It's a very long story, but i may have adopted a shop cat that the guys have been calling Dude. Well, dude's a girl, and i'm not so sure i want to call her Dude. I've been getting a lot of laughs while trying to get her to a no kill shelter (none of which have room, which is why she may be my cat now!) and i was kind of embarrassed when calling the vet yesterday and they asked me what her name was.

So any ideas of a name that starts with D?

So far hubby and i have come up with:

Dodie
Dahlia
Dharma

but i'm not so sure yet if any of those fit her.

It took us almost two weeks to name our cat we have now!

Do you just want it to sound similar to the cat's ear, or do you want it to start with a "D"?

I was thinking maybe "Ruth".

Sudie
Mood
Boo
Lewd - hee hee

I don't think you need to stick with a name that starts with "d", I think you need a name that has the "oo" sound in it.

Do you like Arrested Development? You could call her Bluth.

I agree that an "oo" rhyming name will be more of a match in the cat's mind than a non-rhyming D name.

Cute suggestions. I can't think of any others at the moment.

Does this cat know her name? All but one of our cats have thought their name was "Here, kitty, kitty, kitty." :D

Just thought that maybe you would be alright in picking any name?

"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty."

Yup, us too! We even once had a dog that would come to here kitty kitty because he knew the cats would get a treat and he wanted to make sure he didn't miss out.

Isis knows her name - and i think that the new kitty is starting to think her name is also Isis. I think it's something in the way the "I" stands out from the rest of the name.

So with Dude. We've decided to go with Dharma. She didn't really know her name, she was just happy to have somebody notice her. We went with a "D" name more for ourselves, because we keep calling her "Du-Dharama."
