I know there's a thread about exfoliating products for the body, and people have mentioned facial exfoliating products in other random threads. But, I thought it would be nice to have one "master" thread for it.

I'm in desperate need of a new exfoliating scrub for my face. What's your favorite?

I use Kiehl's Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub once or twice a week:

http://www.kiehls.com/img/products/324_L.jpg

Made with Real Fruit
Fruit enzymes gently exfoliate skin
Leaves skin refreshed, soft and clean
Suitable for all skin types with the exception of acne-prone skin and very sensitive or irritated skin
Not tested on animals

This unique scrub and natural exfoliator is suitable for all skin types and utilizes small pieces of actual pineapple and papaya fruit as well as finely ground scrub grains to exfoliate the skin gently and naturally. In addition, the Papain and Bromelain known to be contained in the actual Papaya and Pineapple add a further natural exfoliating effect to remove dead skin cells and to leave the skin refreshed, soft and clean. The natural vitamin oils further enhance the superb skin effects of this special treatment.

ETA: But I am thinking about checking out this one, b/c my face is prone to dryness (I don't drink enough water) -

Kiehl's Milk, Honey, and Almond Scrub

http://www.kiehls.com/img/products/363_L.jpg

Extremely gentle
Non-drying
Almond Meal gently but thoroughly exfoliates dead skin cells
Highly beneficial for drier skin types because of its moisturizing effects
Not tested on animals

Our rich scrub treatment provides a very gentle, moisturizing, deep pore-cleansing effect for all, including dry or sensitive skin types.

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream works well for me. It is incredibly gentle, but works really well.

I am also a fan of the Clinique scrubs, and I recommend using their Turnaround Cream with them for really glowy, exfoliated skin.

I like Origins Modern Friction.

Sand-blasting skin with coarse, chemical crystals? How painfully passé. Here’s age-erasing exfoliation without irritation. Skin-refining Rice Starch, cushioned in cream, shows real affinity for rapidly removing sluggish cells, uneven patches and signs of skin damage and discolorations. Lemon Oil kick starts the process of illumination. Another age-sweeping action: skin-menacing molecules are mopped up. All while Aloe keeps skin calm and comfy. There’s no ouch, extra steps or other complications. No redness or flaking follows. The before-and-afters are amazing. Signs of fine lines and size of pores appear to shrink in size. Skin looks perfectly polished, smooth and luminous. And the perk-me-up aromas of Bergamot and Peppermint help you look on the bright side.

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream works well for me. It is incredibly gentle, but works really well. I forgot I used to use this one. Most exfoliating scrubs make my skin even drier and flakier, but I don't think this one did that.

I've been using Bobbi Brown's Exfoliating Cream Wash b/c a BB rep recommended it for my dry skin, but it hasn't helped at all. I think it actually makes it worse.

I love Swiss Ives Apricot Scrub, but I wouldn't recommend it for dry or sensitive skin. But it's amazing on my combination skin.

Baking soda made my skin burn and itch...I went back to my St. Ives apricot scrub, and my skin is happy again.

St. Ives was too rough on me so I use it as a body scrub.

I use Origin's Modern Friction.

Maybe that's my problem. I am almost done with the tube that I got to try it, and I haven't been overly impressed, and my skin has been irritated alot. I'm tracking my sephora order, and hopefully it will arrive today, but I got some philosophy stuff that I'm hoping will work.

Just a plain old washcloth :) I also use hydroxy acids as exfolliation though too. Try to avoid anything with ground up *anything* in it (apricot scrubs, almond scrubs) as they create microscopic tears in your skin will not only invite bacteria to grow but do damage to your skin over time and prolonged use Did you know that a lot of the damage you do to your skin can take 15 years to show up? That tends to be why some people look like they aged overnight.

ITA. I also use a facecloth to exfoliate. I also use this...it is a wonderful mixture of soy and round beads that exfoliate. Plus, no testing on animals. :)

St. Ives also makes a micro-scrub for sensitive skin. I tried it once but it didn't do anything for me. I use the regular one though.

What brand/product would you suggest? I use a mild exfoliator once in a while (when I remember) that the lady who used to do my facials suggested. Are facials bad too?

 I swear, every time you post, I find out I've been doing something horribly damaging to myself! I'm going to look 60 by the time I turn 30.

I've been using apricot scrub since I was a teenager, now what do I do? *nervous*

I used to use Neutrogena, but then I became a Mary Kay consultant and started using all Mary Kay products. I have to say, even if I weren't a consultant, I'd be using the 3-in-1 cleanser anyway - I love it!

I use MD Formulations Face & Body Scrub about twice a week (and baking soda about twice a week). Since it has glycolic acid, it helps to exfoliate that way.

FWIW, it's the only thing that can take care of those obnoxious bumps on my arms (I rub it on my arms, and let it sit while I shave my legs and wash my face before I rinse it off).

my dh has bumps on his arms too. i started making him use baking soda on them and applying toner to his arms as well. his arms have started looking better. though, i might have him use that too.

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream works well for me. It is incredibly gentle, but works really well.

This is the one I use when I need extra "polishing". But I mostly rely on alpha hydroxy creams. My favorite is by Peter Thomas Roth. Both products are at Sephora.com (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=bFhiiciDp9o&offerid=32532.10000001&type=3&subid=0")
