So I just realized I'm totally off in my checkbook! :( Do banks offer that service to help? I've spent about 4 hours on this stupid thing and am in tears cause I just can't get it to work!!

Anyone know if they offer or charge?? ARRRRGGHHH!!!!!

I think it probably depends on the bank. The one I worked for didn't but it seems like banks are charging for everything these days. My credit union does it for free.

No they shouldn't charge you! I get help all the time on the phone. Just go back to wherever your last known balance matched there and ask for a log of entries. It's actually easier if you can do it online. You might not even need the live help that way.

Our credit union charges...maybe $25 per hour or so.

You can probably do it on your own though. Get your most recent bank statement, and use that balance...then deduct any items that haven't gone through. If you use online banking, check it every day for a week for items you might have missed. You should be back to normal after a week since that's about the average time for checks/debit card purchases to go through your account.

Oh my goodness- it might be the area that I live in, or the size of the bank that I work for but I believe if someone were to call and ask this question to our customer service they might seriously get laughed at.

Sorry- I know that was no help, but I can't imagine a bank helping you balance your checkbook. I'm sure I might use this service if it were available though! ;) You are lucky ladies!

Your bank should help you, in particular if your records to NOT match your statement. They have an obligation to. If you just need a quick lesson look online there should be tutorials out there on how to read the statement and balance if your having problems.
