I am SO looking forward to this movie. I hope it's a decent sequel, since sequels have the tendency to suck.
Anyone else planning on seeing this one? Here's a link to the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLvhJ0m5ask

I hadn't even heard about it but I do love Kevin Smith movies, so we'll be going to see it.

I will definitely be seeing it! I've been following along with the "making of" videos on Kevin Smith's website.

Oooo, didn't even know there was a "Clerks 2" coming out! I too hope it will be a decent sequel, as I love the first one.

I saw the preview for this movie at the movie theater. I absolutely went nuts! People were staring at me.... I seriously LOVE Kevin Smith!!!
ETA: I laughed especially hard at Jay acting like "Buffalo Bill" from the Silence of the Lambs!!!

H is just beside himself with excitement since this is coming out the same weekend as Snakes on a Plane. Hopefully, this will break the Kevin Smith curse of mediocre movies that he's made after the "New Jersy Trilogy". (I realize to some Mallrats is mediocre, but I consider that a debatable point :) )

The Clerks 2 release date has been bumped up to July 21 so it won't be opening the same weekend as Snakes on a Plane anymore.

Mallrats is one of the classics!!! One of my all time favs!!
Can't wait! Anyone notice Jay's "Got Christ?" t-shirt (featuring our good friend Buddy Christ)?

Ooh, great! Thanks! I know DH would want to see both on opening day, but this is great because it spreads them out a bit.
And, to me, Mallrats is one of my favorite movies. I know it was widely panned but I love it!

I will be lining up a sitter now, I can't wait! But DH and I are both such Kevin Smith geeks, we liked J&SBSB and Jersey Girl. Well, I liked Jersey Girl, anyway ;)
Has anyone else looked at all of the stuff on YouTube? There is some Cannes stuff, talking about the 8 minute encore the flick got, that's got to be a great sign, right?
I heard this killed at Cannes. Sweeet.

Has anyone seen this yet (I think it came out today?)
Is anyone looking forward to it as much as I am?

We saw it this weekend. It was great! I loved all the little cameo parts. And I've never been a Rosario Dawson fan, but I liked her in this movie.

:o :o
Yep, I saw it. I know, I know, I totally shouldn't have, but I couldn't help myself. Kevin Smith movies are a really bad vice that I have! LOL
I have been waiting for this movie for months and it was such a good movie!!
Look out for Pillow Pants and Listerfiend! ;)

I saw it Friday night and was fairly unimpressed. Kevin Smith is a very self-indulgent director. I preferred his movies when he had a shoestring budget and relied on dialogue.
The beginning was great, the ending was great, but the middle was just eh.

Liked it a lot, but wouldn't consider it one of Kevin Smith's best by any means. Some of it was a little dull, but the laugh-out-loud, totally outrageous moments totally make up for it.
And besides... I missed Jay and Silent Bob. DH now has a whole new schtik for when he puts on his chapstick :p

We saw this on the weekend and loved it. It was a fun movie, just what we wanted that day.
We loved the whole chapstick thing, pillowpants, and the talk of the Transformers movie and LOTR thing. My DH is a big geek and is totally looking forward to Transformers and has me calling the casting agents to see if he can be an extra when they film some of it here (I work in the local film industry).

I seem to remember hearing somewhere that Kevin Smith only agreed to make it so that whathisname-the blond dude-got clean and successfully completed rehab. Like it was his reward for ditching the heroin (I wanna say heroin, maybe meth?).

I dug it. Not the best Kevin Smith film ever, but not bad either.
