Yes, ladies, I said it, the dreaded "S" word... SWIMSUIT

Everyone has been so nice to share their jean recommendations, so let's move on to the next problem, I mean, item of clothing. What type/brand/style of swimsuit has been most friendly to your mommy body? I live in a coastal area, so we're in bathing suits a LOT. I've spent 2 of the last 3 summers in maternity, so I need some new ideas!

Honestly, this is the only reason I'm happy we moved to Oklahoma. No beach, so no reason to HAVE to wear a swimsuit. Even if DD is playing in the baby pool, I can have on a tank top and shorts! Thank god, because it wouldn't be a pretty sight this year (me in a swimsuit, I mean). I have heard good things about Land's End suits though!

I was also going to recommend Land's End. I'm currently narrowing down my selection and will be ordering from there. I can't decide between something with uber amounts of control or something with shorts. We'll see what I wind up with. Somehow the weight I lost while at home with DS found its way back when I returned to work....

I've ordered from there for years b/c I need a long torso suit and have never had any problems with service or quality of the product.

There are a few swimsuit threads in Fashion & Beauty you can check out.

I have a big problem buying swimsuits now, because my boobs are still huge from nursing. There are a number of English companies that specialize in swimsuits (and bras) for bigger-busted women. I just bought a bra (size 30G) from Figleaves.com, and it is the first bra I have ever had that actually fit (usually I have to order a band size that is way to big so the cups will fit). I just ordered a swimsuit from a company in the UK (the brand is Panache), but it hasn't arrived yet. I'm pretty excited about being about to find one that will fit... the shelf bras just don't do it for me.

I have to second Lands End. I ordered a great Tankini - following the measurements on their website, and it really is flattering!

I need to get a cool skirted tankini for this summer - since we'll be at the pool alot and I'll be nursing #2 there... The ones in Lands End looked super cute and I loved the little miniskirts that didn't look like they'd end up floating all around you.

For those who ordered from Land's End -

What is your bust measurement according to thier chart vs. your bra/cup size and what size did you order from Land's End?

For example, based on thier size chart my 38 bust is a size 12. However I am pretty sure that my G size cup won't fit in a size 12? I am wondering what size I need to go up to in order to fit the "girls" comfortably.

TIA!!:)

I vote for Lands End too! They have fantastic customer service....I ordered a tankini the other day and wasn't happy with the color. They let me reorder a new one, no shipping and return the other one to Sears so I didn't have to send it back. When that one didn't show up (or I didn't it think it had, UPS man hid it!)by the day I thought it would and they had a delivery confirmation we figured it went to the wrong place.... their customer service rep offered to send out another one free of charge without any other debate.

I got the faille mix and match...very flattering fabric. The skirted bottom covers all those unfortunate things and I got the high neck top which DS can't pull down while trying to climb up me in the pool...plus I don't have to worry about getting sun screen all over my back when I'm by myself.

I honsetly didn't measure it according to their bust size, just ordered my usual size and that was fine....sorry I can't be more help!

Con-they are expensive but check out their overstocks section first. The quality is worth it if you'll wear it a lot.

Another vote for Land's End. I got the "Women's Faille SwimMini" w/ the high neck swim top last year (before I got PG again) and I was very comfortable in it. It seems to be kind of tight fitting so it felt like it held me in more in the tummy and butt, which is a big positive! :) It is kind of pricey. I think each piece is $40.

We just got back from a vacation where I more or less lived in my suit. Because I'm breastfeeding, I needed a suit where DS would have easy access to the girls. I ended up w/this halter-top suit:

I am a C/D cup (depending on how engorged I am ;) ) and felt this suit was supportive enough. It's also one of their slenderizing suits, so it sucks in the belly very well. And what it doesn't suck in, the shirring helps out with.

Ooh, I was actually thinking about ordering that exact suit. I used their "virtual model" and it looked good on her. Glad to know it is nice in person, too.

I bought a "Sunshaper" suit at Target and have been so happy. It's a basic black tank, but it SUCKS in your stomach in an unbelievable way. It also has great support for your boobs.
