Dh and I are going to renew our vows in gatlinburg, where we went for our honeymoon. Has anyone gotten married or is planning on getting married there? Any reccomendations as to which chapel to use?

I got married in Pigeon Forge several years ago at a place called Mountain Weddings, I think. The phone number was easy 1-800-MOUNTAIN. Their catch phrase was Marry on a Mountain. Anyway, it was super nice. It was a log cabin chapel located on Wears Valley road about 2 miles out of town. So many of the guest loved where I got married, that several have gone back to get married there too. INCLUDING my ex husband. I know they are still in business, because my sister is getting married and she called down there to get some info. If you need more information, just let me know.

We got married in Townsend in September. It's about 20 minutes away from Pigeon Forge (It's only 8 miles, but it's a somewhat winding road). I liked it because it was not over some candle shop or something like some of the chapels. The pictures were fantastic. They have 6 different spots (inside and out) that they do pictures. The prices were reasonable. They were great about asking what we wanted to do to make it personalized. I chose my bouquet (my avatar). I just sent a picture and she duplicated it exactly. We picked out our music and added giving our mothers roses after the unity candle. The video turned out great. They have it ready immediately.

There is a little cafe on the property that is affliated with the chapel that we had our little reception dinner. I had originally booked the dinner somewhere else, over the internet. We went to check it all out 3 days before the wedding. I hated the place that I booked but loved their cafe. So, I cancelled and switched. They were so accomodating. The cake (chocolate truffle!!) was so good and everything was homemade. Right down to the butter mints. The price was fantastic too.

I would recommend this place, highly. A friend recommended it to me and she has had 3 other friends get married there too. I haven't heard anything bad at all. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.

When we were there almost 3 years ago, there was a big youth conference - lots of Christian bands. It was nuts. Thankfully the left before we did. We are probably going to stay at Carr's which is around light 2a, off the main strip. Most of the things we want to do don't involve being around the kids, if they are there again.

We really want to get married in gatlinburg, vs pidgeon forge .
