Kaeden's-thanks for encouragement. I guess I should stop being such a whiner and try to focus on the positive. I have a cute little Chase on the way just in time for summer, everyone's been super nice and helpful lately and I haven't gained 55 pounds like the last time:) It's not all bad.....

I don't think you're being a whiner at all. Pregnancy is tough enough without adding all the extras that you're going through. I've heard kidney stones are comparable to the pain of labor. Been there, done that and I certainly can't imagine living it while being pregnant for a period of time. I'm sending happy thoughts your way!

Just doing a quick drive by. I'm following along, just not posting, you guys are moving quick today. I am still very sick and I have to go get my baby shower outfit today because from Tuesday thru possibly Friday morning I am going to be dealing with the sheetrock contractors. It's going to be $620 which really sucks. It better get fixed right! I got the stupid idea to do a little touch up painting on some paint that's been bothering me in the living room so now I'm all paint-y and tired. Why did I feel the need to do that when I feel so sick???

Hope everyone has a good day. I will try to come catch up later this afternoon...

Wow!! You girls were busy this weekend!! I will come back later for more shout outs.

Nikos- Big Yay for being 1 centimeter dialated! That is great! It is becoming more and more real for all of us.

Shoulda- I know it is still surreal that we finally made it (or atleast almost there). I was talking to my mom yesterday and we have something planned for every weekend between now and the baby's expected arrival! It just shows how the time is going to fly.

Shaq- It sounds like you had a great shower!

Mrs Brownie- Big yay for getting the furniture situation handled. It's about darn time!!
~~
I don't even remember what I posted last. I went in for the u/s thing Friday and that was really neat. The baby is measuring another 6 days ahead and but they said it's no reason to change the due date. He is already 3 1/2 lbs and it was so neat to see him. The guys were amazed with how active he is. He had the hiccups while we there and that was neat to see on the screen. We didn't get to see his face at all though. He is already super low and they didn't want to pull my pants down that far with another 20+ people in the room.

Weekend was pretty laid back until last night. We got home a little before 10 and when I went to the restroom for the last time for the night I was spotting!! It was the most I have seen during this pregnancy. So I stayed up another hour and there was still some residual spotting left over so I called the 24 hour nurses line. They told me I was fine to stay home and call my dr in the morning. I called the doc's office in the morning and they said that since I am no longer spotting that I should just put myself on a pelvic rest (no inserting anything there, no lifting or straining) and if I don't see anything go in at my reg appointment on the 3rd. To be honest I'm a little dissapointed. I would have prefered to see someone today and have them check my cervix just to make sure it isn't anything more serious. I know the spotting is done but I know that it can still be warning signs for other things. I just sometimes feel that they are a little too laid back.

Morning everyone! I hope y'all stayed dry this week-end. Glad you liked the labor story from a few weeks ago. I have another appt this week and know it'll be a complete let down after last time's excitement.

Not much going on here. My FIL came to visit this week-end, and like Kaeden's Mommy,my MIL is on my sh!t list too, luckily she can't be bothered coming to visit so FIL came alone. He's nice and means well, but he can still drive me crazy. Like, he refuses to bring his reading glasses to restaurants, so DH winds up having to read him the menu. First he wants red meat, then fish, then he wants to know about the 3rd, no the 4th meat dish again...The worst is the drink and wine menus. Especially Sat. night when there was a five page sake menu. My FIL is clueless about wine/alcohol (he tried to serve port when we were having BBQ pizza at Christmastime) and here he is trying to yah/nay sake choices at a super loud restaurant and wants the descriptions repeated. The best part is that DH realilzed that FIL kept inadvertently drinking DH's drinks. Since he doesn't know much, he usually just ordered what DH had so the only "full" drink DH managed to have was a cocktail on Friday night when they had ordered something different. Otherwise, FIL finished DH's drink then started on his...

jbenny -- I so would have unloaded on that lady at the cosmetics counter -- pregnant or not, I've found it really hard to hold my tongue in those situations any more esp since you were trying to be nice to her.

Niko's Mommy - Congrats on being 1cm dilated! That's wonderful news!

Ladyjg – the family quilt sounds amazing. I love when someone takes the time to handmake/craft something just for me.

ds -- I am SO impressed with your labor preparations. You are one well-informed mom!

I feel that if I not prepared then I may not get the birth experience I want (assuming no complications). I’m grateful that I go to a wonder natural birth friendly OB & MW office and am delivering at a natural birth friendly hospital so I don’t expect many problems getting what I want. You really have to know what is a true emergency. Some doctors will try to scare you into doing things to keep the assembly line moving. I really don’t see myself caving for any quick fixes, but DH is all about medicine and I think he really needs these classes more than I. I want him to know that it is okay for me to hit a plateau in dilation and stay there for hours and that “failing to progress” does not mean I need Pitocin…it means I need some patience. I see this just like anything else in life, if you don’t stand up for what you want you will get whatever is easiest for everybody else.

By the way, if you are being induced..do not let the doctors use Cytotec (I may be spelling it wrong)…I do have the generic name and correct brand name at home. It has caused death in laboring mothers. The FDA and the maker of the drug have warned against this off label use of it. I believe it is used for ulcer treatment. I have a copy of the FDA warning and the letter from the maker waning against in use for labor induction.

Jbenny – I don’t think you are ungrateful at all. I just think that it must be a wonderful feeling to know that the big stuff is at least already purchased.

Ruby – I do hope you can find some comfort and make it to full term before the little one arrives.

I still think I’m going to at least go to my due date. I’m due 6/21 and am making plans right up to then. We are going to a wedding on 6/3 and volunteering for Special Olympics on 6/11. I am doing athlete check-in so I get to sit all day. I just can’t spend all day on my feet.

Speaking of frozen meals – I need to let my mom know that cooking and freezing foods will be on her list of things to do while she is here. I also need to get more comfortable with saying “yes” when people ask if I need anything.

Lil_mrs – I hope things are okay. Try not to worry yourself. If the little is still active, things are most likel fine

What is up with MILs? Mine is under the Sh!t list. She is so dramatic, wants everyone’s pity and loves layering on the guilt. I’m really trying to “train” DH to not fall for her guilt trips.

Okay. I need to finish up some work. Just 25 more minutes, then I can go home take a nap and registry stalk (my second job)

ds the flyer made it sound like no receipt no anything. (sorry, I tossed it) Although, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't make an exchange purely for size or damage for the same item. I have to say, the new policy irritates me, but I so seldom shop there, I won't be often affected. I'd be really bugged if it was registry issues they refuse to address.

One thing to note: Apparently, if an item is purchased from your registry through Amazon.com then you get the (less restrictive) Amazon return policy, not the BRU policy so long as you return it through Amazon. If you return at a BRU, you are subject to the BRU policy.

I too have a wedding to go to on June 3. I have NO idea what I am going to wear. Even better though, I am going to a black tie optional wedding at the Beverly Hills Hotel on August 19. I will only be about 7 weeks post partum (since both other kids were 3 days late, I am counting on Meredith to keep up the trend and arrive about June 24). Ugh. What the heck is gonna fit me then!?

lawyerwifemom -- I have a wedding at the Bev Hills Hotel the week-end before and after yours!! Weird. Esp since I'm in NY and have only been to one wedding there previously! We have three LA/Orange County weddings in August -- all the same people and no one else will be very pregnant or post-partum so I'm dreading these events. Three "big" outfits when everyone else is super trim and tan. Fun Fun.

Are you from LA/S. Cal? If so, can you recommend a vacation destination in the area with small kids?

I am so freaked out right now. Every other time that I have spotted through out this pregnancy it has only showed up on the tp and it would be gone by the next time I used the restroom. Well the spotting is back and even heavier and now it is yoky or creamy not watery like it has been before. I am absolutely freaking out. I called the doctors office and because of the change of substance they want to see me today but I can't get in for another two hours. I don't know what I'm going to do while I wait. I am just going to sit up here and freak myself out. I am thinking that I should go home so I atleast don't fall apart at work. I am fighting off tears right now as I type this! I just need to wait for 2 people to come back from late luches and I should be able to get out of here.

I just got back from seeing my OB. I have to take the 24-hour urine test. Ugh. This means I have to take a big jug labeled "24-hour Urine Test in huge letters, as well as the bag that it comes in. Nice. Think I'll double bag. Starting tomorrow morning, I have to put ALL of my urine in this jug for 24 hours. What a PITA. Tomorrow I have all day meetings so I may just wait until Wednesday. I don't think I want to have to get up during our lunch meeting and take my jug into the bathroom with me. hahaha

I've also been feeling a lot of pressure down there and mentioned this to my OB. She recommended I get a belly band to support me.

Has anyone been wearing a belly band for support?

Fancy dress up events:

DH's work forgoes a Christmas party every year for an annual departmental dinner every March. For some unknown reason, they decided to wait until JUNE to have the dinner this year. :( June 17, to be exact. Either I'll be 2 days away from full term (and huge, no doubt) or we'll have a little newborn at the time.

Either way, I'm going to be too huge for wahtever I will be able to wear there. :(

I'm kinda pissed at the person who scheduled it - it's a small dept. and they ALL know that our baby is due mid-June. It's a bit of a big deal -- DH's boss has even started a baby-pool for the due date, so it's not like they all don't know that mid-June is a bad time for us. lol, I guess I'm being selfish, I know. We'll try to make it to the dinner, even if it means bringing a newborn (serves DH's coworker right for scheduling it on that date. LOL!

lilmrs I hope everything is okay..please update us as soon as you can.

I am freaking out over nothing. I just checked my registry and a bunch of stuff was bought! Thank goodness. How many people go baby shower shopping on a Monday? Or does the BRU site not update right away and the purchases are from yesterday?

It killed me, but I managed not to buy any baby stuff when I was at Walmart today. I actually had diapers and wipes in my cart and took them back out so I could wait until after the shower. I did buy a toothbrush, sample size toothpaste and lotion for my hospital bag. I have shampoo and conditioner bottles to fill from my big bottles. Weird question: I bought pads for after l/d. I normally use only tampons, so I don't want to buy a bunch of pads that I won't use. How many are you girls stocking up on? I bought two different kinds, totaling about 40. How long does bleeding last after birth?

sarahncraig ~ Why do you have to do the 24 hour collection? I had to do that twice when I was pg with DS because my BP was elevated.

Yeah, my BP was a tiny bit elevated and I had a few days of headaches about 1.5 weeks ago. They're testing for protein.

So...I must be totally clueless. What do the colored dots mean next to our usernames?

I think it depends on your settings, but mine is green when I'm online. I know others whose is always blue whether they're online or not.

jbenny ~ Glad to hear a lot was purchased from your registry. I'm the same way with tampons - I hate pads. You may want more than 40 pads though. You'll get some from the hospital. PP bleeding usually lasts 3-4 weeks and is fairly heavy for at least the first week or 2. Plus, many OBs recommend wearing a pad close to your EDD in case you leak amniotic fluid. That way you have a pad they can test.

Lil Mrs, Hope everything is ok! Is it possible that maybe you are losing your mucous plug?? That's the first thing that popped into my head!! Thinking of you!

I have been feeling uncomfortable here and there too. Not pain or anything but uncomfortable, like something different is happening. I have an appt on Wednesday and then my weeklies start. Can't wait to get checked for dialation! :rolleyes: Har har!

My shower is Sunday and I have been stalking a bit. Some things have been purchased but nothing major besides our SnugRide. Hoping more comes off soon!!

Hope you are all doing well! Yay for Monday being over! :)

Fitzy too funny! We were from LA (Manhattan Beach/worked dwtn LA) until 2001 when we moved to a town north of Denver. We still have gobs of good friends in LA and go back a couple times a year. We were just there in March and went to Disneyland/SeaWorld and hung out with friends. There are so many things to do with kids--it really depends on the ages. But getting a place at the beach (Manhattan, Hermosa, Santa Monica) and lazing around, walking to bars and restaurants etc sounds fun. You can always go to Universal Studios/6 Flags/Disney/Knotts Berry Farm etc if you want to do kid touristy stuff.

I lived in the area for almost 17 years, so if you have specific questions, I may be able to come up with something!

It's been sooooo soo long since I've posted. I'm not even going to try catching up. I have been lurking though on and off though. Things have just been so hectic lately.

In case you're wondering what's going on with me:

We're MOVING!
We're in the process of moving from CA to AZ in the next few months and our house will be done next week! Yippeee! We'll be flying back to Phoenix next week for our final walkthru. I was a little hesitant about flying at almost 35 wks, but I got the OK from my dr, so it should be fine. It will also be our DS's first plane ride - we are excited.

Baby Shower
My parents threw us a co-ed baby shower over the weekend. I really didn't expect a lot of gifts since this is our 2nd baby and all, but wow...everyone was soo generous. Almost everyone got us a pack of DIAPERS, which was pretty awesome since diapers can get quite expensive. We have over 350 diapers - that should last us about a month..haha! ;) Other stuff we got...bottles, cute outfits for baby, baby baskets, laundry hamper, a baby bouncer AND my friend made me this custom-made shopping cart cover made out of silk brocade. It is truly gorgeous. I don't have any pics right now, but I'll be sure to post some later on tonight. I also need to post pics of our invitations and favor, too.

UTI
A few wks ago, the dr. tested my urine and found out that I had a UTI. :( So I've been taking anti-biotics for it since. I really need to start drinking more water.

Lil Mrs (my virtual shower buddy) - Please keep us posted on your condition. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

ok...that's all for now. I'll be back later with some pics. Hope the rest of you are doing well.

jbenny - you read my mind. I just got back from my hospital bag shopping at Target. I was looking at pads while i was there.
RO's are there any pads you thought worked better than other? Should I go for the thick maxi or will the overnight ultrathins be fine?

shamocha ~ So glad to hear from you. I've been thinking of you and wondering how things have been going. I'm jealous that you're moving to Phoenix. I love it there - we'd been planning to move there but didn't since I got pg with DS a few months after our wedding. We'd still love to move there in the next year or so.

Lil Mrs I hope everything's okay. Let us know what's going on when you feel up to it. ((HUGS))

Hospital bag I haven't started packing mine, either. I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow so I figure I'll give it another week and then get on it.

Can I just say this GD thing isn't as bad as I thought it would be? I've lost 1.5 pounds from this diet. So, I'm at about 25.5 pounds gained. Not too bad. :D

Okay- I'm back. They did every test under the sun (Contraction belt, pelvic exam, checked for dilation, u/s, you name it) and they didn't find anything wrong. The baby is just messing with me. I felt like such a dork I wanted to flash my underwear to prove that I was spotting. I am so relieved!! I feel like I was overreacting at first in the office but then I remembered that hey... I called the CIGNA nurse line she told me to call, I called my OB's nurse line and they said to come in. I was just checking to see at what point I should come in since I have spotted in the past. Plus I can never be too safe when it comes to my baby.

Oh and get this Izzy you'll love this... They used that same portable u/s machine on me today and still no damn picture!!! What are the chances of that!!

Thank you so much to everyone for your thoughts and support. I really feel that you all help me get through this.

Hospital bag- We already have this all packed (as per DH's request). I was told on my tour that they provide you with the pads but for afterwards I bought the super overnight with wings.

Shaq- You look great in your shower picture- How funny is it that a lot of the trends that are out now allow us to wear something besides maternity clothes.

SarahnCraig- Thanks for the post on all the great freebies and discounts. We'll have to hit them up!

Shamocha- That is great news about the move and cool that your family threw you such a generous shower!!

Lil-Mrs: Glad everything is OK. I also instantly wondered if it was the mucus plug. Take it easy.

Weddings: I also have one June 3rd, and another the 1st weekend in July (2 weeks after my EDD). What the heck am I going to wear? I did buy this dress from Babystyle (of course it's now on sale for much cheaper:rolleyes: ). It looked good 2 months ago when I received it, but now I'm not so sure. I'm hoping I can get away with it for both weddings.
http://www.babystyle.com/images/product/19024_MID_l.jpg

Hospital Bag: Haven't even thought about it.

BRU: Our TRU changed their return policy about 6 months ago. They no longer accept returns without a receipt.

Nothing else going on around here. DH worked all weekend, so we have this weekend to spend together. I can't wait. I have an appt this Thursday, so hopefully all will be well and they won't order any more ultrasounds. I would like some part of this pregnancy to be "normal."

Hello again :)

LilMrs Glad you're ok. I first thought mucous plug too but guess the dr's would know.

shaq Beautiful as ever!!

Shamocha Good luck w/the move and congrats on the new house.

RO's are there any pads you thought worked better than other? Not sure about the others, but I needed the heavier pads at first. I bled a lot. I used the maxi with wings. If I remember correctly, one pack was enough. I'm just going to start with that and if I need more get them as needed. I did however forget to get those tonight :/

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So the diabetes center called today and I have one more chance tomorrow morning to get my numbers low. If they aren't, then I start insulin tomorrow night. They actually wanted me to get my Rx filled today so I'd be ready to go tomorrow.
I am so glad that I'm at the end.
Have a great night everyone.
jay&erinn
Pads: I definately needed the heaviest ones I could find initially. I'm going to get 2 packs to be on the safe side. After about 4-5 days, the bleeding slows down to more like a period (if I remember correctly). Then I started using the thinner pads. It made it easier since I was still using the tucks pads covered in the ointment they gave me to help my tears heal on top of the pads.
Shoot! I knew there was something I wanted to look for at Walmart and forgot- the Tucks pads and/or witch hazel pads.
Pink I am sorry you are sick. I hope it goes away quick!
Kaden's How old is your DS?
DS I think that is sweet that your DH wan'ts to be involved with the baby shower! I hope that rumor for BRU isn't true, if so I think that will be really bad for their buisness.
Nikos Why aren't they limiting your activity any further? Wouldn't you rather your baby bake for at least another couple of weeks?
Ryan I got some today, but haven't eaten them yet! I wonder when your shower is? I bet the suspense is killing you!
Shaq I am glad you had a great shower. Don't worry, I haven't even touched the surface of packing a bag either. It is something I want to get done soon though!
Shouldaeloped Wow, I can't believe that lady. She should just stop asking how you are if she is going to be like that. I too don't like being the center of attention, but once you start opening gifts you get into and it is fun!
Mrsbrownie I am so glad you got the furniture all taken care of! No worries at all. You are allowed to complain, you are pg!:)
Ruby You poor thing! I wish they could do something for you.
Lilmrs I am surprised they didn't have you come in at least for your peace of mind. I has spotting with my DS late in pg and still don't know why. I am glad that all is ok with you!
Jbenny I don't remember how many pads I went through, but I do know that I used a big box from Costco and then some. I can't remember how long it lasted, but it wasn't as heavy as I expected.
Shamocha Congrats on moving! I bet that is so exciting! If you don't mind me asking, where in CA are you moving from?
Jay I tried on that dress, and it just didn't fit me right. I have to go see how much it is now though.
Maryanne Great belly shots! I really like the color of your nursery, we almost went with that bedding. It is very cute! Your cat is too cute.
RO's are there any pads you thought worked better than other? Should I go for the thick maxi or will the overnight ultrathins be fine?
I found that the thick ones were best for about the first week. Then I went on to the ultrathin ones. I really like the brand Always.
~~~~~~~~~

My next appt. is on Wednesday, I am anxious to see if my bedrest will be changed at all. I am not sure if she is going to repeat the Ffn test, I hope she does. It is great for peace of mind. I had a shower yesterday, it was great and the baby got lots of great presents!

Good Morning All :D

maryanne Love the belly pix. The nursery looks great too. And your fur baby is too funny.

excited I'm not sure why I'm not on bedrest. I guess cause they weren't/aren't coming in a pattern. They told me on Sun if I was in labor they wouldn't stop me.
I'm supposed to take it easy, however with a very active 20 month old, that is impossible.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 Quick Things
1. My before breakfast number was low. Let's see what happens after breakfast and lunch.
2. Our desk has one bid so far :D It ends at 9 tonight and there are still 9 people watching it so hopefully there will be a bidding war. Even if there isn't, it's sold :D I'm so excited. Now we don't have to try to squeeze it into Nikolas' tiny room when we move the rooms around.
Ok, Niko wants out of the crib. BBL.
Pads -- I don't remember how many I went through. Was it half a pack or 1.5 packs? I just know that I was left with a half pack of pads at the end (which have been sitting in the bathroom vanity ever since - I hate pads).
I used Always brand, which was my brand of choice before I discovered tampons years ago. 3 years ago was the first time I'd used pads in probably close to a decade, and I was soooo shocked at how THIN and absorbant they'd become. But I still hated the feeling of wearing them...
************
DH arrived home with our minivan last night. I haven't driven it yet, but we spent a good half hour inside it last night checking out all the features (Connor did the most button pushing - he was in HEAVEN!).
Man, this Chevy Uplander is great - lots of nooks & crannies for storage, an overdose on cupholders (I counted at least 12 -- yet the van seats only 7), and they've really thought of everything in this van! And there's so much room - it's going to fit our family of 4 perfectly (with just 3 of us, it *is* sort of too big...but will be perfect size for us soon!)
Lil Mrs: Thinking of you …
Sara: I have been wearing the bella band once in awhile because I feel like the baby can be so heavy at times on my lower belly… I am carrying really low to begin with so when he/she gets into certain positions it can really ache… I find it helps sometimes… but in my opinion if it works sometimes… why not get it.
Formal Events: I have a wedding that I am IN on May 6th (so I have been looking for panty hose that do not look ridiculous w/ the dress).. good news is the dress I am wearing is black… and the my girlfriend has BEEN so supportive of everything… we also have a wedding in Outter Banks, NC on the May 19th that DH is in.. and I cannot go… my dr. suggested not flying and then we have a wedding May 27th which is 2 weeks before my due date… I am going to be HUGE in everyone’s wedding albums… lol
Shaq: Cute outfit!!
Maryanne: Love that photo of the cat… hysterical.
Connors: YEAH FOR THE NEW CAR
31 weeks, 6 days
I am now officially as big as a house. I tried to go find something to wear to my shower this weekend at Motherhood and couldn't find a thing. I can't imagine how much bigger I can get. Does anyone know if what Dept. stores carry maternity? I may venture out to the mall if any of our stores carry it. I'm sad, I wanted to look cute at my shower...
connors glad u guys are enjoying the new car.
shamocha i had to laugh when u said those 350 diapers would last u just one mth! i guess us first time mummies are in for a rude awakening with how fast diapers disappear! good luck with the move.
weddings i just went to one a week ago and we got an invite for one on May 27 but its 4hrs away so we wont be going to it - pretty disappointed but oh well. at least i wont have to find a dress or something decent to wear!
Maryanne: I love the color of your nursery - that is the color we are going to do ours or something very close. Great belly shots.
Maryanne – your belly shots and nursery pics look great. I really like the font for the name. That reminds me that I need to get going on the name for the room.
Name – I think I’m going to mount the letter to a piece of wood, decorate the entire thing and then mount the one piece on the wall. I will have to secretly do this since only DH and I know.
LilMrs – glad everything is looking okay.
Shamocha – AZ sounds wonder…hot, but beautiful. Luckily it is a dry heat…humid heat is miserable.
Thanks for the input on pads. I will get some thick and thins the next time I’m out shopping.
Excited – glad you had a great shower. I hope I will be able to report the same thing after ours in less than 4 weeks.
I went to BRU yesterday to check out my registry. I had heard on here and some other boards that it is best to delete stuff at the store since deleting online doesn’t always delete stuff on the in-store registry. Kind of weird, but I definitely experienced it. I had 3 things still on the in-store registry that I had removed from the online registry. I’m glad I checked because one of the items was the infant car seat and we already have that. Luckily no one had purchased any of the items that I had “deleted”. I forgot to check on the change in return policy. I’ll have to remember that for my next trip.
I was wrong about the tank I like from Target. I have and love the Merona seamless tank tops. They are the best ones I have so far. They are not maternity and they cover my belly better than the maternity ones I bought from Old Navy. I picked up two more yesterday when I was shopping for hospital bag contents. I’m almost done. I need to add breast pads (does the hospital typcically supply breast pads?, slippers, flip flops, clothes to wear home, hard candy and possibly a robe (I may just wear another hospital gown on backwards). I will ask for a list of hospital supplied stuff at Monday’s childbirth class at my OB’s office.
Connorsmommy – congrats on getting your van.
Shaq – I love the color as well. It is one of my favorite colors to wear. Where did you get the top? I love it!
Weddings – I have not even thought about what I’m going to wear for the June 3rd wedding. I have a black dress from my cousin, but I’ve had no need to wear it yet and I don’t know if it will even fit at 37 weeks. My shower outfit is another story. SIL wants to buy me a top, but she is 2.5 hours away and I told her I would have to try it on for size. Depending on the cut of the shirt, I’m between a L and an XL. By the shower in 4 weeks who knows what size my belly will fit into.
ds I'm so glad that you posted that. I also did a lot of deleting from my online registry. If those deleted items were still on the in-store registry and were purchased, would they show up as purchased online when checking your registry? I think BRU needs to take over their own website from Amazon. There are so many problems with things not matching up between online/in-store and you can't even use a gift card online.
ds2003
04-25-2006, 08:51 AM
Jbenny – I don’t know if a purchased “deleted” item would show up on the online purchased area. I wish I knew what caused some things to stay on the in-store registry. The three that I had deleted were added in-store and not online, but there were other things that I added in-store and successfully deleted online. I agree that BRU needs to take over their website.
ds thanks for posting that info about BRU cosi deleted a bunch of stuff sunday night and i will definitely head to the store t'row check on that.
the top is from South Africa....my mum gave it to me actually. she gave a bunch of tops that were too small for her but would be good enough for me to grow into :D
our nursery is NOWHERE near complete at all but here's a few pics to show the progress: (more in my journal on P57)
this is what the room looked like before we started
here's one section of the finished paint job with the stripes and chair rail
the top half is cream (more eggshell) and then choc and sage with white trimmings
and with an almost ready crib (we're waiting on 2 replacement parts)
We got the baby bed this weekend so now we have all the furniture & are about to start the nursery this weekend or next - I REALLY want the nursery done soon.
Wooohooo ... We have finally decided on a name ....
Congrats on picking a name sunshine. I like Bailey.
Shaqangel – I can’t see your pics from work, so I will have to wait to get home. I’ll have to settle for a shirt in the same color, since I love that color on me.
Finish nursery – yeah right. It looks a wreck right now with half of the closet contents in the middle of the floor. Other than that, the room is ready. Crib is set, dresser is stocked…we are just waiting on the glider, but I’m thinking of putting it in our bedroom initially.
I have a lot of catching up to do!
LilMrs: Thank goodness everything checked out okay at the doctor's! I'm so relieved for you!
NikosMom: Hope you can avoid the insulin. You certainly don't need another thing to worry about... Sending you good thoughts.
Shaq: You looked great at your shower. That color is beautiful on you. I know you said it wasn't maternity, but do you remember where you got that shrug/cardigan? I could use something to cover up during the wedding I'm going to this weekend. And the nursery is coming along wonderfully. Good job!
Maryanne: Great progression on the belly growing and getting the nursery together. :D
Sunshine: Congratulations on picking a name for your little one! It must be nice to finally have that detail settled.
Finishing the nursery: We have the hardwood floors done, the furniture set up, the closet emptied and painted, and the walls painted. DH and his friends need to fix the ceiling (replace the ugly popcorn ceiling) and then we are all set. I would like to find an area rug for the room and replace the current nursery linens with the ones we registered for...but I actually don't mind the linens we inherited so this isn't a huge priority for me.
Weddings/dressing up: We are going to a black tie optional wedding this weekend. I'm not wearing a maternity dress though. I found a Max Studio dress a few months ago that fits great. It is all about the empire waist and stretchy fabric!
Hospital bag: I haven't packed mine yet. I think I'll wait until my 34 or 36 week appointment.
Speaking of that, my next appointment is tomorrow night. Hoping it will be quick and uneventful.
So, does anyone freak out if the baby's movement decreases? The baby was pretty quiet last night and I got fixated on it. Luckily, he or she is moving around a lot more this morning and now I can laugh at myself for being sucha worry wart. I know movement can vary from day-to-day but when it decreases; this bit of knowledge does little to calm me.
Excited bride- hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. Glad you had fun at your shower.
Nikos- I hope that your appointment goes well and you don’t have to take insulin. Yay for getting the desk sold.. Hoping for that bidding war!!
Connorsmommy- What are you waiting for??? Go take that van to the races and see what it can do!!
Shaq- When I first saw the 350 diapers I thought "Wow" and then I looked and realized our Costco packs of diapers come with 250ish and we have 2 of those and a smaller pack of 100. It's crazy how many diapers we are going to go through!
So DH is such a freaking sweetheart!! While I was on here last night telling everyone that I was okay he went and got me a bouquet of Gerber Daisies and Dahlias!! (It’s so funny before planning my wedding I would have had no clue what the name of the flowers were and I would have just called them bright wild flowers).
Oh and I forgot to mention yesterday. DH also cleaned and detailed my car for me! I have become such a slob and just take it to the local car wash. It’s like having a brand new car!! I can’t believe how pretty it is!!
ds2003
Decreased movement – I sometimes think of it. The weird thing is, I think about his decreased movement that day and then right afterwards he will start to move around as if he knew I needed him to move for reassurance. It is a funny thing. I can definitely tell a difference in his movements. I feel fewer kicks and more squirming. I actually like the squirming better because it causes my belly to ripple and that is really cool to watch and feel.
lil-mrs - Gerbera daisies are my favorite flower.
absolutely! i'm constantly poking my belly if i dont feel anything for a while. if that fails i munch on ice! definitely gets baby moving. but some days (like today) baby is MUCH more squirmy so i LOVE those days :D
excited ~ DS is 20 months old.
I had my u/s this morning. Got both good and bad news...
The good:
She's measuring right on track. 32w6d - weighing about 4 lbs. 9 oz. which is the 45th percentile.
The neutral:
I'm measuring ahead because I have an AFI of 37. That just means I have tons of amniotic fluid.
The bad:
Her stomach is dilated which could mean she has duodenal atresia - a blockage preventing passage of things from the stomach to the intestines. I have to go to Minneapolis to have another u/s done next week. They do a more detailed u/s to see if she really has this. If she does it will mean surgery as soon as she's born. Babies with this projectile vomit as soon as they eat so surgery is a must. The really scary part - 1/3 of babies with duodenal atresia have Down Syndrome.
My doctor said that my high amniotic fluid level could be the cause of her stomach being dilated but it may not be the cause. I'm terrified right now. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I'll update as I find anything out.
I am such a spacer.. I forgot to post remarks and SOs from the last page!!
Shaqangel- I love the color combination for your nursery!!
Sunshine- Congrats on getting a name picked out!! I really like the name Bailey
Kaedensmommy- That is so scary!! I will be keeping you in my thoughts. I am so sorry for the scare... I know you have got to be terrified. Poor thing my stomach is dropping just imagining what you must be going through.
Finishing the nursery- Ours has been finished for a while but we are always rearranging it and toying with it. I haven't posted it because it is pretty boring and I haven't settled on the arrangement of the room yet. Plus we are still waiting for DH's uncle to get his own place so we can pawn some of our extra crap on him and until then it's sitting in the nursery.
Worrying about decreased movement- With this lil guy there is no such thing!! If I think that I haven't felt him in a while I just take a few deep belly breaths and he kicks in the same spot to let me know he is okay. Yesterday while they were checking me for contractions they had this thing that I click whenever I feel him move and they didn't believe that he moved that much until they saw him on the u/s.
Maryanne- I want to let you know that I am not ignoring you- I posted comments on the July thread.
DH also rearranged the rest of the house a little yesterday and we have the PnP all set up in our room waiting for baby.
I also wanted to let you all know of a picture thing online that DH found yesterday... It's called photoloop.com and you download the program and it keeps a constant photo loop so we have all my progression shots in there in order and you can allow other people with photoloop to gain access to it and they can add their own photos in. Also they can click on the pictures and enlarge them or print them. I thought it was pretty cool.
Kaedens, sorry about the scary u/s results! I hope that it is just because of the excess fluid. Did you have any Downs screening done earlier in pregnancy?
weddings We've got one May 6. I have no idea what I'm going to wear. I have a black dress from babystyle that I bought on sale over 3 years ago when I was pg with DD but never wore it. I have to try it on though and see if it even remotely looks decent. I really don't want to buy something. It's fairly plain but since it is b;ack I'm thinking I can dress it up with a wrap and some nice shoes (assuming my feet do not swell between now and then!)
I had an u/s on Friday to see if the placenta had moved away from the cervix. It seems that it has, but she couldn't find it for sure, so I'm still up in the air a bit. I have a regular midwife appointment this afternoon so hopefully I can get some more answers.
I have been feeling generally crappy recently. No specific complaints, just tired, crabby and blah. My DH is super busy and our house is a disaster and I can't do much housework before getting too tired or sore. DD is testing a lot of limits these days and that is stressful as well.
We also still have no name for this baby. I finally found one that I really feel is the right one, but DH doesn't like it. I keep thinking that we should come up with a girls name too, just in case, but since 3 ultrasounds have unquestionably said this is a boy, I guess we don't need to.
hospital bag, nursery, etc. Haven't really done anything here. We already have all the furniture and the room from DD, but it is a mess. I'm in the middle of moving DD's clothes from the nursery to her new room, plus we are collecting baby boy clothes in there and using it as an ironing room. I suppose I should pack a bag, but since I'm not planning to spend the night I don't need too much. For DD, I just packed right before we left, but I did have in my head what I wanted to take.
kaeden's mommy- crossing my fingers that everything is going to be okay. I'm sorry you have such a scare right now. please take care of yourself.
decreased movement- yes. she scares me quite often. it seems like she is very active for 5 days and then sleeps a lot for 2. those two days send me over the edge. I have talked to my doctor about it several times as it really makes me nervous and she said as long as she is moving every day, regardless of how hard she is kicking or moving, than not to worry. I am trying to remind myself of that. the only thing i can do to get her to move when she isn't moving is to lay down and not move at all. then she wakes up!
nursery- I am at a werid place. we have the crib, changing table, rocking chair and nightstand. I am trying to decide what else we need. but no, it's not done.
weddings- I have one August 5th which thankfully I am not in but I am sure I won't be looking my best. DH's best friend is getting married May 6th in Houston and my doctor wouldn't let me go. pretty bummed about that one.
sunshine- I like your name choice- Bailey was one of our top picks too.
lil mrs- glad your scare was nothing to worry about. I think I would have had a heart attack!
pregnancy lunch- I just had to laugh at myself as I looked down and realized what I am eating- grilled cheese with sweet pickles and macaroni cheese with jalapeno's on top. nice. anyone else having any weird cravings lately?
Kaeden's-You will be in my prayers as well. I know how it feels to not know for sure if your baby is ok or not so I am really feeling for you right now. I also know how good it feels to hear everything is ok, and I'm really hoping you get to hear that everything is.
LilMrs-Glad to hear everything seems to be ok.
Nikko's-I hope you don't have to start insulin. Atleast it probably won't be for long.
I ended up venturing out to the ON that has maternity and between them and Motherhood came up with two outfits. Some of the ON stuff will go back once I decide on which one to wear on Sat. That ON isn't close so I got a couple of things and will return them to my local ON that does not carry maternity.
Maryanne-Pretty nursery and name!
Shaq-I am absolutely loving your nursery. Everything about it is awesome. I'm too lazy to do all that. I come up with cool ideas and never follow thru!
Sunshine-I see you finally decided to name that baby! It's very pretty.
Hospital Bag-Will probably start at 36 weeks unless the Dr. thinks he's coming early.
Nursery done?-Nope. He's got furniture and that's it. We will finish buying what he needs after the shower on Sat.
Kaeden's-definitely keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine having to wait a whole week for answers, can't they see you sooner? Pregnancy comes with so many uncertanties and scares but usually everything turns out well and I really hope that's the case with you.
LilMrs-glad youre doing OK. Babies are little tricksters....
Shaq-I absolutely love your choice of colors, so unusual and playful!
Weddings-I have one May 13th about an hour ride from home, I'll probably have to stop twice just to pee! I am not buying a maternity outfit one week before I'll probably be induced so I am just going to throw something together and end up in flip flops too. I am in the "I'm pregnant and I don't care phase"
Nursery-NOT DONE! DH put the new floor in this weekend. We still need trim work, baseboards, closet door and haven't even ordered furniture for Colton yet, so I guess they will be sharing a room for awhile....bummer
Ohhhh, May 1 is next Monday. I’m very excited because that means that some June babies will be here very soon. Who is stepping up to the plate first.
Crazy cravings – I just love very spicy foods. When I go to Mickey D’s (McDonald’s) I like to add sweet and sour sauce to just about everything. Filet of Fish with tarter sauce, sweet and sour sauce and sometimes even ketchup. Oohh Yum. Before being pregnant I would never (unless forced) choose to eat at McDonald’s. Now it is my first choice. I think I will have some tonight then go home and eat some spinach to get in my dark green leafy vegetables for today.
Her stomach is dilated which could mean she has duodenal atresia - a blockage preventing passage of things from the stomach to the intestines.
I wish you all the best. Whatever you can do to keep your mind off this for the next week would be good. Focus on what is going right. Hang in there!
FWIW, I think this is the condition that a previous co-worker's baby had. This baby did not have down syndrom. Surgery was performed at birth and the parents had to provide special care for the baby (instead of changing diapers there was an external bag until healing was done). I thought it seemed so scary but the parents seemed totally calm and confident that the baby would be fine. There is something to be said about modern medicine! I don't know if they had received this diagnosis before birth. As far as I know (I've lost touch with them for a couple of years now), their child was totally fine.
Am way behind here, but have just spent some time backtracking to catch up.
Kaeden's Mommy I'll definitely keep you and Mackenzie in my prayers. Sorry you are dealing with this, but please have faith.
Sunshine Love the name pick!
Nikos Mommy Can't believe you are 1cm dialated! Wow-- so exciting!
Quick update on me. I went to the Dr. yesterday and all looked well. Only downer was that I gained 5 lbs. in just 2.5 weeks. So right now I'm up 30 total with 8.5 weeks to go. More than they'd like to see. I'm trying not to feel bummed about it.
Also, speaking of hospital bags I went on a major freak out shopping spree to start getting ours going, so I cracked up when I saw that this was the topic of discussion. I was like a woman on a mission yesterday. I bought a nursing gown, bathrobe, comfy PJ set, 2 nursing bras, 2 nursing tanks, slippers, slipper socks and tennis balls (in case I'm one of the lucky ones to get back labor).
Baby's room is getting there. My parents bought us the mattress, which is being delivered next week, so once that's there I can wash the sheets, dust ruffle, etc. and get that all set. Still haven't gotten to decorations and am waiting until after our shower (May 7th) to pick up anything else, i.e. changing pad and covers, baskets, etc.
I am so, so excited that the shower is now less than two weeks away. I have an outfit all picked out, but let me just chime in with you other gals who feel this way: shopping at 8 mos. PG is not easy! In any event, I found a cute top at Motherhood and am pairing it with black capris and pink open-toed sandals, a nice necklace, etc. and making the best of it. I'm very small in the chest area, but the stomach is nice and big, so I really need a small on top and medium or large on the bottom, so many styles just look awful. Plus I hate buying more clothes knowing I'll only need them for a few more weeks.
Anyway, to all others I didn't get a chance to address directly, hope all is well with you. Be back soon....
Hello All :D
Who's going first?
My money is on Niko's mommy
my money is also on Nikos Mommy
I am going with Nikos Mommy
You guys had me cracking up (with a little bit of panic) when I read these :D Although I want him here, on the same hand the nursery isn't ready so he needs to wait :D
I'm going to let Brian see these posts tonight.
I'm only 1 cm dilated. I was excited though cause like I said, with Niko, I was a scarce 1 cm 3 days before he was born - which was at 39 weeks. I'm sure some of our RO's are already dilated, if not some of our newbies.
We're off to Target tonight to look at a sit and stand stroller. I'm then going to come home and hopefully see that the sale price of our desk exploded on eBay. Either way I have to finish packing up the stuff in the desk we have now. I've already started looking at a new desk. I originally thought Ikea, but I just saw two from Staples that look pretty cool. Brian will be the deciding factor though.
Ok, I need a snack, baby is hungry. BBL.
OMG i've been gone 4 days and had to read like 8 pages...sheesh ;)
No time for SO's since my lunch is almost over now, things are going ok. Peyton is still measuring 3 weeks ahead and i've been getting more and more imobile,not sleeping and having severe evil crotch pain. My next appointment is May 2nd 3pm.
Dr is going to do a u/s at 36 week appt to see just how big he really is and I'm kinda scared, she said that may be the day they move my due date. We shall see!
I have shower pics, but really most of them I was talking so I look mildly retarted:rolleyes: I'll try to post one soon though.
We have started on the nursery, the crib is together and we bought the recliner(its amazing!) but the changing table came in the wrong color so we are delayed a few weeks in finishing the room. We are moving in Aug so we are not painting at all, just hanging pictures and stuff until the move.
Sunshine~ LOVE the name Bailey Hope. Now I can finish my project for you :)
Hugs to all, be back later!
Why is it that when I read posts from those of you who are 33 or 34 weeks along, I think, "Wow. She is really really pregnant. Her baby is coming so soon!" But, on the other hand, I feel like I have all the time in the world. There is a disconnect here. :eek:
This is my problem. Med on top but a large on the bottom in most things. If it fits in the belly it doesn't fit in the boobs!
Who's going first- Well I'm wondering who Nikosmommy guess is??? I'm still curious to see who her dream was about. I honestly have no clue. Even though she has an early induction schedule it could really be any one of us. Babies are just so unpredictable.
Dan's girl- I cannot believe that you may be so close!! That is so crazy... Best of luck at your next appointment!
So you ladies are going to get me in so much trouble!! Some one mentioned baby announcments so I got playing in Paintbrush. Here's what I came up with...
http://static.flickr.com/48/135016042_6cc942831d.jpg?v=0
What do you guys think??
Maternity clothes- My problem is that it seems like maternity clothes are only made for the the girls that get perfect basketball bellies. Sorry but I'm a hips girls and my boobs have just about doubled! I can't seem to find anything that fits both my boobs and my belly and the only pants I can wear are the ones with the fold down big elastic waist band and I have to fold it in thirds and tuck it under my belly.
Amurphy- I have the same disconnect. I remember looking at someone's post that was 32 weeks along a couple of weeks ago and thinking "Wow she is so close!!" But when I reach 32 weeks I'm thinking that I still have a complete 2 months to go (which I don't). I guess it won't really sink in until I start training my replacement at work.
Sunshine~ Yeah, something special just for you, so if you change the name I'm gonna have to start over... LOL :p
Don't worry about it being a name for dogs, so many people names are that way these days.
LILMRS~ I know it's crazy. I just keep thinking, that possibly by memorial day I might be a mommy. Of course everyday that I come to work I hope its then too because this place is driving me crazy!!
American Idol is on tonight, I'm excited!! I LOVE Andrea Bocelli, should be interesting to see who can pull off his operatic music though. I studied him in college and even for a trained opera major like I was, he is hard to sing.
Ok, back to work for now!
Whew! Loads to catch up on...
LilMrs - I’m so glad that you’re alright. Take good care of yourself and get some rest! AWESOME drafts of your birth announcements! I think they look great.
Nikos Mommmy - How did your test go today? I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you that you don’t have to take insulin. And congrats on being 1cm already!
Shaq - You looked so wonderful at your shower! Definitely have the cute pregnant lady with the glow thing going on. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE what you’ve done with your nursery! If only our walls weren’t textured, I would have loved to do something like yours.
Sunshine - Congrats on your name decision! It’s a great choice. Bailey is a name my DH keeps bringing up from time to time. However, I had a cat named Bailey, and it would be too weird.
Kaeden’s Mommy - I’m so sorry to hear about your ultrasound results. I know you have to be a bit terrified of the news. Hopefully the u/s next week will provide some different and reassuring answers. I’m sending you all my thoughts…
Orange - Ah, my previa buddy. I’m glad to hear that they think your placenta has moved up a bit. This gives me hope! Do you think your MW will take you off of pelvic rest then?
Hospital bag - I’ve got my toiletries bag already packed and in there (since I didn’t need to use it to travel for my shower, it was already stocked), and I’ve thrown in things like a watch, a deck of cards, a washcloth. I need to get some other things together too and try to buy some new pj’s that open in the front. Does anyone know where I can buy short-sleeved PJ sets that button up the front?
cravings - none that are “out there” in general, but that are unusual for me. I used to HATE bananas, and now I can’t get enough of them. And though I don’t eat red meat, I’ve asked DH for a couple of bites of steak at restaurants, and one time even ordered myself a hamburger! Only ate half of it though.
Finishing the nursery - Well, we basically have some stuff lying around the floor that we need to organize. It’s painted, but that’s about it. However, our nursery furniture arrives tomorrow!!! It’s being delivered AND assembled, which I’m so grateful for. I’m soooo excited. Tonight DH and I are having an Organization Party to get everything ready, and tomorrow I plan on spending the day washing things and getting it all set up.
By the way, ladies, it’s Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s!!!! A co-worker went on his lunch break today and came back with one for me. His story of telling the counter person to fork another free one over or else an angry 7-month pregnant woman as going to kill him was pretty entertaining.
Niko's how were your sugar levels the rest of the day? I'm hoing they were good. ~*~*~*low sugar vibes*~*~*~
Sunshine I love the name Bailey. FWIW, I don't know anyone who has a dog named Bailey. I had some really good friends a few years ago and their daughter's name was Bailey. Always loved it, and considered it for our little girl, but DH vetoed.
Lil Mrs so glad everything is okay.
Excited I friended you on LJ. :)
amurphy Yup, I'm 31 weeks today and I'm still feeling like I have FOREVER to go. haha. Joke's on me, right?
Nursery *snort* yeah, right. Haven't even started. :rolleyes: DH and my dad are going to start tearing the walls out this weekend, so hopefully by the end of May they'll have the new sheetrock and flooring done upstairs and we can get to painting and everything. I'm getting impatient. (I'm sure you all can imagine.)
So, the one thing that sucks about this diabetes thing is that when I work till 7:00 and don't get home till 7:30 I need to actually cook dinner. What I wouldn't give for a big bowl of mac & cheese. :p
Hello again :D
LilMrs Those announcements look gorgeous. I'm going to make my own, but all I'm using is a plain white generic stock card, a piece of clip art, and some stamping up stamps that I got. I did them for Nikolas and will do the same for this one. I included a seperate wallet size pix of him.
Mystikal Wish I could help you with the eating late thing. It does suck when you have to eat, and it's that late.
HOSP BAG ADDITION I was going through my hosp bag list and remembered something. I'm including the babies first year calendar so they can stamp his foot print in it. So, include anything you want stamped with the baby's footprint.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well the good sugar vibes worked today :D My numbers were low so I'm ok for today. However, I know they are watching me closely so I just have to make sure they stay down.

I told Brian that you have me going first and he said, "yeah, it's a June mommy thread and you're being induced in May, of course you'll go first." I then explained that anyone can go at any time even if they are due in June. He then got it.

So we went and looked at a sit and stand stroller tonight. We liked it but have one more to look at. And we sold our desk. Although there wasn't a bidding war, it sold $25 over the initial list price. So as soon as they pick it up, we can start getting the room ready for the boys.

Well I'm off to bed. Have a dr appt at 9 tomorrow morning. Have a great night.

Maryanne I am feeling the same pretty much. But getting very aggrivated with bedrest! lol!

Nikosmommy Oh I hear you, I have a 23month old who keeps me a bit busy, when I don't have help. That is strange that they wouldn't stop your labor at 34weeks. I am glad your sugar was low! And yay for selling the desk!

Connersmommy That is awesome about the van! I so want to get one too!

Pink JCPenny and Khols carry maternity.

Mrsbrownie I don't think hospitals typically carry breast pads.

Shaq Great nursery! We are planning to do chair railing and stripes too!

Sunshine Our nursery is no where near complete! Congrats on choosing a name!

Amurphy I freak all the time when I haven't felt her moving in awhile, especially because she moves so much!

Lilmrs Thank you! Aw, what a sweetie your DH is. That sounds like a neat website. Thank you for sharing. Those annoucements are cute!

Shaq Yes, having a shower does make it all more real!

Kadensmommy I am so sorry! I hope you can find some answers at your u/s!

Mystikal I will friend you back.

Swedish fish Do you guys eat the all red ones or the assortment? I tried the all red ones tonight, they were ok, but VERY addicting! lol!

First, I'm really far behind and don't have the time (or patience) do to replies right now.

The Good ~ I hit 35 weeks today!

The Bad ~ Who mentioned going first? - I had my weekly M/W appointment today and so much for me saying I had a perfect pregnancy and nothing to worry or complain about.

It seems my Blood Pressure is REALLY ELEVATED (I started with a very low blood pressure) and was measuring 130/90 and 132/90. I also had gained 6 pounds since my last appointment. My midwife is pretty concerned and is coming to my house tomorrow morning just to measure my BP again. She said she didn't even want me driving, in case that elevated it.

If it's still high tomorrow, I will have to have a consult with an OB and go from there. She said that since I'm not at 37 weeks yet, they might let me go on bedrest (no working any longer) or worst case, have me deliver. This baby could make an appearance VERY SHORTLY!

Wanna take bets on who goes first?

The Ugly ~ The midwife was taking my measurements, I'm now measuring a full two weeks ahead (was only 5 days ahead last appointment) and she thinks the baby has flipped and is now bum down. I have to go for an U/S next week to check. She also commented that 'This isn't going to be a little baby.' So, not only does she think that the baby is now positioned the wrong way, he's also facing the wrong way (his back against my back, face out) and he's going to be a MONSTER!

It was just an all-round bad appointment and I'm a little worried, a little panicked and feeling a little scared. Luckily, we have everything ready at home and he could come any day, but I just want him to be healthy.

Wish me luck tomorrow...will update when I know something. I'm hoping it's all for not, but we will see.

Kim - I'm sorry to hear about your appointment today. It sounds pretty scary. Try to relax and take it easy (eaiser said then done, right?). I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and sending all the best thoughts and wishes your way...Do they suspect eclampsia or something with the elevated blood pressure?

I just want you guys to know what an amazing group of women you are. I am so grateful that you are all in my life.:)

After reading today's posts, I really can;t believe that we are getting so close to baby time...I *should* be one of the last ones to go, since I am officially a july 4th mama...it will be so cool watching everyone as the nest couple of months unfold!

Thanks for the compliments on the name, nursery, and my furball! that picture made me laugh so much when hubby took it.

Here is the link to the wooden lettering that we used for the name...I love ours, but I would suggest that you go for one size thicker than we did...order at least 1/4 inch thick. it will still be light enough to easily hang but less fragile to paint. It took us about 2 weeks to receive our order and the font was Curlz.

Good Morning All :D

MrsBrownie Sorry about the high blood pressure. Your little one still has time to turn. Are you measuring 2 weeks ahead by u/s or fundal measurement? I know fundal measurement is sometimes off. I'm measuring right on time with fundal but the baby is ahead with the u/s. The same thing happened with Nikolas too.
Again, easier said than done, but please try to take it easy and relax. Everything will be fine.

32 weeks

Brownie-Sorry to hear about your appt. Hope everything turns out ok.

Our sheetrock people called and asked to come a day early since it is raining and it's postponed some outdoor work he was to do. I said ok because I want to get it over with but I was planning on spending half the day vegging inside from the rain and the other 1/2 cleaning. Oh well. Need to go take a quick shower before they get here but I had to check in first...of course! I'll be back when he leaves.

Also just wanted to say while I am thiniking about it this kid feels huge. He has been flipping and flopping around for days. It's kinda freaky how big he feels. Anyone else feeling alot of big movements lately?

MrsBrownie ~ Sorry to hear about the high BP. My u/s yesterday was because I was measuring big but the baby is right on schedule. The placenta could be in the way or something else. Thinking happy thoughts for you. :)

5 weeks to go until full-term. Holy moly!

Brownie: I'm thinking of you and your little one! Hope that BP stays down and you can keep that baby in for a bit longer. But remember that your healthcare providers only want what is best for the baby. If they recommend bedrest or early delivery, you must trust that it is the best course of action. Take care!

Brownie: Thinking happy thoughts for you.

Pink: I was just thinking what a piglet this kid feels like... every move it makes my belly rumbles.

amurphy: Spoke to my cousin and she hopes to be getting the Quinny this weekend and sending it sometime in the next 2 weeks... :D I think you said you have decided to get one for the "future" would you purchase that now?

Excitied: Swedish fish... I must say I like the little red ones.. BUT I will eat any kind you give me..

Short Sleeved PJS's: try Jc Penny or Mimi maternity..

As for me: baby is measuring right on target of 33 weeks... and she said everything looks great... so lets hope it stays that way... :D

Mrs. Brownie- I am so sorry. I hope your appointment with your midwife goes well today and you have some good news for us about your bp. Just remember that the baby,no matter what position, is healthy in there and has no clue that there is something wrong. The goal is to have a happy and healthy baby and you are doing just that!

Ryan- I am glad to hear your appointment went well. Only a few more short weeks.

It hit me yesterday while putting up the date on the reader board that starting next week we will be able to tell everyone that our babies are due next month and other CCs will be stalking our thread to see our little ones. How weird is that?

Hello again :)

MrsBrownie Where are you? Not sure what time zone you're in up there, but where are you?

Kaeden's You posted quickly this morning but didn't say anything else about your u/s. Did they tell you anything else?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dr appt went well. I didn't get to see my regular OB but the dr I did see did give me some good info. I asked why they would have let me go on Sun if I was in labor and she said something to the effect that the drugs to stop labor are more harmful after 34 weeks than having the baby. Hope that makes sense :/
Belly is measuring right on time but there is some concern that he is so big on the u/s. I start the BPP's tomorrow so we'll know more then.
I asked about being induced a week early and she said my dr is very conservative and will wait until 38 weeks. She also said with the GD there is a small chance of underdeveloped lungs any earlier than 38 so we'll wait it out. That means I have 3.5 weeks left.
Brian was talking about working o.t. this Sat but I asked him to please get the boys room ready. He then tells me he'd rather wait cause he must work at least one Sat and doesn't want to wait too long and be in Jersey, 45 minutes away and I go into labor. I'd rather him do the room and have that ready. Have to see if he'd want to work on the room in the evenings. It's pretty much painting and moving the furniture, stuff I can't do. However, this must all wait until after the buyer comes and picks up the desk.
Well I'm going to go until later. Have a great day ladies.
Mrs brownie: Hang in there sweetie! I know it is better sad than done - To worry about it can only make your bp higher - we are all here for you. Hugs!
My appt was ok - he looked at my ankles & called them "CHUNKIES" lol ... he told me to continue laying down on my left side for 30 min-1 hr when getting home from work. He said I could look into getting some support hose but it is so hot now that I might consider just getting some knee highs they should help alittle - My BP was 124/72 :) I have gained 6 lbs in 2 wks :mad: doctor said some of that is probably from my swelling ... I am up a total of 24 lbs :( sniff sniff
My next appt is May 9th
Yikes! I was in my Denver office yesterday and couldn't post though I tried to skim. So much going on in here! I don't think I can catch up completely but I'll try!!
Lil_Mrs I'm so glad all appears to be normal. Spotting is scary and can often be very significant so do NOT feel bad for asking for testing and reassurance.
Mrs Brownie I'm sorry your appointment was so discouraging. FWIW, I had pregnancy induced hypertension at the end of my second pg. I started getting readings of 135/90 ish in my 35th week. That is high, but not scary high according to my OB (even though norm for me is in the 105 to 112 range) But I wasn't spilling protein,having headaches or blurry vision(I had to do the 24 hour urine test) so my OB just kept monitoring me and suggested putting my feet up and laying on my left side when possible. I did have horrible swelling. My BP stayed at that level pretty much right up to labor but then BP went as high as 165/102 at the beginning of active labor (at 40w3days). If I hadn't already been in labor, I would've been induced right away. I ended up with magnesium sulfate in an IV during labor which was yucky but not horrible. Anyway, this is all to say that this is not the end of the world, and that you probably won't need to be induced unless you have protein in your urine and or your bp climbs up higher. Thinking good thoughts for you!!! And turn around and head out little baby!
Kaeden's What a scary day you had. I hope you can find some peace in the next week or so before you get more information.
Short sleeve jammies I'd just try non maternity. I bet you'd find something. I have several sets of jammies and all still fit. One set is a size larger than I normally wear, but the rest are just my regular jammies. Most are cut so generously, I can still wear them.
nursery Wyatt is still in the crib and will be for the foreseeable future. Meredith will be in our room til she is about 5 or 6 months. We will either get another crib at that time, or will move Wyatt to a toddler bed if he is ready. We have great Pottery Barn bedding that we used with Rachel that I still love. And the nursery is painted white and sage green. The boy decorations add blue and dark green. The girl decorations add pinks and yellows.
__________________________________________________ ____________
My office is throwing me a "lunch shower" on May 18. I asked them to just keep it to a celebration lunch rather than a shower but I know they will bring small gifts. It is so sweet of them, but I feel a little weird since this is our 3rd, we have most everything we need and they are all so close together. I didn't have any shower at all for Rachel (our first) because we had recently moved. Many friends sent beautiful gifts but we didn't register and bought most all the big stuff ourselves (with the exception of the swing). So I do enjoy the social aspect of getting together to celebrate the baby!
Kaeden's You posted quickly this morning but didn't say anything else about your u/s. Did they tell you anything else?
I haven't heard more yet. I'm still waiting for a call from the other hospital to find out when my u/s will be. We have to drive 4 hours to go there.
I'm feeling a little better today. I did some research and the chances of duodenal atresia is low - just over 1 in 10,000 live births. Also, most sites say it's 20-30% of babies born with it have Downs' Syndrome. So, the chances are small. I am glad we're having the u\s to double check though.
Thanks to everyone for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. I would appreciate any and all thoughts and prayers over the next week or so. It really means a lot that everyone cares so much.
This thread is moving at lightening speed these days, I can't keep up!
I had a MW appt yesterday and got the official results from my ultrasound. They showed no evidence of previa, so I'm off pelvic rest, gina73! It did show that my cervix is on the short side of normal, so she said to just pay attention to any signs of pre-term labor in case my body is gearing up early. It could also be that I just have a short cervix. At my next appointment I get the GBS swab so while I'm undressed she'll do a quick check and make sure that nothing's going on.
Other than that everything is looking good - BP was normal, only gained 1 pound, measuring on target. I think that my 1 pound gain was artificially low though since I wasn't feeling well yesterday and didnt't eat as much as usual.
MrsBrownie, sorry about the discouraging appointment! I hope you can make some time for yourself to relax with your feet up. Funny that your MW said that she thought maybe driving was causing the high BP, I have had the occasional high reading and I know that it was because I had a stressful drive.
NikosMommy, yay for selling your desk! I've been really getting into selling stuff on ebay recently, it is addictive. I also wanted to ask if you looked at the Joovy stroller. I like it better than the sit&stand because there is a small bench seat for the toddler. W're holding off and not getting any sort of double stroller for now since DD is almost 3 and doesn't use a stroller than much any more, but if we do get one it will be the Joovy.
Me again :)
Kaeden's I'm glad you found some reassurance online. And of course you and your little one will be in our prayers, until next week and beyond!!
Orange OMG, eBay can be so addictive. I started to take pix last night to start posting stuff and the batteries in the camera went dead. I still have some comic books and some of my Snoopy collection to post. I always look there first.
I liked the Baby Trend SNS. It was about the same weight as our travel system and it had both the bench and stand for Nikolas. It also had the one hand fold. I did however completely forget to check out the basket underneath :rolleyes: Nikolas got on the back with no problems so that was a plus for us and he had plenty of room to sit.
We're going to look at the Joovy either tomorrow or Friday night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I ordered a first year calendar and memory box for the baby today.
http://www.crgibson.com/MAIN/DetailPage_Large/BA3-3037_large.jpg

I had gotten a Noah's Ark calendar and box for Nikolas and loved it. I just hope the calendar gets here in time so I can take it with me to have his footprints stamped in it.

I also need to motivate and get our pg pix done soon before I'm not pg anymore. I'm going to try to convince Brian to be in the pix with us. We shall see.

Yes, my message title is correct. I've still been considering my due date to be June 2nd all this time, but the doctor said they are definitely considering it to be May 19th. He said anytime there is more than 5 days difference between the 20 week ultrasound due date and the LMP due date they go with the u/s because it tends to be more accurate. So I'm 2 days from the 37 week mark! :eek: :eek: :eek: Plus, my fundal measurement has me right around 36 weeks, maybe even a little bigger.

I'm now up to 32 pounds gained (40 lbs is looking pretty likely at this point), my bp was 110/58, baby's heartrate was 146, and this doctor was able to tell that the baby was head down. (yay!) I also had my Group B Strep test. It was no biggie (other than the fact that this was the first time I'd seen this doctor, so it didn't thrill me to show him my hooha.) I'll find out the result of that next week (yep, appointments every week from here on out.)

So right now, I'm just thinking of all the things I still need to do and realizing that this baby could be here in 3 weeks (although I'm still thinking I'll go closer to June...I feel pretty good.) Our nursery: started, but not finished. Hopefully within the next week and a half. We don't have a carseat or stroller yet (on the agenda for this weekend...I hope to get a Graco Mosaic travel system.) I have a shower Monday night in which I hope people will buy me some of the necessities that I've registered for. My house is a disaster area right now. The list goes on...

MrsBrownie: I'm sorry for such a bummer of an appointment. Hopefully you can find more time to relax in the next few weeks and hopefully that will really help lower your bp and bring better news from the midwife.

NikosMommy: Who knows, maybe I'll give you a run for your money for "first June baby"! :)

Orange: Glad to hear your appointment went well. Yay for no signs of previa!

Graffy ~ Wow! 37 weeks on Friday?! That's great! Get ready - you might be meeting your little one very soon.

I just scheduled my u/s with the perinatologist for May 3rd at 7:30am. I'm happy to have a time in mind. I asked the receptionist if I will get all the information right away or if we'll have to wait. She said the sonographer will do the u/s and the perinatologist will come in right after that and look at the baby and then talk with us right then.

She also mentioned that often times the u/s machines that our hospital uses show things that aren't there or aren't as bad as they look. That gives me some hope. She said almost always it's nothing when people come there. I hope she's right.

Niko&Troi
04-26-2006, 03:02 PM
Kaeden's So glad you got your appt. May 3rd will be here before you know it.

Graffy I'll gladly take the run for the money. It was a little funny when everyone posted me but then last night I felt a little bit of "pressure", like I had to come through, even though there wasn't any :D

So I brought up all the stuff for the crib for the baby. I also found a receiving blanket that I used a lot with Niko and I'll bring that to the hosp. Niko and I went out today after the dr and I picked up some Sketchers pool shoes for $10 and I got my pads last night so everything is ready to go in the hosp bag.

The mom in Niko's play group who is giving us her nursery furniture called today and she's giving us a changing table, crib and 5 drawer dresser. Pretty much everything we need. She also says it's pretty close in color to what we have in Niko's room now so when they're together it will match.

Kaeden's- I'm glad that you got a date for your u/s and that a periontologist is coming in right away. I know waiting for the results is the worse part sometimes.

Still nothing from Mrs. Brownie?? We miss ya girlie--- Gotta check in with us and let us know how you are doing.

Today is pretty boring at work again. I got flowers from my boss for Admin day and I made a bad ass baby announcment (it's in my journal). DH wants to post it in myspace once the baby comes and send it out to his friends. I think I will do some more over the next couple of weeks until I get that perfect one. It should be pretty easy to print them on some card stock paper and we have all the professional supplies here at work. I'll just have to e-mail it to one of our Sales Admins.

Hi girls! Just dropping by to catch up and update on my appt today! Everything is looking good, though my BP was higher than normal, though it's because I was running late and basically waddle-ran into the office. :rolleyes: My dr isn't concerned at all since my BP is normally a tish high 140s/70s. Weight gain so far is 22 lbs and I'm holding steady so hopefully it doesn't go up too much more in the next month!
