we found a lump on emma, our 7 year old boxer.

she's had lumps before that needed to be taken off, but they were just simple removals done while she was awake (actaully she was awake, standing up and never even flinched when they were taken off)

we got the call yesterday from the vet. they had taken some fluid from this lump and the vet said "there were som bad looking cells" in it. I haven't actually spoken to the vet yet, this was on the message. when i called back the vet wasn't available, but the tech said she recommended surgery to remove the rest of the lump and get more pathology done. she didn't say it was cancer, but she said it was suspicious. :(

so my emma is going under anethesia next wed to have the lump removed. if all goes ok she can be home that night. i just keep worrying about all the what ifs...

It's scary when the furbabies need surgery, but I'm sure that she'll be fine through surgery, colleenjoy. I hope that you guys get good news regarding the lump.

FWIW, my boxer babies have had several surgeries (including a lump removal for my little girl), and they've handled it well. Me? Not so much, as I'm an anxious wreck the entire time...
