Please pray for my Grandpa. He was just diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago, and he only has a few weeks left (hopefully a month or more).

You and your family are in my prayers! I know this is a difficult time and nothing we say can make it better. Just keep him comfortable, and it will be much easier passing for him. I'm sorry!

I will keep you and your family in my prayers during this difficult time. On a lighter note, your grandfather has done so many amazing things! That is awesome that after just 2 weeks of knowing each other they got married and have been married for 65 yrs! I guess love at first sight really does exist! That is so precious!

DISCO DIVA--You have my prayers, every day, for a long while...I love my grandfather so much! Your grandfather does sound amazing. I'm so sorry. My grandpa is 93 and it would kill me to lose him. (I am going to...I realize that...but I love him very much.)

I am thinking of you. My grandfather also died of cancer after a long fight. It was so hard to watch someone I knew as so strong, a WWII veteran, be so confused and terrified.
Get there are soon as you can. Do whatever you have to do. I can tell you how awful it will be if you don't make it. I didn't get to say goodbye to my grandfather. We only lived an hour away, and I was at the hospital that day, but they made the decision to give him the injection to induce a coma while I was outside taking a walk to clear my head. By the time I came back up to the room, he was unconscious and they kep him that way until he passed. I can barely think of it now without getting hysterical.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa. I hope everybody makes it there to say goodbye, and that he is as comfortable as possible. I'll be thinking of you both.

Oh DD, I am so, so sorry!! I just lost my grandmother a few months ago and I remember how supportive you were to me. I'm sorry you have to go through this.
I don't want to get false hopes up, but a friend of the family was diagnosed with lung cancer nearly four years ago and was given six months to live. She's still with us! Turns out it wasn't cancer, but she does have something strange going on in her lungs. They can't figure out what it is, but she's doing just fine. I'll pray that maybe, by some miracle, your grandfather will turn out to have something less serious.
My heart goes out to you sweetie!

Disco Diva, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa! :( Unfortunately I can relate all too well, since my grandpa just passed away last month from prostate cancer. Luckily DH & I got to go visit him one last time a few weeks before he passed away, but nevertheless, it was still so sad to hear the news of his death. Like your grandpa, mine lived a very long & full life & was at home with my grandma when he passed away, & she made sure he was as comfortable as possible.
I will absolutely keep you, your grandpa & the rest of your family in my thoughts.

DD--I'm so sorry to hear about this. :( How far away do you live? Are you going to be able to go see him?
It sounds like you have your faith to help you through this time, and I'm glad for you about that. I'll pray for you and your family. I can't imagine how hard this must be. :(

Hey DD...I'm still thinking of you. I love my grandpa so much...you reminded me to call him tomorrow.
I'm so glad you can spend time with him and visit with him. He will be in a better place and you will all be together someday.
You are still in my prayers and thoughts. Hope you are doing Ok.

DD I said a prayer for your Grandpa and your whole family. I'm sitting here bawling my eyes out as I type this. I don't have any grandparents left and it's so painful to me to find out when someone is losing one of theirs. I have such respect and admiration for your grandfather. To serve his country in the way that he has should give each and every person pause. The WWII generation in my opinion is one of the greatest if not THE greatest generation ever. May your grandfather go in peace. God Bless him and your family.
