I got a new silk tunic type top to wear to my upcoming HS reunion and it's a little bit plunging. I think I can get away with a strapless bra, but I want to make sure the top stays put on my chest. Anyone have experience with double stick body tape? Where to buy some good stuff? Any tips or tricks?
Thanks in advance!
I only used it once, on my wedding day, and it worked well. I did a froogle search, and you can buy it here: http://www.beautysak.com/products.asp?view=s&mode=m&mid=405&pid=2329&tid=fghollywood&s=froogle

i have the kind that myra posted. i used it on halloween for the sides of a white halter jumpsuit. it was a bit big on top and kept gaping open whenever i sat down. worked just fine.
i haven't had another reason to use it yet. but i would just do a test-run and see if it looks natural when you put it on under the tunic. sometimes you can tell when people have used fashion tape, because the fabric sticks in odd places. if that's the case - i'd say go for a camisole or tank underneath instead.

Thanks for the replies. I am definitely going to do a trial run with it first. If it doesn't work out, then a camisole it will be. Here's the link to a picture of the top (it's the bottom one). What color camisole? http://64.49.225.145/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=784S403&PhotoNumber=3#largerphoto
Thankfully I got it at an outlet store and did not pay this retail price! :)

I use the Hollywood Fashion Tape all the time. Love it with silk and thin fabrics- cotton, it hasn't worked so well for me. Good luck.

Can you go without a bra? I'd skip altogether if possible.
I have a similar-ly styled top and don't have any problem with slippage. But, I am not very big up top (small 34b).

i've seen it at nordstrom in the lingerie section, they also have those stick-on bras.

I use Hollywood Fashion Tape also. If you are going to stick it on the skin and attach to clothes, be sure that part of the skin doesn't have any lotion, oil, or moisturing body wash on it or it won't stick right and come off.
In Walmart's lingerie department, they have these sticker bra things that may work for you. They also sell those in department stores, but they are cheaper in Walmart. This is what I am referring to:

PS: If anyone has gaps in button shirts up (I have large boobs), I use the tape between the fabric to keep that part of the shirt flat instead of using a pin and it looks really nice.

Thanks for all the replies! I am a 36C so going braless really isn't an option ...I wish though! I was going to check out the stuff they had at Nordstrom's and do a trial run. I've got a week to figure it out.
Thanks for the help fashionistas!

You can buy Topstick at any fabric store (Joanne's) for about 2 bucks. It's what all the pros use. Just make sure you clean your skin with alcohol before applying.

In my pageant days I used wig tape and it worked really well. You can get it anywhere that sells wigs (I always bought mine at a African-American hair salon).
