I need some advice about where to travel the week of July 4th. We were supposed to take a cruise in September but found out we are expecting at the beginning of Nov so we had to move our vacation up.
I absolutely HATE traveling in the summer time with everyone else :p Dh and i typically travel in the early or late months of the year because of the pricing and crowds. However, this year we are traveling with friends that couldn't get vacation until July and it works out well since i get paid for Monday July 3rd and Tuesday July 4th as holidays!
I can't find anything cheap enough to fit our budget though! Preferably we'd like to only spend $1200 total for the trip. It doesn't have to be a full week and we are open to travel anywhere there is a beach and ocean (the Gulf of Mexico counts too!). We will be leaving out of St. Louis and we don't care if we drive or fly... getting good airfare out of Stl is next to impossible!
Does anyone have any destination ideas? I know it's an expensive time to travel and maybe my price range is too low for this time a year but i'd like to think there is something out there that fits our budget!
Can't wait to hear the ideas. I am eager to get this vacation planned :D
ETA: Has anyone waited until 2-3 weeks before to book a vacation package or cruise? Did you get a good deal?
