Nope, I need to call a find a Doctor today. If I go by the first day of my last period, I'm starting week 5 today and I'm thinking that I will never sleep through the night again :( I had to get up to pee twice last night. Is mild cramping still normal?

Happy Friday and welcome to Da1sy and Kimmer...it looks we're all starting week 5.

My first appointment is not until next Tuesday (April 11) and even then I am not going to be doing an ultrasound yet. I called a while ago - wonder why they made me wait so long? I will be starting week 6 this weekend.

I still have no symptoms (except no AF and sore BBs). I'm hoping this lasts. Does anyone know when most M/S starts by?

Early Appt
When I first called to make my appointment, they told me I had to wait until I was 8 weeks along and they wouldn't take any blood until then. But I started to get some bad pains by my right ovary last week so they are trying to make sure I'm not having an ectopic pregnancy. I had an u/s last weekend, but my betas were only at 225 and they have to be over 1000 for anything to show up on the u/s. I had my betas retested on Thursday and they were up to 1279 so they should be over 3,000 by tomorrow so I'm getting another u/s tomorrow morning. I'm very nervous, but I'm thinking happy thoughts!

Cramping
I'm getting mild AF type cramping too...I think its pretty common

Other things
I'm very tired, moody and my BBs kill! Does anyone know if the BB pain last the whole pregnancy, or just in the beginning??

Congrats to the new December Mommies from an August '06 mommy :) What an amazing journey you have ahead of you...it's nothing short of a miracle and I hope you enjoy every minute!

(Special congrats to marteneym b/c I remember you from the TTC w/ charting thread!! Yay!!)

ETA: Delaney21 ~ I thought I would answer your question about sore bbs...I think it's probably different for everyone, but for me the bb soreness started very early and lasted into the beginning of the 2nd trimester, although it wasn't quite as severe as time went on. And there were definitely some days when they didn't hurt AT ALL, which really freaked me out. But it's normal ;) The mild cramping is normal too--there's a lot going on in there!

Got another BFP on a digital today. So that sealed the deal for us. We called a bunch of people and told them. My parents, at this very moment, are on a flight back from Paris, France. I am not sure when I will be able to catch up with them.

My first Dr.'s appointment is April, 17 I guess it is just with a nurse, but that is ok with me.

Congrats to Daisy, Mandersald, Giry, and Chris'slady!

Babylove Thanks for the special congrats!

I have been having light cramping/pinching as well for the last few days. I did another test Saturday and then a digital. They were both positive. The nurse had me take a urine test today and it is as well. We starting telling everyone Friday though. We are so excited.
I had my first wave of nausea at lunch. I was eating something I normally love and all of a sudden it did not settle well. YUCK!

I scheduled my appts today. We have a Prenatal Class Wed 5/3 @330 and our 1st real appt Thu 5/11 @930. They are planning on doing an US to ck dating then( I have long cycles and they want to make sure). I am super thrilled about getting to see our little one.
Do any of you know at what week they can see a HB on the US?

I finally got to tell my parents the big news. I had been trying to get ahold of them yesterday. They were in Paris for 10 days and got back yesterday. I tried both their cell phones but I didn't know if they even brought them with them. Then they had a 3 - 4 hour drive home from the airport... So everyone else in the world knew except for my own mom and dad.

I called @ 6:30 this am and my mom answered in a sleepy voice. After I knew she was awake and that she knew it was me I said "So can I call you grandma now?" She was thrilled. She went on and on. I finally had to go get ready for work. I am sure she will call me again today.

I am feeling pretty good. BB's are sore. I have a little cramping everyonce in awhile.

Hi everyone. I have my first Dr.s app on 4/25 I am so excited

Working out:
I am feeling fine, I really want to keep up my workouts my trainer is so excited. He is like we can scale back and see how I feel but I shouldn't have to quite cold turkey. Summer is coming and I want to wear the cute little maternity tops once I pop.

Is anyone here planning to keep working out like pre-pregnancy?

04-10-2006, 06:33 PM
Working out I have had a nasty cough for the past month or so, so I haven't been working out. My work just put in a "gym" with 2 treadmills, an eliptical, a bike and a weight thingy. I walked for 25 mins during my lunch today. I would like to keep that up. I don't want to over do it though, so I will listen to my body and play it by ear.

Today has been a challenge. I told one of my co-workers and he was really supportive. However, I am definetly missing the hormones that the BCP suppiled. I never cry at work (I have cried twice in 6 years) and today I cried twice! If I don't get a grip, everyone is going to figure out that I'm pg before I tell them. Stupid hormones. Otherwise, I feel pretty good. My bbs are still not sore. My doctor appointment is a week from tomorrow so, maybe he can suggest something to deal with the hormones.

It's so exciting to see how many more people are joining this thread! I have never been good at shoutouts so, welcome to all of the new ladies!!! :D

Ultrasound: I had my first ultrasound on Saturday and I got to see my beautiful little baby! Its the size of a sesame seed, but its still beautiful :) The tech confirmed that I am right at 5 weeks 1 day right now, so my due date will officially be 12/10.

http://images.snapfish.com/346795257%7Ffp346%3Enu%3D3252%3E563%3E%3A55%3EWSNR CG%3D3233648659575nu0mrj

Working out: I never did it pre-pregnancy, but I'm going to try to at least walk a mile or so every couple of days.

Hormones: I have never once cried at work, but it finally happened to me too. Luckily no one saw me, but seriously I was crying for nothing. The other thing is I have been snapping at people really bad! DH understands, but I feel bad for everyone else.

wow delaney our first us!! how amazing! so glad to hear that everything looks good.

working out: this has been one of my major concerns so far. i was in the middle of training for a marathon when i found out i was pg. i'm still running, although not at full strength. i'm not sure about my mileage, and everyone always says to listen to your body. i didn't get clear answers from the docs either. marathon or not, i'm definately planning on staying as active as i can as long as i can. but not as intense.

hormones: i definately feel it too. i've cried and i find i get frustrated very easily. no fun at all. dh doesn't really like it either.

Congrats everyone.
I have my first ultrasound on 4/27 to determine how far along I am. I also have another HCG Beta test on Thursday. I have also had some light cramping on and off.
As for working out....I am just speed walking for about 45 minutes and then I am doing light weight training. Mostly upper body. My best friend is getting married at the end of May and I want at least for my arms to look fit esp. when the rest of me will not look to cute.

I just had my appointment at my doctor's office, but it was really just to talk about financial stuff and set up my next appointments. It still feels good to get that set up, but I can't believe I won't see a doctor until May 3!! I will be 10 1/2 weeks along by then! Geez! Oh well, at least they do an ultrasound then, and there should be a lot to see by then.

I was also happy to hear that this all is not going to cost NEARLY as much as I thought it would. Whew!

Exercise:I'm interested to hear what everyone else is doing about this. I have always been very athletic and active, but I actually had not been working out much since we moved and there is no good gym near our house. We bike on the weekends and take a lot of walks (in our really hilly neighborhood), but that is it. I find that since I found out I am PG I have been more motivated to work out. I know that exercise will help me stay in better shape while PG and get my pre-baby body back more quickly. Plus it is better for the baby if I am healthier! I am going to the Dominican Republic in 3 weeks, and I want to look good in my bikini there too! I just bought a Yoga for Pregnancy DVD today, and I can't wait to try it!

Oh, as far as symptoms, I am SO happy that I have not had any M/S at all. But my BBs are very sore. I can't really even lay on my stomach. I am almost an entire cup bigger already. I hope they don't continue to grow at this pace!

I'll probably start a journal but am so excited since we have been trying what seems like forever! I am trying to stay optimistic since last year's miscarriage happened at 10 weeks and was just "one of those things that happen" as they say. I thought for sure it hadn't happened again this month when I took a test on Sat and it was negative. I was at the store last night after work and felt like I got extremely hungry all of a sudden and then felt like I could have passed out. Told DH what happened and he say "well maybe your preggo" and I said nah. After AF, had shown no sign this am, I took another test this am (had a digital in the closet) and it immediately came up Pregnant!

I was hesitant to post but figured I'll need the support if anything bad should happen but I have a really good feeling about the next nine months and am going to stay positive!

Looking forward to the next 9 months with everyone :)

IS anyone else thinking this way i have been taking several pregnancy tests they all are BFP the fmaily knows we are duper excited but for some reason I'm thinking everything bad that could happen and not the good and I dotn want to stress out, then i ask well maybe the pregnancy tests lied, I jsut need to rest, I'm so emotional, the only symptoms I have is my breasts tehy are hurting i mean sore, and lower abdomen cramps im scared because i dont have enough symptoms, I just cant wait to see the doctor i think that will ease my mind.

thanks for listening girls.

rosa727
04-11-2006, 02:07 PM
Chris'slady: I think it is normal to feel really emotional right now and concerned. I was weird when I first found out. I just freaked out that it was real and how much my life is going to change. I was so freaked out that I would not be as close with my DH, which makes no sense. I think we can be a little irrational or just overly sensitive at this time.

I'm sure you will feel better once you see the doctor, but I would try to just relax. Everything is probably fine. Some people just don't experience as many symptoms as others. I'm sure you will be grateful for that as the 9 months continues and you know everything is fine :) I have almost no symptoms, but I have had 3 positive tests, so I guess we are in the same boat.

I hope you are able to relax a bit - you don't want to make yourself crazy!

fms
04-11-2006, 03:16 PM
Regarding, not feeling pg...The HPT makes us feel better b/c it's something physical that we can see. If you are not having any symptoms then it's one of those things that takes a little faith b/c your body isn't acting any different. (This is coming from a person who took 6 tests in all b/c I couldn't believe it. My homonal tantrums remind me that I am pg.)

Sleep. DH says that I'm more restless at night. I wake up at least once during the night to pee and I can no longer remember dreaming. The funny thing is that I'm sleeping more...probably 8 hours each night.

Exercise. I haven't been too good at exercising recently. I was blessed with a decent metabolism so, it will be strange for the scale to change. I have been more or less the same weight for the last 6 years.

Eating. I have noticed that my diet was not perfect pre-BFP. My oatmeal fortified with vitamins every morning was one thing I have done right for a long time. I have cut back to a quarter cup of coffee with creamer every morning. My afternoon Coke and mini piece of chocolate are no longer. (I MISS caffeine. My dentist will miss the Coke as well.) I was a wine drinker. Everytime we went out to eat, I had wine. Thinking about what I'm eating has been the biggest change for me so far.

hi girls-

welcome sunshine!!

chris'slady I can totally relate. its such an emotional rollercoaster. there are so many what ifs and unknowns. hang in there. you know, i totally wish that docs didn't want to wait till 8 w to see you. especially since the first few weeks are so CRAZY!! but, at least we have each other. :)

it sounds like all of us are going crazy with hormones!! ack! the worst part is, dh told mil the other day that i'm hormonal because i started crying for no reason. ummm, hello? why did you tell her that? jeez!

sleep while i'm totally exhausted at 8 pm, i have been having trouble sleeping. usually its in the morning a few hours before the alarm is supposed to go off. go figure.

i've been getting mild headaches in the afternoon. i don't know if its because i'm usually hungry or because its a million degrees in my office or what. they go away when i get home, but its sorta distracting.

I would like to join! Today I had an ultrasound and it went really well. I got to see my baby and its little heart beating. It was sooo cool! I am feeling queasy, sore bbs, frequent urination, and fatigue. The symptoms aren't always there but in the last day they seem to have gotten worse. I am seriously apprehensive about this pregnancy due to 3 prior losses. So I am trying to take things day by day. My DH is so funny. After seeing the heartbeat he is ready to tell his whole family. I want to wait till the end of first trimester for obvious reasons. Hopefully I can stick with that. I had to confide in a friend who knew I was going through fertility treatments. I don't mind because she doesn't know all my friends from home so they can't find out. The problem is I work in a cubicle where you can hear everything and my friend has been a little loud so one of my cube neighbors found out.

From my first pregnancy I know that this is quite normal. Iīve spent my whole last pregnancy on a very frequented pregnancy board and we all worried about anything and everything. First you worry about too few symptoms, then you worry about the symptoms you have. You worry that the baby is one(!) day behind in its growth, then you worry that itīs suddenly so big and youīll have a difficult delivery. First itīs the magical 12 weeks and you think youīll stop worrying once they are over. Then you wait for week 26 when the baby has its first chances of surviving should it be born prematurely. From week 34 on you start worrying about giving birth. And this doesnīt stop once the baby is there. Then youīll worry about SIDS and thousands of other things.

What I want to say is: Itīs normal to be a bit worried during all of this. But try not to worry too hard and enjoy it that you donīt have many symptoms by now - which is quite normal btw. Once the other symptoms are there, you wish they were gone. ;) And just try to enjoy the whole experience. I wish I hadnīt worried that much during my first pregnancy and I try be more relaxed during this one.

Does anyone know if the BB pain last the whole pregnancy, or just in the beginning??

I think this is different for everyone. During my first pregnancy it lasted some weeks, was gone and then came back slightly different. My boobs started leaking very early (at 20 weeks  ) and from then on I had to wear a bra all the time because otherwise my tops got wet. And from that on my boobs got sore whenever I didnīt wear a bra and they touched a top.

bellabonga, you mean that there are actually some women who don't worry all the time...throughout their entire pregnancy? :) My husband told his sister (older with three kids) that we were pregnant and when she spoke to me that night (we had only known I was pregnant for about an hour at that point) she asked me if I was feeling okay. When I responded that I wasn't feeling any symptoms yet, she responded with a gasp of horror. Apparently she believes that if a woman is not having morning sickness than she is going to miscarry. I personally think that is exactly what a NEWLY pregnant woman wants to hear, right? Anyway, I have had morning sickness every day starting about two or three days after that conversation...so I guess I am okay now according to her. However, everytime I don't feel sick (which I usually do from lunchtime on) I start to panic that something is wrong. I am not so patiently waiting for my first u/s appt. so that some confirmation can be made that I am truly pregnant...even though I took 8 HPT's and had a blood test to confirm. :)

Does anyone (or did anyone that has been PG before) have to wait over 10 weeks to see a doctor? They didn't even see me to do a blood test. So all I will have until then is the HPT to go on. I don't have any symptoms (at 7 weeks), so although I feel lucky, I am a bit concerned about having no confirmation. I am considering asking them to move it up. It seems that everyone else is seeing their doctors much earlier.

It's so funny hearing that most of us to be in the same boat. We stress over a lack of symptoms and then analyze the ones we do. I spent a good amount of time yesterday looking up miscarriage rates. My DH thinks I'm insane and is sort of annoyed at me b/c I'm looking at the glass half full. It's not that the glass is half full but rather that the glass can be smashed by a an oncoming bull in the provebial china shop at anytime. Guys seem to have it so much easier as they aren't the ones who are responsible for keeping the glass from getting chipped or broken. I have so much else going on in my life however, that I guess that my worrying will be limited by time.

My doctor appointment is on Tuesday. I have had nothing other than the HPT to confirm that yes, I'm pg. The office was going to have me wait longer but, the doctor had an opening and I was having some pretty strong cramping at the time I made the appointment. (I can't seem to figure out changing the color of text...I swear my IQ has dropped since I became pg.)

***delurking***

rosa727, personally, I'd ask for a beta. That way you know for sure it's viable. The peace of mind is worth it. Some doctor's offices are weird about not wanting you to get the test (my old OB was; one of the many reasons I won't be going back to her), but IMO it's something everyone should do.

Rosa727, I don't have my appt. until the 8th week and my doctor was not going to confirm I was pg either, however, I insisted she send me to the lab for a blood test to confirm my 8 HPT's. Yes, I took 8 and I was still not convinced until I had the blood test done. There are two tests...one that says "Yes or No" and one that will help pinpoint the date. I had the first and that was all I needed. I would call your doctor and ask for the test...it WILL make you feel better.

FMS: My older sister who has had two children said and I quote "You will seriously become stupid once you are pregnant and it only gets worse as soon as you come home from the hospital." Guess that gives us something to look forward to. :)

Thanks thedoorchick and ieducate!

Maybe I will ask for a test sooner. I would actually be fine if they were seeing me at 8 weeks, as that seems pretty standard. But almost 11 weeks seems a bit long! I know it is just three weeks difference, but it is a lot when you are waiting on your FIRST appointment. I have not even gotten to ask any questions or anything.

Rosa727: Wow, 11 weeks...8 is too long for me. I totally know what you mean by asking questions, etc. It is just lucky for me that my older sister just gave birth three weeks ago so I am asking her lots of my questions. Also, I am reading "The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy" which not only answers most of my questions, but it is quite funny too. I highly suggest it. :) I have also started a journal of questions to ask the doctor in a few weeks when I see her. Two and half weeks from now can't come sooner for me. :o

Sunshine, ag05, Bella, and ieducate Welcome and Congrats!

Delaney Glad to hear that the US went well. yay for our first baby pics.

Emotional- The emotions hit last night while watching tv. Dh was giving me a bad time since I was crying(alot) over everything ob tv last night. I am still emotional today. I feel like I could cry at any moment. UGH!

BBS- Mine are killing me and I am about falling out of my bra. I agree w/ rosa. It better not keep up at this rate. i am only 4w4d. I am going bra shopping tomorrow though.

Sleep- I am incredibly tired about 7 but if I take nap I can't fall back to sleep that night. Right now I feel like I could sleep for a week.

Excercise- I wasnt excercising regularly before pg but as others have said I am more motivated not to stay healthier and to get back to pre pg size sooner. I have an elliptical I will start using again and get Dh to go with me on walks in the evenings. Is anyone still doing crunches?

Eating- I have actually been eating healtheri food since pg just because that is what tastes good. Anything to flavorful or sweet is not even appealing.

Appt- My appt is at 9 1/2weeks. And they just take the HPT as good enough. They wont do a blood test at all. Maybe at the appt.
Prenatal Class 5/3 , 1st Prenatal appt 5/11 w/ US

I am off Friday and Monday. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Rosa - I know from last summer that my Dr typically won't see you for your 1st appt until you are 8-10 weeks. However, I did go in before that b/c I was having some issues. Now, this time, they did want me in for a beta test (did one Tues and one today so should have results tomorrow). I am not sure if it was due to my previous m/c or b/c I was on Clomid this cycle. I have not actually made my 1st appt yet but will ask about that when I get my test results tomorrow.

Eating - I am so hungry I feel like could eat non-stop!

Sleeping - Hopefully this won't continue but I woke up at 4:30 thsi am and could not fall back asleep. I was extremely tired yesterday afternoon at work but it dod go away after I took a walk.

Hi. I'm a June 2005 mommy coming by to say congratulations to all of you. It's a wonderful journey that you are just beginning. If you should happen to be struck by the morning sickness curse, just remember that it will pass (at some point *hopefully*). You may not think that while you are sick 24/7 for weeks on end though. There was a time that I didn't think it was all worth it but truly is in the end when you have that little baby in your arms. You find it was all (the constant sickness, the bedrest, the swollen ankles, the aches, the discomforts, and the pain) worth it.

To answer a question brought up earlier, some doctors won't see you until you are between 10 and 12 wks. If you should happen to have a miscarriage there really isn't anything they can do to prevent it and so they simply don't take the time to see you until you are at/near the time that the miscarriage chances decrease. If you should happen to have any problem prior to that, do call and they should work you in. If not and the problem is severe enough (constant vomitting, bleeding, cramping, etc.) then head to the ER.

I was seen at 8 wks because I had some bleeding and I was sick beyond belief for weeks (my m/s started very early in my pregnancy and continued for well over half and then made a return visit later). I didn't ask what the standard procedure was in my office (we had waited until we were moved - we found out a few weeks before we moved - to make an appt with the OB. I didn't see any reason in making an appt, going to see one and then having to do it all over again after we moved. I was seen by my PCP because of the m/s though.)

Congratulations again!

Usafwife, thanks for sharing your kind words. Your daughter Sarah is beautiful and adorable. You must be relieved to be done with the whole pregnancy thing. :) I love the idea of being pregnant, but every day I wake up scared to death that something will go wrong between now and December 12th. I almost wish I were at or around 8 months so that perhaps I could breathe a little bit. I am nauseous all the time and I am so tired that I can't figure out how I am going to go back to work on Monday...currently I am off for spring break, as I am a teacher. The whole being pregnant thing is scary to me, but so exciting too. I wish I were just further along. Perhaps I will feel a bit better once I have had my first appt. on May 1st.

Can I ask a question...is anyone else feeling the need to get a new bra already? I am only a little over 5 weeks pregnant and my bbs feel so heavy that I am certain that if I don't get a new bra, my chest will explode through the one I am wearing. :( It just seems so early to have to do that. Does anyone else feel this way or am I losing my mind? Okay, forget that question because I AM losing my mind, but am I losing my mind on this issue in particular? :) I am certain that the people at work and/or anyone with an observant bone in their body will be able to tell that something is going on with me when A: I have 70% or more less energy than before and B: I look like I had a bb job. And let's just say that I was no small chicken in that area to begin with. :)

I almost bought a new bra last night because I feel the same way! I was only a 34B/C to start with, but man they are getting big.

When I told the girls at work that I was pregnant, one of them said - we knew it, we've been watching your boobs grow for the past 2 weeks ;)

I need a new bra too... My current one was a little tight to begin with. I must have been having a skinny day when I bought it. Right now I am almost spilling out of it. The crappy thing is I have always been a little bigger one one side and I was hoping they would even out in pregnancy, but they seem to be growing about the same...

I will probably go and buy a new one next week. I normally don't mind spending money on bras, but I think I might stick with comfy inexpensive ones. I currently wear a 34D. I am actually afraid to see how much they are going to grow.
Has anyone's clothes/pants started to feel uncomfortable?

I have been waiting for my boobs to grow as well. But I look like I have a highway map painted on my chest. I can see all of the green veins in my chest and on my shoulders.

I have a super nose right now as well. I was having lunch with my auntie and I turned around looking and she asked what was wrong. I told her I smell a fish bowl somewhere in here. Of course she looks at me strange. And above the next table was a tiny fish bowl with one little beta fish swimming in clean, clear water. My nose is very powerful :)

good morning ladies-
welcome almostthere!

my boobs are doing ok, although i did realize that i can't fit into the bras that used to be small to begin with anymore. i did order another bra the other day since now i only have like 2 that fit properly.

ok, so tell me about medications...i woke up yesterday and today with a sore throat and stuffy nose. i'm pretty sure its allergies, but i'm just wondering what kinds of meds i could take. and also what about ibuprofen, tylenol, aspirin, etc? i know i read this somewhere but can't find where. thanks!

dh was so cute the other day when we were reading about the baby's development during week 5. he said, "wow, there's a lot going on in there. that's kinda scary." he said it was one of the only times he's felt overwhelmed so far. me, on the other had, feel overwhelmed almost every day!!

Congratulations and sorry for your terrible loss in December. I can't even imagine how hard that must have been for you. I wake up every morning and check to see if my bbs still hurt, as a sign that I am still pregnant. I have no real reason to worry, as this is my first pregnancy, but I am a worrier by nature. :( Anyway, welcome aboard. As for bras...well, I am thinking I might go out and buy a new one today, but I don't want to spend too much money since this will probably be one of many to come over the next few months. The worst thing about it is that putting any bra on them hurts like there's no tomorrow. The slightest brush up against me sends me screaming bloody murder. :( I can't sleep on my stomach anymore because of them and even sleeping on my sides sometimes hurts them too. :( Oh well, all for a great reason and hopefully the pain will dissappear in a few more weeks.

ieducate ~ You are welcome. I'm extremely greatful that everything turned out just fine with my pregnancy. It wasn't easy (besides the severe morning sickness I also had to deal with being put on modified bed rest because of the swelling I started having just about the time my m/s was leaving. Then when I was 8 months pregnant we had to deal with the shocking and devastating news of my FIL's sudden death.) but I'm still looking forward to the next pregnancy. Before I got so sick I worried about miscarring, then I got so sick that I couldn't hardly function so just getting through the day was what I focused on. Then when the bleeding started I was worried sick. After seeing that everything was fine on the u/s I felt better.

I wish I could say that at 8 months you start to breathe a little bit. Then you start (if you haven't already) about what could happen. Maybe not everyone thinks about that but I did. My BIL and SIL lost their first baby (he was stillborn) and I was so worried that something would happen. (Our family tends to have things happen in 3s, especially deaths, so after my FIL's death I was scared that something else bad would happen.) I was always checking for movement and heartbeat it seemed. I just wasn't sure how I would be able to handle things if something were to happen. Thankfully that never happened. You also start to wonder about the upcoming birth. When will it happen, where will I be, how long will it last, how bad is it going to hurt, is it going to be difficult/easy, and a whole host of other things.

almostthere ~ Congratulations. Sorry about the miscarriage (I've had one as well). I know that the next time I'm pregnant that I'm going to be walking on eggshells for the first trimester. When it happens it's just such a hard loss.

mandersald ~ You're best bet as far as meds go is to call your OB (or primary doctor, tell them you're pregnant, how far along, and what is wrong) and ask. So many doctors have different things that they say is okay to take so it's better to ask your doctor their take on it (and then follow what they say). I was only allowed to take regular strength Tylenol without having to call my OB first (other than my m/s meds). Ibuprofen and aspirin are both off limits though so avoid them from now on.

I am beginning to wonder how anyone works during the first trimester. I am up every night, in the middle of the night, completely nauseous. I have not actually thrown up yet (thank goodness), but I am sick to my stomach and often have to stay up for about an hour and eat some crackers to calm my stomach down. Tonight is especially early (it's only about 1am), but perhaps that is because I went to bed by 10pm. I have been on spring break for the last week because I am a teacher and seriously I have no idea how I am going to go back to work on Monday if I am waking up at all hours of the night feeling ill. I guess this is preparation for when the kid actually arrives. :) Anyone have any advice on what I might do before I go to sleep in order to stop myself from getting up in the middle of the night feeling ill? I don't want to find myself falling asleep in front of my students come Monday. :(

Thank you for all the warm welcomes.

The best thing I found for morning sickness was to keep something by the side of my bed and try that first, however if I continued to feel sick I had to get up.

I spent my first pregnancy throwing up and night mostly - so I was very tired at work, but i swear it gets better. I did eventually ask for some drugs because I could not keep anything down for about 3 days.

I will say wintergreen lifesavors work wonders as does carbs and crackers to settle yourself.

Bellabonga, Gingerale and grape juice seem to be the best things for me when I get nauseous. I try to just drink something first and then eat crackers if still needed. I just hate to eat so late at night, and that seems to be when my nausea is the worst. Go figure.

pacificbliss: Welcome! I will cross my fingers for you this time around. I can't believe how many people on this site have had miscarriages. I can't imagine how horrible that must have been. Ladies, last night I woke up with terrible pains in my lower abdomen. It feels like I might be constipated, but it is downright excrutiating pain. How do you know if the pain is a signal that something is wrong or simply something I ate? I am so paranoid that I am not sure what to do. Welcome almostthere and pacificbliss!

I definitely hear you all on the BB growth thing! I just measured my chest for a new bra and I am already at a 32C - a whole size bigger than my normal 32B. I am continuing to wear my old bras and just popping out of them, but I will definitely need a new bra soon. I have to say though, I am excited to have them for my upcoming beach vacation ;)

I also feel like some things are a little tight in the waist. My mom sent me a box of maternity and in-between stuff this weekend, so luckily I will have that when I need it.

As far as sleep, I can't say I have any problem with that! I fall asleep at about 10PM and sleep like a log until the morning. I seriously feel like I have been drugged. But I have not had any nausea, so I guess that is why. However, I do feel very fatigued during the day. I can't wait until that passes!

hi ladies-
man...talk about bloating! I feel huge because of bloating. its no fun at all. and, rosa it feels like my boobs have gotten bigger too. I have to pay much closer attention to what shirts I wear because of cleavage or popping. boo.

so, has anyone thought about nurseries? I seem to think about it all the time, and really I have no clue what to do. We have a 3 bedroom house which currently is set up so that we have an office, a guest room, and a master. Do we turn the guest room into the baby's room? Does the baby need his/her own room? what are we going to do with all the furniture? Where will guests sleep? (we do have a futon in the office...) ack! It all seems so overwhelming and yet I realize that I don't need to be thinking about all this yet. hmmm...

Pacificbliss- Sounds like we're in the same boat with the m/c. I told my mom last night but am holding off telling work, extended family, etc. Welcome!

I told my mom last night who was super excited. We had her over for Easter dinner. I figured even if something does happen, she can handle it. I also figured she'd know very soon as we'll be at a wedding in two weekends and I won't be drinking and that would be very unlike me :) Everyone else that will be there will pretty much believe the designated driver story.

I got the results of my beta test on Friday and the #s had more than doubled from Tues to Thurs so everything looks good so far.

My next appt is 4/25 and I'll be getting an ultrasound then and can hopefully breather just a little easier after that!

My BBs are just a tad bigger but are definitely more sensitive. I am not at the point to need a new bra yet. They aren't too big so am very interested to see how big they get!!

Hey girls. Hope everyone had a great Easter.

I thought I'd share a little in case this happens to anyone else...
After DTD last night, I had a little pink spotting. Not enough to be seen on a pad but rather, just when I wiped. I freaked out (I was a psychopath for a good 30 minutes after seeing the blood.). Today, the spotting is sparse and brown and again, can only be seen when I wipe. My first doctor appointment is tomorrow and I contacted their office this morning. The nurse was not in the least bit concerned (I have no cramps). We aren't allowed to BD for the next two weeks to be safe. According to her, this is a somewhat normal after DTD b/c of increased bloodflow in that area. I will update tomorrow.

We told our parents and siblings this past weekend so, I'm praying that everything is really ok.

Our home has three bedrooms. The third bedroom is currently swimming in crap that needs to be sold on ebay or given away. I am not looking forward to cleaning it out. My parents have offered to buy our nursery furniture so, we just need get the room cleaned out.

I'm disappointed in my bb size as of right now. They don't seem to be growing much. Soreness just set in at the end of last week so, maybe they will start in the near future.

Hey Girls
I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter I'm sad to go back to work. I have been having cramps and some nausea like headaches and dizziness but the weirdest thing is my breasts and stomach itch, anyone else have that or is just me noticing? OMG my breasts have gotten so much bigger I'm falling out of my perfect bra.

Sleeping- well it still good although I toss and turn and wake up once or twice which never used to happen. I have one week of school left and I have been putting it off I cant get but an hour or two in a night. But I have to do it this week.

Eating- I have been eating pretty healthy although, I love to snack now.
Exercise- What’s that? Have not been in the mood.

Nursery- I'm also like at the point were I want to start buying stuff, I can't wait. We have been looking for a house we are renting one now I’m just so picky. I guess I will know when it is the one.

I can’t wait till May 1st for my OB appointment then May 16 for U/S. it seems so far away.

sunshine0928 I told my Mom yesterday. After the m/c she promised not to ask if I was pg yet if I promised to tell her as soon as I knew I was.

DH and I have been training to run a 10K. I am not a runner and the training has been tough so that's obviously out. DH and I were on our way into the gym today when we ran into the friend who organized the trams for the run. I told her just because the run is June 10th and she'll need to shuffle the teams. We both stressed that we don't want the news to get out.
I have a business trip later this week. I work from home but will be seeing everyone in my small company at a social event on Friday night. I have already started to set-up the not drinking by telling two of the people I was ill over the weekend and today. It's pretty elaborate but my not drinking will definitely be noticed :p While I am there I will see two close friends that I will have to tell because they won't buy any excuse.

Nursery: We recently moved into a house with 4 bedrooms, so we have a master, a guest room, an office, and a totally empty room. We were just saving it for a baby! My in-laws were visiting for Easter and really wanted to buy our crib as a gift. We had already fallen in love with one from Bassett Baby, so we bought it! It was in stock so we brought it home and DH and his dad set it up. It looks beautiful in there, and it makes the PG seem so much more real. My mom is getting us the matching changing table/dresser this week. I know it's early, but the whole line happens to be on sale right now. I am so excited!

BBs: I finally broke down and bought a new bra. I read good things about this bra, so I bought it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9310086631&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

rosa747: I had shortness of breath last week, but this week it seems to be gone. I'm sure it could pop back up at any time though.

Nursery: I would love to start the nursery, but I really want to wait to find out the sex of the baby. Only 14 weeks left!

do you ladies have low abdominal cramps?

Delaney21
04-17-2006, 02:13 PM
Chris'slady: Are you talking the cramps that feel like AF cramps, or the kind where you are trying to stand up and you get a horrible cramp and it takes your breath away? Either way, yes I've had both. I was worried about the latter ones, but my preggy friends told me that its just the ligaments stretching.

yes and i have dizziness do you guys have that i was reading online and it was talking about ectopic pregnancies and i got scared.

Delaney21
04-17-2006, 02:56 PM
I had an ectopic scare - I had pain around my right ovary, which is why they did so many ultrasounds so early. Mine ended up being fine, but you should call your doctor if you are concerned. I do have dizziness right now, but I think that's part of the m/s

Well, yesterday was one tough day. It was my first day back at work in over a week and it was a tough one. I had terrible pains in my lower abdomen the night before going into the morning and it basically prevented me from bending in any direction or walking at a decent pace. This can be most difficult when you are a teacher and need to be on your feet and moving constantly. :( I was actually called from my doctor to come in for a blood test so I went in to see her in the afternoon. She was not alarmed by my pain, as it is directly in the front of my stomach (low down) and not in one of the ovaries. She did a beta test to find out what my numbers are so that they can decide if my u/s should be sooner than May 1st. Of course, May 1st is only two weeks from now, but I won't argue about having it earlier. Meanwhile, the pain in my abdomen is still here, but seems a little less than yesterday. My bbs are absolutely killing me and my nausea comes and goes. My ob is keeping careful watch on me because it was difficult for me to get pregnant and I am no young chicken. Anyway, I am back to work for another day and hopefully a slightly better one. I really feel like I wish I had the next month off to get through the first trimester and then I can go back to work. Unfortunately it will work the exact opposite...by the time I am feeling better (I hope) school will be out for the summer and I will be on break. Go figure. I wish I could tell my students that I was pg so that perhaps they would demand less, but they are only 7/8 years old and probably wouldn't know the difference. Anyway, sorry I didn't chat at all yesterday, I went to the doctor and then came home and went to sleep. I will chat later today. Thanks for all your concerns and advice.

I havenīt been feeling too well for the past two days. Iīve had horrible cramps two nights ago but Iīm pretty sure that they were gas-related. Iīve had had that during my first pregnancy too but that doesnīt make it any better. I nearly fainted and was covered in sweat all over because the pain was so intense.
Yesterday suddenly the abdominal cramping and the sore bbs were gone. Instead I had some mild pang at my left ovary and started worrying that it could be an ectopic pregnancy. But fortunately it wasnīt hurting much and after what I read, it should really hurt badly.
Today this is gone too but now I am ill. My DD has had conjunctivitis for a week now and I always felt like I would get it too. Instead I got a sore throat, swollen tonsils that are killing me, shivering and fever. :( I was lucky that DH managed to stay home today to take care of DD because I truly feel horrible. Please cross your fingers that everythingīs back to normal by tomorrow! I thought about seeing my doctor but today is the first day after Easter that he is back in the office. So I guess it would have taken me all day if I had gone there. Too bad that my first appointment is only at April 25th. Sorry for all this whining. :o

Can't do that when I can't even talk. I have been drinking lemon and honey, but it is not working. Welcome almostthere, pacificbliss, tinkerbelljenny, and Allison! :)

ieducate I am sorry you are having such a rough time. I think I would try to get the early US also just to ease your mind.

Delaney When I told the girls at work that I was pregnant, one of them said - we knew it, we've been watching your boobs grow for the past 2 weeks LOL! This totally cracks me up. I feel as uf everyone can tell my bbs are growing. I guess they can.

Kimmer I am also very sensitive to smells. If anything makes me nauseous it is because of a strong smell.

The exhaustion hit me this weekend. I feel like I could sleep all day. Nausea has been minimal. Thank goodness.
My bbs are huge! They are popping out of my bras. I was going to try to wait a few more weeks to buy new bras but I think I may need to sooner than that.
My IL's gave us money to buy a crib this weekend. I am going to wait a bit longer to decide though. Possibly til after gender US. We will see if I can hold out that long. I am so ready to do the nursery now!
I went maternity clothes shopping this weekend. I got some transition summer & work clothes. And my mom gave me $100 to Motherhood. I will hold on to that to get some sweater and stuff later.

Other than Babycenter do any of you have a site that you like that tells what is happening with the baby and possible pics? Dh keeps asking what it looks like now.

marteneym: www.babyzone.com is a good site. They have tons of info and will send you weekly updates.

I definitely feel your pain on the fatigue! I have luckily had no other symptoms, except for sore/huge BBs, but the fatigue is terrible! I have heard it usually goes away within a few weeks.

I found a doctor today, I looked in the yellow pages, how sad is that? I called up one of the offices and I will meet all the doctors on the first day I go which is good because I guess if I don't like one I can always go to another one. However, there are only 3 in the office so not much to choose from. And I probably won't get to choose because I will probably need another c/s.
Any ways, I got my first appointment set, it is May 25, it seems so far away! They also gave me a new EDD date of Dec 25, can you believe it?

Welcome Allison and Good Morning to everyone else. :) I am feeling tons better today. I finally woke up and was able to get out of bed without feeling in terrible pain in my stomach. I went to the doctor on Monday and she did a blood test to see what my numbers are. She reported that I am at 880 which is good for 6 weeks. She is probably going to do the u/s this coming Monday, instead of May 1st, but I will find out for sure today. Either way I am just so happy to be feeling less pain in my stomach today than I have for the past two days. My bbs still hurt like there's no tomorrow and I am nauseous on and off throughout the day, but otherwise things are good. I definitely do not have any trouble sleeping...ever. I have to go to work now, unfortunately, but I will chat later today. Everyone have a great day.

Chri'sslady and Rosa- Thanks for the sites. They were exactly what I was looking for.

ieducate- Glad to hear you are feeling better.

I went to bed last night with a migraine. It was my first since being pg. Of course all I can take is tylenol which does nothing. I used an ice pack and went to bed early. Luckily I was able to sleep it off.
I have woken up every morning this week with a scratchy throat. I keep thinking I am getting a cold but i havent yet. I is just so uncomfortable. Luckily it is gone within in hour or so.
I was a wreck this morning crying for basically no reason. Feeling a bit better now but I am so tired. I am going to take a nap on lunch.

Ha, I am glad that I am not the only one that used the yellow pages! :D

marteneym Hope you were able to take that nap! Maybe it will help.

ieducate Glad to hear that you are feeling better.

As for myself, I have no energy at all! I haven't even dressed my 2 year yet and it is 2:30PM. I just can't move. I wanted to walk around the block but I can't get myself out the door. I hope this isn't how it is going to be the whole pregnancy.

Is there anyone out there not having any symptoms? Besides missing AF and the + test I have nothing else to go on. Maybe it's just too soon and I should count my blessings huh? Babycenter has me at 4 weeks and babyzone says I am at 5. Either way that's pretty early.

rosa727
04-19-2006, 02:53 PM
pacificbliss: I would not worry. I still barely have any symptoms at 8 weeks, and I don't think I had any at 4-5 weeks. I just think everyone is different, and that you are just lucky :) The first symptom I remember was general tiredness.

Kimmer
04-19-2006, 03:12 PM
pacificbliss: Don't worry I have no major symptoms I can really report I feel fine except I am going to bed really early lately oh and after lunch I would love a nap. But haa haa I would use my lunch to sleep in my car prior to being prego. :)

ieducate
04-19-2006, 03:13 PM
Pacificbliss, I agree with Rosa....it is probably too early to have symptoms, and you may not get all of them. I really didn't start feeling nauseous until the end of my 4th week and now that I am in my 6th week I am only sometimes nauseous. I am mostly very tired and my bbs are killing me. I get different dates from different sources too...lilypie has me at 6w2d, but fertilityfriend has me at 6w1d. Either way I am 6 weeks. :)
I have my u/s appt. still scheduled for May 1st. They were going to have me come in tomorrow and possibly do an u/s based on whatever my numbers are from today, but I sort of pushed them in to letting me wait. Normally I wouldn't want to wait, I would want the u/s as soon as possible, but they were still going to have me come in on May 1st regardless of tomorrow and I can't afford to take off that much time from work. The nurse said to me today, Can't you just come in tomorrow at 1:45 on your lunch break? The thing that gets me is that she doesn't seem to understand that I am a teacher and we don't get a lunch break. There is no such thing as a lunch break or for that matter, any good time to come in and see the doctor unless it is after the kids are gone at the end of the day. AGH. I love being pregnant and I am so excited I can't wait to tell people, but all these appts. and constant blood tests are driving me bananas. I had to go and get a repeat beta hcg test to see if my numbers have increased and/or doubled from Monday. The whole process makes me so nervous and all I want to do is see my baby once and for all. I want to see the heart beating and breathe a small sigh of relief. Anyway, sorry for all the venting today, I am just so overwhelmed. I don't know how people have a life and be pregnant at the same time. I am finding it nearly impossible. :(

marteneym: I hope you are feeling better and were able to get some sleep...that usually seems to help solve everything for me...when in doubt, go to sleep. :)

da1sy: that does not seem high to me, as there is a huge range for each week, but there is no real way to tell. They don't really look at a single number, rather they look at a pattern over a period of time. For example, the first time I had the test I was at 880 (at 6 weeks) and then yesterday I went to get another blood test. The doctor's hope is that I will have doubled that number from two days ago. They say you should double every 48-72 hours. 8000 could me that you have multiples, but it could just mean that you started high. There is a huge range to which you can be at for each week of pregnancy. This site lays out for you some information. http://www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html I would not freak out about it until you see your doctor. When is your first u/s appt.?

Ladies, My dh and I had a huge fight last night and it got quite heated. Now I am all freaked out and certain that I will lose my baby because I allowed my blood pressure to rise to a high level. I was really upset and we were yelling and screaming at each other for a good amount of time. I am not sure if it is the hormones in me that caused me to be so upset or if I am just stressed out from work, but now I am nervous. Do you think that one time raising of the blood pressure will cause a miscarriage? I am probably being paranoid, but I just thought I would ask. I keep checking for blood every time I go to the bathroom and there isn't any. I am guessing that is a good sign. Right? So stressed out lately and it seems that my dh just doesn't understand. He thinks being pregnant is a piece of cake. It may be the most exciting thing that ever happened to me, but it is no piece of cake.

sunshine0928

ieducate - I wouldn't stress about the fight. Plenty of women I am sure get in these fights all the time and are fine. I would just remember how stressed you were about feeling that the fight was bad for the baby and just try no to get so "heated" in the future. Although, I know with hormones raging and just men, in general ;) sometimes that is hard. No need to worry...take care of yourself and have a great day!

My HCG levels are really high too. At 4.5 weeks they were at 3000 - and mine were doubling every 1.57 days. I didn't see any multiples on the ultrasound, but who knows.

Feeling MUCH better today. Not nearly as tired and no sore throat. I did fall asleep about 930 last night but was ready to get up at 6. We took a nice walk last night. Only about 20min though since I dont want to push it to much to fast. And the dogs were panting. It felt so good to get out. It was 73 here yesterday and we went about 7ish. So sorry for your loss ieducate.

I have been having some spotting the last few days. When I met with the nurse on Monday she said it was nothing to be worried about, but to call if it got any worse. Well today it was a little worse, so they drew a beta and if I am over 1500 they will give me an ultrasound tomorrow probably. DH is convinced it is nothing and I just don't know. purplesunshine7 and the other new Dec mommys, welcome!

------------------------------------------------

I am still sick and feel horrible. Two days ago I went to a doctor because of my sore throat and the fever. It turned out that I have a pharyngitis (an inflammation of the throat) combined with an angina in the sides of the neck. My throat is aching so much I can hardly swallow or speak. I have even aching ears and teeth because the pain spreads. Besides that Iīm totally flabby from the fever and my nose is stuffed and I have to cough until I nearly throw up. Maybe this would be bearable if I were allowed to take medicine but because of the pregnancy, I am not. So I can only suck on ice cubes made from pineapple juice and thatīs it.

Since the illness broke out on Monday evening all my pregnancy symptoms have gone. I have the feeling that maybe little one didnīt survive my fever or the inflammation in my body. So I halfway expect the obgyn to tell me on Tuesday that the pregnancy is over. Maybe that would be better since I donīt know how much harm this illness couldīve caused. What a bad start! If only it was already Tuesday and I would know for sure...

Eating- Has anyone else noticed a change in there appetite? Stuff i used to love makes me queasy and sick,

Symptoms-Well I'm still not having and big symptoms other than when i get up fast cramps, and just cramps from ligaments attatching, and i itch, and tired and dizziness, but I'm good other than that.

I always have to take a nap before I go to work at night because I don't get off till midnight and I would never make it through the night without a nap. I think it is still ok to sleep on belly for now I sleep on my left side but unfortunatly I end up on my back (not good). but I figure that doesn't hurt anthing right not because baby isn't big enough to lay on nerve ending, he is only 13.6mm. I did read somwhere they said it was ok to sleep on belly and be lucky you can still do so. I thought that was a bit funny. Eating I love to eat but I have been gaining too much weight and I have to loose weight I know I shouldn't complain but if I had morming sickness then maybe I could loose the weight . I see doc to monday she is not going to be happy.

I bought two new bras like 2 weeks ago and they are staring to get tight.I am breaking out a little and my face is dry and my hair oily I have to wash it everyday or it looks dirty.I do get nauses every now and then. Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of that nauses feeling without eating. I think that is my wieght issue I eat so I don't feel nauses.bb feel big and full and don't really hurt anymore. Also I went to get ultra sound because of cramps and they told me lower abdomen cramps normal and to only worry if really bad cramps and bleeding but that the baby is behind the pelvic bone right where you hair line is down there.I didn't know that I thought baby was between hair line and belly button. so I feel a lot better knowing that. I too have m/c last year and am very cautious about this one. I have already had 4 ultrasounds and at least 6 doc apptments.

bellabonga I hope you feel well soon sending you some extra sticky vibes also.

They just called me back and by beta was 816. I have to go for another draw tomorrow to see if it is going up or down. The nurse said I will know the results before I leave the hospital tomorrow. She is going to have the lab call the on-call midwife with the results and she will talk to me before I leave. So that is good.

I would have liked for them to be a little higher since I will be 6 weeks tomorrow, but as long as they go up I will be happy.

Bella Hope you feel better soon and that your little one is ok.

Purple Welcome and Congrats! I got my worst wave of nausea last night. Sour candies seem to help. Like the preggy pops or hard candies, or jolly ranchers did the trick for me.

Chris'sLady I have not so much had food make me sick yet, but things just not tasting or sounding good. I am eating very bland foods right now.

giry Hope your betas are up tomorrow.

Last night we left straight from work to meet some friends at Red Robin. I got VERY sick on the way over. I had my emptied out lunch box in my lap just in case. I did everything in my power not to throw up. My head was hanging out the window. I am sure my wind blown hair looked great by the time we got there. That and a green apple jolly rancher got me through. I really didnt want to be sick IN the car. I was ok by the time dinner came and enjoyed my bacon cheeseburger. We went to Cold Stone after. I had a little. It tasted pretty good. Milk products seem to be upsetting my stomach lately though. Not fair. I love ice cream.
I was incredibly naseous again this morning at work. Luckily the toilets were just clean and I just had dry heaves. But still no fun. I was really hoping to skip this part. Hoping it doesnt get any worse. Doing better now.

Hi Ladies,

ieducate - I'm so sorry. Thinking of you here.

Bella - I hope you feel better soon.

The midwife office called me today to say that they had someone available for my due date so that's good news. I don't meet them until 10 weeks though so I have a long way to go.

As far as symptoms, my bbs are the only major one. They's been huge and sore pretty much for 3 weeks now. I can't lie on my stomach because my bbs feel like they're gonna burst. It's perma-sports bras for me right now.

I've had tiny nausea/disgusted by food moments but nothing severe. Here's hoping it stays that way.

I hope everyone is doing well.

hey girls.

I think I'm getting a little OC in reading about being pg. I found a funny blog earlier that talked about obsessing over symptoms. When we are hoping that we are pg we desperately want them, when we finally did get them they make us miserable...and then we freak out when they dare to subside.

All in all, I'm feeling good. My eating has not slowed down at all. I do tend to get gas cramps at bedtime and I'm still waking up to pee every night. No one has ever mistaken me for a C cup so, my bb soreness is probably more manageable due to the smaller bbs. I would kill for a nap though...

I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Ok beta today was 1197, so it is going up. Midwife wants me to have an ultrasound Monday. She said she would like it to be higher, but that it might not be a problem. The ultrasound should tell us more. Please keep me and my little bean in your prayers.

hi everyone,

girly 76 I will say a prayer for you tonight. How many days between were you beta readings?

AG05: congrats on heartbeat. do you know how many mm your baby is? I saw mine twice but they didn't tell me the numbers I guess I'll find out on monday at doc appt.

I have doc appt on monday to see what is going on I have had some blood when I wipe and it is usually at least 5 times a week, it's not a lot but still enough to worry me. I try not to think about it but it really sucks when I have to use the restroom. They did ultrasound and found a fibriod on uterus and a subchonic bleed, which is when the placenta attached to the uterus it started to bleed and the extra blood is in the uterus, she said it is nothing to worry about and that I may actually spot from it. So when I started to bleed I really wasn't concerned but how many days does it take for a little bit of blood to come out. well the only thing that keeps me calm is the fact that the u/s tech congratulated me and gave me a pic, if it was bad news then I guess she wouldn't have done either. Good night everyone it is very late. I'll check in tomorrow.

hi giry76 I wouldn't worry too much I would just wait and see if they rise again you didn't really have two full days to let them double plus some women don't double every two days sometimes it is three or four, Did your doctor check your progesterone leve? I was worried when mine went above doubling. but I guess all went well because I haven't had beta readings done in a while. Just take it easy and try not to worry. you will remain in my prayers.

bellabonga- I am totally shocked I had the EXACT same thing in February. It was bad I couldn't talk or swallow. They gave me antibiotics that were so strong I got a horrid case of yeast, sorry if TMI. I had never heard of that illness. I thought the doc was being funny until he produced papers that gave me more info. Take care of yourself.

Wow, thatīs an amazing coincidence! I had never heard of this before too and when I did some research on the internet, it seemed that this is a rather rare illness. I do envy you though for the antibiotics. ;) Since I can still hardly swallow, my nose is stuffed, I have a slimy cough (sorry if TMI) and a higher temperature than usual, I will go back to the doctor tomorrow. Itīs nearly a week now that Iīm ill and it seems that my body doesnīt get healthy again without antibiotics. I hope there is at least one you can take while your pregnant.

Other than that, I rarely feel nauseous which is strange because I had it 24/7 with my daughter. Makes me believe even more that this is a boy, given that everything with the pregnancy is okay. And I still donīt have any other symptoms but maybe that is because Iīm so busy with being ill anyway. However, Iīm glad when itīs tuesday and I have my first blood control and ultrasound!

giry76 - Wishing you luck for your ultrasound tomorrow. Thats good your numbers went up.

purplesunshine - I'm not sure how many mm my baby is. The nurse said he's about half an inch. When I was watching the ultraound screen, I thought it said 7 weeks 3 days so I might be measuring a few days behind. They released me to my OB so I'm trying not to worry about it. Hope your spotting stops but I bet it is just from the subchorionic bleed. Are you getting another ultrasound soon?

bellabonga
04-23-2006, 02:49 PM
ag05, one inch is 2.54cm which is 25.4mm. So half an inch would be something like 12 or 13mm. :)

good luck to giry and purple today!!

bellabonga hope you start to feel better. that sounds like its absolutely no fun!!

ag05 yay for a half inch baby!!

things with me are going fine, although somewhat uneventful. I'm pretty nauseous off and on during the day, and I have completely lost my appetite. Although, I have noticed that when I am hungry, I get pretty big cravings and can't think of anything else to eat besides what I'm craving.

How much weight have you guys gained or lost? anything? I weighed myself yesterday and was surprised to see that I haven't gained anything despite feeling uber bloated.

I am 8 weeks, 1 day today, and I have gained about 2 pounds. But I have not had any morning sickness. I HAVE had a feeling like I get light headed if I don't keep a relatively full stomach, so I have been eating a lot of little meals. But the past few days I have suddenly had some nausea, which seems strange to get now after I have not had ANY. Oh well, it seems to be gone today. I hope it is not a problem.

Good luck giry and purple!

I have been back at the doctorīs office today and unfortunately my pharyngitis hasnīt improved - no, now I also have a bad bronchitis and cough to no end. This night I only slept for two hours. :( Now I am on antibiotics and Iīm really glad about it. This seems to be the only way to go right now. So I hope Iīm better soon and you donīt have to tolerate my whining any longer! ;)

Apart from that I get quite excited because of my ultrasound appointment tomorrow. Only 24.5 hours to go!

I am lucky not to have gained weight at all so far. I remember last time my pants were all already kind of tight after 6 weeks because I was so bloated and I had already gained a pound or two. But this time Iīm not bloated and probably because of the illness Iīve lost two pounds. Yay!

I just read something that confirmed my worst fears:

As the internal organs and limbs are in such an early stage of development, the embryo is very sensitive to any drugs, viruses or bacteria that might get past the placental barrier. Most defects begin between weeks four and eight of development (six to 10 weeks of pregnancy), also known as the embryonic period. Substances that can seriously deform or harm your baby now are not always as dangerous in the later stages of pregnancy, although they can still cause damage.

So maybe I will have to think about an amniocentesis, given that everything looks okay until then.

But on the brighter side: You should have a look at the website I found this information on. Itīs www.babynames.com.au and has a really cool collection of baby names. And the link collection is very impressive! You shouldnīt miss that.

I had my ultrasound this morning and it was inconclusive. The endometreum was thickening like it should for a pregnancy, but she couldn't find the gestational sac. So I had another beta and I should get those results this afternoon. I am a wreck though. I just would like to know one way or the other. Hopefully the baby was just hiding. It is still pretty early as I am just over 6 weeks.

I have just come back from the doctors And she said all looks well and that I have graduated to seeing her every 4 weeks instead of every week I guess that is good . MY next appt is may 22. I'll be 12 weeks then hopefully I can hear the heart beat at next appointment.

I just got the results of my blood test so I feel like it’s official. Even though four +HPTs with three different brands should be enough to “count”, I wanted confirmation from my doctor’s office.
I knew since last week that I was pregnant without even taking a test since I had a severe migraine and was nauseated and miserable. Thankfully the nausea and headaches have eased up a bit and now I just feel the occasional bit of queasiness.
This is my second pregnancy and my first one, a twin pregnancy, was rough. I had constant nausea and dry heaves, severe migraines, lost 20 pounds and ended up in the emergency room twice. This one has started off rough but thus far, hasn’t been as bad. Aigh! Did I just jinx myself?
I'm looking forward to sharing the adventure with you ladies. A happy and healthy nine months to us all!

giry: Hopefully the baby was just hiding! I will keep you in my prayers.

bellabonga: I hope you feel better soon. There is nothing worse than being sick and not being able to do anything about it!

Weight: I think I've lost a couple pounds, which is crazy because I have to eat constantly or else I feel sick. Plus some of my pants don't fit anymore. I had to leave the top button undone on the ones I wore to work today. I was sure that I would gain weight, but nope not yet.

The thing that really sucks right now is we are having one of the worst years for allergies, and of course I'm pregnant so I can't take anything. Allergy sickness combined with morning sickness is not good! I ended up taking Friday off and I spent the weekend in bed.

Weight: I am 2lbs up already and I think it is all in my BBS, they are so big and full, I need a new bra already, my bras are all front lock, so I cannot move it to the last hooks. So I think it is time to go bra shopping, but also get some with hooks so I can just adjust later on…
Also I think because my bra is so tight I get a heartburn :(

I gained 7 lbs. doc. had a fit. but I blame that gain on quiting smoking. so O lost 3 lbs. then she tells me I need to gain one lb. aweek for the first 20 weeks so now at 8 weeks I have only gained 4 lbs. She gave me dietbetes(MISPELL) diet, not because of sugar problems but to make sure I gain weight properly.

TInker: Happy Birthday:) just in case I forget. Hope your birthday brings good news. My baby is due 2 days before my birthday.

Giry76, what is a beta? As Iīm from Germany Iīm not familiar with all terms you have. Whatever test that is, Iīm crossing my fingers for you that everything is okay!

Purplesunshine7, congratulations that your appointment went so well!

Tinkerbelljenny, Iīm envious! A facial, a massage and a trip to Arizona? I want all that, too! ;)

Iīm feeling slightly better although I had again only 3 hours of sleep this night since I coughed so much. This isnīt fair - just as I gave up smoking I get so ill instead of feeling healthy! All the viruses are probably really a mutant of the pink eye my daughter had. Too funny that today I have a pink eye, now that I take the antibiotics, isnīt it? Iīm really fed up with all this crap! But Iīm so excited that today at 4pm I finally have my obgyn appointment! :D

bellabonga, a beta is a test where they mesure the ammount of the pregnancy hormone. They have to do it more than once to see how it is changing. It should be doubleing every 48 - 72 hours in early pregnancy.

I got the results from my third beta. It was still up, (1600 something) but not as high as we would have liked. So now I am in the waiting game to see if the spotting stops.

Hmm, I actually lost a few lbs but do not have m/s. I think it's because I have been so busy and I imagine that with a baby growing in there (I hope, I hope) my metabolism is a little faster. I have not officially been weighed by my doc and am dreading all this scale business.

purplesunshine and bellabonga congrats on the quitting smoking.

purplesunshine it seems odd your ob would give you such a hard time about weight, especially since you have quit smoking. I hope he/she at least gave you a big thumbs up for that.

veeka you don't need to worry about diet for this blood test.

I still don't have any symptoms. Of course, it's still early. I just keep telling myself that it's a good thing this pg is so different from the one I m/c. By this time last time my bbs were killing me and I was exhausted.

Hi All! Thanks for the warm welcomes! To follow up on all the other weight gains and losses, I'm not sure if I have gained any weight but it wouldn't surprise me since I am eating like a linebacker. I am craving protein and cheese and would probably knock out anyone who got between me and a cheeseburger. I honestly don't remember the very early weeks of my first pregnancy but will not forget how sick I was and all the weight I lost in the first trimester. As such, I figure I'm stockpiling calories and nutrients in case that happens again and if that make me feel better about inhaling an Indian buffet then, by golly, I'm sticking with that story. :D

Welcome Veeka and Nicole

For some reason all I can think about is vacationing, I so don't want to be at work right now.

Exercise- I have been walking at night right after dinner, although I feel like it has not done anything for me seeing how I crave ice cream when I get back.

Housing- Well we have been on a search for the perfect house and me being so picky I haven’t liked anything so are lease is up may 1st in this small apartment, so I decided to call this place they rent condos/town homes our backyard will be a lake with a gazebo and it has a pool so that sold me so I made a appointment for a 1 bedroom with sunroom was $759 they were offering a special 150.0 to move in and that covers your processing fee, I was going to sign the lease you cant beat that. Well 15 minutes before my appointment with them they leased it out so when I got there the manager was like well Jennifer one of the other ladies leased it out so I said ok kind of bummed and she said how about I give you a 2 bedroom 2 bath sunroom, dining room, kitchen with eat in area, living room laundry room etc which has well over 1400 sq ftge for the same price I said you have a deal were do I sign, it is gorgeous the 1 bedroom had 850 sq ftge. So I'm super excited. I'm ready to move DH says I need to relax but I want to get in there NOW. :) So I'm starting to pack room by room then my DH and father will move all the furniture Saturday. And me and my mother will direct traffic.

Symptoms- I still am tired all the time and having cramps yesterday I could have sworn I was going to hug the toilet but it did not happen.

Changes- After the reality that we are going to be mother has it hit you guys thought about all the stuff that needs to change? Whether it is money or etc.. I have

I was thinking me and DH got married in August not even 2 weeks went by I started school so I never cooked and cleaned until now, that def has to change and us spending frivolously.

rosa727
04-25-2006, 09:41 AM
Chris'slady: I have definitely been thinking about everything that is going to change (since this is our first child). I'm not sure if anyone else feels like this, but I have mostly just been worried about my relationship with DH. We have been together for 8 years and lived together almost the whole time. We just are so close and have so much fun together, I guess I am afraid of things changing. But I know I would have felt that way no matter how long we waited to TTC, and we really want children. I just want to be closer than ever with my DH after the baby comes. Anyone else feel this way?

Anyway, congrats on your great condo! It sounds really nice!

04-25-2006, 09:56 AM
rosa- DH and i also have talked about that, but we are going to go on a vacation or two before the baby but i feel the same way, i feel like i have to do so much around the house, and etc

We are actually leaving for a weeklong trip to the Dominican Republic in a little over a week! I can't wait. And we will be taking another trip for our anniversary in July. We LOVE to travel together and do it a lot. That's one of the things I worry about not being able to do. But we already have a trip planned with the grandparents and the baby for next summer :) So that makes me feel better.

I guess I also just know I will miss the alone time we have. And I worry about having less love to give my DH since I will be giving so much love/attention to the baby. I don't want that to happen! But everyone says it won't. If you have a really good relationship before, it will only get better after having a baby. You just become a complete family.

Welcome msnicolea, VeekaSF and sophiapb!

Well I had my ultrasound appt today. Everything looked as it should so that is great news. They want me to come back on May 9 so by then hopefully we'll see a heartbeat then. Funny story about the appt though...my husband almost passed out!! He was standing next to me, the tech checked everything out, was making comments about everything (the sacs, ovaries, etc, etc like they do) and then she finished up and left so I could get dressed. Well he had gone to sit down before she was finished. When she left, he told me he wasn't feeling well and that he felt like he could have passed out. He said he was just overwhelmed with see everything and just kept thinking that was the room where we got the bad news about the m/c last summer. I had even forewarned him that there might not be much to see yet. He later tried to tell me it was due to his allergy medicine...men! Anyway, I had to get him a drink, etc and sent him out to the waiting room. They're doing another beta test to make sure all is well with that. I am not really worried or anything since I have not had any bad symptoms. We then went to Steak n Shake. I had a chz burger, fries, and Diet Vanilla Coke. I have not had any Diet Cokes so that was my treat! I think my husband decided that for now he won't go back to my appts but he may change his mind when they are "more exciting". Lord, if he is doing this now what will the delivery do to him!!

Hope everyone is feeling good. I have just been tired in the afternoons but that's about it.

We LOVE to travel together and do it a lot. That's one of the things I worry about not being able to do.

Rosa we felt the same way before our son was born. We loved to travel together and was worried that we wouldn't be able to do much once a baby came along. However, we have traveled more now than we did before our son. And it is so much fun having him along to experience our love of travel. We can't wait to share it with the next baby.

sunshine You just better hope you don't end up with a c/s, your husband might not being to handle that...ha! Men, are so funny. They could never give birth. Great news on the ultrasound.

Yesterday was my long awaited appointment - finally! Too bad that they were quite disorganized and somehow messed up a few things. First of all my appointment wasnīt with my regular obgyn but with one I had never seen before. They mixed it up because I had spoken to the new doctor on the phone once when my regular doctor wasnīt at the office.

However, the new doctor was okay and he took a lot of time for the ultrasound. And *drumroll* everything was perfectly okay! :D Little one is two to three days bigger than it should be and measures 8mm by now (which is nearly 1/3 inch). So he wanted to move my EDD up from 12/16 to 12/14. Weīll see that next time since he didnīt fill out my mother passport.

Btw, do you have something like that, too, in the USA? Here in Germany you have to carry a document thatīs called mother passport where all data about your pregnancy is filled in. Just in case that you faint at a bus stop or something like that, so that they know you are pregnant and if you have any medical conditions. You have to take it with you all the time until the baby is there. It came quite handy too when I was in the USA during the pregnancy with my daughter and I had to go to the emergency room because I had contractions.

So I was kind of annoyed that they didnīt fill in the details yesterday. The doctor said the nurse would do it and the nurse said my regular doctor would do it at the next appointment. Whatever. The also forgot to let me pee in the cup. At least they remembered to draw my blood but I didnīt get any results. Itīs strange that you all know your HCG-levels since my doctor never gives them to me. Oh well, now they are testing me for toxoplasmosis again since I didnīt have it before my first pregnancy. And I already got a sheet of information about NT and an extended first trimester screening where they measure the NT and take blood results from PAPP-A and beta-HCG. I did have a similar test with DD four years ago but then it was called a triple test. Too bad - last time the test was covered by my health insurance and this time weīll have to pay $220 for it ourselves.

Little one didnīt look too impressive right now, in fact it looked like a small blob. But the heartbeat was soooo visible! :) And the doctor said that all my pharyngitis/angina/pink eye/bronchitis stuff would likely do no harm to the baby. He thinks that everything will be fine. Btw today my pink eye is really bad and now I also have diarrhoea caused by the antibiotics. Seems I donīt want to miss out on anything during this pregnancy...

I would post the ultrasound picture but apart from the fact that itīs not too fascinating, I have no clue where to upload my pictures. I used to have an account at shutterfly but I read somewhere that you canīt use it on CC. Where do you have a free account?

Oh, and for the list: My next appointment is on May 9th

Welcome, Deb! :)

Rosa, I second Tinkerbelljenny on the travelling - it is possible. I know many people who do not travel with babies and toddlers or who travel only 1-2 hours by car because they are too afraid to take them on a plane. But that all depends on you. As you know we live in Germany and love to travel to Florida once a year. We did that when I was 6 months pregnant, when DD was 8 months old, when DD was 1 1/2 years old and when DD was 2 3/4 years old. The only time that the 10 hour flight was really bad was when she was 1 1/2 years old. She cried on the plane for about three hours. Apart from that it was exactly the day after Hurricane Charlie and we had to drive from Ft. Myers to Naples and back up to St. Petersburg until we finally got a hotel room. By then it was 11pm which means for us it was German time 5am and we had been up for 24 hours. That was really bad and I felt horrible for taking DD there. But she handled it quite well and all in all the vacation was still nice. So as long as you have everything with you to guarantee the childīs wellbeing, you can still do a lot of travelling. Although for me the number of countries I would travel to is rather limited now. There are lots of countries I wouldnīt travel to because I had no trust in the medical symstem should we need it.

Hey girls

Welcome to all of the new graduates. You are in for a happy/sad/exciting/frustrating/scary/fantastic experience!

I learned some things that I thought I'd share:
If you have OnDemand from Comcast cable, there are some shows dedicated to pg/babies on the Home/Life Section. I watched one on maternity clothes from Liz Lange last week.
The local collge near me has a pg water aerobics class that sounds pretty cool. I will do at least one of the summer sessions. (I hope.)
The book titled "Belly Laughs" by Jenny McCarthy is very funny and frank. (You must keep a sense of humor when reading this. She nevers claims to be a doctor and doesn't give advice...she's telling HER experience. If you can't handle a few curse words and some crudness, don't buy this book.)
SkipHop makes really cool baby bags. I read an article on CNN about the company. The bags are void of bunnies and bows :) (There's nothing wrong with either but I'm trying to avoid turning both.)

I'm still feeling pretty good overall. I fall asleep a lot earlier than I used to but, if that's all that I have to deal with, I'll consider myself lucky.

Thanks everyone for the Warm Welcome!!! So happy to be joining you all.

Allison - I did see that. So cool we have the same due date. I'm just wondering if we'll be early and have a Xmas baby or if we'll be late and have a New Years Baby! So much fun.

Going to schedule my doctors appointment. Guess my doctor wants to see me first then maybe release me to an OBGYN? Not too sure. Problem? DH and I will be moving back home to LA during the summer so I will be getting some care here and then have to find a new doctor down south. SUCKS but hey, I'll take what I can get, right?

Ok, off to eat some breakfast and help this little munchkin grow.

tinkerbell and bellabonga: Thanks for sharing your experiences with travelling while PG and after having babies! That made me feel a lot better. I just want to try to be a laid back parent and not super worried and crazy. I really hope to be the type that will take our child with us when we travel (within reason).

Welcome Deb! That is a fun due date - right in the middle of all the holiday fun :)

So I FINALLY got to see nurse today and gave blood and all that. She confirmed that I am 8 weeks, 3 days PG and gave me an EDD of December 3. Still waiting for my doctor's appointment on May 3. I'll be gettting an ultrasound then. The good thing about having to wait that long is that she said I will most definitely see a lot, including the heartbeat. My DH is coming to that appointment. I'm SO excited!

Welcome LadyD. Exciting to have a new member!

I've been MIA a bit because I have been fighting massive sadness. I feel like I have the problems of the world on my shoulders and it's freaking me out. I know it's preggo hormones but it's still overwhelming. I have been crying for about three days now and it is only just now easing up a bit. I don't remember this happening with my first pregnancy but I am having quite a few symptoms that I didn't have with the first pregnancy.
Yesterday morning I had my first all out gagging and semi-vomiting session. I usually gag while brushing my teeth when I'm pregnant but yesterday I could not stop even after taking out the toothbrush. Thankfully I still had an empty stomach at that point other wise it would have been emptied anyway. :o Well, at least I knew that I was still pregnant!
On a positive note, I just got a call from a close friend and she's pregnant too! She's due New Year's eve while I'm due Christmas eve. I'll have a friend to be pregnant with IRL. Okay, feeling a bit better already. :)
I had my second beta this morning and am awaiting the results. Crossing my fingers for timely doubling.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

I am feeling incredibly tired and emotional this week.
We have our prenatal class next week and then our 1st appt the week after. I am so anxious to see our little one.

Thanks Sophia for the warm welcome!! Its so great to join you all, even though I'm still in disbelief.

Marten - I am so there with ya on the emotions!! I can't control them this week.

Babylove - OMG Hello!!! Your little one will be here before we know it!! WOW, August...very exciting. Thanks for the congrats.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi girls,
I have a question: I have a massage appointment scheduled this Sunday, is it ok to keep it? I hear a lot of no nos for massages in pregnant women, what have you heard? What do you think?

So far I am feeling great I see no changes for the exception of BBs size, and going to bed at 10pm. My DH is complaining that we never BD anymore, I tell him to get to bed by 10pm, if he wants to get some ;) What can i do, I cannot stay up till 11pm and wait for him :(

Veeka I did a quick google search and came up with many sites that had good info including this one http://www.womenshealthcaretopics.com/preg_massage.htm
In general all seemed to say it was ok or even benificial IF your therapist knows prenatal massage techniques. Apparently there are things they can and can not do and some of the oils are contraindicated.

Today I have a gnarly headache. According to babycenter and babyzone I am at six weeks...still so early.

Uaaah, I knew it! The minute the antibiotics worked, morning sickness kicked in. Right now it is so bad I really feel like Iīd have to run to badroom every minute. I hope it wonīt last as long as in my first pregnancy. I was nauseaous 24/7 until week 16 or 17.

I hardly dare to ask but has anyone else already a problem with jeans getting kind of tight? :o Iīm a size 8-10 but I still had some baby belly left when this pregnancy started. And my belly seems to remember quite well how a pregnant belly has to look - itīs already growing. Although Iīm only 6w6d I look more like 14wks! I think last time I already wore maternity pants between week 8 and 10 and it seems like I might beat this. Too bad since I have borrowed my maternity clothes to a friend who is due in mid-June. I had hoped to be able to make it without them until then. This time Iīll probably buy some clothes on Ebay.com since here in Germany the maternity clothes really suck. Even H&M has only occasionally something nice. I really love Old Navy but since Iīm in Germany I canīt order online there. Too bad since I fell in love with one of their capris. I so hope I will find them on Ebay soon!

Hope everyone is feeling well!

hi ladies-

welcome to all the new mommies!!

just wanted to send a few comments.

sophiapb i totally know what you mean about crazy sadness hormones! i'm such a nightmare! how did you betas turn out?

veeka actually, i've heard that you shouldn't really have any massages during your first trimester. i'm not entirely sure why, but i'd call you doctor to find out for sure.

bellabonga ugh! hope your ms gets better! but, never fear, my jeans are getting tight as well. it doesn't really look like i've gotten bigger, but i certainly FEEL like i have. some of it is just bloating though, i know. i love old navy too, but the one near by doesn't have a maternity section. :(

we have our first appt today!!! i'm so excited. we're only meeting with the nurse which will probably be anti-climatic, but at least we finally get to go in!! our ultrasound is next week. :D

have a good day everyone!!

Hi Ladies

I had my first appt on Tuesday. It was good. I got a lot great information. And the Dr. was very very nice. She was running a little late b/c she had just delivered a baby and two other women in labor at the hospital next door.

I had a quick ultra sound, she didn't expect to see a heartbeat but she wanted to see the sack. Since I had a miscarriage in Nov. she wants to watch me very closely. I have another ultra sound Monday 5/1 to hopefully see the heartbeat. Then I have my regular apt on 5/23 with the Doc. I really love love this office. They are all so nice and the office is beautiful.

Hey mandersald-Betas were fine, thanks for asking. I had a bit of panic because the nurse left a voice mail on my work phone and when I played it back it sounded like she said "Beta is a failure". What she really said was "Beta is at 4200" but I totally heard it wrong. I played the message back twice and each time I heard "failure" even though she clearly said 4200. I'm a nut job!

Hi bellabonga, sorry about the M/S. One of the joys of pregnancy! I've had it too but so far it's been pretty mild. Hey, I liked the idea of the mother's passport. I don't know of anyone in the US that does that but I think it's a terrific idea. Yes, we might have Old Navy but I'd rather have a document listing my medical history. Well, wait! Why can't I have both? ;)

Veeka-I've heard that there are certain pressure points that can cause uterine contractions early on in the pregnancy. Between you and me, I think it's a bunch of bull. I know that KLo is a masseusse and I remember she had massages all through her whole pregnancy. I personally think that because a miscarriage is possible in the first trimester under the best circumstances, I suspect that a lot of spas won't do them just for liability reasons. In our litigious society I think it's too easy for someone to suffer a miscarrage and then blame it on the spa. Just my $.02.

Hey Kimmer, I've got an U/S on Monday as well. In my case, it's too early for the heartbeat and not even sure what we can really see but hey, who knows? I guess if they see the sac in the uterus it rules out an ectopic. Whatever. I just follow the doctor's orders and take it from there. ;)

Thank you girls for the advice on the massage this weekend. The lady who does my massage used to be a nurse for 30 years back in Russia, so I decided just to ask her when she gets there and see what she says.

Which brings me to my next question? Because massage is done at my parent’s house, and when I will be asking her, my mom for sure is going to be there, I was thinking of telling my parents that we are pregnant, before the massage lady shows up. When did you start telling people and who did you tell?

veeka I promised my Mom I would tell her as soon as I knew. After the m/c she promised she would never ask if I was pg as long as I promised to tell her when I was. Then, I had to tell a friend who is organizing teams for a 10K I was supposed to run in June. I obviously won't be running and wanted her to have plenty of time to find a replacement. Then last weekend I told another friend because I was staying at her house and it was pretty obvious with the not drinking. For other people I have just given them all the excuses in the book. :)

That's great that several of you have had an u/s. I am so hoping my Dr. will do one. I have an appointment Tuesday for bloodwork. If they don't do it then I am hoping they do it at the follow-up a week later. I will be almost 7 weeks on Tuesday and almost 8 weeks at the follow-up. Having had a m/c in October I think I could relax a little more if I could experience a "normal" u/s.

pacificbliss i'm just curious...why did you decide to not run the 10k? are you a runner? have you been exercising? I've still been actively running since finding out about the baby. I had to slow down quite a bit, but i've kept up with the mileage still. I did find that when my tummy is upset i can't get in a good run...anyways, just curious.:)

hope everyone is doing well!!
