I'm looking for some flat sandals that don't look like something my grandmother would have worn...does anyone have any ideas/suggestions of where to look? I don't like ones that only have one toe strap...I prefer many, or else a semi-thong look. And they have to have some sort of ankle strap...no slides or flip flops...I've looked at zappos, Nordies, Macys, JCrew, Banana, Kenneth Cole...can't find any I like. Help!

That's a pretty specific description, and I don't know many sandals that are made like that. Do they have to be completely flat, or is a wedge OK?

Here are a couple of styles from Payless (I like them for trendy stuff because they wear out about the same time they go out of style):

You might check Target. I got these there, and I like them.

Got a lot of compliments on these (also a few sore spots where the straps rubbed some little raw spots, but nothing a good breaking-in won't fix). They seemed to have a lot of cute summer shoes.

I just got these Sam Edelman sandals last week at Otto Tootsi Plohound. But I found them on Zappos.com (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/8329542/c/3.html) too.

I love them - the center strap running up the foot adjusts so they lay flat on your foot and fit extra well.

I got the ones mentioned by Scoutesina and MLA (I have the bronze ones)... wore them yesterday to a Renaissance faire... as Scoutesina mentioned, they did rub a few sore spots, but they're not bad. Oh and if you do get these particular ones, make sure you scuff the bottoms well or else you'll find yourself tumbling headfirst to the ground on any smooth surface, particularly hardwood, tile, etc. They seemed fine on the carpet and they got scuffed up well (on the bottom only) at the faire so they're fine now.

Oops! Didn't mean to write a book about them LOL

These are all very cute! I'm not sure how I forgot about Target, but I will have to go over there after work -- and those Payless ones are cute, too!

Question for KedzieB -- Are the San Edelman's comfy? They look it...I'll take a look at them, too.
