Charting Our Course to the BFPs
http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.
So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!
Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.
Your threadmistresses for this thread are gymwidow and cowgirl.
To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread after 5 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistresses would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if we get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.
If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test!
Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

How to link a chart from Fertility Friend:
Go to My Chart. In the Menu bar on the right hand side go down to sharing- then home page setup, the link will appear in a text box under the heading "Your Charting Home Page Web Address." Highlight the link and copy it to your signature or a post.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb
* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.
* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.
* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.
* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.
* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.
* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.
* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.
* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.
* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.
* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.
* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!
* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!
* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations
This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!
•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation
•AFNW: "Aunt Flo Not Wanted"; the day your period is expected to start, but you are hoping it doesn't!
•AO: anovulatory (cycle without ovulation)
•BBs: "boobs"; breasts
•BBL: "be back later"
•BBT: Basal Body Thermometer; This is used to measure your basal body temperature, when you wake up in the morning, after at least 3 hours of sleep, before you start to move around; Use a special BBT thermometer to take your temperature because they measure the small changes in temperature from day to day more accurately than the regular fever thermometers.
•BCP: Birth control pills
•BD'ing: "baby dancing"; baby-making intercourse
•BFN: "Big Fat Neutral" or “Big Fat Negative”; Negative pregnancy test.
•BF'ing: breast-feeding
•BRB: "be right back"
•CD: cycle day; a particular day in your menstrual cycle (example: CD1 is the first day of your period)
•CL: Cover Line; a visual tool used to separate the low (pre-ovulatory) temps from high (post-ovulatory) temps; a coverline is typically based on the temperatures 6 days prior to ovulation.
•CM: cervical mucous; one of the most useful clues your body can give you in predicting your fertility; it can range from dry, creamy, sticky, or (the most fertile) egg white/watery type.
•CF: cervical fluid; same as cervical mucus
•CP: cervical position; an optional, but sometimes really useful, fertility sign; CP will generally be low, firm and closed before and after ovulation, and high, soft and open during your fertile time.
•DD: "dear daughter"
•DH: "dear husband"
•DS: "dear son"
•DPO: Days Past Ovulation; number of days from your post-ovulatory temperature rise. (Example: 1DPO is the day after your ovulation)
•Endo: endometriosis (can be a fertility problem)
•EDC and EDD: estimated date of confinement (antiquated, but still used by physicians) and estimated date of delivery
•EPT: a brand of pregnancy test, or, generic for "early pregnancy test"
•EW or EWCM: egg white cervical mucus; the most fertile quality CM; it is slippery, clear and stretchy, like egg whites; also EWCF
•FAM: Fertility Awareness Method; the method of fertility and/or birth control that correlates the physical changes you experience during your cycle to predict when you are most fertile
•FF: Fertility Friend, an online (free, for basic services) fertility charting site (website); (could also be formula feeding; check context)
•FM: fertility monitor
•FMU: first morning urine
•FP: follicular phase; the phase before ovulation, where the egg matures in the ovaries
•FRED: First Response Early Detection (pregnancy test)
•HCG: human chorionic gonadotropin; the hormone that is present during pregnancy and what the HPT's and blood test measure to determine if you are pregnant
•HTH: "hope that helps"
•HPT: home pregnancy test; a urine pregnancy test you can take at home
•IMHO: "in my humble opinion"
•IMO: "in my opinion"
•IUI: intra-uterine insemination
•IVF: in vitro fertilization
•KU: knocked up
•LH: leutenizing hormone; the LH surge is what is measured by the OPKs; this hormone signals the egg to burst from the ovary
•LP: luteal phase; the phase of your cycle that begins just after ovulation and continues for 10-18 days, ending with the start of your next period; during the LP, your body continues to build up the lining of your uterus, and produce hormones which would support a pregnancy; this is the time when a fertilized egg can implant into the uterine lining
MBFP Mystery big fat positive- When you see a BFP in someone’s chart but they haven’t announced it yet
•NFP: Natural Family Planning; similar to FAM, but with abstinence during the fertile period
•O, Oing, Oed: ovulation, ovulating, or ovulated
•OPK: ovulation predictor kit; tests for presence of LH surge that usually precedes ovulation by 12-48 hours; these tests are quite expensive and not always accurate (if you take medication or depending on your age); these are optional when charting with FF, but if your fertility data is not clear it can bring more light and help interpret difficult cases
•OS: Ovusoft; charting software based on TCOYF
•PCOS: polycystic ovarian syndrome (a fertility problem)
•PG: pregnant
•PIAC: pee in a cup
•POAS: pee on a stick
•RE: reproductive endocrinologist
•SA: semen analysis
•SH: "sweet husband"
•SO: "significant other"
•SYS, SYL : See ya soon! or See ya later!
•TCOYF: Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler; a book and website about charting and fertility.
•TMI: "too much information" - There is no such thing when TTC!
•TTA: "trying to avoid"
•TTC: "trying to conceive"
•TTFN: "ta-ta for now"
•TTYL, TTYS: "talk to you later" or "talk to you soon"

Hi ladies! I'm back from my week away and so excited to see so many BFPs! Wow!
I thought about TTC a grand total of about 4 times while I was gone - basically just long enough to remember to take my Clomid each day. I took it at a different time every day, so I hope that doesn't make a difference. I only temped once while gone and then decided it just wasn't worth it. I picked back up today and will prob. temp long enough to confirm O.
Tomorrow I have an u/s to check my follie growth, and hopefully will be able to trigger tomorrow and do IUI on Tuesday. This is our last month with just Clomid, so I really hope it works. I'm not looking forward to having to do injectables. I feel very relaxed about everything, with a "what will happen will happen" attitude. I hope that carries over into the 2WW!
Sorry for no individual SO's, but I just missed too much. I will say congrats to BethIrish, Sare, Roberta, & Mayham! H&H 9 months to you all!

Threadmistress, please move me to "Taking a break"
DH and I have decided (after a lot of tears and discussion) that we have a lot of things we need to take care of before we can knowingly bring a child into this world. I have decided to enroll in Fall semester classes at a local university and finish my education degree and DH has some debt he needs to take care of from his first marriage....needless to say, we are a bit upset, but know that in the long run, it will make our marriage stronger and create a better life for our future child. I won't be going back on BCP, but I am going to stop chartin for the time being. I'm probably track my O by cm and i'll keep my ff chart since I paid for a 90 day VIP.
You ladies have been amazing and I will be back when we are ready to try again (or to announce anything special, should taking a break cause special things to happen ;) ). THank you so much for all the advice an support. i hope you don't mind if i lurk around here and check up on you girls.

Good luck taking a break, Charliez. PLEASE still check in! We would miss you! I know it had to be a very difficult decision to make and I admire you for being so mature about it and doing what's best in the long run.
Congrats to mayhem!!!!!!!! It's been a long time coming!!!
I hope you feel better about TTC soon, LDS Angel. I know it can get very difficult when it seems like your body isn't cooperating, especially when you are doing everything "right".
I hope the other MBFP will come out of hiding soon!!!
I go for the blood draw (progesterone levels) tomorrow afternoon, so wish me luck! I guess they will just call me with the results.

Welcome, Heather! Can you explain the Dr. Phil thing in your avatar? Were you on the show? I am at work when he is on so I don't usually get to watch.
I just thought I would tell yall what I did this morning, just to get some input. I know you aren't supposed to temp more than once, but I had to...
So my alarm goes off at 7, like always, and I immediately grabbed my thermometer-it's habit now-I wasn't really awake good yet. So my first temp was 97.2. I am at 6DPO so I almost got excited since my post-O temps have been 97.9-98.2. Then I realize that my mouth was incredibly dry and I must have slept with my mouth open, so I close my mouth for 5 minutes and temp again. It was 98.0 that time, so that is what I recorded. I know I *should* have just held my mouth closed for 5 min after the alarm and then temped, but it was just a reaction to grab the thermometer. Any thoughts?

Threadmistress, please move me to Taking a Break. THanks!
DH and I talked this weekend, and we think we are going to take a break. Lately, I've become a bit obsessive with the charting, and I think it's stressing me out. The next 2 months we are just going to focus on getting the house in shape, re-establish my running routine, and not focus too much on TTC.
Good luck everyone!

First, congrats to all the BFPs!!! Here's to a happy and healty 9 months! :)
Second, I just realized that I'm still in the "waiting to O" status, so can you please move me to "Think I O'd, testing 3/27?"
Third, I have my first gyn. appt since TTC on Tuesday. Is there any reason I should take a copy of my first chart in to her? I'm thinking there really isn't any reason since it seems like it's a pretty normal chart, and that she really wouldn't care to see them unless there are issues later on.

Just wanted to comment, I took my cycle length and when I O'd, but that was when I had about 5 months worth of charts at least. I never took my charts, just had the info written down.

Good morning ladies. CD12 here and a successful RE appt this morning. I grew 3 eggies this month, 2 on the left and 1 on the right (I think). Two were mature, but one wasn't that big yet. But the 2 mature ones were big enough for me to trigger, so I did, and we go in for IUI tomorrow. This is our third one, so hopefully the third time's the charm! I feel pretty good about it. I hope this is it!
LDS Angel, I'm so sorry you're having a rough time. Hugs to you!
charliezangel, it sounds like you guys are doing what's best for you, however hard it may be. I hope you're back soon with great news to share!
Jess71903, luck!
stevesbabygirl, welcome!
polarama, sounds like a good plan. Good luck with all you want to accomplish!
Mrs Pell, it can't hurt to take a copy of your chart with you. If she wants to see it, she can, or you can just tell her about it and see what she says.

Anyone like to hazard a guess as to what is going one with my chart?
I thought for sure I would wake to a lower temp and Af this morning. But nothing so far (YEAH!) but I am wondering if I Oed two days later and thus I am only 9 DPO and too early to be testing or having AF.
Thoughts?
Welcome Stevesbabygirl! I remember you from LIW (I believe) at WC. :)
Hey girls, just dropping in. I just got back to work today after my vacation so I *finally* have internet access;).
All is well, starting temping again yesterday with my "better" thermometer so I am ready to go:)
By the way, I spy a MBFP. . .

Wow, go away for a weekend and look what I come back to! Congrats to the BFPs! Lots of girls taking breaks. I hope you all can relax during your breaks and hopfully something will come of it.
CD4 for me. Af was super light this time. I'm starting to get worried about it. The only day I could even wear a tampon was day 1. Every other day was just light spotting. :o I'm taking the One Source Prenatals, is there something else I should take to help thicken my lining? B6 maybe??
I'm going to try and pick up a new thermometer today. I didnt' temp this weeknd due to AF and wanting to sleep in. This morning my temp was 98.5 (which is high for me). My dog ate my thermometer right around O time last month so I got a new one. I temped high the whole time with it but thought it was because I'd Od. Now I'm wondering if there isn't something wrong with the thermometer. Just something else to obsess about.

I don't know lattee22. It looks possible that you O'd a couple days later, but I don't know! That dip is pretty good. Mine called my O the day after my dip, which was good for the BD schedule, but I just knew it was the day of the dip!
Chris-n-Jenn- I am sorry things are so comfusing for you. Take a test just to be sure, but my AFs have been that way for the last 5 or 6 months too. I am going for a blood draw today because my Dr. wants to make sure I have enough progesterone...I know I O (nurse said charting wasn't that reliable-not sure she knew what I was talking about) but maybe I don't have enough prog. to thicken the lining enough. I will let you know what I find out and maybe it will help you too.

Chris and Jen-
Have you taken a test? I'm not saying you're preggers, but maybe you should test. Just an idea. ;)
For some reason, this did not even occur to me until I posted in here this morning. AF on Friday was definatly red. The spotting was brown. Do you think I could still be preggo even with "RED" flow??
I have 1 IC test at home. When I go get the new thermometer I'll grab a couple more tests. Not getting my hopes up since it is highly unlikely.

Jen-Just coming out of lurkdom to tell you that you should definately test. I had brown spotting (maybe even light flow) for a few days. I was sure AF was coming. Not to say that you ARE pg, but I would test just to make sure! :)
While I'm here, here is some ~~~~BABY DUST!!!!~~~~

03-20-2006, 09:46 AM
Thanks Ashley! I can't believe I brought you out of lurkdom! :D
I will test tomorrow morning, just to make sure. I guess because the beginning was red and not brown, I'm not holding much hope. But I guess you never know. I have heard of some women who had actual periods for a couple of months not even realizing that they were preggo because of it. Gonna play it  .

Just checking in on the new thread. Congrats to our BFP's!! And I see a couple MBFP's too! I hope this is a trend to round out March with a nice big number. :D
Thanks for stalking us, ellidew. ;)
Welcom back, gymwidow! Good for you for feeling calm about TTC this month. It's tough to do but is so much more healthy for us all. (much easier said than done, says the obsessive one analyzing her own chart along with everyone else's everyday. :p)
Sorry about the annov cycle, LDS. I hope you're body will start cooperating this month.
charliezangel ~ I'm sorry you have to make that tough decision to take a break from TTC. But it sounds like you've really talked it out and this is the best decision for you both. Good luck! :)
Jess ~ Good luck with your test today! I hope your numbers are right on!
Welcome, stevesbabygirl! And congrats on the Dr. Phil show. I read your story last night. I TiVo Dr. Phil so I'll definitely look for you and DH.
Good luck to you polarama. I hope this break does you good. :)
Mrs pell ~ I'd take my chart just in case. You don't have to necessarily show it to her but at least you'll have it. You can mention it and see if she's interested, if so you'll be prepared.
Thanks for the babydust, Spencer's girl!
I hope you O'd, cowgirl. On to the 2WW!
lattee22 ~ I'm not very good at analyzing charts (even though I'm constantly looking at them) but I hope your temp staying up is a very good thing!
Welcome back, MrsR! I hope your new therm brings you good luck! ;)
Chris~n~Jen, Confusing charts are so frustrating! I hope that your light AF means something great though. Fingers are crossed for you.
Whew, now I know why I can't stay caught up. That was just 2 days. I'm tired! LOL

Oh, and a question for any of you chart stalkers. ;) Anybody want to take a look and tell me when you think I O'd. FF is saying CD 25 (we all know how right FF is though. ) and based on my temp jump that might be right but I still had EW off and on until CD 28 and my temp jumped up the next day too (not as much but still jumped). Could it be that I actually O'd on CD 28? Or does 25 look reasonable? I'm coming close to my test date but I don't want to test if my O date isn't right. TIA! :)
Jess71903
03-20-2006, 11:06 AM
I am like you, shanna. I chart stalk, but not a very good analyst. I think I would see the shift at the date FF called, but I guess it's possiblethat it was 2 days later. It would be better for your BD schedule, huh (unless you don't put them all in). You have a nice long LP either way! At 15 or 13 DPO, I would think you could get an accurate test. Are you planning to test in the morning?? Fingers crossed for you!
gymwidow
03-20-2006, 11:19 AM
lattee22, the later date def. is possible. But remember either way that 11DPO is still early for a BFP!
Chris~n~Jen, def. take a test tomorrow!
Jess71903, my RE also says that charting is not that accurate. It's good to show patterns, but is not entirely reliable. The only thing that is, really, are blood tests.
jnshanna, thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to stay this way through the 2WW! Your chart looks like you might've O'd later, if that's what your CM indicates. Either way, you're nearing a good test time.
I see 2 MBFPs! Congrats! :D

Congrats to the new MBFP! :D
Hey there ladies. I need to vent and thought that you all would probably be the most understanding of why I am so upset. It seems like everyone I know is pregnant (no joke, we have 10 friends either pregnant or they have babies 2 months or younger). Only one other of my close friends is trying to get PG (everyone else is either not married, PG, just had a baby or already has the number of kids they want).
I just found out from DH that his college roommate's wife is pregnant again with TWINS. What upsets me so much is that all of these recently pregger friends got pregnant without really trying -- it was mostly a "let's see what happens" or they were paying attention to CM at most and BDing around that time. I guess I am just frustrated because during the last 10 months I have done all or some of the following: charting, using a fertility monitor, using OPKs and still, I am not PG:mad:
I am trying to be happy for all of my friends but I am still very sad when I hear about another friend who is PG. DH tells me I need to not get sad when we find out about other friends who are PG and our time will come. I am just so impatient, I want my time to be now:(

I can say that when I was waiting to TTC awhile back I felt like everyone I knew was pregnant or trying and I was so frustrated that my DH wasn't ready. So while I can't say I completely understand, I do feel like I can relate. I am so sorry that TTC can be so hard and frustrating. Especially for women who are used to being in control of achieving what we want. We are used to setting goals and them working hard to achieve them. unfortunately, as we all know too well, there is an element of TTC that is up to God or whatever higher power or whatever you believe in. That is extraordinarily frustrating and it is hard to be happy for other people...even people you love or care about. I think your DH sound sliek a great guy and is trying to be helpful. However, you are entitled to feel what you feel and I think you can be sad and angry and frustrated for yourself at the same time that you are happy for someone else.
I hope I have helped a bit!!! ((((HUGS)))))!!!!

Welcome, stevesbabygirl! I hope your stay here is short and sweet. ;)
jnshanna, I think it looks likely that you O'd on day 28. If I were you I would wait a few more days to test, just to make sure it will be accurate. Good luck!!
Sorry, not enough time for proper SO's!

I had an appt with my new doctor today and things went well. She doesn't think I'm crazy for charting, although she did recommend that I not stress myself out over it. She was very open to doing an acupuncture referral, even to referring me to an RE before the year mark if that's what I wanted. I don't really think that's necessary yet though. She also wrote an order for an SA for my DH! I'm so happy to be able to get that part done, just to make sure it is ok. And if it isn't ok, then we know that we can start the whole RE process sooner. So all in all, a good visit.

Ok, ok - I'll out myself as one of the mystery BFPs. I tested positive on three tests at 11 DPO (Answer, CVS, and CBE digital). I kept taking tests because I didn't believe them (still can't!!) I took another one today that was positive. I had my beta blood test today and should get the results back tomorrow. My plan was to wait until I got that result, so I'm not quite ready to graduate yet, if that is ok. I've had lots of crampy stretching and pulling, which I don't get prior to AF, but it still makes me nervous.
Thank you so much for all of the congrats. I'll make sure to update you all once it is official and spread around some baby dust!! :)

Tested this morning ~ BFN! I wasn't really holding out much hope so not dissapointed. The high temp thing was definatly an off thermometer. Picked up a new one last night and todays temp went down to 97.59. So back to my original question.... Is there something I can take to help thicken my lining besides the prenatals that I'm already taking??

chris~n~jen -- sorry about the BFN. I feel good things about this cycle for you (and everyone here) :)
sorry not enough time to do proper SOs, but I have to run to a meeting. . .
**********
Quick update. Went to my OB/GYN for my annual exam. She is having me come back next cycle on CD3 to do blood work and give me info on having a sperm analysis for DH. If both of those come back okay, then the next step is to inject dye to see if my tubes are blocked and to see if my uterine lining is okay . . . I am so impatient, I don't want to wait until next cycle :(, but I know that is just the way it is. The only bad thing is if CD3 is over a weekend (i.e. I get AF on Thursday or Friday), I either have to go to a hospital to get my blood drawn or wait until next cycle. Um, I will be going to the hospital for sure;).

Chris-n-Jen. Like I said, I have had the same problem as you and I have been taking 1 children's asperin a day. I had heard that it helps with lining, and read a story from a girl that was having hers measured as part of fertility treatments and it significantly helped her. I have seen an actual study somewhere on it and not only is it supposed to help thicken it, but reduces the rate of miscarriages. I will have to google it and see if I can find it. I just bought the Equate brand. They are tiny little orange-flavored chewables.

03-21-2006, 09:40 AM
Yeah, CD28 would be much better for our BD schedule, Jess! So I'm kind of hoping I did O that day. But I didn't want to change it just because I "wanted" it to be that day. ;) We didn't get much BDing in for the critical time because we were out of town and I got sick while we were gone. Such bad timing!
Aw MrsR, I totally understand your frustration with everyone around you being pg. I'd be a mess if I knew THAT many people pg or just had babies. My DH tends to tell me the same thing, that I shouldn't get so upset because our time will come but it's really hard. I'm known as the one in the office that always runs to a baby if they are visiting and I hog her or him. He, He. I can tell that TTC has really taken its toll on me because I closed my door when the last baby came in and didn't hold her or even see her. It was just too emotional. I sat in my office with the door closed crying. I never thought that would happen to me but has. I know this probably doesn't help but at least you know that you're not the only one struggling through it. {{{Hugs}}}
Your advice for MrsR was really sweet, Jaime. :)
I'm glad your visit was good, Jenni. Thanks for the advice on my O date. I think I agree with you.
Congrats to you ausi! I hope you get your official confirmation soon! :)
Heather ~ Sheesh, men! :p And they say we're indecisive. That's so funny that he's pushing it back and that was the subject of your show on Dr. Phil. Well not funny funny but you know what I mean. At least you have a plan though.
Boy do I hear you, armadillo. I hate having such a late O all the time. It feels like forever while I'm waiting. The 2WW is actually easier for me if you can believe it!
So I didn't test this morning. My temp stayed the same at 98.2 and I told myself if it stayed high I would test but I just couldn't do it. I don't really feel like I'm pg so I didn't want to get sad by seeing the BFN. My bbs are still tender mostly in the morning and they feel bigger but looking at them in the mirror they don't look any bigger. And I have been known in the past to have tender bbs just before AF so it could be that. If AF is going to come she should show by Friday because I'll be 16 DPO by then going by CD28 as O. If my temp stays up tomorrow though I might have to test. I have a feeling it's going to go down but I still have hope.

The third time's the charm. That's what I've been repeating to myself over and over today. I had my third IUI this morning and have 33 million of DH's little guys swimming around inside me now. They had great motility and morphology, or so said the RE. The IUI itself was fine, again. The speculum was a bit more uncomfortable this time, but that was the worst of it. Now we wait.
Oh, and I get to take an extra prog. pill every day this time. Because I started bleeding even while taking them last month, the doc is increasing my dosage from 2 pills a day to 3 pills a day. Which means I get to "take" the pill at work. Fun, fun.
I also asked about what comes next. If this month doesn't take, then we move to injectables. The doc said I can do that 2-3 times with IUI and if it hasn't worked by then, it probably won't, and we have to consider IVF. That would be in about mid-summer. Hopefully it won't come to that, and I'm doing my best to not think about it unless we absolutely have to.
It's been a really busy day, so no time for SO's right now, except a big CONGRATS to Ausi2b! I'm so happy for you!!!! :D

Man...I think I'm glad that I joined this group! Seems like everyone is getting BFPs! :) Congrats to AUSSI2B, MAYHAM, ROBERTA and SARE!
My temps are definitely dropping, so I'm expecting AF probably on Friday. Blah. Plus, I had an OBGYN appointment this morning and gave a urine sample and nothing came of that. So...pretty sure that I'll be moving on to that lovely "waiting to O" phase again. At my appt., I told her I'd been off BCP for about 2 years now, but just now *actively* trying, and the NP that I saw actually brought up doing a workup now, just in case, since I'd been off of BCP for so long. She spoke with the Dr., and she said that we should give it 6 months of *actively* trying before doing a workup. I was glad to know that they aren't too hesitant to start workups if things don't happen soon. I'm pretty sure that if things don't happen in the next few months, and I really wanted to get a workup, she'd go ahead and do it. Definitely nice to know.
Good luck to those getting ready to test!! :)

You didn't miss anything :). I meant that I had said my AF was really light.

I have no idea about Ovusoft, but FF doesn't make you pay just to chart after your free period. Just all the "extras" are taken away. :) And, I was just lurking in the charting to avoid thread the other day, and there's some pretty good info in the first few posts about the pros and cons of both sites, including costs.

Yay for the high numbers, Jess! :)
Sorry about the prospect of AF, mrs pell.
Boy am I bummed today. My temp is still the same (98.2) and it never does that so I decided to go for it and took a test and it was a big ole negative. :( It really hit me hard. I'm getting really frustrated with this every month. I know that I don't have it as bad as some do and I feel awful for being so negative about things but I just don't see the light at the end of the tunnel at all. All I can think about is the fact that I'll never get pregnant. I guess I'm just having an "off" day. Hopefully I'll be in better spirits tomorrow. Sorry for being such a downer. I promise to be better. :)

Emily (charliezangel), just wanted to give you some hugs on your taking a break decision. I noticed that part of the reason was some of your DH's debt from his first marriage and I just wanted to sympathize with that. I had some first-marriage debt also that will FINALLY be paid off this October (yayayayayayayay). If I didn't have that, we would have TTCed a lot earlier and it was SO hard to wait all this time. Hugs to you.
MrsR, I feel for you w/ all the pg friends. I am the oldest of 3 girls and both of my younger sisters got pg on accident. One of them is pg again with her second and last baby. So not fair that she will be done with her family before mine even starts. Hugs to you.
pocahontas, for Ovusoft it's actual software that sits on your computer. You have 15 free days to try it out then you have to buy it. You would upload your charts from the software so they're visible to others online. One of the disadvantages of it as opposed to fertility friend is that it sits on YOUR computer, so if you are on vacation or away for some reason, you can't update it from anywhere like you can w/ FF. It does have a LOT more options than FF though. I would weigh whether you want those extra options or you want it to help you analyze your charts more. I picked free FF merely b/c I wanted some way to share my chart online. :P
Hi to everyone else. :)
I think I'm about 4 DPO. Yesterday's temp was below what a coverline would have been, but I checked my CP and it's still low and firm like it has been post-O on other cycles. But I am 99.9% sure that I am NOT pregnant this cycle. Our last BD was about 3 days before O w/ a dry day in between. (And I check internally for CM so no chance of some hiding). I'm not going to even test this month though. So I'm not sure if I even need to be moved or not since I'm not testing, lol. If I have to be put into a "testing" week though then I guess put me into 4/2. I expect AF around next Thursday. Time to polish up the ol' Diva Cup again. lol
I am about halfway done sewing the bridesmaid's dress for the wedding I'm in in May. It is coming along very nicely. And my dad is coming up to see us on Friday so I'm excited about that. This will be the first time that any of my family has come to see me and DH since we moved here last May.

Well I am frustrated and confused. My temps rose again today but I am still getting technically negative tests. However, the one from yesterday morning and this morning have a very very faint line...like maybe an evaporation line. What concerns me is that this mornings faint line is equally as faint as yesterdays. What the heck is going on?
I usually get AF on 11 DPO. So I am technically late and I know 12 DPO is still early for a positive test, particularly if implantation occurred later rather than earlier, but what concerns me if the 2 faint faint lines on yesterday's FRED and today's FRED.
Thoughts?
Chris~n~Jen
03-23-2006, 06:57 AM
lattee ~ How long after taking the test did the faint lines appear? If they took a while to appear (10 minutes or whatever amount of time the instructions say not to read it) then they could be evap lines. 12DPO could still be kinda early and would only give you a faint +. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. It's a good sign that your temps are still up! :D
jjsanner
03-23-2006, 08:59 AM
Lattee, perhaps test with another brand. I have great luck with AccuClear and Answer. 12 DPO is very early, and I wouldn't be concerned yet. Did you call your doc? Mabey you could ask to get a beta blood draw?
lattee22
03-23-2006, 09:41 AM
Chris~n~Jen The lines were there before 10 minutes or so. But they are sooooooooooooo faint. I got a light positive with my daughter on 11 DPO and this is MUCH lighter.....so much lighter that I am still considering them negative. I am hoping that 12 DPO is just too early this time around. Thanks for crossing your fingers for me! I really feel like I need it!
jjsanner I might very well test tomorrow with a different test. I used Answer with my daughter along with FRED, so maybe that will be the one. Though I might wait a few more days. Not sure. And I haven't called a doctor yet, as I recently moved to a new state and don't have an OB or mid-wife here yet. I have picked a practice I want to use though. I may call them tomorrow. I just am too scared to call today. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I just am.
Thanks to you both for your support!!!

I hope you have a nice visit with your dad tomorrow, Andrea. And you're sewing bridesmaid dresses? Wow, I'm impressed. :)
I'm sorry you're so confused, Jaime. :( Unfortunately, I think the only thing that will make it more clear is time. I would also try a different brand of test though when you test next, like jjsanner said. I hope you get great news soon! Since the lines were there before the 10 minutes were up, I have to say I'm feeling very positive for you! Even if it was faint, it was still there!
So my temp is still up at 98.2 today for the 4th time in a row. That's never happened to me on any of my charts for that many days. I checked my BBT too and it gave me a different temp after I got up and came back to bed so it's not my therm. Strange! I'm 15 DPO today and my longest LP was 16 so I'm assuming my temp will go down and AF will show tomorrow sometime. I'm going camping this weekend (starting tomorrow) so I won't be temping after tomorrow morning. I'll be completely shocked if I don't get AF over the weekend. I'll be sure to update when I get back but I'm not sure how late we'll be on Sunday. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

2DPO and the beginning of the progesterone supplements. Let me tell you, it's not easy to get any work done while you're scrunched down in your desk chair with your legs up on your desk in an attempt to get as horizontal as possible so that your suppositories don't leak out.
So I got some very good news last night. I think I've mentioned before that DH and I have a really good friend who's an OB/GYN. I go to his practice, but I see his partner ('cause it would just be weird to have him poking around down there!). He's the one who referred me to my RE. Last night DH and he were talking and DH told him what we've been going through with treatments and such, and he said that if we get to the point where we have to consider IVF, don't worry about the cost. He said he'd speak with my RE and make sure that arrangements were made so that we could afford it. That was so good to hear! Hopefully we won't get to that point, but it's good to have that in the back of my head. :)
jnshanna, thanks, I do, too! I'm sorry about the BFN today. I'm not giving up hope for you yet, though!
harmony96, let me know if you'd like to be moved into a testing category. I'm glad that you have a visit with your dad to cheer you up!
lattee, get a digital test. No wondering about evap lines then. And don't despair - 12DPO is still early!

Shanna - I had flat temps for 4 days this cycle and then I had a rise the next day. You also have 2 nice dips. (I played around with my chart and took all the CM reads out (just wrote them in notes if I wanted to put them back, to see what it would do with my O date, it changed it to a more normal time for me) I hope this is it for you. Enjoy your camping trip this weekend. We will probably be heading out to the wilderness in a few months for our last camping trip as a couple. :)

HAHAHAHA!! I know it's probably not funny, but I got a mental picture in my head and I laughed! I hope it works for you, gymwidow!
Shanna- didn't think I should comment on your chart in SWH, so I just wanted to say that it looks great to me! Relax and have a great weekend! Ok, another mental pic of what I would do if the end of my cycle was a camping weekend. I can just see myself trying to get enough light to read a tests I peed on either in the woods or in a campground bathroom!!! The woods scenario is the funniest, though.
lattee22- I don't want to get your hopes up too much in case it's not for sure, but you know you always hear "a line is a line" no matter how light it is! Don't worry either that it didn't get darker in one day like that. It may have something to do with the dye in your test or your urine not being as concentrated, or any number of things. I think you are pg, so a very cautious congrats to you!
10 DPO here. feeling little twinges and stuff...could be PMS. Trying...to...resist...testing:rolleyes: ! I plan on testing Sunday since DH will be getting up at the same time as me and we will go to church together instead of him going to work.
jnshanna
03-23-2006, 08:06 PM
Oh my gosh, you guys! Now I'm kind of freaking out. What if I am pg? Could this really be it? :D My temp has never stayed steady like this before. And it's never not gone down at least a little this late in my cycle! But I don't have the most consistent cycles either so maybe it's doing something weird this month. I'm pretty confident about my O date especially considering my CM really dried up the next day and lasted for 2 days. But I don't have any symptoms at all except tender bbs. I haven't been marking my CM on my chart because I barely have any. My bbs aren't any bigger and I haven't noticed any difference in the nipples. I am very tired though. I've even been falling asleep in the car while DH and I are going somewhere and I never do that. Plus when I get home from work lately I could easily go to bed and sleep for hours. I never do but I find myself "resting my eyes" a lot while I'm watching tv. I just figured I was tired because I just got back from a business trip and it was a pretty stressful one. Wow, I've got to stop obsessing about this. I guess it's a good thing I'm going camping this weekend. At least I won't have the chance to think about it that much. I'll be with a crazy group of 20 so we'll be busy. ;) Thanks for listening to my rambling on and on. I'm just allowing myself to sort of be hopeful but not too much.
Wow gymwidow, that's awesome that you were offered IVF. Hopefully you won't need it but that's such an amazing offer. What a great guy! :)
OMG, I laughed so hard thinking about testing in the wilderness, Jess! To be honest, now I wish I had a test! LOL I hope those twinges are really something and not PMS.

Good luck to everyone testing this weekend.
Gross TMI question coming up........ I have the hardest time figuring out my CM. This morning I had CM that was sorta like EWCM except that it was clumpier (chunkier) and a light brown color. Has anyone had this or know what I would call it? By chunkier I just mean it wasn't smooth at all. It was very thick and clumpy. Any thoughts?
gymwidow -- that's great news about the IVF.
jessica and jshanna -- all my crossables are crossed . . .
Chris~n~Jen -- sorry, I got nothing for you . . .

okay ladies, CD 14 here and a HUGE temp drop today. OPK was negative last night and fertility monitor was only "high" this morning so I don't think I am ovulating for at least another day or two . . . DH went to the NCAA turney last night here in Atlanta and got home after 1. I was asleep and could not force myself to BD when he got home so I am kind of glad for the negative OPK and high reading -- I would be so p*ssed if my monitor had gone to peak today . . .

I'm awful at figuring out CM so I'm not help, Jenifer. But I know somebody here knows.
I just wanted to stop in and give an update on me before I leave for the weekend. All of my hope was for nothing because I woke up to a huge drop in my temp and I'm already spotting. Oh well, we'll move on to next month. I'm actually not as upset as I thought I'd be but that's probably because I'm so busy getting ready to go. I've decided to take next month less seriously and not temp anymore. At least I'm going to try not to temp anymore. :p I have a feeling it's going to be realy hard!
So could one of the threadmistresses move me to the taking a break section? We'll still be TTC but not temping. Thanks! :)
Have a nice weekend everyone!

Chris-n-Jen- I have had that clumpy stuff too. I call it RCCM (rubber cement CM) but I have no idea what it is. I am one that has very little CM,so I thought maybe it was trying to be EW. That's when I bought the Robutussin. I didn't notice any more of it or any EW so I don't know what that means.
Mrs. R- hoping you catch the eggie! I hate it when sex has to be on demand!
I kinda don't know what's going on. I woke up this morning to light brown spotting (on TP only). It's only 11 DPO and AF hasn't been showing until 14-16DPO. I thought your LP length was supposed to stay relatively constant. If this is AF, I would be varying by 5 days from last month. I am figuring it is way too late for implantation spotting. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what's going on with me? What are the possibilities?

Can someone explain to me the difference between sticky and creamy fertility wise? What does it mean you body is doing when you get sticky CM? We all know the EWCM means we are super fertile and getting about to O, usually. I just dont' know what sticky or creamy means or where they fall leading up to EWCM. Hope that makes sense.

I think it goes sticky, then creamy, then EW...but both sticky and creamy aren't considered fertile anyway.

ladies, I am almost ready to call it for this cycle. The spotting continues. Sometimes brown, sometimes reddish-brown. I have had some...tissue, for lack of a better term. Kinda like the clots and stuff you get at the end of AF. It is 11DPO, BFN this afternoon (I just couldn't wait any longer) and I have had 13 and 15 day LPs in my 2 previous cycles. Is it possible that I conceived and miscarried before I ever had a chance to get a BFP? Would that make AF early? This is getting frustrating. I never though getting pg. would be so hard! This makes me really wish I hadn't wasted almost 3 years on BC. Sad girl :(

Sorry to those AF found and good luck to those O'ing or testing soon!
I had my annual exam yesterday and the CNP said it's time to start some testing so she's handing me over to the OB/GYN... she said he's had good luck getting couples pg. She said he will most likely start me on glucophage and/or Clomid. She also had some preliminary bloodwork done... she said she suspects I have insulin resistance so we did blood sugars, prolactin, and thyroid. But, there was a message on my machine today that my bloodwork came back normal. But I see the Dr on April 26 so we'll see what happens. (That's the day after my bday, hopefully he'll get me on the road to a nice bday present!)
Well have a great night everyone!

Hang in there giry! I am sure they will come back!
I am SO confused!!! I went ahead and put in yesterday as "light" so FF started me a new chart. Temp was down yesterday a.m. and I was expecting it to be again this am. It shot back up, though, so I don't know. I have had a head cold, so it has made temping hard. I tried really hard this morning to keep my mouth closed for at least 5min before temping, so maybe that helped.. I just don't know about the spotting thing. I don't want to get my hopes up for it to end the same way it always does. I guess I will give it a few more days and see if it goes away.

Just wanted to drop back in and congratulate everyone who got a BFP this month so far. I've been out of state with no computer access and just returned home.
As for me, AF showed up just as we were about to start our road trip back from FL. I'm due for an annual exam anyway so DH and I agreed it is time to see the doctor to make sure there isn't a problem with either of us. I have a feeling my LP may be too short. Sometimes I will get one as long as 13, but on the average it is 11 and sometimes its shorter. So we will see.
Strangely enough I have 3 other friends all TTC with no luck. Is there something in the water here?

Jess - don't give up just yet. Wait it out a few more days, DPO11 is earlyto test.
Bellefior - I had LP's of 11 days long. If they are shorter than 9 they may want to start you on meds. Hope things get straightened out
Hi ladies! Congrats to all the BFP's and hugs to everyone who's been visited by AF...
Sorry I've been MIA...it's been on h#@* of a week. I'm finally feeling better from my pneumonia, but my mom is an alcoholic who has totally fallen off the wagon & is in really bad shape, and to add to our week, my grandmother passed away last Monday night. So I'm living in a total blur......................
On the charting front, AF arrived yesterday, a week earlier than I expected. I thought I O'd CD19, so was expecting AF middle of next week (I'm almost always dead-on at 13 day LP) But, AF arrived 9DPO this month. I'm trying not to worry about it b/c with being sick my temps were all over the place this month, and I could easily have screwed up my O date.
On the good side, that means we're in to a new cycle - and I'm off all the prescriptions. So here we go again......................
Sorry for no personals....I'll try to catch up later.

This is going to be a quick drive by post since today is my first day back at work after a month long vacation and I am bombarded with work.
I bit the bullet and have an appointment to see my OB/GYN next Friday to find out if there is a medical reason we are not getting pregnant or if our timing just plain sucks. Thanks all! Well I called the midwives office I would like to use and they do not do blood tests to confirm HPTs until 8 weeks. So I made my 8 and 10 week appointments instead. So I guess I have graduated!
Thanks so much to you all! I promise to drop by baby dust after my 8 week appointment! :)

Please take a look at my chart. I am thinking it looks pretty good. Normally I have spotting by now. I can't wait for tomorrows temp.
