We have been using nightgowns for my DD since she was born. Now that she is 6 months old, she has outgrown the Carters size (one size fits all??). I have been looking everywhere for larger nightgowns and cannot find them.

They are just so much easier for diaper changing at night and she has gotten into the habit of playing with her feet in them. I don't want to give them up, but can't find them anywhere.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately i've never seen any in larger sizes. Some claim to be 0-12 months, but DD didn't fit in hers after 3 months. They make regular nightgowns (think Carters, Dora The Exlorer, Hello Kitty, etc kid) for infants/toddlers but they don't start until size 12 months+ I believe. Don't worry, you'll get used to sleepers and regular jammies (p.s - ones with zippers are WAY easier than ones with a million snap buttons ;)). Those layette gowns are awesome though arent they?

I totally agree with BooeyJ2!
I've had good luck with the zipper pjs from gymbo. I've got some children's place ones and they are just ok (but much cheaper).

I have no idea why no one makes the gowns in larger sizes. We loved them too, but outgrew them around 3 mo.

Yeah, it sucks that they don't come in larger sizes. I prefer them for nighttime, too, for the same reason.

I loved gowns for DD too :)
DD has always been long and lean. I found some larger size, long gowns that worked perfectly (til winter time when we switched to cozy zipper jams) at the Ross store (http://www.rossstores.com/) in my area. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the advice. I did find a 9 month carters nightgown at BRU today. I held it up to the other sizes and it didnt seem that much bigger, but I'll try it out tonight.

I also had an idea of getting one of my more talented friends to sew her some. I'll give them one of her old ones as a pattern and they can just make it bigger, right?

I think I'll run by Ross on my way home. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Who knew finding a nightgown would be such a pain!

They are 40% off right now (10.75 regularly). If they are anything like the pants, I really liked the quality (possibly more than Carters)

I recently saw night gown at BRU in larger sizes. I was going to buy a few for DD, but decided against it since she is still crawling. It's quite difficult for her to crawl in night gowns & dresses.

I'll come back to post the brand when DD isn't sleeping.

PS. I bought Bebini stuff & love it!

Another option would be to put her in the cotton Halo sleep sacks with a onesie. They are closed at the bottom, and zip all the way up for easy changes. Just another idea :)

Thanks!

I went to the Bebini site (cute clothes) and found them. I was going to order one to see how it fit, but the shipping is 8.00! That brings the nightgown to almost $20. I did try the 9month Carters one last night and it definitely fit. They only had one at BRU yesterday, maybe I'll try another store and see if I can find more. I looked on-line and they don't have the larger size there. If I can't find anymore of the Carters, I'll break down and spend the $20 at Bebini (of course, if I just bought a few more outfits from that site it would make the shipping so much more reasonable........)

Thanks again for the help and suggestions.
