Nikki - thanks for doing this!! I will post stats at her 9 month appointment (I am with Charm- YIKES!!) in a few weeks.
I forgot to mention in my last post in the other thread - A has started showing signs of being EXTREMELY impatient. Saturday - she grabbed a pen of the counter and I put her in her highchair and took the pen away from her (she was getting ready to eat lunch) and she SCREAMED and clenched her fists - as soon as I gave the pen back, she smiled and started playing - I did this three times just to make sure - she was mad that I took the pen away. Also, if she is hungry and sees her bottles or bowl of food - she screams if I don't move fast enough. I think she is too young to understand the concept of waiting, but this really made me mad - I don't want her to act like this.
I will post a picture later - my connection at work S*CKS right now.

Yahoo for the new thread! THanks, Nikki!
I'm late to this topic, but I'm also getting up and feeding Kaito in the middle of the night. As many of you said, it is truly the easiest way to get him back to sleep. He eats then goes to sleep pretty quicklly. Yesterday he went to bed at 7 pm, then up at midnight, then 4AM. Then up and ready to go at about 6:15. Funny how many of our babies seem to be on the same schedule.
Will write more later. Have to get to work!

Thanks for getting the new thread up and running Nikki :)
Kim - Addison does the same thing impatient thing as Ashley. She gets impatient over anything anymore. I think it just a phase as they are learning their newfound independence.
WE HAVE A CRAWLER!!
Well, it was only a few small "steps" but definitely a crawl. It is so exciting to see her move like that!! She was pretty thrilled about it too. I guess she has been moving pretty good at school today. (DH is working at the school on a remodeling project right now so he gets to see her a lot during the day now ;) ).

Thanks for the new thread! I don't have Lily's stats in front of me, but I'll post soon... here is a picture for the front page:

Lily has actually slept through the night TWICE in a row now! And in her crib - unbelievable! Anyway, I'm not betting on it lasting, but it's been nice.
Love the last set of pics from the old thread, hope everyone is doing well. We've all hit a bit of a rough patch here, but I'm sure everything will be okay.

Jo - I really hope it is just a phase. I was horrified with her explosive reaction to me taking the pen away from her. WOO HOO for crawling. How exciting!!
cr8nme - Noelle is adorable! Love the outfit!
sabrespa - what adorable kids..does Anthony have red hair?? He is adorable!
Here is Ashley's six month photo - I plan on doing another professional one at 9 months:
removed photo
Edited to add - WOO HOO Pixi!!! Go Lily - will cross my fingers that you are over the cr*p sleeping hump.
I am off to get a pedicure - after the huge fight with my DH (and D is not for dear) I feel I deserve it.

nikki - Thanks SO much for setting us up again.
CUTE pics cr8zy, cr8nme, pixie, dbers and sabrespa!

Going back to the old thread:
fifi - Those are such cute pics - I love the one of you and Max!
WE HAVE A CRAWLER!!
Well, it was only a few small "steps" but definitely a crawl. It is so exciting to see her move like that!! She was pretty thrilled about it too.
Me too, jo! Congrats to Addy!
Yes, Caitlin crawled this morning - about 3 "steps"! I am bringing out the baby gate this afternoon when she naps. We also have a tooth! Caitlin was busy today:) We have had 2 major rough nights so hopefully now that she crawled and the tooth popped, we can all get back to getting a few hours of sleep. Plus we had another change - she dropped to 2 naps. Now she naps at 9am and 1:30pm - bed at 6:30, up at 6:15. Okay here goes... I just got a call from Noelle's daycare... She has an uncontained poop as they would call it... Basically she has diarrhea they leaked all up and down her body and into the high chair...she also had this same thing happen in Miami while we were at a restaurant  and it leaked through her carseat. She also have a watery one yesterday at daycare that soiled her clothes :( So I am probably going to have to keep her home tomorrow. So shold I take her to the doctor? What should I be giving her?

cr8nme - If is just diarrhea with no vomiting, I would try a bland BRAT type diet with as much BM/formula as she usually takes. The BRAT diet is bananas, rice, applesauce, toast - anything binding that is bland. I wouldn't go to the doc unless maybe she is weak, dehydrated or running a fever. It sounds like a stomach bug - hope that she feels better.

cute babies everybody!
woohoo! the new stroller (valco runabout) came today and after our maiden voyage, i have to say that it rocks my world. i can't believe i waited so long to get a double all-terrain. it made our walk sooo much easier.
this may be a crazy question but do any of you feel like your torso has gotten longer since being pg/having your baby? i swear, i think mine has.

please god, let my gates get here today. i can't take chasing after jake much longer. my back needs a break.
so i don't usually vent here but this is the conversation i had with dh this morning:
dh: so i'm working a little late tonight and then i have to go to a client's to go over a job. then i'm going to pick up the rent from our tenants.
me: well... when do you think you'll get home?
dh: late.
me: great.
dh: what?
me: it would be nice if you could be home at least once this week because i have to go to the grocery and i'd really like to dye my hair and...
dh: can't you take the new stroller to the grocery?
me: it's great and everything but it can't walk itself. [stomps off]
seriously, why do i have to constantly be the one who puts aside things that need to get done? for the past 2 weeks, he's been home for dinner maybe 3 times. he gets to go to games, play basketball, hang with his friends... all the while i'm home with the babies. i really don't mind him doing the things he wants to do...in fact, i encourage it... but at what point will he stop and think that maybe there are things i want or need to do? taking a shower is pretty difficult with 2 babies. going to the grocery? forget it.
ETA: oh yeah. tomorrow, we are having dinner at his parent's house. yippee  made tolerable only because dh's brother and sil will be there with their new 4w old baby.

Charm - so sorry. I am in the same boat with just one baby - I can't even imagine trying to juggle two...isn't it funny (not ha ha funny) how their lives stomp on and our lives are now filled with babies.
cr8nme - hope Noelle feels better!! She is so tiny!!!
Jo - Addy is adorable - gosh, her cheeks are SO CUTE!!
solong - Courtney is so cute!! She is tiny too- I think Ashley is over 20 pounds by now..
Well, Ashley is SICK AGAIN....I came in to get her this AM (she STTN....which was odd) and she was covered in green bean vomit...it was everywhere. She had greenbeans for lunch. I tried giving her pedilite/bottle and she kept puking. So DH and I have an argument about whose job is more important - I have two big meetings today that I am running and he has a customer coming in from Boston tomorrow and needs to finish his car - we called everyone and no one could assist - so DH is home against his will and I need to get home ASAP...any day but today - it always seems to happen that way. Everything always seems to fall on me and it really isn't fair.

Hi all
BB - What a handsome boy, H is - beautiful eyes!
cr8zy - SO sorry about A being sick and your DH being a pain. I hope that A is feeling better!
charmcity - Wow, that is tough. Right after A was born DH and I decided that we would each get one outing per week (at night) unless something special came up. I can't imagine being alone anymore than that. Maybe an honest talk with your DH would help him understand that you all are a family and he can't just do whatever he wants all the time - you deserve to get out too!
cr8nme - Hope N is better today - glad the doc thinks that it is nothing serious!
jo&sean - Those are such great pics - you can see her personality:) I love the one of her looking at the dog!
this may be a crazy question but do any of you feel like your torso has gotten longer since being pg/having your baby? i swear, i think mine has.
Hmm - my shirts fit differently now but I think it is because my boobs are bigger, not that my torso is longer. Man, if anything was going to get longer, I think that it should be my legs?:)
We are doing well and C was only up twice last night - DH took the first shift so I got to sleep from 9:30 - 1:45 and 2-5 and then for another 90 minutes with C in bed with me! I guess it was the combination of tooth and crawling that was making her such a mess before.
Hope that you all are doing well!

DH had a dream last night. First off, he *never* remembers his dreams.
He turned to me this morning when we were getting up and said...
"I had a dream that our next baby was a boy, and it wasn't just one baby, it was 2 babies...twin boys"
Twins run in his side of the family.
Lord all mighty. I sure hope that he's not predicting the future with this one.

so hubby just called to tell me that his piece-of-shit car just broke down. he says he's going to get rid of it and get a new one. with what money... i don't know.
see, this is another bone of contention with us. he has this house that he bought to renovate almost 2 years ago and he's done no work on it in almost a year. he was thinking about selling it and i really encouraged him to sell it because we needed the money... he'd probably make the average american's salary on it even if he sold it as-is. then, he decided not to sell it and and is trying to get aloan to finish it. i'm not too happy about that. so now, when the money would come in handy, we've got none.
just really pisses me off.

charmcitygirl, cr8zyforaf - Vent away. That's what we're here for. On the days I take care of Kaito all day I am usually completely exhausted and I need my DH to get back home to relieve me as soon as possible. I really don't know how you manage with TWO babies, and two MOBILE babies at that. AARGH. I hope your DH steps up more to help you and acknowledge how exhausting your day must be. Maybe he should take care of the twins all day for a change so he can appreciate what you do. cr8zyforaf - when it rains, it pours. I hope Ashley is feeling better.
3rd tooth coming in - Kaito slept like crap yesterday night. Up at midnight, two, four and ready to go at around 6:15. But then today I discovered a 3rd tooth coming in. So it all makes sense to me and makes the nights seem more tolerable if that makes any sense. He's up in the middle of the night because he's bothered by his tooth. That's why I just can't do CIO. His sleep seems to go bad when there's a reason....

Well, Ashley didn't puke all day yesterday and then last night, I fed her and went to put her in the crib - puked everywhere...I had to strip the crib and her. The good thing - she slept all night...except I was checking on her every hour because I was scared she was going to vomit and choke to death..insane, I know.
I am either over feeding her, or she has reflux/some sort of digestive issue. She isn't sick. She was happy and played all day yesterday (and didn't puke all day - and DH gave her three bottles), she doesn't have loose stools, no fever...what could it be? Also, it seems she pukes when she eats laying down. I am just waiting for the daycare to call...I don't know if I should call the doctor or what. I did just recently up her bottles from 4 ounces to 6 - could that be it? So, I cut back on her bottles again. Also, it seems she sleeps much better when she doesn't have that nighttime bottle (since she puked it up both nights...and then slept for 11 hours). Who freaking knows...where is my baby manual when I need it?
Charm - I am so sorry. Men are clueless sometimes - My DH is the same way - except he is sinking all of his free money into his racecar...don't even get me started. We also need the money - he makes a fraction of what I make and we are getting nothing accomplished around the house (wanted a deck, a fence, a shed) but DH chooses to sink his money into his racecar. And he tells me the other day "since you let me work on my car this year, maybe next year we can add an addition onto the house"..Gee thanks, he gets to sink money into something he enjoys, I get house cr*p.
solong - that dream would scare me...twins..I can barely handle one.
Alison - glad to hear that C is sleeping a bit better - and props to your hubby for taking the first shift...can he come and take a shift at my house :).
Beach - what a great picture of Henry - he has amazing eyes!!

just found the new thread. I'll catch up and do SO's later--have to run to a meeting but just wanted to drop off an update I posted over in Oct 2005 mommies:
sleep--alex slept HORRIBLE for like 4 days, and great for the last two. Kid is still flip-flopping this way. It's aggravating but I try to be thankful for the good nights that somewhat balance out the bad nights.
teeth--no teeth yet but he is teething on and off--hands and things in his mouth. motrin, tylenol and teething tablets don't appear to help at all.
crawling--no crawling yet but if he can push his feet back against anything while on his tummy he pops up onto all fours and rocks back and forth. I predict he's full out crawling by Memorial day but I might be wrong.
helmet--we have an appointment tonight. It might be his "graduation" day if they can't adjust it any further for his latest growth spurt. I'm quite happy with the results. He has one small spot I'd like to "pop out" but he looks so much better. I just hope if he does graduate tonight that his skull has firmed up enough that he doesn't regress since his head was so terribly soft. At least he mostly sleeps on his side and stomach now.
bumpers--took them out of his crib last night when I noticed he'd managed to get underneath them.
talking--doubt he's really speaking but he says "dadadada" when he sees daddy and "ni ni ni ni" when he is tired. I'm sure it's just coincidental but it's fun to pretend.
something cute--yesterday morning I was trying to get him back to sleep at 7 am before I went to work so daddy could sleep longer so I was rocking him with my eyes shut ignoring his bright wide open eyes and he started reaching up to touch my face to get my attention. When I continued to ignore him he pulled his pacifier out and tried to put it in my mouth. I couldn't help it--I cracked up laughing. :)

gah! so now that dh has no car, i have to go with him early to his parents so that we can have dinner there tonight. he's trying to finish a deck that he's been building there. it would be nice if he'd work on ours.
in other news, zoe's 2 bottom teeth finally popped the other day. she's been sooo good about it. i count myself lucky that my kids are pretty good teethers. at least for now.

Hi all.
cr8zy -Hmm - It is weird that she sleeps better on the nights where she pukes up the last bottle. Has her doc ever mentioned reflux? I am glad that she slept the 11 hours, but I am sorry that you weren't able to relax! And, sorry, I am keeping my DH here:)
Kay - I feel the same way, that they seem to sleep badly for a reason. That is also why I never did/will do CIO - I just never know when something is hurting.
charmcity - vent away! I agree with Kay - it sounds like it is time for you to take a day or a weekend away so that DH can see what it is like to take care of your two kids for 24-48 straight!
hmbay - I hope that A graduates from the helmet today - sounds like you are pleased with the results!
solong - Wow, that is quite a dream - I guess of he is right, he could get a second job as a Psychic :D
So we had an OK night last night. I always go in and check on both kids before I go to bed. I went into Caitlins room and she was laying on her side holding her blankie - she was all curled up and breathing deeply, almost a light snore. Then I went and checked on Aidan and he was on his back, spread eagle with his froggie on his forehead. They are so cute when they sleep!
Yesterday we went to playgroup at the park. It was windy, but the older kids ran for 2 hours. I just held Caitlin, but the combination of being outside and watching the kids must of pooped her out - she took a 2.5 hours nap yesterday when we got home. We are off to lunch with my mom, brother and grandma and then they are taking Aidan to Chuckie Cheese - Caitlin and I are going to come home and organize her closet. I need to box up a few remaining 3-6m and hang the spring 6-12 stuff.
Have a GREAT day!

Thanks for the compliments on Henry's picture.
I'm excited for the weekend. Our town's annual huge art festival starts tomorrow (well tonight for the parade). We own a business downtown where it's held so it is a bust ass, totally crazy, busiest weekend of the year kind of excitement. We live in a town of about 20K, and expect 200K people for the event!
I've gotten Henry several cutie outfits and I can't wait to show him off. :o ;) I'm thinking I might even let him try ice cream. Would that be really bad? (tell the truth)
I'm sorry Charm, and Kim with the annoying hubbies. Come on guys, shape up!
Kim That just sounds awful with Ashley's barf! I would totally freak if H barfed in his crib. So scary!!
hmbay I'm so glad to hear that you are seeing good results with the helmet! At least it feels worth it. H makes those same "words" as Alex, he just doesn't do them at anything. I pretend sometimes too though! :p That is soooo funny/cute about the paci.
Yeah for Zoe's teeth. I'm glad that they weren't too painful. It is so interesting to me (although it should be obvious) that your kids are such individuals. I guess I ignorantly believed that they would be doing everything at the same time.
AlisonI can just envision the frog on his head--H sleeps in that same position. So cute! I need to do some closet organization too.
outgrowing clothes
I'm so bummed that H is already outgrowing some of the clothes I bought him for summer. It is so annoying that different brands are sized so different. It is so hard to know what size to buy for 2/3 months from now--then to have to guess about how they run--I should be surprised anything fits!
sleep I can't let Henry CIO either. It is so hard to wake up so often (we are on a 2 hour wake up here lately), but I just feel like he needs me. He doesn't want to be awake, and he needs me to fall back asleep. We are going out of town next weekend, but then I am going to start working on some ideas from "No Cry Sleep Solution".

I'm a bit behind here. We've recently moved so I've had a lot going on.
Crawling-Zach is crawling all over the place. I also found him standing up in the crib when I went to get him from his nap.
Eating-He basically eats everything we do. He prefers regular food to pureed stuff. I've let him try ice cream and cake and he loves it. Ack, I'm such a bad mommy ;)
Teeth-He's getting 2 top teeth right now so he almost has 5 teeth total.
Sleeping-It's hit or miss for us. Sometimes he sleeps through the night sometimes not. Oh well.

I agree. You know I think that the first sweet thing Aidan ever got was some vanilla ice cream on his first b-day. Who knows why, but he could really care less about sweets even now. He gets so darn excited to go to the grocery store with me to get a cookie - then he eats 2 bites, gives it back to me and asks for string cheese. I am not trying to say that anyone who gives their kids tastes of stuff is bad, but IMO wait as long as possible for juice/sweets because once you do, you can never take it back!

hmbay - I forgot to respond - what a sweet story.
Sandy - Wow - Zach is all over the place. DH and I were just discussing last night how everyone says that boys are usually slower at doing new thing - however, it seems more boys are mobile here and at A's daycare - the one boy in her class who is one of the youngest is the only baby crawling so far! All the girl babies just sit and watch him go.
solong - sorry about the gagging...I bet in a week or two it will be a whole different story!
Well, we had a horrible night last night - I am convinced that A has acid reflux - why would this be just showing up now?? Last night - she seemed to be in so much pain after eating - arching her back, crying. I did finally get her down but she didn't stay down...and then she had a lot of juicy burps and looked like she wanted to vomit again. I am calling the doctor - everytime I call (this is the fourth vomitting spell in two months) they dismiss it as a stomach bug, which it so isn't. Also, I noticed that she vomits mostly after a feeding where she is laying down or is laid down right after feeding. I am so upset by this - what if this is the reason that she has been sleeping so horrible for 8 months - she has been in pain and I did nothing about it...boo hoo to me!
Happy Friday to everyone!

I don't know why it would just show up now--perhaps it was "silent reflux" up to this point but it does indeed sound like reflux (both of my boys had it and were on zantac from birth until about 6 months). I'm toying with that perhaps Alex's bad sleep nights might be from the days I have coke instead of coffee for my caffeine fix. I have no proof on this--I'm starting to experiment--but it seems most likely the really bad sleep nights are on weekends when I primarily drink coke or cherry coke instead of my work coffee and I do think as well it could be reflux/gas/stomach related.
helmet--well we decided to try to get one more month out of it. Josie was able to make a final adjustment to it but said once he outgrows it this time we're done.

cr8zy - I don't think that it is unheard of for something like reflux to appear later - if your current ped dismisses you again, can you see another one - or go straight to a specialist? I hope that you can get some answers!
hmbay - Ya know Coke seems to affect my kids as well - maybe because it is carbonated and/or acidic? I remember Aidan's gas was not as bad when I cut out Coke.
Kay - We had our seats inspected a couple of months ago (when we switched to the convertible) and they had to tweak things a bit - DH was surprised because he considers himself an expert now:) It is a great program!
nikki - Is this the pic that won't work? If it is, I will upload another to snapfish later - let me know and thanks!

dbers ahhh... a weeks vacation. i need one of those. have fun!
as annoyed as i was with dh the other day, i have to say that mil wins the annoyance award for the week. i kinda got forced into staying the night there last night and it just sucked. she wouldn't turn on the a/c and it was so freaking hot that i couldn't sleep. i finally fell asleep around 2am then the bambinos got up at 5:30am. for the day. wtf??!! anyhow, without going into all the details, i just have to say that i've had enough of the mil for the time being. we were planning on going there again tonight to visit with some friends but i just can't do it. so i extended an invite to sil and friends to come to my house this evening. not sure if they are coming... i'm just glad that i don't have to go there.
oh, and note to mil: is it really that difficult to pick up the house a bit? especially when you know you are having guests, and all of those guests have kids. not to mention you've taken the last 4 weeks off of work. you really could have finished unpacking and getting the house clean. i have 2 mobile babies and my house is much more clean. you keep saying how you bought this house because it would be great for all the grandkids and i'm no baby-proofing nazi or anything, but i don't think you could have a more unfriendly environment for kids. seriously. there's electrical cords and plants everywhere and brand-new glass tables... the pool is going to be a nightmare as well. it's beautiful and all but there's no way in hell that my kids will be able to play out there without strict supervision until they're practically adults.
ugh. all better now.

Noelle has so much freakin laundry...she has come home in her spare outfit everyday this week  She has had a blowout everyday. Yesterday I had to go to Target and get her a couple of pair of shorts since somehow that all seemed to have disappeared upon returning from Miami...Noelle is feeling better...she is a little congested so I have her on Pediacare and this mornig she woke up a little less stuffy. Don't know what I am doing this weekend but I know it won't be my usual shopping since I have spent a small fortune on Noelle and myself this week:eek:
Dbers~ have fun!! Hope Alex feels better...
Charm~ Sorry about MIL :( Glad you could come here to get it off your chest

Nope - this is our first trip with the bub... and her first ear infection. She has great timing, right?
She's sleeping now - poor thing.
Anyone who had a db with ear infections - how long until they feel better? I just gave her the first dose of antibiotics.

dbers - I am so sorry - that really stinks!! How soon did the doctor say she could fly?
Ashley has reflux - they perscribe Zantax but I am only going to use it as a last resort - good thing is I got a note to take to daycare - now I don't have to pick her up if she pukes...she has to show other signs (fever, loose stools, puking multiple times). I wonder if this is the underlying reason that she has always slept like cr*p.

Um just so you know it takes a few days for it to build up in their system and actually manage the symptoms so you won't see relief if you don't use it regularily. Sorry. :( Oh and it's mint flavored/scented and well kinda yucky. I could never give it to Colin or Alex straight. I put it in a bottle with an once or two of milk (not a full bottle unless I was certain they'd drink a full bottle) which made it tolerable for them to drink it.

cr8zy - I am so glad that you finally have a diagnosis and treatment (well not glad, but you know.) I wonder if you were to try the Zantac regularily for a few days, if you would see positive results?
dbers - Poor A - welcome to travelling with kids! Aidan has flown 4 times in his life and been sick either before or during 3 of them. I hope that you all can leave on Monday!
charmicity - You need a cocktail:D Hope that you have a better/more relaxing weekend (with no mil.)
So today Caitlin crawled about 5 feet. I swear it happened in about an hour - first it was 1 foot, then a couple and then all the way across the rug. I think that she would have gone further but her hands slipped when they touched the wood floor.

dbers--sorry about Aruba and Alex. Hope she's feeling better soon and you can get your tickets changed.
AlisonCO--interesting you did observe that with coke. It's the only thing I've been able to put my finger on might be causing some of my problems. I'll just have to break out the coffee maker for the next few weekends and see if that makes a difference.

Dbers - Sorry about having to postpone your trip. I hope A starts feeling better. I have no idea about the ear infection thing.
Cr8zy - At least you have some answers! Maybe that has been the cause of her sleep issue?? Did they suggest you try a different formula?

I am so glad it is Friday - I am so tired that I would probably fall over if I had to work tomorrow. We have a busy weekend planned though. Tomorrow is DH's bday and I haven't even gotten him a card yet (bad I know!). I am going to run and get him one after work - we are picking out some new golf stuff tomorrow so that should make him happy.
Addison was too cute this morning - she woke up babbling and when I went in to get her, she was sitting up in her crib facing the wall and playing with her bumper while "signing" away. Too cute.
Hope everyone has a good weekend :)

Thanks everyone! We just gave Alex her second dose of medication - and her fever is down a bit. I'm hoping she'll get some sleep tonight, but I won't be surprised if she's up a lot. We'll now be leaving Monday morning and just staying for 5 days. Could be worse!

Just kinda checking in after forever. I'm nowhere near caught up on you guys.
Jamie's doing great. He's staying in the 50th percent for everything, and happy as can be. He still has NO teeth! Kinda freaky. Older DS had 6 by this age! He's working on crawling, but no actual movement yet. He enjoys rolling from place to place. Still BF. He can hold his own bottle most times, and we've done sippy cups a little bit too.
Food - Mostly still gerber stuff but he gets a little of whatever we're eating too. I'll give him a pizza crust to gnaw on, or mashed whatever veggies, etc. I'm staying away from sweets for now too. DS didn't get sweets either, until Grandma moved to town. Now the kid won't eat anything that isn't a chip or a cookie. It's driving me nuts. But he never was a good eater at all. Jamie eats everything! He LOVES veggies. The only thing he doesn't like is bananas. And that's supposedly sweet and alllll kids love bananas! Ha!
Let's see. Still co-sleeping.... Oh and he had one day where he said "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma" a lot, but hasn't happened much since.
Anyway, I guess that's it for here. Our lives have changed a LOT lately, but Jamie's trucking right along.
Hope ya'll and yer babes are doing well!

Wow, we have a new thread, it's been FOREVER since I've been here!! Thanks for all the work Nikki!!!
Our life is so busy, as you all understand. Work is one meeting after another, and I never have time for CC anymore (not that I should have ever been spending time here during work:rolleyes:. I've been leaving work, spending 4 hours with Lauren and then working for a few more hours before bed. Hopefully I'm slowing down, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Here's an update with Lauren, I'm going to try to spend some time today catching up!
teeth - She has her 2 bottom teeth and we're pretty sure that something is going on up top now, only time will tell! She handled the first few really well, a little Tylenol and she was back to herself!
feeding - She's still getting breastmilk 6 times a day (3 from me, 3 bottles at daycare). Additionally, she's eating cereal and fruit for breakfast; veggie and meat for lunch; and veggie, meat and fruit for dinner. She LOVES cereal, likes veggies, doesn't care for meat, and has just started fruit, but she seems to like it! Overall, she's a really good eater. We've tried giving her some finger food (Gerber puffs) and she has NO CLUE what to do with them! She just holds them in her hand, too funny! Now that we've worked through the baby foods, I'll start trying to give her some more table foods, I think.
crawling - Lauren has absolutely no desire to crawl! She's always hated tummy time, so she hasn't gotten too much of it. We'll put her on her hands and knees and she'll stay there for a few seconds before she starts crying. She's been sitting by herself since 4.5months or so and she's reach really far forward and sometimes flip onto her belly. We think she'll just start walking and never crawl;).
swim lessons/sick - We stopped swim lessons. In the 8 weeks she went, we had 3 colds that ended in ear infections, thrush, 1 breathing treatment (from the congestion from a cold) and pink eye. We're done. She'd only had 1 cold in her life until that point.
sleeping - Lauren continues to be an awsome sleeper. In the last week, we stopped swaddling her (daddy decided it was time, I told him it was his deal to do as I hate listening to her cry, it breaks my heart!). We instead used a sleep sack and the first few nights she fussed for 10mins or so and then went to sleep and we never heard another peep out of her until we woke her up. After that, she goes down without a sound. I guess daddy was right! We intend to put her to bed at 8:30 (ends up being closer to 9 most nights as we want to spend more time with her!) and we wake her up about 6:45. She then takes 2-3, 1-2 hour naps during the day. On the weekends, she'll generally wake-up between 7:30 and 8:30. I just hope our next kid is like this, I'm afraid we've been spoiled!
Here's some recent pictures and then I'm off to read about all of you and your adorable babies!!

Hunter's update
He had his first trip to the Zoo yesterday and LOVED it. He looked at everything and even hit the deer-that's what he does when he's excited- he slaps his little hand on it!
Foods: French Fry insides, rice, popsicles (sugar free) and not too much more than the baby food he eats. is anyone finding it harder to have your babies eat what we do than feed them their own food? We eat later and we use alot of spices! He is fascinated by water bottles and opening cabinet doors.
Walking No, not yet! But he likes to take us on a tour of the house-while we hold his hands!
Here are his latest pics: Stats will be later on!

Brushing teeth -- Just to answer Brink's question, I actually recently started a thread on the 0~18 month forum regarding "Baby Dental Care (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=19346)". Several moms have already replied and made suggestions. You could check it out! In fact, we went to Tar-jay this past Saturday and bought Max's first finger toothbrush. Yay!
Recent pics -- Loving the recent pictures that everyone posting. Cute pictures of Anthony, Alexandra, Ashley, Ava, Lily, Noelle, Henry, Courtney, Caitlin, Addy, Aimee, Hunter, and Lauren! Can you believe how fast they are growing before our eyes?
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Babies are all so cute. I hope Brink got to Aruba.
Well, we had a puke filled weekend. Ashley refuses to take the Zantac...refuses...I've tried to sneak it into food an bottles and every time, she gags, pukes, flat out refuses to take anything with the Zantac in it.
She puked Friday night and Saturday night in the middle of the night in her sleep and didn’t wake – just fussed - I just don't get it - why is this just happening now. I thought we might be over feeding her (she was eating 28-30 ounces plus three meals) so Saturday she got 15 ounces and one meal and still puked...WTF? I've elevated the crib, stopped feeding her lying down; don't feed her right before bed and she still pukes. Just in time for our vacation next week. I am stumped...I started a thread but no one replied. I just don't know what to do...if it is reflux, why is it starting now? She has NEVER been a puker. I haven't introduced any new food.
She is also back to sleeping like cr*p..up six times last night. This is never going to end, is it? I’ve been sleeping on her floor because I am so scared that she is going to choke on the vomit and die in her sleep.

Nope - I've changed nothing. She has no fever, no rash, and is completely normal except for the puking. She is passing gas and beltching more. DH thinks she is cutting her top teeth - however,I believe if that were the case, the puking would be more consistent.

Kim--so sorry Ashley is still sleeping badly. The zantac is nasty. It's so strong it made me wince when I licked a drop off my finger once when making bottles for the boys. I'd keep trying to get it in her. Have you tried mycelion gas drops if you can't get the zantac in her?

please, please make it stop! this was how my weekend went:
saturday- morning as usual... play, eat, nap. then we went to my mom's to get some boxes that i had stored there. got home later than expected, rushed around to make dinner and put the babes to bed. i noticed that jake was more active than usual and that he was trying to pull himself up on things to no avail. so i mentioned to dh that we should probably lower the crib mattress soon because he's going to start climbing the sides. so i put jake to bed (poor guy, he was so sleepy that he conked out almost immediately) but i had to change his diaper. he roused some but was content. then i got zoe to put her to bed and in the 2 minutes it took to get her and put her in her crib, jake had pulled himself up on his knees in the crib  so i went downstairs to tell dh what he'd done and that i was going to lower the mattress now. well, by the time i got back into their room, he'd pulled himself up onto his feet
sunday- went back to my mom's to get more boxes, got home and started to unpack them. we installed our new gate friday night (yay!) and had them in the living room, all gated in. i was washing some dishes, dh was outside and i heard jake screaming bloody murder. so i went to check on him and he had pulled himself on to the gate. imagine if you will... his hands were on top holding on and his feet were on the bottom rail  . he was stuck and really pissed about it. i went to grab my camera but he fell just as the camera was powering on. i really have no idea whatsoever how he did it.
he has really mastered crawling in the past week and can push himself into a sitting position. now he can pull himself up onto his knees and feet. way too much in a week. luckily zoe is taking her sweet time doing all of these things :) it's so interesting that they are progressing at such different rates. it's like my own little science experiment.
as usual, cute pics everyone!
cr8zy so sorry about ash... i have no idea what could be going on with her but hope that it stops soon.
dbers hope you got to aruba safely and that A is feeling better and you all can enjoy your trip.
randysmandy i think it's okay to use spices in baby food. even "spicy" stuff... i mean, i know that parents in other countries where spicy foods are prominent give it to their babies. but i would go easy with it. non-spicy spices are totally fine, imo.

Cr8zy - I am so sorry about Ashley - you just can't catch a break on this sleep issue. Did you check into the falvored drops? The whole thing seems odds.
Dbers - Hope you are off on your trip and that A is feeling better :)
Randysmandy - Hunter is getting so big and such a cutie :) We haven't used any spices yet - she seems to like everything so far without it.
Wildcat - Those are great pictures of Lauren - what a doll she is! She certainly knows how to pose for the camera too.
Brink - I am glad you asked the question about tooth brushing - I was just wondering that myself.
Fifibee - Great picture :)
Charmcity - I can't even imagine having TWO babies who are mobile right now. It's hard enough to keep up with one. Jake is a determined little fellow isn't he?!
We had a great weekend. Addison is crawling like a little champion which means she is EVERYWHERE. She discovered the dog water bowl and promplty picked it up, shook it and got herself all wet which she thought was really, really funny. Both Saturday and Sunday night she stayed up later than normal and I knew she had to be getting tired but she was so excited to use her new found skill that she was doing all she could to stay awake. She crawled over to me and tugged at my pant legs and pulled herself up just wanting to be held and cuddled. It was the sweetest thing ever!
It's too funny watching her - she does some good yoga moves. She can do a perfect "Downward Dog" and she laughs and squeals while she is doing it. She can crawl all over, move into a sit, lay down, roll over, pull herself to a sit from flat on her back, pull herself up to a stand on furniture. She can also crawl then stop and lift one hand up doing a little tripod. It is a whole new world and so much fun!!

Aimee has still been coughing at night a lot. So, we switched from a cool mist humidifier to a warm mist. Now she goes the night without coughing and just coughs when she wakes up. Not sure if it is coincidence or if it is working better. I think I overdid it last night, I walked into her room this morning and all the windows were dripping wet. Guess I'll turn it down a little tonight.
Cr8zy - just a thought - my nephew used to build up an allergy to his formula over time. He would puke for days and then my sister would switch brands and he would be fine for another couple of months. Then he would start puking all the time and she would switch again. Doesn't make much sense, but everytime she switched, he would be fine for a while. Maybe you could try it?
fifibee - I saw your thread - thanks. I'll have to spend some time looking at it this afternoon.
Wildcat/Fifebee/Randysmandy - your babies are so cute! That one with the deer is just adorable.
Well, back to work - hope everyone has a great Monday....

Cr8zy~ I too am sorry about Ashley...I really hope things get better for you SOON...
I can't believe how mobile all of our babies are... Noelle is flipping and rolling and sitting up like a pro she can pull her self into a sitting position if she is laying flat on her back or if she is on her stomach...however no crawling...she gets on her knees and goes back and forth and even scoots around on her stomach but won't actually crawl.
The cutest thing~ If I give Noelle a Kiss I have started saying Mmmmmwahhh and on Saturday I did that while giving her a kiss so now she takes my cheeks and puts her lips on mine and say mmmmmmmm I don't think she has the wah down yet. She even did it when I was saying goodbye at daycare and it just melted my heart.
Oh and one other cute thing. Noelle yanked my necklace and broke it on Saturday so I told her NO in kind of a stern voice and I pulled her hand away and tapped it lightly... so she looked at me and put her thumb in my mouth :) As if to say its okay Mommy I know you are upset so I let you "borrow" my thumb( her thumb is her best friend)

cra8zy - so so sorry about Ash's reflux issues. I too think it is weird that they just started. Poor baby & poor mommy! There is a baby at L's daycare that has reflux... he has to be held upright for 45 minutes after every feeding. But he is much younger than A (3 months) so I'm not sure if it would help her or not...
fifibee, wildcat & everyone! - such CUTE pictures of all the babies! I love this stage b/c they all smile for the camera & have such soft perfect baby faces! Isn't this a great age?
charm - OMG! That is amazing! And scary! I think the fun is just starting for all of us... and for you x2!!
Lily is doing really well. She can pull herself up on things & loves to "stand" while you hold her fingers. She has started to wave "bye bye" and can do "high five" :) She is sleeping better in her crib, off and on. She has one tooth & I have a little finger brush I should start to use! She barely makes any noise (except to cry!), so I don't think that we will have an early talker on our hands... she WILL NOT stay still on the changing table & constantly flips over on her hand/knees to crawl off the table! I am starting to see the benefit of those crazy baby harnesses!
One cute thing that she did the other day was to take her "cousin's" binky right out of his mouth & put it in hers! It was attached to him by a leash so they had to be very close to each other & it was so cute! (Funny too, b/c L doesn't ever take a binky!) Wish I had a picture.
Oh! And I got my mother's day/b-day gift early this week! I was totally coveting this:

jo&sean - Loved your story about Addy's "downward dog" move. So funny!
Cr8nme - Noelle is sooo cute and sweet on offering you her best friend. It's definitely an awwww moment.
Yikes, charm - You definitely have your hands full with two mobile babies. It's amazing how our little ones get themselves into strange positions. I often wonder how Max get into some strange contorted positions in his own crib as well.
cr8zy - Sorry to hear about Ashleys issues. Hope it all goes away real soon. <hugs>

Aimee is still coughing during the night. She coughed for 45 minutes last night before I finally went in and gave her some tylenol and pedialyte. DH is taking her to the ped this morning to make sure she doesn't have strep or something.

DH just got back from taking Aimee to the ped. They think she may have bronchitis. They are giving us some antibiotics for it. I guess one of the things is an inhaler with albutural (sp?). I know Nikki has been through this. I hope it works for Aimee and she is better in a few days. The ped said that if that doesn't work it might be asthma or allergies. We just have to start eliminating things.
pixiecat - that would be fun. I'm sure we could find somewhere in the middle of all of us Bay Area gals that wouldn't be too bad. I travel all over the Bay Area for work, so I'm used to making long hauls everday. I actually find myself in Palo Alto every now and then.

We've had two puke free days so keep your fingers crossed. I am still not convinced it is reflux...who knows. If it happens again, I am either going to take her to another pedi or to a gastro specialist. She is still sleeping like cr*p...I think I am going to start sleep training..I've tried the baby whisperer pick up/put down...it worked for a few nights and then she caught on and started throwing a world class fit. She is up on average 3 times a night - 2 times on a good night, 4-5 times on a bad night. I really think at her age, she should be sleeping better but I am not open to CIO.
Thank you all for your kind words for Ashley and I...
She now says MA MA..DA DA and DO (for dog)..it is so cute - when I go in to get her in the morning, our dog Bay follows - and she smiles and screams DO DO DO...and she is clapping her hands and waving bye!! Still no scooting, crawing..but she loves to stand. She is VERY vocal - so I think she is going to be more of a talker than a mover...daycare says she 'talks' and laughs all day.
Our daycare is having a day at the zoo on the 24th so I think I will take her -children under 3 need to have a parent to attend to go..I think it will be fun!

fifi - That is such a great picture!
cr8zy - I am so sorry that you are still trying to figure out the puking - I agree that a visit to a ped GI specialist might be a good next step. That is so neat that she is "talking" - I am jealous:)
pixie - Nice Mothers Day gift!
Brink - Poor A - I hope that new drugs help so that she can sleep!
Cr8nme - I love the kiss and the thumb stories - so cute and smart!
jo&sean - Funny about the dog bowl - I believe that was the first thing that Aidan ever got into when he started crawling.
charmcity - That is so intersting that J and Z are developing at such different speeds - I love the comment about your little science experiments:)
We are doing well. I have been reading, but truthfully life has been pretty boring here so I have no fun things to share:) We had 2 great nights Sat and Sun (of course it happens when DH is home:rolleyes: ) but last night - blah! My guess is that the second bottom tooth is close. So instead of practicing her crawling, Caitlin loves to practice going forward onto her hands and knees, going down on her belly, pushing back up and into a sit. She will do this over and over. She is still an eating machine - loves her meals, but is such a nursing nightmare now. I am SO lucky if she nurses for 5 minutes during the day, plus she is always looking around, grabbing my lips. I think that she would be happier if squash came out of my boobs - or Oaties, those are her favorite:D
Have a great day!

Brink - Let's hope the antibiotics clear things up for Aimee. I hope it isn't allergies!
Cr8nme - Too cute about Noelle offering you her thump. Sorry about your necklace though.
Pixie - Great new stroller! We were thinking about getting one similar to that. We need something to go "4 x 4'ing" in as DH would say.
Kim - Let's keep our fingers crossed she is puke free tonight too. That is really funny about her talking at school. She will love the zoo!!
Alison - I think that she would be happier if squash came out of my boobs - or Oaties, those are her favorite
This made me laugh! Too funny. She would be a happy little camper :)
We are going to our first Baby Sign Language class tonight. DH is so excited - he has called me three times about it this afternoon.
Addison had her first "ouch report" sent home with her last night. Evidently she and her little buddy Bobby were playing and Bobby went to give her a hug and knocked her over which caused her to bump her head on a cabinet. She and Bobby are quite the buddies - they were playing peek-a-boo together when I got there last night. Too cute!!
I don't think I mentioned this here - Over the weekend, we took Addy to the junior livestock show so she could see some cows, sheep and pigs. She LOVED it. She especially liked watching the sheep and even got to pet one which really made her go crazy.
Off to our class!

cr8nme feel better! Go get that brownie. So sweet that Noelle offered you her thumb.
cr8zy - my heart goes out to you. I can just picture you sleeping on the floor to make sure she's okay. You are one devoted mommy.
doing okay, just tired - I can't seem to massage the blocked ducts out of my left boob. That hasn't happened since when I first started breastfeeding. I can't quite figure out what the issue is. Other than that I'm just tired and am looking forward to the end of the semester, for summer.
One of my students asked me whether I had kids. And I told her about Kaito. I asked her whether she had kids (older woman, probably in her 40s) and she told me she tried and tried but never could have any. That made ms so sad. It really puts perspective on things, you know? Even though Kaito is not STTN and I am tired a lot, there are lots of people who have tried to have kids and haven't been able to....

Just wanted to say a quick hi.
I realized that I read this thread everyday (well mostly) and don't post nearly as often.
I'm so glad to hear from those of you who have been busy (wildcat, hisdaffodil et al) We do miss you! :)
We had a fun weekend with the festival and all. It was hot, but fun. I bought a ring and a few other things--but no large paintings. I'm running out of wall space--especially with all the baby pics!
He has been so much fun lately! I have really enjoyed playing and being silly with him--and chasing him! He is so quick and is loving exploring our house.
I am so jealous of those of you who have communication! Henry is not even close to waving, or talking. I mean he makes noises, but nothign like words at objects. How exciting for you guys.
Solongtogo-Regarding the gagging on solids etc. I just realize this week, that Henry does better with larger chunks of food, not smaller. I think I was cutting them up so small he had trouble knowing if he should chew or swollow. I gave him green beans, cut in 1/2 and he did great chewing. It may be a combo of his age--but I do think the larger pieces help.

Brink & pixiecat - I'm in Mtn. View so we can definitely get together somewhere in Palo Alto, if you guys are interested. I'd love to meet every mama here and our little ones IRL. Anyone else in the Bay Are? :)
Kay -- I totally know what you mean. I actually started TTC after witnessing how difficult it was for many couples our age who want kids but have a hard time. Luckily, we did have a Max and everyday I am thankful that he's here, healthy, and bringing smiles as well as occasional sleepless nights into our lives.
Beachbum -- Chasing him? Wow! Sounds like a good workout for him and for you. :)
Cr8nme -- *raising my hand* Sick here too. I thought it was allergies, but it doesn't look like it anymore. Hopefully, we'll all get better pronto.

Cr8nme - Hope you are feeling better. Did you get that brownie?
Beachbum - Glad the festival went well. I can just picture you chasing Henry around - that has to be fun. Does he giggle and squeal?
Our first sign language class was a lot of fun. We went over foods and manners last night. There was only DH, Addy and I and another mom and her little one who was 11 months. The babies played together on the floor and would get really excited when we showed them signs so that was fun to see. The signs are actually really simple to do and easy to remember. Now we just have to be consistent with Addy in teaching her.
Hope everyone has a great day :)

Another bad night with Aimee. She was up around 3:00 and coughed for an hour before I got her back down. Poor thing threw up twice she was coughing so hard. I hope this medicine kicks in.
Breastfeeding and sick babies - I have to say, I feel a little jipped on the whole bf thing. BFing was really hard and the primary reason I kept telling myself to keep going was that Aimee would have this great immune system. Well, the poor child has been sick constantly since she went to daycare. I know it is normal for daycare kids to be sick, but I really thought the BF would make a difference. It's going to make BFing #2 (whenever that happens) a lot more discouraging. I'll do it anyway, but I kinda feel like I went through all of that for nothing! I know, I should be happy that I was able to BF, but I really wanted to see a difference. Does that make sense?
Fifibee - that would be great to get together. Maybe we could meet this summer at one of the local zoo's or something. Just a thought.
Jo&sean - very cool with the sign language class. We have been doing milk and eat with Aimee for months. I think she sometimes makes the sign for milk, but I'm not really good at watching out for it. She definitely knows what it means when we do it, but not sure she gets the reinforcement when she does it back. I also don't know if they are doing it at daycare. We asked them to, but not sure if they followed through.
DH and I are headed out tomorrow for a long weekend of off-roading in the Nevada desert. I just hope Aimee doesn't get too bored being in her carseat all day.

Kay - I couldn't agree more - yes, my baby sleeps like cr*p, but I have a baby...two of my friends have been trying for years with no success, my other friend is going through chemo/radiation and chances of her ever having kids isn't very good..I am blessed. Sorry about your blocked ducts...i can imagine that it is painful!
Cr8nme hope you feel better!
Jo - the sign class sounds like a lot of fun! And what a cute story about Addison and Bobby - how old is Bobby that he is giving out hugs? That really is just too cute!
Allison - the boob comment made me laugh - Ashley isn't much on bottles these days either - but oaties/puffs - OMG - now that she has figured out how to cram them into her mouth - she can't move fast enough.
Beach - the fair sounds like lots of fun. And I am jealous that you get to chase Henry..Ashley refuses to move anywhere.
Well, today is one of the days where I just ache being away from her. I actually cried at lunch because I miss her so bad. But, next week I will be with her ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!
So, MIL is supposed to drop off the pack and play that I need tonight that she has been holding hostage...pray that she follows through or else A will have no where to sleep at the beach (did I mention how much I hate this woman??)

Brink - cross posted. I am so sorry about Aimee and the whole breastfeeding thing. I am sure there were/are tons of benefits to breastfeeding but it is probaby very hard to see that due to the fact that she is still sick a lot. I am sorry.

brink here's what i think about the whole "breastfeeding for boosting immunity" thing (not that you asked :) ) it's actually good for your kids to get sick sometimes... that's what builds their immune systems. i'm sure breastmilk is beneficial that way but i think getting sick helps even more. if your kid lives in a germ-free & sanitized world, they'd never get immunities and sicknesses will just be harder to shake as they get older. kwim? you shouldn't feel slighted about breastfeeding... there are sooo many other benefits that come with it. and not everyone can do it, ya know?

brink - one quick story to share. My DH's boss went back to work at 12 weeks and BF'd/pumped exclusively for 6 months and then went exclusively to formula for months 6-12. Her DD was sick ALOT. For the first 6m she got colds, 1 ear infection and a couple of respiratory infections. When she stopped nursing at 6 months, her DD was hospitalized twice with pnemonia, had several double ear infections that ended in tubes and got the flu (she wasn't hospitalized, but had an in home nurse come to do breathing treatments.) Totally unrelated to the switch from BM to formula? Maybe, but I thought it was interesting. Maybe your BM is keeping her from getting something really serious. Also I try to look at the long term benefits too - maybe that would help you. You are doing such an amazing thing eventhough you aren't feeling like you are getting the "rewards" that you were hoping for!
charmcity - I agree that some people are too anti- bacteria crazy - I had a mom in my playgroup freak when I was letting A play with a worm (he was just touching it) She kept saying how dirty it was:)
jo - That is so neat about the signing class - I think that you might be surprised at how fast she picks them up!
cr8zy - I hope that your day goes quickly so that you can give A a hug. Are you going away with A next week?
Kay - One of my boobs is more "plugged":) I find that the warm heat helps the most.

plugged ducts better thanks for all your well wishes as far as the ducts go. It's better, but it's stil painful to b/f. I thought I got past that stage a LONG time ago but I guess not.
Today Kaito sat in a shopping cart for the first time. Even these small things feel like big feats for me. Usually I would save grocery shopping for after he went to sleep but now I can go with him.
He laughs at the strangest things. He laughs when my husband puts on a bike helmet, when I open a cabinet.
bay area - I'm in SF!
So many babies, so little time!
Will write more later...I am swamped, tired, and need to sleep.
As for the BA ladies...me too! I think a get together, perhaps in June or later, would be fantastic. I can get to PA pretty easily. The zoo sounds fun, though my baby is still pretty (well...totally) clueless.

Ack- where have I been! A whole spankin' new thread!
I've got a lot of catching up to do....
As far as BF and immunity ...breastfeeding was a disaster for us - really didn't work at all, so Naomi has been primarily formula fed since the beginning. She's had some illnesses, but nothing TOO serious (thank God). Howver, she's also not in daycare - I guess when she's around other kids more it will really be the true test.
baby constipation= NOT FUN!!!!! Sorry to be gross, but I want to throw this out there in case anyone else is struggling with it. We've had a horrid week with this - she went three days with no poop, then she was in SO MUCH PAIN trying to go. Literally screaming and bright red, and it came out hard. She immediately got blocked up again - went almost 4 days. I tried everyhting - pears, prunes, water, diluted prune juice...the prune juice worked a little. Finally called the pediatrician out of despiration and she had me give her tylenol for the cramping and a glycerine suppository. The suppository worked after two hours. The ped said to go back to her basic baby foods (I'd been giving her lots of new things) and slowly re-introduce all the fun new foods so that I can figure out what caused the problem. Just FYI.

It will be a long drive for us, so I think we are going to leave at Henry's bedtime tonight in hopes he will sleep most of the way in the car. This is our first trip over one hour with him.
I'm also shocked at how much crap we have to pack! Good Grief! and I pride myself on being a light packer!
BreastFeedingI think it works! At least it has for us. Henry has only been sick once, and it was just a mysterious fever. Plus, I love it :o It makes me feel so close to him.

Hi all. I have been a little MIA for a few days. Life, as always, is moving so fast it seems in our house. We are going to be listing our house again soon. We found a builder and the perfect house. So we are just waiting to see if he can build it for what we can afford to pay. If we can, the search for land is on! We are thinking we are going to be moving back to West Virginia. Pennsylvania is way too expensive (property taxes are 6 times as high for the same amount of land/house). Plus its closer for me to get to work anyway, and an easy commute back to the city if I end up back there eventually.
We are going on vacation on the 20th (only 9 days from now  )It came up so fast! We are going to San Diego!! I am super excited. The only thing I have gotten to see in CA before is LAX ;)
As far as Ava is concerned, she is doing just great. No teeth, no crawling yet though. She is a talker as well. She seems to be developing those skills first. Fine by me! She has gotten lots and lots of new foods lately, and we are starting to feed her from our food now too (just mashed up a lot). We bought some of those Tyson chicken strips and we chop it in our food processer and she likes that MUCH better than the jarred stuff. Gross! lol It smelled like catfood! ha ha
I will be updating the thread shortly. Sorry for a lack of updates for the past few days!
Oh, and as far as breastfeeding is concerned, I often feel like I failed Ava by not being able to breastfeed. I feel like its my fault she was so sick. So this is kind of a sore subject with me. I don't mean in to come across as "lets not talk about it" but its hard to be continually reminded of my failure. The one good thing that I feel like I did for her was pull her out of daycare to let help her with the rate of her germ exposure. I was so pro-daycare until she ended up in the hospital. I know that all babies are different, but its hard to not blame yourself in instances like that. I hope that didn't some off as preachy or anything. Just the subject kind of brought that up in my mind again. I am jsut so glad Ava has been relatively healthy for over a month now, and I sure hope that all of the other sick little ones get better soon.
And Brink, Please feel free to PM me with any specific questions about bronchiolitis, asthma, albuterol, etc. (one thing you might want to ask from your doc if she gets really wired on the albuterol is another steroid called Zoponex....that is what we switched Ava to, and it seems to make her less hyped up)
Have a great day guys!

I find if I put her back to the door and load her down with toys she is fine - as long as she doesn't see me walk away she is fine for a few minutes. She has also started fussing a bit when I leave her at daycare which is very stressful for me.

SA - YES and IT.IS.KILLING.ME!!! I cannot go to the bathroom without her crying even if I leave the door open so she can see me. I cannot get up from the table to get a napkin without her drama. BLAH! It is so hard and I feel like every waking minute is spent holding her. I am hoping as her crawling gets better, that she can follow me around and I won't always have to be holding her. I really don't think that there is anything we can do - it won't help to leave them crying, probably that would make it worse. I think that we just have to wait it out.

We are starting to see signs of SA too. Mostly with me but DH has experienced it too when he has dropped her at school this week. At home, she will start crying when I set her down and I have been able to hug and reassure her then offer her one of her favorite toys while getting really excited about it. Addison loves it when you clap and say "yeah" to her so I do that and then she is fine. I can only hope this will continue to work for her! I can't imagine what it must feel like for them.
Cr8zy - Have FUN on your trip!! You deserve a break!
Andrea - That is a beautiful dress and a great price too :)
Alison - Glad you were able to fish that sticker out of C's mouth. Sounds like she is determined :)
Nothing new here - just so glad it is Friday. We are going out to dinner with the IL's tonight. I am not sure how Addison will tolerate sitting in a resturaunt now that she is mobile. I guess we will see!
Today is Addison's long awaited appointment with the pediatric opthamologist. We are hoping that he will agree to have her tear duct unblocked. Her poor eye is just horrible.
Addison has decided that the phone is her favorite toy ever. Doesn't matter if it is a mobile, land line or toy phone. She must have a phone! How did she learn that? I hardly ever talk on the phone while I am at home. DH does though - she must have picked the idea up from him? She even puts it to her ear and jabbers in it just like she is talking to someone. Next thing she will imitate is typing and checking email....

Thanks for all the well wishes at the beach. I really can’t wait to go and I can’t wait to spend an entire week with my baby!! And I will take lots of photos – I have slacked – I don’t think I’ve taken one picture since Easter..bad mommy.
Jo – Ashley also loves to clap when I clap and say “Yeah” and yes – I read somewhere that at this age, babies cannot understand that just because you cannot see something/someone – that does not mean it does not exist. So, it is probably very scary for them.
Funny story – my mom came up and got A last night so that I could get my hair cut. Well, my mom gave her a bath and she said from a sitting position, she kept bending herself in half and putting her head between her legs and sucking up the water…and gagging. I think she was thirsty…so today I sent her to school with her sippy cup…I think she was thirsty..how horrible – she was so thirsty she was trying to suck up bath water.

Walking well I am IN TROUBLE...We got Huter this walker tuesday night. He was a bit overwhelmed by the speed of it and kept falling sideways and frontways. After a day of using it he has MASTERED it. He doesn't even need us to hold him anymore. He cruises around the house..amazing! DH bet me that in 2 weeks and he will be walking. If only he would pull himself up from laying to sitting rather than getting on his side he would probably pull himself up like Caitlin (oh my gosh-Scary moment Alison!) But I am happy he is almost walking because all DS wants me to do is hold his hands so he can show me around the house!! It's a killer on the back!
Here is a pic of Hunter "walking" before he could do it on his own (that's my MIL behind him) I think his tongue gives him balance (LOL)

We have also started to give him more food off our plates (ground up steak-he threw up after that one) mashed potatoes, pasta, etc. SO much better than the nasty jarred stuff. I just find that we eat later and I feed him 2 little meals-not a good idea.
Oh and regarding the PHONE Just take a look at this picture-H is obsessed with the cell phone, house phone and remote!

Thanks. less than a month. When we went in for his last adjustment last week they said they can't do any more adjustments so once he starts getting red spots from it being too tight again (should be in a few weeks) he's done. We bring him back for "after" pictures and measurements then bring him back in a month for more measurements just to make sure the progress doesn't "regress".

I woke up at 7:30 (that is sleeping in around here:)) and DH had taken the kids in their pj's to get Starbucks. He and Aidan made pancakes and cleaned up. Then we all went to a park and DH wore Caitlin and played with Aidan while I read the newspaper. Then we out with my family for an early dinner. I also got 3 cards, white roses and a silver keychain locket that has Aidan and Caitlin engraved on one side and their picture in the locket in the other. A very nice day!
Have a great week!

HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY!!!
I hope you had a good day with your families.
Here was Kaito's mother's day present for me.... wake up at midnight, 3AM, 5AM, (at which point I brought him into our bed)and then up and ready to go at 6:15. But even with all of that I couldn't help but smile when I looked at him, especially when I glanced over at him between 5 and 6:15, pressed up all close to me in peaceful slumber.

The whole weekend was pampering for me-haircut and color, manicure and then shopping.
Hunter gave me a card before DH made me breakfast-he convince Daddy to give me money to go shopping. So I went and then relaxed the whole day.
It was wonderful!

ditto here. but in all fairness dh did ask me what I wanted for mothers day and I never gave him an answer. And we overslept and had to rush to get to MIL's for her birthday so I didn't get breakfast either (DH makes awsome omelets). Once I decide what I want I'll get something. It would be nice if he could take the initiative and get something himself without always asking what I want but I suppose he wants to make sure I get something I want instead of just something to get something

Hi everyone. I hope you all had wonderful mother's days. Mine was a bust. We left town last Thursday and had a good weekend and then had to travel home yesterday. DH got me a card in the morning and then basically forgot it was mothers day for the rest of the day. Aimee did fairly well on the 7 hour drive home, but I had to ride in the back with her part of the way. Then last night I told DH it would be nice if he made dinner and by 7:30 when he hadn't, I stormed into the kitchen and made it myself. He had asked me last week what I wanted, there were a pair of cheap earrings that I wanted and he couldn't even find the time to get those! Men! We'll just see how he likes it on Father's Day!
I'm a little concerned about Aimee this morning. We were in the sun a lot over the weekend and I kep her really well hydrated, but she hasn't had a wet diaper since yesterday afternoon. She has been drinking a ton and her mouth is wet, so no signs of dehydration there, but I'm really concerned that she hasn't had a wet diaper in so long. If she doesn't have one in the next 1/2 hour, I'm calling the ped.

Hi Everyone. My mothers day was a bust too. No card, no nothing. I don't care about getting gifts but the fact that DH couldn't even get me a card really hurt me. Addison made me a card at school and he tossed it on my desk like it meant absolutely nothing. Plus, it was all wrinkled because he shoved it in his pocket without paying attention to what it was. I flattened it out the best I could and put it in my memory box. Then he had the audacity to continue to harass me about ordering his golf bag - he picked one out for his birthday which was the weekend prior - over and over he kept pestering me about it. Needless to say, I didn't talk to him much yesterday. Still upsets me today.
Anywho. Addison had her appointment with the opthamologist on Friday. He couldn't do anything about the blocked tear duct in the office so she is scheduled for an outpatient procedure at the hospital next Tuesday. I am really nervous about it - she has to go under anethesia and be hooked up to IV's for a five minute procedure. I know there is no other way to do it safely but still makes me worry about my baby. I know in the end, we will be so thankful for it being fixed. She will have big, clear blue eyes at last!

I'm sorry to those of you who's moms day wasn't so great :(
QOTD What do you put your baby to bed in diaper wise? We're using huggies overnights, which I can only find size 3 at drugstore.com, but I'm out of them and until my next order comes in I'm doubling up on the diaper at night. What is the difference between regular huggies and huggies supreme?

Quick post - 4 of us here fighting over the computer. So sorry about the sick babies...
Jo - I will be thinking of Addison - I can't imagine how scary this must be.
Brink - I would also be concerned about no wet diapers.
My Mother's Day was also a bust - Dh was supposed to come home Friday night to take us to dinner early but didn't show up until 8 pm...and then he worked all day on Saturday - so I only saw him for about 15 minutes before we hit the road for the beach. My MIL did get a very nice bracelet from A to me and a very nice card which made me cry and my mom and sister got me a very nice card. DH did get me a basket from Bath and Body Works...but it was only because he made me cry Friday night.
Oh, and it hasn't stopped raining since we got here....and all Ashley wanted to do was eat sand on the beach

Thank you everyone for your concern about Addison's procedure. I am really, for the lack of a better word, totally freaked out by it. I know it will be ok and I am sure I am just a little more emotional about everything after having such a crappy day yesterday. I hope it subsides otherwise I am going to need a valium! I went and pre-registered her this afternoon and the office staff was amazing so that made me feel a bit better. I can't even begin to imagine having to see a baby through major surgery or anything really serious happen. My hat goes off to those mommy's who have had to deal with issues like that.
Dbers - What wonderful pictures!! Look at Alex's smile :) I am so glad her ear infection cleared up and that you guys had a great vacation.
Cr8zy - Sorry that it is raining where you are - at least you can relax a little. Has Ashley really ate any sand?! I can totally see the babies being really curious about it.

Hi Everyone!
We've been gone for a few days so I am pretty behind. I don't know about you guys but I felt really special on my first mother's day. I felt like I was officially part of 'the club'. It was so, so nice when strangers wished me a happy MD. Very cool.
We were away at a wedding. I must highly recommend Sandestin resort if anyone is looking for a vacation with the bambino. It is in the panhandle of Florida. We had a super time. The resort was very nice, and so kid friendly. The pool was fabulous. It was so gradually sloped (like a beach), and the majority of the huge pool was only 2.5 ft deep. So perfect for kids. (there was a 4 ft area too). The other great thing was that there were about 15 or so restaurants at the resort in a fake downtown area that was a 3 minute walk from our room. They weren't run by the hotel, so the food was actually good etc. There was everything from pizza, to an oyster house, sushi, breakfast to fine dining. So convenient. We got "to go" a couple of times just because Henry was so tired. Anyway, a great time.
Exciting to hear about your new biz, Nikki. So you're a photoshop expert? I don't need invites, but there are a few other photoshop things I would pay someone to do for me (t-shirt designs, and making things I could upload to shutterfly to print)
Brink--That is so scary about no wet diapers. What happened?
Mandy-How cool about Hunter and the walking toy! I've been debating about getting Henry one. I'm honestly not sure I want to promote walking. LOL Great pics.
Solongtogo- We use Huggies overnights. I've gotten size 4 at Walmart.
I hope things go well with Addie's surgery. Henry's tear duct was blocked for a while, but it cleared up on its own. I know how it feels to be worrying about it.
Cute pics of Naomi. What a bargain!
Does anyone else's kid get confused for the opposite gender? I mean, I swore I wouldn't be one of those mom's who got all pissy about it. But seriously people he is a BOY. He isn't wearing a dress or a bow or pink! What is the problem? Does he look feminine?
I also have to say, I love Henry! He is sooo, amazing. I just love watching him observe and learn about the world. We were sitting in rocking chairs at the resort and he was watching this little bird pecking crumbs in the sidewalk. I got choked up just watching him be so interested and so excited. I just love the look of curiosity on his face! I really feel so blessed to get to be his mom. I was so scared about being a mother....and I just can't believe I even considered not doing it.... It's just such a cool experience.

unfortunately quite often--with both boys. Granted the last time someone said "she" about Alex he was dressed in rather "neutral" outfit but we used to have people comment on "she" with Colin all the time when he was most obviously dressed like a boy--I think it was his blonde blonde curls that threw people with him but with Alex I have no clue what it is.

baby gender i really think people pay no attention whatsoever to what your baby is wearing...football jersey or tutu... they just see "baby!"
cr8zy whoa! mil can be nice at times, huh?
jo sorry that you have to endure such anxiety over such a short procedure... one that i am sure is going to turn out fine.
mother's day it was nice. dh made me breakfast (and it was good! --he doesn't cook. at. all.) we went to the zoo and i got a ring with j&z's birthstone. i can't say that i love the ring, and as it turns out, it's really uncomfortable to wear so i may have it re-worked a bit. we also had dinner at my mom's with the ils. all in all, a nice day. sorry some of you had bad ones.
we had our 9mo. wbv yesterday:
jake- weight 18lbs 12oz, height 28"
zoe- weight 16lbs 4oz, height 27"
dh actually bet me that jake would be 25lbs.
the doc was very happy with their growth and development. even commented that you'd never know they were preemies. :)
zoe has an ear infection and was prescribed amoxicillin. the doc was checking her ears and she had alot of wax buildup so doc had to dig in there to clear it out so she could see the eardrum. well, i've never heard zoe scream and cry so badly. it was awful. her head was so red that i thought it might explode. then she had to have a shot. so her day wasn't so great.
but jake's was pretty bad too. he did really great at the doc office and didn't even cry when he got his shot. but when we got home, i put him in the co-sleeper so he could nap and went into the living room to snuggle and nap with zoe. then i heard a loud thump. it took a good 10 seconds for it to register that it was jake. so i went in and he was on the floor  :( he didn't really cry until he saw me and i picked him up and he went right to sleep. i was on the fence about taking him to the er/doc but he had no bumps or bruises. i had to meet dh at may parents so we could all go to dinner and everyone convinced me that jake was fine and that it would be the first of many falls so we didn't have him checked out. he's totally fine and as usual, mommy probably hurt more than baby.
so we went out to dinner with my family. we haven't brought the babes to a restaurant since they were really small, but the did great. we put them in highchairs and gave them applesauce and each had a few fries (bad mommy! but they had a bad day and deserved a treat).
we are off to the beach on thursday for 10 days...woo hoo. some of my friends from nyc are going to be there for memorial day weekend so we are going to spend a few days at their place on the tail-end of our trip. one has an 18mo old and the other has a 7.5mo old. so that should be fun. any advice on what to pack and what to leave at home is welcome! the day after we get home is my annual family reunion, so that should be fun as well.

I am so sorry that Mother's Day was a bust for many of you - that is your day and I hope that your DH's do better next year because you deserve it!

solong - We use the regular Huggies at night, but I also change her at 2am when I feed her. When I stop changing her, I will switch to the Overnights.
Brink - Glad A is doing better.
gender - I still get asked occasionally. Cailtin wears some red and yellow so I can understand. Funny that I most often get asked when she is wearing pink or purple.

Hi guys! Sorry I have been a bit MIA. As usual, my life is in overdrive mode. I really think I am going to be living like this until I die, lol!! I like it this way though. Lots always going on!
Anyhoo -- Happy Belated Mother's Day and I am so sorry for those of you that didn't have a great one. Phil got me some scrapbooking things, and I card from him, the cats, and, of course, Ava. All of them were very cute and sweet. I ended up cooking that day for everyone, but I enjoy cooking a big meal now and then, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I got in a fight with my mom the day before, we made up on Mother's Day so all was ok with that.
In other news...We are going on vacation starting Saturday. We are going to San Diego and staying on the beach, so I am super excited about that!!!
We are going to be building our own home soon!!! If you want to learn more about it and see some pics, etc. friend me on LJ and I will give you the links. So, we have seen about 20 lots, and have our plans and budget all ready to go with the contractor. All we need to do is sell our townhouse, which we are listing when we get back from vacation!!!
Ava is doing well! She hasn't been sick in almost 2 months, so that is a HUGE feat for us! Yay! She is doing baby push ups now, and I think is just flat out refusing to crawl. I am pretty sure we need to get her a walker soon. She says mama and dada all the time now, and just this morning she looked at her stuffed duck and said "Duh" so I wonder if she will be saying more words soon! We have her 9 month WBV on the 31st! Crazy. I can't believe that she is almost 9 mos old.
So, I will leave you with a few pictures of us from Mother's Day!!!

Thank you everyone for your concern about Addison's procedure next week. I spoke with the head nurse who will be in the room with her and feel so much better about everything. We will get to be with her until they put the little gas mask on (that to me sounds like the WORST thing ever!) and then they will come get us as soon as she wakes. She said we should only be seperated for 30 minutes max. She said it is highly unlikely that they will do an IV even because the procedure itself is so short. She said most are less than five minutes. I was really appreciative of her care and concern- they go through stuff like this everyday but we don't. She was so concerned about my comfort and reassured me that Addison would be in excellent hands. Now I don't feel so scared about it. I am so excited that she will wake up with clear eyes soon! This morning was awful and her eyes was really sore so I think she might be getting an infection again. Ugh.
Cr8nme - Congrats on the new townhouse. Didn't you guys just finsih remodeling your current home? You are braver than me!!
Nikki - Congrats on your business venture. The templates look great.
Solongtogo - We are still using the cheap diapers from wal-mart but I just bought some size 4 kirkland brand dipes because she needs a bigger size now. With the cheap brands, we haven't had issues with leaks - I only had leaks with pampers and huggies.
Alison - Look at C pulling herself up!
Charm - So sorry about the rough day with the babies. Hope they are doing better today.
Gender Confusion - We get it all the time even though she wears a lot of pink and "girly" colors. She has a really cute pair of blue pants and everytime she wears them - even though the shirt is total girl - people always call her a he. Whatever...

mother's day -- add me to the list of "nothing spectacular" on mother's day. actually, it wasn't much of DH's fault. MIL decided that she wanted to spend the day with her friends so we had to go celebrate mother's day with her and her friends. oh well.

The legs come off so you can play with it on the ground, but she likes it with two legs on and then she can sit in front of it and play. It sings and plays music (ABC's and counting 1-10.)
She also loves those Livestrong bracelets, nesting cups (spread around the room so she has to crawl around to get them all) and balls. She is not really into toys right now because she just wants to be crawling.

Fifibee~ Actually oddly enough I can walk into a space and know what I want to do with it...my husband ALWAYS says "thats not going to look right" however it always does :) Actaully I already have a color scheme picked out...cabinets and granite I have an idea of what I want and the appliances are already picked as well. We will be pulling up all the old carpet and putting down dark wood flooring like a mohongany.

qotd--anything that isn't a toy... cords, newspapers, dog toys.... :) He plays with whatever he can get his hands on--most my 2 1/2 year old's toys.
I'm so annoyed. I just got back from a quick trip to the mall to try to find some new summer clothes--I have a tummy I haven't had time to tone and since I'm still BFing I have large (for me) bb's. All the cute little baby-doll type tops seemed promising but after trying some on they all seem to be for women with no bb's at all--the ones I found that would cover the nursing bra were so low cut it was frightening. Sigh. I have work clothes but I just wanted a few cute little tops to wear on the weekends etc. I guess I'll probably just stick with basic t-shirts this summer. :(

Charm - Addy had the same experience while on amoxicillan. Our ped warned us that was one of the side affects...hope it gets better for her. I bet sans diaper is such a relief for her.
QOTD - Phones and paper are #1 on her list and dog and cat toys are not far behind, For real toys though - her favorites right now are just basic things like balls (she LOVES to play "catch"), stackers, cups and blocks. She also plays with these a lot right now:

We took her to the urgent care last night because of the rash and they said it was part of the viral infection and to just take her home and give her tylenol. Ugh!
Hope everyone is doing great!

Sigh.
Jo- I can totally understand how upset you are about Addsion's upcoming procedure. I freaked when I had to give Naomi a suppository! It sounds like she's in great hands though - I'll be thinking about her!
Brink- I'm so sorry Aimee is sick.:(
Mother's Day was nice. I got to sleep in until 7AM:rolleyes: ! I received lovely cards form Rich and Naomi, flowers from the baby, and a Starbucks gift card from Rich! HA! Think I've been complaining about being tired too often? We made brunch for Rich's Mom and her boyfriend and Rich's bro and his girlfriend. Low key and sweet.
I'd like to get an opinion from you guys - I don't think I've talked about it much in here, but I am an actress (among other things). My manager told me that she wants to submit Naomi for commercials as well. I don't see myself as a stage-Mom type, but hey, if the kiddo can earn some money for her college education before she understands how cr*ppy the biz is, I'm all for it! So here's the question: Naomi needs a "headshot." Which for babies is just a really nice snapshot that is submitted to casting directors updated every few months. I've narrowed it down to two pictures. Since you all are the "target audience," which one of these do you like better? Whic one makes you go: "Wow, what's that kid selling? I wanna buy it!" ;)

Today is our 4th Anniversary and I must say DH made up very well for everything. Finally. I also received my new Palm Treo so I am excited about having a new toy to play with ;) Addison is doing great but she is starting to get really congested again. I am hoping it is teething related and not another cold. I am so glad tomorrow is Friday - after getting up with her almost every hour, I need some R & R.

Hi Everyone!
Andrea - I love both pics, but for a headshot, I would also use the first one. I'm sure that solongtogo can make it very "professional" for you! Naomi is such a little doll!
jo - congratulations on your 4 year anniversary! Also, I have been thinking of you & Addison w/ her upcoming procedure. I'm sure it will be tough, but totally worth it! hugs to you & the family!
brink - sorry to hear that Aimee is sick again. Trust me, we've been through the ringer these past 4 months. One of us is *always* sick & it is very wearing, both physically AND mentally. Give that little girl a big hug from all of the cc mamas!
randysmandy - cute pics of Hunter with his walker! Glad that you got some time to yourself this mother's day... it's a rare thing these days!
charm - how are you holding up with your little firecrackers? Hope you have a great time at the beach!
favorite toy - anything that is *not* supposed to be a toy! Primarily wires, dog hair, paper, etc.! Although she really likes to stand up on the *outside* of her exersaucer and play with the toys.
cr8nme - congratulations on the new townhouse! when are you & Noelle moving to TX? In the summer?
nikki - LOVE the new templates! The ones with Ava are so darling, of course! Good luck with your business!
hmbay - I sympathize on the clothes... none of my old clothes are fitting me right, but I don't want to spend any money on new clothes either! (and seriously, when do I have the time??) It is frustrating to get ready in the am!
wildcat - saw the darling pics of Lauren in her Gymboree wardrobe... could she be any cuter? LOVE the pigtails!!
So Lily can go from laying on her back, to sitting, to pulling herself up! And she is lightening fast! And she crawls like crazy too! She followed me into the kitchen, crying, which was both sad and cute. She is definitely suffering from some separation anxiety, which is tough on both of us. Also she is NOT SLEEPING! I am so tired of being a human pacifier...
Otherwise, things are good here! We have been doing a lot of cruising in her new jogging stroller. Dang i love that thing! Hope everyone has a great day, kisses to all of the babies. :)

Happy Friday Everyone!
Andrea - I like the first pic too. I would love to see the one that solongtogo alters for you. I'm always amazed at how people can change pictures.
Jo&sean - Happy Anniversary - I hope you had a great evening.
Pixiecat - so cool about Lily following you. She was born 2 days after Aimee and she still does NOTHING! She sits up by herself, but no rolling over and definitely no crawling or pulling herself up.
Well, my new idea - we might be moving. Since I got approval to work from home a couple of days per week, I've been thinking about where we live. We are out in Walnut Creek and our mortgage is HUGE and I'm the sole provider right now (well, DH earns some income on side jobs, but I'm the primary). So, I thought maybe we would move up to the foothills (Auburn for those of you who know where that is) and commute 2-3 days per week back to Marin. It's about a 2 hour drive one way. I'm already commuting 1 hour, so it would be about double. Our quality of life and extra spending cash would be such a big difference. We are weighing the options right now. I think I might be crazy!!!!
Aimee still has a rash from head to toe, but she hasn't thrown up for over 24 hours, so maybe we are on the down side of this infection.

Alison - The pics are both great but I like the first one best too. Can't wait to see what Solong does with it.
Pixiecat - Thank you for the well wishes on Addison's procedure. I am getting more and more excited about it. I am sorry that Lily isn't sleeping very well. Addison follows me around too - it is too cute! She has this really funny laugh when she is crawling "to get you" then she pulls herself up on my leg and goes "grrrrrrrr". It is really funny.
Brink - Poor Aimmee - I hope the rash goes away soon. That can't be comfortable. That is exciting about possibly moving. You just got your house finished though! I know what you mean by having a lower mortgage. We bought way under what the bankers said we could techincally afford because we didn't want to be married to our house. Having a low payment allows us to do more - from saving to spending.
Thank you for all the Happy Anniversary wishes. We had a nice evening and had fun playing with Addison. We are going out to dinner tonight to a nice Itallian place that we haven't tried yet. Yum!
We have a big festival going on in town this weekend so we are taking Addison to the park to stroll around and watch some of the parade. She will like all the music and things to see.

Andrea~ Although Noelle can pick up ANYTHING and put it in her mouth I have noticed that she doesn't fully chew on most things and so I haven't given her any of that she sometimes gets gerber puffs but they disolve quickly. Yesterday I let her taste watermelon and she bit a piece off and choked and threw up :(

Andrea - I have been doing finger foods for a couple of weeks now, but C has always prefered lumpy food and self feeding. She likes small pieces (like the size of a pea) of banana, watermelon, pear, Oaties, puffs, toast and sweet potatoe. She has never gagged on anything so I keep adding new things. Does N do well with a chunkier puree? You should try some things - ripe banana and puffs are probably the easiest. If she gags a bit than maybe she isn't ready, but babies can mash alot of things without teeth. I remember my son was eating cheese toast at 10 months with only his 4 front teeth. C loves to feed herself and her hand-eye/fine motor has improved so much. She can pick up one oatie with her thumb and first finger now where as a couple of weeks ago she would grab it with her whole hand.
Poor Caitlin - her knees and the tops of her feet are so red and raw from crawling. I put Aquafor on them tonight. I think that they were bothering her tonight because instead of crawling, she kept doing downward dog:)
Have a GREAT weekend!!!

Andrea Hunter gagged on puffs, but we kept trying and trying til he got used to them. Now he eats mashed potatoes, chunks of melon and toast. We put the puffs in his cheek, if we put them on his tongue he would puke. Eventually he liked stuff on his tongue!
Sandie Zach is beautiful-oops-handsome!

Finger Foods
We haven't done the gerber puffs yet because they have wheat. I read on wholesomebabyfood not to do wheat till 10 mo...which seems odd because most kids will be chewing well by then I would think:confused:
We started with Oatios, which we found at the healthfood store. They are like cherios but made with oat flour instead of wheat flour.
After that we have done some veggies. Veggies that are steamed for a really long time seem to work well for us (carrots, green beans, avacado (raw obviously)).
I think the key is that you want things that break down with siliva and some mashing.
Things are good here....Henry is so much fun and such a joy....
Well except for bedtime. I really am dying here. For the past month or two he has been up every 2 hours without fail. It is exhausting. He will not go back down without nursing. I have been so opposed to CIO, but I really don't know what else to do...well other than keep getting up...I just don't know how much longer I can...I am so, tired.
What finally happened with Ashley's sleeping? I haven't heard anything in a while.

Andrea - Sorry for refering to you as Alison! It must be a mental block when it comes to typing because I think of you as Andrea and Naomi :). As far as finger foods - Addy has been eating these for about a month now after she started not wanting to eat purees much. She has done really well with everything we have given her. We started with banana and avacado chunks and now she eats chunks of pretty much everything. Our current staples: blueberries (ran through the process while frozen so they break into just the right size), squash, potatoes (all kinds), cottage cheese, string cheese, cooked tofu chunks, peas, noodles...I guess I could go on and on :)
Alison - Addy's knees are like that too! Isn't seeing them in downward dog one of the cutest things!? I love seeing Addy do it.

Hi all. We had a nice weekend - I hope that you all did also. I was gone Sat morning for 3 hours so DH took both kids to the park, train table and cooked and fed them lunch. Caitlin is all over the place so we did a bit of babyproofing today. Her knees still look bad so I might try some cut off socks before I buy kneepads (thanks Cr8nme!) So her sleep has been weird - I think that it must have to do with all of the crawling. It takes her 10-15 minutes to settle down before her naps - now when she wakes up I find her putting all of her pacifiers over the side of the bed, or pulling up to a stand in the crib. She has been taking a short am nap and a super long pm nap. She also loves to follow Aidan all over the house - so cute, but of course he thinks it is terrible and if she touches him he freaks! Oh to be 2.5;) Today Caitlin had her first dairy - cottage cheese, and it was a hit. I mixed it with peaches and oatmeal and she was making mmmm sounds while she ate.
Beachbum - I have no sleep advice - DS was a poor sleeper too. Can your DH go in occasionally and try to soothe him without you having to nurse him? That would obviously be good for you, but maybe it would help H not need you to nurse him back to sleep everytime.
Sandie - Cute!!!
jo - Thanks for sharing your list - I was looking for some new ideas and I forgot about tofu. Did A do OK with the cheese? I did cottage cheese today for the first time and C was fine, but string cheese is much harder.

finger food - We *just* started trying some with Lauren. Today she tried tiny pieces of potato, grapes, cantelope, honeydew, and goldfish. She's also had pickle (LOVES pickles), crackers, cucumber, green beans, and banana. She is extremely interested in what we're eating, I just get SSSOOOO terrified that she'll choke!
crawling - Lauren is starting to roll more and pull herself around to where she wants, but definitely no crawling. I imagine she will crawl eventually, right? It's giving us some extra babyproofing time, not that we've started!
I LOVE all the pictures, we do have the cutest babies in here, don't we?;)

Well, we are back and lets just say - Ashley does not travel well. I think she is cutting teeth because she was stuffy and coughing all week - she never slept more than 2 hours at a time - this went on all night, every night. HORRIBLE. Now that we are back home, she is sleeping well (well for her at least) again.
Beach - so sorry that Henry is having such a hard time...Ashley is working through her sleep issues - she is usually up twice a night which I can live with for now. I read the No Cry Sleep Solution during my vacation and will start implementing this as soon as she feels better (she is still stuffy). The only thing that gets me through the nights is thinking that this will pass and one day, I will long to hold her at night. I did just stop cold turkey with the 12 am feeding - I just started picking her up and rocking her and now I can usually just pop her pacifier back in and sneak back out. I am really sorry - I know how awful it is.
solong - you do an amazing job with photos...
I don't have time for shout outs - but I did miss you guys! It was a hard week - I envisioned this great week and because of the sleeping, it just stunk. I spent most days sleeping while others watched her.
Today dropping her off was horrible. She cried and held her arms out for me and screamed "MA MA" so I cried...and then cried all the way to work. Totally s*cks.
Fingerfoods - Ashley now wants to feed herself...she has oaties, puffies and I cut up chunks of the stuff she has already eaten (greenbeans, squash, sweet potato, pears) for her to self feed. I've also given her spiral pasta noodles. We went out to dinner a few evening and I just fed her off of my plate - she was so good. She is now holding her own bottle, and can drink out of her sippy.
Still not moving. However, I am going to order these for when she starts crawling:

We're starting to work on finger foods as well. My problem is that Courtney is too short in her high chair. I have to sit her on two phone books for her to be able to use the tray part. She isin't doing the pincher grasp yet either, just picking stuff up with her whole hand and then dropping the food on the floor. How long does it take for them to get that pinch?
Also, for those giving cantelope potato, etc, do you steam the veggie or fruit first beforehand to make it softer? Courtney is just now getting her bottom teeth poked through. Should I wait until she gets more teeth to give her finger foods??
Kay Just use photoshop to edit pictures...I'll be more than happy to play around with anyones photos if you want to send me some. Shoot me an email with your pics at lisaedwards@insightbb.com.

Well Henry must have heard me talk about CIO ;) because the last two nights he was only up 3x. Such a relief! I can deal with that...
AlisonDH is perfectly willing to help out, but since it works (DH soothing) only about 50% of the time or less we just quit. I guess we felt like we shouldn't both be awake...Maybe we will try again...I do think you're right in that nothing will change unless we take steps to change it.
photo editing I have zero, I mean zero skills. But I recently discovered the free Picasa software from google. You can't do what Lisa did, but it is good for cropping, red eye fixes, etc. And so easy to use. Way better than what I was using before. I highly recommend it for those of you who are also at the basic level :D
We had so much fun at the beach yesterday. It is such a pain to load all that crap up--but H had a blast. He ate sand, splashed around in his pool, played in the waves (with daddy). It was a lot of fun. My back got so burned, but the rest of me is fine and H is fine. I worry a lot about sun protection for him...so far so good.
Well he got his first black eye today. He was standing up at this canvas bin we use as his laundry basket and fell forward right into the tV cabinet. It is awful. His eye is all swollen under there and bruised. I feel just terrible!
Well I was goign to share some pics, but I can't get snapfish to work. Darn it!

solongtogo - Lauren has her pincher grasp down, but has no clue what to do with the food once she has it in her fingers, so she just holds it and looks at me!haha We have to actually put it in her mouth for her. As far as food...I was feeding her baked potato pieces and then just raw fruit (cantelope, honeydew, grapes). She also only has her 2 bottom teeth, so she uses them to scrape a little piece of food off while we hold it...or we give her a tiny piece to mash around in her mouth. I have also given her tiny little pieces of green beans (warmed up out of a can). Basically, whatever we're eating, I let her try for fun. So far so good. Not sure when we'll actually be giving her more "meals" of finger foods though...our ped said we'd talk at her 9 month appt. I'm just doing a little prep work;).

Oh and question about cottage cheese - doesn't this have milk? What type do you guys use?
Lactose is broken down in yogurt and cheese making it much easier to digest than straight milk. By 8-10 months, most kids (unless they have had dairy issues in the past) can do a small amount of dairy. I chose cottage cheese because it is bland, mild and has some texture. Either way just make sure that you always buy full fat dairy.
do you steam the veggie or fruit first beforehand to make it softer? Courtney is just now getting her bottom teeth poked through. Should I wait until she gets more teeth to give her finger foods??
I give fruit raw, but only do soft ones like ripe pear, peach and banana as well as watermelon and cantelope. I do steam veggies or just give what we are eating. Babies do not need teeth to eat finger foods - most kids don't have enough teeth to really use them until well after 1. They do really well using their gums to mash things. Caitlin only has one tooth and eats tons of small bits of real food. I think that it took a couple of weeks to get the pincer down - you can coat things that are slippery (banana, avocado) in crushed cherrios to make them easier to grab. As far as the high chair, I went straight to a booster and C fits in it really well and she is tiny.
cr8zy - Welcome back - I am sorry that your vacation wasn't relaxing.
BB - His first black eye - poor thing!

Cr8zy - Welcome back - I am sorry that A had so many sleep issues while gone though. At least you got a break from the regular day to day routine.
Beachbum - Poor Henry! Doesn't it just break your heart?! Addison fell over backwards and bonked her head pretty hard because I was behind and she was straining to see me. I felt horrible!!
Cr8nme - 4 at one time!! Yikes! Poor Noelle!
Cottage cheese question - We eat an organic brand and A hasn't had any issues depsite having lactose issues. She eats yogurt and string cheese just fine too.
Milk Question - Our ped gave us the ok to start introducing whole milk at 9 months. He said if we can start transitioning her to whole milk along with an infant multi-vitamin, we can get her off formula sooner. Has anyone else heard this? I want her off formula SO BAD because it is so full of crap that the milk and a multi-vitamin have to be better for her. I am not sure how she will do though since she demonstrated a healthy lactose intollerance and I don't know or think soy milk would be sufficient. Any thoughts?
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Ours was pretty laid back. Friday night we went out and had Addison all dressed up in this cute little dress. Well when we got home, we couldn't get the darn thing off of her! It was stuck! She was zonked and we didn't want to wrestle with her too much so we just let her sleep in it and I thought I would try getting her out of it when she woke up for her bottle. Well guess what? She didn't wake up once!! So I guess I should leave her in a dress everynight. It was still a total PITA to get off her in the morning (took both DH and I) so she won't be wearing that dress again anytime soon!
Tomorrow is Addison's eye procedure. I am really excited now because I just want it done! Her little eye looked so bruised this morning - all red and purple underneath! It will be heaven for her not to want to rub it so much.
Hope everyone had/has a good Monday :)

Well I must have jinxed myself because Daycare called around 11am and said that Noelle had a fever of 100.9. Well she had a fever last night as well but after tylenol it went away however I also gave her tylenol this morning as well so I guess the tylenol wore off and back came the fever...Now that I have her home her fever is 102.3  She has a doctors appointment at 4:15 so we will see.
Jo~ Good luck with her procedure tomorrow...you will be in my thoughts
Milk~ I am wondering about this as well. I currently have Noelle on Soy Next step formula by enfamil (only at daycare...I breastfeed @ home)and wondering if I should just give her soy milk when we transition or shuold I put her on whole milk???

milk--my ped says absolutely no whole milk (only formula or BM) until they are 12 months old.

jo - Everything that I have read says that babies absolutely need to be on formula or bm for at least the first year. I can't imagine why your doc would suggest that considering A's lactose issues, plus the fact that cow's milk (or soy) does not have the right combination of fat etc that a baby needs during the first year. As far as soy, it seems like there is alot of contradictory info our there concerning the hormones in soy and its long term effects (or lack there of.)
I will be thinking of you and A tomorrow!

Jo-I hope everything goes well with the surgery! I'll be thinking of you guys.

Well we are back from the hospital. Addison did GREAT! It was a little rough last night when she woke up screaming for something to eat at 3:00 am - we made the executive decision to give her an ounce and that did the trick to calm her down enough to get her back to sleep. I let her sleep right until we needed to leave and scopped her up jammies and all. We got to the hospital and they checked us in and we were in the prep area for about 30 minutes. We met all of the nurses and anesthesiologist who didn't even blink an eye when we told him we let her have some formula after midnight. He said we could have given her more! Grrr. Addison was great in the prep area - all smiles and so curious about everything. We changed her into a gown and she sat on her bed and played, talked and laughed. I was so happy that she wasn't upset and crying because she was hungry. They finally took her back for the procedure and that is when I lost it. I cried like a baby! We were in the waiting room for about 20 minutes when the doctor came out to tell us everything went great and that she was just waking up. When we got back to the recovery room, she was having a screaming fit - she was starving. We fed her and cuddled with her before changing her and getting her "instructions". Her eye looks better already! She goes back to see the doctor in a couple of weeks for a follow up and we have to put some eye drops in for the next few days but other than that we should be good to go. I am so happy that it is over with! She is zonked out right now so hopefully she will take a good nap and feel better after she gets up. I think I might need to take a snooze too!
Cr8nme - Hope Noelle feels better soon!
Cr8zy - Those pictures are great!
Beachbum - I love Henry's pirate shirt - too cute :)
Solongtogo - Court does look like she is having a lot of fun in the laundry basket :)

cute pics -- i'm so happy just looking at the most recent pics. i love all the fun, summer clothing and how our babies are definitely enjoying the sun, the water, and even the laundry basket. :)
brushing teeth -- i started a thread on the parenting forum regarding dental care (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=19346&highlight=baby+dental+care)a while back. got some great advice and so we started on the finger brushes by Orajel. i bought it at the local target store, but i'm sure you can pick it up at any major drug store.

Wow, I've been MIA for a few days and had to catch up on 4 pages! I'll try a few s/o's, sorry if I miss anyone - you guys were busy.
Kay2003 - Yes, Auburn on the other side of Sacramento. I would have to commute 3 days per week back to Marin.
Beachbum - I hope you at least got a good picture of henry's black eye. I had a friend of mine that waited until her son got a bruise and then rushed him down and got some really cute pics of him in a baseball outfit. Made him look tough! (still not easy to see, but maybe you can get something out of it).
Jo&sean - so happy to hear Addy's surgery went well. Glad she is feeling better and that Mommy made it through ok.
Cr8nme - Bummer about the ear infection. At least you have it figured out and can get her well.
Cr8zy - very cute pics of Ashley in the swimsuit.
Solongtogo - Courtney is just adorable in the bathtub.
Well, Aimee ended up having that horrible rash from head to toe for several days. It's gone now and she is back to feeling better. I think she is getting hungrier and we need to start her on more foods. The only problem is she is sooooo picky. I can feed her just about any fruit, but when it comes to veggies, she will still only eat carrots and sweet potatoes. She refuses any of the other "fun" foods (mac&cheese, etc) and forget any of the meats. I think I'm going to have to start feeding her mashed up stuff from our plates and see how she does.
We put in an offer on the house in Auburn yesterday. We offered $80k under the asking price, so I'm sure we will be going back and forth for a while. In the meantime, we met with an agent regarding our house in Walnut Creek. If all the numbers work out, we are going to make the move.
Well, back to my busy work day.

Brink - good luck with the house.
I've had a boring day. MIL had surgery on Monday - last night she called me screaming and crying hysterically because DH didn't call her to see how she did...now, this is like her 7th surgery in 8 years. She was acting nuts - screaming and cussing - it was totally insane. She said she has one son who hates her (they haven't spoken since Christmas - totally her fault) and then DH now doesn't care about her.
And then I complained to DH about it and he screamed at me - he said he was going to call her today to tell her that I can't stand her and to never call our house again- now, I know he won't do this and I know he is stressed but he could at least be a bit understanding. He said he doesn't badmouth my family - however, he only speaks or sees my family on holidays - my mom doesn't call him 50 times a week. I swear. I know I shouldn't rag on her to DH but he could take some of the pressure off of me by calling her more often. She called me every day on my vacation crying and complaining. I hate her so much. She said the only bright thing in her life is Ashley...great - isn't it?

cr8zyforaf Ashley is a doll, your MIL on the other hand is a piece of work. (Like mine) I don't understand the in-laws and never will I try. You're a good sport. My Dh is such a bad phone person that I actually dial the phone and put it to his ear- you should try it sometime-works like a charm!
Henry is such a cutie (reminds me of my little man!)
Finger Foods We are feeding H canned veggies (with no SALT) and he does pretty well with the green beans. Chomps not only with his 2 teeth, but his gums as well. My crazy MIL gives him whole peices of everything-I'm livid. I yelled at her today after she gave him a half of a GB after I said NO!
He also eats puffs, melons, steamed veggies, potatoes, pasta, and bread. New things are: blueberry flavored applesauce, cheese, and cottage cheese. He does wonderful!
Brink Good luck with the house-we are n the process of getting ous ready to sell. One downfall-the in-laws have to come with us :-(

Hunter is so freaking adorable - love the driving picture - what a great set of eyes that kid has!
fifi - thanks for the tooth information - I need to get on the ball with that.
Beach - I was thinking of going to get pictures of Ash and I and putting it in a nice frame for dad (I was planning on taking her for a nine month picture)...although dad totally flaked on Mother's Day and all I got was a cr*ppy basket of lotion from Bath and Body works. I may just go get him some cologne. I also saw a really nice silver key chain that holds a picture at Red Envelope - I may also do that with something engraved.
So, Ashley is down to only waking once a night - usually around 11-12 - sometimes I have to rock her back down, sometimes I just pop the paci back in and put my hand on her leg until she goes back down - and then she sleeps until 6-7. Usually as soon as I hear her stirring, I get up and start getting ready until she starts crying (about 20 minutes)..well this morning - I heard her stirring and then after awhile - things went totally quiet - and then I heard music...she had turned her mobile on. She was sitting in her crib looking at her birdies...totally cute.
Happy Friday - I think my mom is going to watch A tomorrow evening so DH and I an go out for our anniversary. DH wanted to ask his mom but I said no way - if she is in too much pain to go to work (she has been home all week) she is certainly not well enough to baby sit.

Father's Day
I bought a picture frame with 3 openings. I took pics of Hunter playing in his sandbox with DH--so I am going to frame all of them. Also, I bought DH a book titled-the best Daddy. I am also getting him a few round of golf at his fav gold course AND sending him to play golf on Father's Day. He usually plays 9 holes, but he will play 18 that day :)
Cr8zy maybe A is getting a tooth? IH still wakes up once a night (w/ exception to his full night last night) can't believe she turned her mobile on!! H was in his crib this morning and fell backwards and wacked his head on the wood :( I would have liked him to turn his mobile on.

randysmandy - wow - DH is a lucky man! Poor H...I am waiting for Ashley to get hurt - I need to lower her mattress - before she falls out.
If she only gets up once a night - fine by me. It sure beats getting up every few hours - I feel like a new woman.
Oh - and another idea is to get DH a man's spa day - he got a massage when we took our cruise and loved it- so I may send him (maybe I can get him a couples massage so I can get one too :) ).
There is nothing going on at work today - totally bored. I started trying to make prototype invites for A's birthday party last night- turned out cr*ppy. I am so not crafty.

randysmandy - WOO HOO!! Yeah for Hunter. No - Ashley was not standing - she cannot pull up to a stand yet - she just learned how to get up to a sit from laying down - she has the Flutterbug mobile and there is a button on the side - she was sitting up and had pushed that.
I swear - the boys are so much more mobile than the girls it seems - the one boy in A's class is all over the place- yeterday I came in the class and yelled his name - he came crawling over to me and pulled himself up to a stand using my legs..Ashley started screaming - I think she was upset that she couldn't get over to me.

Alex had her 9 month well visit today. Here are her stats:
Wt: 18lb 15 oz
Ht: 27 inches
HC: 43 cm
Looks like she's 50th % for weight and 25th % for height. She dropped off a bit in the weight percentile, but the doctor wasn't concerned. She also commented that she had been sick recently which might have caused a bit of weight loss.
She wants us to start meats now - she suggested doing table food rather than the jarred stuff... and suggested puffs over Cherios. When I mentioned that daycare was pushing Cherios, she said that it's fine, but that when she was a resident she saw an 18 month old choke on a Cherios and he ended up with brain damage because he was deprived of Oxygen!! OY!! Anyhow - she said we could break them in half or wet them a bit.
Because of our allergy concerns, she also took blood to test for allergies, as well as the normal iron test. It was so sad - they had to get a lot of blood and couldn't get a vein! They had to poke her on both arms - it took about 10 minutes :( She's fine now though.. As long as the allergy stuff comes back okay, she suggested that we try her on soy yogurt (rather than dairy).. so I'm excited about that!
I cannot believe that her next appointment will be at one year...
ETA - a couple of other interesting tidbits from our Ped.. she said once they get teeth, they don't like you to feed them right before bed or during the night because the milk can turn to sugar which can lead to cavities later on. She also took out this cool machine and tested Alexandra's eyesight! She said they're one of the few offices that do this - it's apparently new technology..pretty cool..

Dbers - That is really sad about Alex having her blood drawn. She sounds like a trooper though! Hope the tests come back ok and that she can try some soy soon.
Cry8zy - Your MIL sounds like a total PITA. That is really cool that A turned on her mobile. And yeah for her sleeping better!! That has to be a huge relief for you!
Randsymandy - Hunter is so ADORABLE!! I LOVE his driving picture - he looks like such a sweet boy - those eyes and cheeks just make you gush!
Brink - Good luck on getting your house listed and sold.
Cr8nme - Have fun at Noelles naming ceremony. Sounds like it will be fun and you will get to see a lot of family and friends.
Sorry if I missed anyone else....
Addison's eye looks so amazing! I am so happy we had the procedure done - it has been heaven to have her wake up with bright, clear eyes.
A couple of you mentioned your babies pulling themselves to a stand in the crib - Addison has been doing this for about two weeks now. She pulled herself up to a stand when she woke up the other night and when I went into her room, she scared the heck out of me - I wasn't expecting to see her smilling little face standing there looking at me! She pulls herself up to a stand on everything she can around the house now. This morning she fell twice though - she gets a little too confident then looses her balance. She is tough though. She bonked her head twice (made ME cry!) and she just cried a couple of breaths, jumped out of my arms and went right back at it. Didn't phase her at all.
I called to make her 9 month appointment and our ped doesn't do 9 month appts! She won't go back to him until 1 year!!
Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? DH is working most of the weekend trying to get a project finished up so it won't be anything too fun for us.

Hi all
I am so glad that you have started to think about Father's Day because I have no idea what to do. DH got his Lasik eye surgery done for his big gift this year, but I do want to do something. I will definetely get his favorite ground coffee and pecan coffee cake. Maybe I will try to do something with both kid's handprints. Last year Aidan got him a World's Best Dad mug and a tie:) Anyone else with ideas?
pulling up in the crib - Yup, Caitlin does that once a day or so. She thinks it is SO funny when I come in and she is standing up - she is all smiles:) The only problem is that she won't sit back down.
randymandy - Cute - i love the one in the car!
jo - I am so glad that A's eyes are already better!
dbers - Poor A!
cr8zy - That is awesome that A was only up once! I think that the couple's massage is a great idea - maybe with lunch or brunch after? Have a nice date:)
Kay - When my son weaned I actually lost weight - 5 pounds the week after! I have heard that sometimes your body holds on to a bit of extra weight while nursing just in case it needs it.
We are going back to the lake tomorrow with my family, then Sunday our friends are having a BBQ - they have 2 little kids also. There is also this thing called Territory Days here and I would like to take Aidan. They have face painting, food etc but it is going to be hot so I don't know. I hope that you all have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!!!!!
We are heading up to our cabin tonight but will come home early on Sunday to work on getting the house ready to list. We are still negotiating on the new house, but we think we will sign a counter today and open escrow next week. Very exciting but scary too.
Kay2003 - I also lost a little weight after stopping BF. But, I was on weight watchers and that helped me to regulate how much I was eating. It was hard to go from eating whatever I wanted to having to watch it again.
Cr8zy - Yeah for Ashley sleeping. You must be so relieved. Aimee also turns her mobile (aquarium) on during the night. She will sometimes turn it on around 3:00. We hear it turn on and then she goes back to sleep. Then she turns it on again in the morning. It buys us a little extra time.
Dbers - So sad about the allergy blood draw. That must have been really hard.
Fathers Day - well, since DH failed to get me anything other than a card for Mother's Day, he'll be getting the same on Father's Day.
Aimee has increased her food intake dramatically. I think she must be going into a growth spurt.
Well, off to work. Have a great weekend everyone.

Quick driveby post for today...
Kay -- I'm actually having a slightly differenet experience with weight post BF. In fact, I've gained about 10 lbs since weaning. Very scary for me. It caught me a bit off guard b/c I didn't think I was really eating that much. But then, I guess the BFing was really working the calories for me. Anyway, everyone's body responds differently, so as long as you are keeping an eye out, I'm sure you'll be fine. I wished someone had warned me sooner though, cuz I'm having some trouble losing the extra 10lbs I gained after weaning. <UGH>
Father's Day -- I was thinking of getting DH a children's book about some dad-and-son story. DH likes to read to DS so I think it'd be nice.
Have a wonderful memorial weekend, everyone!!:)

wildcat - OH MY GOD - MAJOR CUTENESS!!!
Alex is sick again :( I guess we're finally feeling the effects of daycare. She was cranky last night and kept waking up - finally I took her temperature - and it was 101.9. It's been up and down (mostly up) since then - although she just started sweating during her last nursing session, and suddenly it's down to 99.6! Hopefully it won't go back up. Of course we had all sorts of plans this weekend...but here we are at home.
Here's Alex yesterday - yes, those pants say "tush" on the tush!! :D

CUTE pics everyone!!
Alison, brink, fifi - thanks for telling me your experiences with weight and weaning. I ate like crap today and am down in the dumps about it. I am so tired and when I'm tired I stress eat and it's just been a bad eating day. Tomorrow is a new day so I hope to eat better.
I've got to get in bed - sorry for the whiny tone. I hope you all are having a good long weekend.

fifibee--I just wanted to tell you that I got my TEA stuff. It is sooo cute! I just love it and wish I would have bought more. The bad news is that I am going to have a hard time paying full price! Thanks so much for sharing the sale.
Great pics of Alex and Lauren!
Wildcat -I saw that your obsession is pics of Lauren. What do you do with them all? I haven't figured out a good way to display the pics of Henry and am looking for ideas. I hate to always replace the pics with the newest ones. It's fun to have older shots around, but I don't want to have too many.
Andrea--Along those same lines...I think your fruit obession is adorable! I too love little girls in fruit. With boys you just can't have the same fun :)
