I'm waiting for the pediatrician's office to call back, but thought maybe in the mean time, someone here might have some ideas. DD was hospitalized this past week for dehydration due to rotovirus. She was released on Wednesday, and the only dietary restriction was no dairy. She is no longer vomitting or having diarrea, but is pooping all the time. She must have pooped 8-10 times yesterday. So far today, she has already pooped 3 times. (Maybe TMI, but it is soft - not diarhea, but on the soft side). Anyone have any thoughts? TIA.

No thoughts, but I hope Sarah feels better soon!

We've had 4-5 poops a day lately with just regular eating (I guess solids means more poops) and that's tough enough; I can't imagine 8-10 a day!

My DD also goes about 4-5 times a day with her normal solids eating. For a while though she was going 8 or more times a day and the dr. and I couldn't figure out why- she had no dehydration, was eating normally, no fever or other symptoms. It lasted about a month. What stopped it (I didn't know at the time this would happen though) is I gave her bananas, which stopped her right up- she didn't go for 2 days and then went back to 1-2 times a day at that time (she was only getting 1-2 meals of solids a day and very small pureed amounts at that time). I still feel like I often have to find a balance between to much fiber type stuff and too much of the prunes type of stuff. If your DD is still peeing plenty and acting like her normal self, maybe it's still the rota just making it's way out of her body? (not actually through the poop, just meaning the tail end of the virus).

We just got over a bug where Madelyn had really bad diarrhea for about 8 days. It took about a week, after the diarrhea cleared up, for her to go back to pooping about 3 times a day with her normal consistency.

Wow - that is alot of poop talk!
