Just wondering if Corn Hole is a regional thing or if it's more wide-spread. DH first heard about it at Ohio University (southern Ohio) back in 2003. My northern Kentucky cousins (the Pounce ones) got into it back in 2004 and have two sets of boards and bean bags.

We play it at every reunion--old and young. When one of the girls graduated from HS and had the graduation party up here with their families, they brought the boards and set it up out in the parking lot! ;)

I googled it and found sites about it...from the Cincinnati area and Chicago.

Here's a website about it (from Cincinnati, of course!):

I just heard about Corn Hole yesterday. Seriously. Never heard of it until I moved to Columbus!

I was down at OU this past weekend and I saw several games going on in the front and backyards of the greek and other houses. One even had a nice, painted OU one!

My dad made something similar that we take to the beach to play. We use BIG washers that are painted, though.

Is that what you throw at the holes in the board?

I had never heard about it until I moved to Ohio...I definitely think it is a regional thing.

DH found a set at the bookstore in Athens--all white and you have to attach the OU decals! :D I'm going to do that in May sometime and then give it a good coat of some kind of protector. I'm sure they'll go with us to Northern Indiana when we have our other family reunion in June.

There are versions of that game all over. Here we have "Sackers" which is the same thing. So much fun!
