View Full Version : Light BFP's that turned into a real baby??

junkinmytrunk

Today is 10DPO and I got a fairly light BFP. I've been getting them since 8DPO actually -- they've gotten a bit darker each day but not TONS darker.

My question -- do you think light positives are more a sign of a chemical pregnancy rather than having a sticky baby? Sigh. I sure hope this is real --- we've been TTC for 2 years with 3 m/c's under out belt. We are actually waiting for me to get AF now to go in for IVF b/w. If this is a real baby --- I can't even tell you how excited we'd be.

So the long and short of it....if you had light BFPs -- that resulted in a happy/healthy baby, PLEASE let me know.

(PS - seeing OB tomorrow to check betas).

TIA!

I had several very faint BFPs on 9DPO (I didn't trust the first one, so I ran out and bought $50 worth of tests, including a digi one. :o ). I never tested again after that first day. I'm 35w6d pregnant today. :D

I had a light positive on probably 12DPO or 14DPO (I always waited till I was pretty sure AF was going to be late). I retested three days later and it was a good, dark line. DD will be 11 months old on Friday. :)

Thanks guys! You're making me :D ..........now if only the betas look good tomorrow and Thursday........

Here's a second part to the question...did you have implantation spotting. I am fairly sure I did, at 5-7 DPO. Once I got the BFP I started taking progesterone supps just to be safe. Anyone?

No spotting. But, I had implantation cramps for lack of a better term. I felt it for several days. A very strange feeling-like a stitch in your side.

I had very very light tests on 9 and 10 DPO which turned into more obvious positives on 11 DPO. No spotting here.

Good luck!!!

I tested for the first time on 12DPO and had a very faint but there line. Each day they got a bit darker and I'm now 29weeks pregnant! I didn't have any implantation spotting, but did have some sharp pains around 9DPO that could have been implantation. Good luck and it sounds like congratulations are in order!

I had implantation spotting on 8dpo, which led to me taking a test 9dpo. I got the faintest line ever (DH couldn't even see it). I continued to take tests through 11dpo with the line getting a little darker each time but still faint. I finally sprung for a digital test on 11dpo that confirmed I was pregnant. Best of luck to you! :)

I got a light line at 15 DPO, that gradually got darker and I'm now almost 18 weeks pregnant. I got a BFN at 12 DPO and had implantation spotting days 7-10. Good luck!!

I was so scared when my BFPs stayed light from 13dpo to 16dpo - I also had betas every third day until they were high enough to have a vaginal u/s, so I stopped torturing myself with the stupid sticks! They were so light, they looked like negatives unless you really squinted.

For fun, since there was one left in the package, I took another pregnancy test at 10 weeks - the silly thing was still pretty light! DD will be three months old on Wednesday. :D

I had spotting at 8 and 10dpo the cycle I conceived, and was on oral progesterone from 2dpo on, it wasn't enough and I had daily progesterone shots from 6 weeks until about 25 weeks - we'd tried mulitple times to wean me off and finally succeeded.

Good luck! :)

guys I'm feeling a little bummed today -- I poas and it was definitely lighter, my temps went down a smidge and my bb's aren't as full and sore as they had been. I know, I know, wait to see the doc but I have that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach...ugh.

:(

not as positive as i was yesterday.....

Hope you get good news today.
Just remember that symptoms can change too. The lines can be different too. Just try not to worry until after you find out what the dr says.
My DH refused to believe that I was pregnant until it was a week after I got my first BFP when he finally saw a dark line that appeared right away.

thanks for the positive vibes, guys.

the POAS at the DR's office did come up + however, we drew the betas and will do so again on Wednesday. until then, i am officially waiting on pins and needles. grrrrrrrrr................

oh, and here' s an annoying interchange between the doc and me, and i actually do like my doc:

ME: "Last monthly period was may 28 and i ovulated on june 30th, making it around 3 weeks-ish"
DOC: "no, that would make you six weeks along"
ME: "are you sure? i ovulated on the 30th"
DOC:"we calculate based on last monthly period."
ME: (thinking to myself) hmph.
So DOC does the ultrasound and sees nothing (other than an ovary with 2 huge cysts and my uterus which looks empty).
DOC: "hmmm...you look closer to being 3 weeks along." (whatever that means)
ME: (to myself)....sigh.....

I wish I could find a doctor who will listen to me....and I mean really listen!

See my avatar? She was a light BFP. :D

Seriously, I took 8 HPT's in total, over 5 days (from about 10DPO I think). First ones were very very light. I didn't get a dark line until the very last test, 5 days after first testing.

Even 4 days after my first BFP I got a light line when doing a pee test at the doctors office.

Good luck!!!

Sending good thoughts your way.

Just for the record - I also had a fight with my RE about the same issue - I ovulate LATE in my cycle - so when he looked at my Betas and did an ultrasound he was alarmed because what he saw wasn't in line with what he thought he should be seeing (he put me at 6 weeks when I knew at the very most I was 4 weeks). He insisted on using the first day of my last period as a starting point when I knew that would not be accurate. After leaving his office hysterical and having to wait a week for another ultrasound, everything turned out fine. I am now 32 weeks along. I also had very light lines (DH couldn't even see it).

I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you and DH!

Ok, so I just took an HPT and I'm not sure if it's a faint line or just a "stain" from the pink color moving across the window. It's an EPT test and the faint line/squiggly thing is not exactly in the center of the circle. DH is out of town and brought the digital camera with him so I can't post it here....anyone think it's just irrelevant or if it's a real BFP? I'm CD 33, roughly 15DPO if I estimated correctly (but I'm not charting, this is based on having EWCM). I also had unexpected heavy spotting on CD 10...ACK! Freaking out and it's too late to call anyone!

I got a super faint line at 11DPO, so faint that I thought I was imagining it. It didn't seem to get much daker. At 14 DPO I tested with a digital and got a definite "Pregnant".

Of course, my husband didn't actually believe I was pregnant until this week when he heard the heartbeat (I'm 13 weeks)!

Both of the cuties in my avatar were VERY faint lines. So faint that we thought they were both evaporation lines. Then when we went to the doctor to get tested, they actually did the tests twice because they said if I had come in a day earlier, my levels wouldn't have been high enough. LOL So as everyone else keeps telling ya. A line, is a line, is a line. :D :)

Thanks for bumping this for me Jenn!

I got a very faint line last night, and then another very faint line this morning. So faint, in fact, that i thought i was imagining it, and would carry it to different rooms to see the different lighting with it. Its so faint, but its still a line.

I have been on 100 mg of Clomid this round, so hopefully, its for real!

My test at 10dpo with dd was so faint that I actually took the test apart and held it up against the window- I could almost not tell if there was anything there or not. It was really much lighter than any of the photos here- I doubt it even would have shown up! I didn't even tell DH about it until I tested again the next day- there's no way he would have believed it was a real line. I won't test that early again.

I don't think it's likely to get a really dark line unless you are really pretty late in the game. After all, at 10dpo you are only like 3 days pg!

as you know that's me too, since yesterday's and this morning's line was very faint. I did compare it the first test from my pregnancy with DD (yes, I still have it) and it actually looks the same. So...I hope tomorrow that line is darker.
