Cats and Easter

Just wanted to remind everyone this time of year that lilies are toxic to cats. If you have any for the holidays, keep your cats away from them, and if you suspect they've ingested any, get them to a vet immediately.

Thanks for the PSA. I had no idea that lilies are toxic to cats. Are all lilies bad for them, or just Easter lilies?

I know this is about cats, but was just wondering if you or someone else knows if the same can be said for dogs? I was just wondering if we need to be especially careful to keep lilies away from our "canine vaccuum." I mean, obviously they can't be GOOD for them, but I was just wondering if they were fatal for dogs...

According to jesvet's article, Easter lilies, tiger lilies, Rubrum lilies, day lilies, and Japanese show lilies are toxic.

TX Sweetheart, according to this (http://www.dogpack.com/health/poisonplants.htm) website, there are even more species of lilies that are toxic to dogs than there are to cats.
