How much does your weight fluctuate in a given week, especially during your time of the month? According to my scale, I recently gained, and then lost, 5 pounds in five days, which coincided with the appearance of AF. 5 pounds seems like a lot to me, since I'm normally 118-120 pounds. Does this happen to you, or was my scale just on crack?

Mine fluctuates quite a bit depending in diet and workouts. I am a distance runner so it can be 6lbs+

Well like you've noticed it depends where you are in your cycle. It also depends on how hydrated you are, what you ate the day before, what time it is, what workout you did the day before, etc... It takes a lot of work with your calories and macronutrients to either gain mass/lose fat. Most weight fluctuations are due to water.

I fluctuate 3 pounds from AM to PM. I weigh myself once a week where it actually 'counts' and from having AF last week, I'm down 2 lbs. However, if I take my highest weight from last week to my lowest this week it's around 4-5 lbs. So yep, it happens!

And no, I'm not obsessed with the scale, I just find it pretty darned interesting! :p

mine usually fluctuates anywhere from 3-5 pounds, depending on how much weight-lifting/cardio i do or if i'm pms-ing.

Mine is usually 2-3 pounds, but can be up to 5. I retain a lot of water when I'm dehydrated, so drinking a few extra glasses when I'm feeling bloated can cause me to drop 2 pounds by the next morning.

I only weigh myself once a week, same day, same time each week, and it stays about the same. Actually, it stays the same. We have a digital scale, and for the past three weeks I haven't wavered by even a tenth of a pound.

Mine too! Only I havnt changed weight for over 2 months, weighing myself once a week... I've been going to the gym about 5x a week for 45 mins of cardio and I dont eat like a hog, so i'm kinda stumped.. The scale MUST be broken..

I hate digital scales. One second I'd stand on it and weigh 185, step off and on again and be 140, and this would keep going on till I got an average or at least three similar weights. I didn't think it was a cheapie....paid like $40 for it.

In general I'll waiver up from 2-3 pounds but 5 pounds has happened before.
