I am a golf fan, I enjoy playing and watching. The Masters (which started today) is a very important and exciting tournament, so I look forward to it. I always feel a little guilty, though, because Augusta (the club where The Masters is played), does not allow women to be members. It's a very distinguished club with the best players, but no women are admitted. (They, of course, can attend with a member and play or enjoy the other club benefits). So I am a little conflicted every year. Anyone else feel this way?

I love golf too and do play myself. I'm probably the bane of all modern women's existence but I guess I don't see the problem of the boys having their private club. They allow women on the grounds, they allow women to attend the tournament as fans, they allow them to play with members. I guess I just think that people should be allowed to have their private functions and events if they're not using any public money to support it.

Just my opinion.

Ditto TazLuv. There are lots of places like Women's Clubs where men can't be members.

But do women conduct business in those places and men are clearly at a disadvantage?

I don't have a problem with a private club choosing its members. In all honesty I'd rather they stay all male than to invite one "token" female to join in order to save face.

But as for the Masters...I love it. My favorite tournament of the year. Would someday love to attend, but I don't really see that ever happening. Oh well.

Hope Fred Couples does well this year, but I'm not exactly counting on that either...

DH likes watching the Masters; I enjoy playing.

I really don't care that women can't be members at Augusta. Women can play there and attend events there. Doesn't really bother me too much.

I was in a sorority where men weren't allowed. Do I think that's wrong? No.
