So, I had two interviews with my company last week for a Regional International Coordinator position. This would be a great step up for me...more money and I would get to work from home half time. I think the interviews went quite well. I have a very good working relationship with the woman who would be my boss, and I know she has a lot of respect for me.

I had one interview with only her last Monday and one with the 4 current regional people on Friday. After the group interview, one of them wrote me this:

Not a problem Melinda. It was my pleasure. In my opinion your interview was excellent. Your responses were practical, personal and extremely professional. (sorry about all the “Ps”, I home-school my son and today was P day?! haha

Very good job!

Have a great weekend.

I think I am totally over-analyzing this, but I am freaking out because I haven't heard anything yet. There were a total of 5 candidates, and they were supposed to let the final 2 know this week because there will need to be one more interview. I haven't heard anything either way. Ahhhhhh!!!!!!! The negative side of me is saying that if I were a finalist, I would have heard by now, but shouldn't they let me know if I *wasn't* selected too?

I'm venting all this out here because I can't really talk to anyone here at work about it and DH listened to me go on and on and on about it all weekend. But seriously, I think I'm going to lose my mind until I find out. My stomach is in knots and I can't concentrate. Like I said, I'm totally freaking out!!

Thanks for listening to me vent!

If you just interviewed on Friday, I wouldn't freak out yet. It's possible something small is holding things up right now, such as someone being out of the office, etc. If you haven't heard anything either way by Thurs or Fri, I would send a note to the person 'in charge' and inquire. Good luck!

I don't think it is time to freak out yet. There are a lot of things that these guys have to discuss and go over before they announce the top two. As executives I am sure that they are all really busy and coordinating times to talk, times to set up further interviews, and make a decision take time.

I would just write a short e-mail or card thanking them for their time and consideration and you ae looking forward to hearing from them. It may give them the clue that you are getting anxious.
