DD (almost 11 months) is teething hardcore right now. In addition to just being plain miserable, she is also refusing most foods. Her daycare teachers have had a bit more luck giving her lunch and breakfast, but she is pretty much refusing dinner and not drinking as much bottles. Has anyone else gone through DC refusing to eat when they are teething? Once the teeth came in, did they go back to their normal eating routine?

Sasha: I think our kids are at the exact same place right now -- DS did this tonight. He refused everything at dinner, but ate ok at school. I know he's cutting this third tooth on the top, but he won't let me look at the bottom. He acted this way with his first two teeth and yes, it does go back to business as usual as soon as the tooth emerges. Hang in there!! Shouldn't last more than a few days.

Yup! Hopefully it will be over soon! Teething sucks.

Thomas hasn't been into his bottle this week (he normally guzzles 6-8oz, but he's now off & on and then pulling off at only 4-5oz and REFUSING to put his mouth back on it), and has been very weary of taking things off a spoon.
Then yesterday I noticed his 2nd tooth was *just* cut through.
So yes, I think the teething hurt so he didn't want anything in the front of his mouth...which included bottles and spoons.

psusna - Yes, it does seem like our kids have a lot in common these days! When her first two teeth came in, her food routine didn't really change, this time is completely different. She won't really let me look to see what teeth are coming in, but I think it's a top one. LOL, doesn't it make you feel great that they will eat for the daycare teachers but not for you?
Kim - Sarah is doing the same exact thing with her bottles. Normally guzzles an 8 oz. bottle, and she is stopping between 4-6oz. now.
catmom - Thanks for the encouragement!

It was explained to me that in the evening is when the teething hurts the worst. Maybe that is why your DD doesn't want to eat or drink anything at night? I feel you pain. :( DS, who is 9 months old, has been teething for the last 3 months. He has has 6 teeth come in all at the same time! Good luck, it will pass!
