Since we don't know which chart is "real" I thought we should do a poll:
Hey all you repeat offenders which chart is correct for you and your first baby?
Then we can see which chart is more correct based on our already born children in our group! At least we know that no matter what one of the charts will be right for each person.

Here is me from our camping trip this January. DH likes to call this my "little red riding hood" picture ;)
and one of the two of us from our engagement pictures
09-13-2005, 12:57 PM
Hummm, they both say girl for me... but then again, a friend did one online also and she came up with boy. Who knows!
09-13-2005, 01:10 PM
Like Everyone Esle my Chinese predictor chart tgal's version of the chart says boy, and kathleen's says girl.
Here is a picture of me at a friends wedding almost 2 years ago. The only non wedding pic I have online
I am adding a column for both charts and filling in what those of you have posted already. So, keep posting away and I will continue to update.
It is funny how many predictors are out there! If there is anything else that you want to add, let me know. I love stuff like this and we are all getting closer to our u/s time!

QOTD: I am going on a business trip next week to Atlanta and they have arranged some "team building" activities. One of the team activities is go-kart racing. Not sure if I should participate in this and I have to let them know by Friday, what do you ladies think? My gut says its probably something I should skip but I don't want to be the only one not participating in our "team building".
09-13-2005, 02:32 PM
Kathleen-As long as you don't go over any rough "terrain" and drive like a wild woman I would think you'd be fine. ;) Plus, if everyone around you knows that you're pg, I would hope they'd be cautious when driving by you and not ram the side of your cart or anything. But I know that's easy for me to say....if I was in your situation I'd be a little leary too.
09-13-2005, 02:41 PM
Kathleen, you'll get a feel for it once you're there. I did Go-Kart racing last summer at Wisconsin Dells that there is No Way I would do now. Maybe just ask the operator of the karts, they will probably know right away if it's safe for a Preggo. If it's safe, go for it, VERY fun!!
09-13-2005, 05:04 PM
The 2nd chart says Girl for me.... So I'm 50/50 too! hee hee!
09-13-2005, 05:59 PM
I'll share a pic...here we are at my brother's wedding over a year ago...I could not find a more recent picture of just the two of us online. I really don't think I've changed much since then though.
09-13-2005, 06:03 PM
Okay, for me, first chart says boy and the second says girl.
I'm going to try to post a pic, I know the last time some of you couldn't see it. I'm using KokakGallery (the old Ofoto), I wonder if that's why?
09-13-2005, 07:00 PM
it's so exciting to read about shopping trips, name choices, and gender! we've all relaxed a bit now that most of us are in the 2nd trimester, yeah! :D
i also have a "stash", but haven't added to it, ok ok except for a couple small things, since we found out. the clothing line i work for has baby girl and size 2 samples so i've been stashing away the cute stuff since i started working there. my boy stash is much smaller.
we will be finding out. although i always thought i wouldn't find out. funny how that works out. dh wants to and i'm really excited to do the nursery. which brings me to gender. dh thought girl the minute we got the +. i find myself visualizing the nursery in girl decor. of course the predictor charts contradict, one says boy and one says girl. so i have no clue. our girl's name is all picked out, and we're still deciding on the boy's. one minute i think i have it, then i waiver. i don't think we're sharing names until s/he is born.
kat your shopping spree sounded like fun! i can't wait to register and start buying some gear!
tuni i'm with you on the stash. it started years ago. i just took a peek at it the other day.
tgal love your names!
iualum we have the same girls name! although ours is short for a longer name, but will call her anna. i know i just said we weren't sharing, but it's hard ;)
kristin welcome! i'm so proud of you for lurking as long as you did. it's hard to stay away from this bunch!
here i am in april while in hawaii.
09-13-2005, 09:43 PM
One chart said boy and one said girl, so we'll see which is right!
This is DH and I in NYC a year ago (no recent pictures since then, we're so bad about taking pictures!)
09-14-2005, 07:06 AM
Here's the only picture of me I could fine on-line!
It's from a little over a year ago with my Rottweiler, Bear.
09-14-2005, 08:06 AM
Wow, MCD, he's huge! Looks like a love though!
09-14-2005, 08:13 AM
Morning all! Its so great to "meet" everyone!
09-14-2005, 08:22 AM
Ok, I was just typing away and stopped for a sec to chat with a coworker, and then I looked back at my screen and my whole post is gone! What the heck???!!
Ok, well I wanted to stop in and give my 2 cents on the prediction charts! I had checked them out when I was pg with DD and they had said girl, which was obviously correct! I looked at it after I found out I was pg this time and they both say boy, which is what I have been thinking it is! I was curious last time so I had plugged in the info for when my mom was pg with both me and my sister, and when MIL was pg with DH, and they were all right! It's kinda crazy how right on it has been for me, so I'm really curious how the u/s will turn out! I can't believe it is only 4 weeks away!! Crazy!! :)
Names~ For names we both like the name Joshua for a boy. I really like the name Braden, and DH does too. BUT our friends have a little boy named Brennan, and DH thinks the names are too much the same! I had never thought that at all, and don't think it would be wierd... What do you ladies think?? Would it make you not want to name your child that?? I mentioned it to our friends and they don't think it's wierd at all, so I will see if I can convince DH! :p For a girl, I LOVE the name Kaitlyn. Dh likes it, but doesn't like the name Kait, as he thinks that is what she would go by. We both like the name Courtney as well though, so we will see... I asked him the other day about names, and he says "Let's just wait until we know if it's a boy or girl and then we can decide." Boys, they are no fun! ;)
I don't mind posting a pic of us... This was taken in March when we went on our cruise (our DD stayed with Grandma and Grandpa!!!) on the first formal night.
Well, it's back to work for me ladies! Hope you all have a wonderful day! :)
Hmm. I had no idea how few pictures I had of me on-line until I tried to find one! Here's the "official" one for my former firm's old website:
...but that doesn't really look like me most of the time. I usually wear glasses, and I just realized I have NO pics of me in my current pair. Oh, well. Draw in these glasses:
, add a few layers & highlights to the hair, and add about five years....and that's me. :D
Or, if it's easier, just picture Tina Fey from SNL. I get told I look like her all the time, and in some pictures I really do. In fact, sometimes when I see a pic of her it freaks me out.....
(actually looks more like me than the firm photo I posted above! LOL).
Holy crap! I just got an email from the baby place, and our cribs have shipped already (estimated delivery is Friday!!!). I guess I worried too much after reading in Baby Bargains about four-month waits for cribs. Oh, well. At least now, if there's damage or if we just don't like the cribs, we have plenty of time to take care of it before babies arrive!
Appetite is slowly improving, day by day. I still prefer not to cook anything, but I've decided that I feel well enough now that I have to start *trying* to eat better. Until now, I've snuck in a few fruits & veggies here & there, but it's been sporadic....and I've been eating the highest-fat diet I've ever had! So I'm going to start trying to make small improvements, day by day.
(She says, after polishing off the rest of last night's pork fried rice for breakfast :D).
The only things I'm really still complaining about are that pain in my hip/butt/pelvis (I think it's bad enough now that I may have to ask my OB to send me to PT), and the fact that I'm not sleeping as well as I'd like.
Speaking of which, we bought the infamous "Snoogle" pillow and I know that everyone raves about it, but it didn't do much for me. Maybe it will in the third trimester, but right now what I need most is support between my knees (and the Snoogle does that, but not as well as the foam wedge pillow I also have) and support in the neck (and Snoogle isn't very good at that -- I'm better off with one of those "memory foam" pillows on top of a regular one). Pains in my left hip (not the same spot as the "other" pain) keep waking me up.
You know, it just occurred to me that if I just chopped my left leg & hip off, all of my pregnancy problems would be gone now! Somehow, that sounds tempting.... :)
Anyway, despite all that I'm feeling much better these days, both physically and mentally. I still think my mental/emotional issues were hormonal (and also due to low thyroid), because they're so much better now. But it scared me enough that I'm going to see someone, just for the sake of establishing care in case I suffer from PPD. (My OB says I'm already at a higher risk because I'm having twins, so I figure it doesn't hurt to have someone I can call if I start to feel any PPD-like stuff later on).
I just wish there was more publicity about PRE-partum depression, though. I really felt like a freak for a while there. There's lots of info about PPD, but just passing references to depression IN pregnancy, and most of what's out there is geared to women who were dealing with depression before getting pregnant (I wasn't). Maybe I'll write a book someday, in my spare time. (Which I guess won't come until the twins are 18).
That's about it. I have another OB appointment next week (9/22), at which point I think she said she's going to do the AFP blood test (to test for neural tube defects, because the CVS I had doesn't check for that).
But no ultrasound. :(
Happy Wednesday, everyone!
09-14-2005, 10:25 AM
Just wanted tp pop in & say hello.
Had a doctor appointment yesterday & the heartbeat was heard yet again, Yeah! Talked to him about being so tired, like, wanting to quit work tired, he just said it will get better.
I already bought some maternity clothes & have worn some, I have gained about 10 lbs & cannot fit into anything.
AS far as gender, of course any healthy baby will do! But, we have SO mUCH girl stuff as we really thought Cassidy would be our one & only, so, of course we have a TON of clothes, so I would like a girl, & actually DH does too. I told him over the weekend that if it is a boy, he will be very naked for awhile!! Or be wearing alot of funny clothes!
09-14-2005, 11:04 AM
Hey ladies! Here is a pic of us from a wedding last year. DH has since shaved his head, so he looks quite different.:)
Itís so great to see everyone and put a face with the posts!
Who is wearing maternity clothes? Iíve been wearing maternity pants for 1.5 weeks now. I am so much more comfy!
The prediction charts are even more confusing for me b/c Iím not sure whether baby was conceived on 6/30 or 7/1. Couple that with the two different charts and it could be either/or, either/or. I *feel* itís a boy though. I have had multiple boy dreams. DH swears itís a girl though. Well, one of us is right!
Another fun gender predictor: http://www.childbirth.org/articles/boyorgirl.html This quiz is fun and contains all the old wives tales. A lot of them donít apply yet, but I keep checking it from time to time.:)
kat Ė I was going to buy the snoogle. I better think more about it nowÖhmmmÖ youíre eating sounds just like mine. I am trying to go back to my normal, healthy habits too!
MCD Ė Bear is adorable!:D
Kathleen Ė I donít know much about go carts but Iím sure if you ask the people they will be able to help you out. Seems like a common question.
09-14-2005, 11:36 AM
JennW, that survey asks some pretty fun (and funny!) questions.
kat, you DO look like Tina Fey! Crazy!
jen71, glad you got to hear the hb! :)
Not in maternity pants yet but I'd say I'm getting close. My pants are pretty tight today. I lost about 10 lbs the first 9-10 wks but I'm definitely starting to gain it back now (quickly).
Ob appt tomorrow afternoon. I'm both nervous and excited. I have this horrible fear that they won't be able to find the hb but I guess every mom has some anxiety like that.
Have a great rest of the day ladies!
09-14-2005, 11:57 AM
Shannon Ė Good luck at the doctor and donít worry. I have that same fear before every single appt.!
09-14-2005, 01:05 PM
Until now, I've snuck in a few fruits & veggies here & there, but it's been sporadic....and I've been eating the highest-fat diet I've ever had! So I'm going to start trying to make small improvements, day by day.
i've been eating the snack size Motts applesauce. it counts as one fruit serving and really easy to get down. i also recently bought the Dole snack size peaches and pears. i'm all about convenience and getting these servings w/ very little effort. you just have to watch for sugar content. there are some that are sugar free.
shannon no worries, i'm sure everything is fine. you can always get your friend to sneak you in for another us. lucky thing!
09-14-2005, 01:15 PM
Hey guys :) I adore seeing pictures of everyone! It's funny how I had such a pre-conceived idea of what everyone would look like, and how off base i was! lol.
shannon, good luck at the dr's :) I have that same fear before every appt too!
kat, that is too funny how much of a resemblence is there!
yey for hearing the heartbeat jen!
jenn, I hear you on how much more comfy mat. pants are! I love them :D
Not much going on for me, i though I was over m/s but have been having some pretty nasty bouts of it late at night recently. Also sooo tired, but I think that's from starting classes again and walking to and from school.
For the veggie/fruit thing, I try to have a V8 when ever I can stomache it, and have lettuce and tomato on my sandwhiches, but other than that veggies are the trigger for the worst throwing up m/s EVA! So i steer clear for now. i am religious about taking my prenatal, so i'm sure baby is doing just fine.
How about a QOTD?
- have you started taking belly shots? If so, how far apart have you taken them and will you share? If not, are you planning to later?
09-14-2005, 01:20 PM
This post falls into the "I-know-I-should-be-thrilled-but-I'm-still-slightly-freaked" category of the gestational experience (but really, what doesn't?).
Got my NT results back. The nurse I spoke to said everything looks great and they wouldn't recommend any additional testing. My risk of Down Syndrome went from 1:550 (for any 31-year-old off the street) to 1:1014 (the risk of a 23-year-old), and my risk of Trisomy 13 or 18 went from 1:957 to 1:10,000 (the risk of a 20-year-old, and the lowest risk possible).
Here's the thing - the nuchal fold measurement was 2.2 mm, which the nurse said was a little higher than they would expect for the baby's size, but still within normal range (> 3 mm).
I should just chill, right? After all, if you look at my last u/s, my kid has a pretty big melon at this stage (so does its dad :) ).
09-14-2005, 01:25 PM
Oooo, yes I'd love to see belly shots if anyone wants to share!!! I keep visiting the Belly Shots thread in hopes of seeing some March mamas.
I don't have any belly shots to share cuz the only thing I can see is the same old pooch that's always been there!
Thanks for the reassurance on the appt tomorrow. I knew I wasn't the only paranoid one. ;)
ellybella, I'd *love* for my friend to work me in for an u/s but I HATE to ask her (like I'm using her, which I guess I am). I always wait for her to bring it up....and lucky me I just talked to her on Monday and she mentioned that I should come in sometime next week! Yeah! :D
ETA: Tuni, results sound great! Congrats! Yes, you should just chill. :)
09-14-2005, 01:28 PM
I will contribute a belly shot!:
ETA...Here's one from 7w0d for comparison. My, have my ta-tas grown!:
QOTD - I've taken a weekly belly pic since I first found out I was pregnant. It's fun to watch the progress.
09-14-2005, 01:32 PM
That's a GREAT belly shot Tuni!!!!! Thanks for sharing!
09-14-2005, 01:35 PM
great belly shot tuni!!! Thanks so much for sharing :D
Right now I'm just waiting for my jelly belly to turn into baby belly, but i know it's on it's way since i've gained 4 inches around my waist!
09-14-2005, 01:49 PM
Kat- I to am having wierd pains in my hips. Today I woke up and could not fall back asleep. If the pain were any higher I would be going to the DR ASAP but right now it feels like the pain you get in you legs when your younger and my mom used to say its growing pains. So I am thinking its just that. But nothing will take the pain away
Tunibell- great belly shots..... Mine is still they same even though you can tell I have packed on some inches.
So I haven't gained any weight since I found out, I have actually lost a total of about 12-14 lbs.... Which is fine as I am heavier to begin. I just changed my eating habits until recently when nothing but chicken nuggets and white chedder popcorn stays in my system.... But I keep eating healthier things thinking my body will get used to them and stop getting sick.
I am sitting here waiting for the Doppler to arrive.......... Am hoping I am luckier then my ob and can hear a hb to put my mind at ease. My dh is just as excited to get it......
Hi ladies, so many posts! Again, I am keeping track of the gender chart info, so keep posting if you haven't already.
I got to see my friend's lill peep, who was born Mon., last night and I couldn't believe how tiny he was. The poor lill guy got circumsized yesterday and was fussing in pain. I felt so bad for him! What can ya do??? After seeing him, I had the most wonderful I am ready feelings. I can't wait.
I am not wearing Maturnity clothes yet even though I bought some. I bought all elastic waist pants and skirts about a month ago, which I think will last for quite some time. Not sure when I'll have to move on to wear maturnity shirts though. Not sure I'll be one to show too early, I was born with a gut and well lets just say I've always been a little too lazy for situps. So, to answer the belly shot question. I may take one at the end when I have one big round butterball to show off, but for now it ain't pretty!
Tuni: Although I am trying not to think or read too much into the tests, from what you posted, I would definitely be a little more at ease! AWESOME belly shots!!!!
Red - I am there with you on the veggies! Not happening at the moment. From time to time I have lettuce on stuff and corn stays down, but everything else forget it. Fruits are another story, I can't get enough. Apples, bananas, oranges, grapes, pineapple, I could go on and on!!! My new obsession grapefruit juice! Also, I too have been having m/s bouts right after eating dinner. I experimented and found that as long as I eat dinner around 4pm and no later, I am good to go, I don't even get home until 7pm, so I have to get really creative. I have a fruit snack later, but nothing big after 4pm. Strange, but it works!
Kat - OMG, you totally look like Tina! About the PP, I am with ya! The discussions on this topic are just now taking place. I think we are going to see more and more information on this in the near future, hopefully.
Shannon - Good luck at the Dr. Everything is going to be just peachy!
Kathleen - I asked my ob about certain things during my last visit. Can't recall where, but someone posted that you shouldn't go boating while preggo. When I mentioned this to my ob she was a little disgusted that information like this gets out. She told me the only thing she forbids is bungie jumping, sky diving, and scuba diving. Other than that, she said use common sense and listen to your body! I kinda like that philosophy, but can honestly say I am more careful than I am normally despite knowing it is OK to be as active as we were before getting pregnant.
09-14-2005, 02:09 PM
12W1D (I think). I was probably this big at around 18-19 weeks with Aiden. Scary.
09-14-2005, 02:38 PM
Hey guys... Not much new going on here! Just waiting to see
if we get out of school tomorrow for Hurricane Ophelia! I haven't
taken any belly shots yet but I keep saying we are going to start,
so maybe I will get to that tonight!
I had a brownie for breakfast so I think pork fried rice has at least a
little more nutritional value than that, if it makes you feel better ;)
Good luck with the doppler when it arrives!
Good luck at tomorrows appointment!
Checking in. I love looking at all the pictures and belly shots! :)
I went to my OB appt. yesterday and I finally heard the heartbeat! I was sooo happy. I gave my Mom the ok to tell the rest of the family. That's kind of scary. :p
I'm a tummy sleeper and I'm now running into sleep troubles because of my expanding belly. I went to Target yesterday to buy a Snoogle, but I couldn't get myself to spend $50 on a pillow. So I bought a soft body pillow that was on clearance for $6 - I love it! I slept so well last night. I also bought a few more maternity clothes. The maternity clothes at Target are really nice. I was really impressed!
Anyhoo, I am wearing maternity tops and bottoms now. Most of my regular tops are form fitting and I've gotten to the point wear they are completely unflattering to wear to work. The maternity tops Iím wearing now are a little big, but I'll grow into them.
Observation - Since this weekend I've noticed some 'flutters' in my lower abdomen, it feels like a muscle twitching very quickly. I don't feel it all the time, but there are times when it is really noticeable. It didn't feel like the usual ligament, muscle, hip, or back related aches that I've been getting, so I was wondering if it was baby movement. Everything I've read said that I wouldnít feel anything until around 18 weeks, so I asked my Dr. if it was possible to feel anything this early. She said that lots of women have felt movement this early in their pregnancies and it was quite possible that *that* is what I was feeling. It's still could be all in my head, but I felt happy hearing that. :D
09-14-2005, 03:13 PM
Tuni - I wouldn't worry about the NT results. I got to talking with my tech during my test and asked how my baby's neck measurements ranked with others, she basically told me that if you see the neck of a down's baby in u/s the measurement and the thickness is V dramatic, they have a neck like a linebacker. She said those measurements are like 4 mm.
QOTD - Like someone else mentioned, I have too much jelly belly that has now been forced upward leaving me with little or no waist and some pouch, so I'm waiting until you see a difference b/w my jelly belly v pouch or they simply morph into one blob.
09-14-2005, 03:33 PM
yby1 ~~Could totally be baby! This isn't your first pregnancy, right?
09-14-2005, 03:37 PM
yby1 - I've been experiencing a similar sensation. It kind of feels as if my belly is a tank of water and a fish just swam across.
09-14-2005, 04:06 PM
yby1 - I haven't really felt that yet- but it totally sounds like what other people have been describing as "baby movement" -that is so exciting!
tuni - my NT results came out similar to yours - although they never told me the exact measurements of the fold - they just said it "looked good." But in my un-professional opinion, it sounds like you are okay.
QOTD - I'm all over maternity bottoms - except for suits. I bought one maternity suit that is pretty sad looking, and then a few skirt suits in bigger sizes - so I can hike the waist up high and there is room for my belly to stick out. Not the ideal solution - but it will work until I get big enough to not have to wear a suit. My office is business casual, but I have to wear suits for meetings and deps and stuff - and I seem to have several scheduled each week for the next few months. Has anyone had any luck finding maternity suits?
Otherwise- I am in maternity bottoms all the time. Maternity tops still look very tent-ish on me, so I bought a bunch of tops in bigger sizes. They're long enough to cover my belly, so for now, they work. Between my belly and my ever growing BBs, all of my old tops now look like belly shirts.
I've been taking belly shots for weeks now, but they are all on my home computer. I'll post them when I have a chance. Here's one of me and DH from our vacation a few weeks ago. Thankfully the black empire-ish waist hides all of the weight I had already put on!
It is so nice to put faces to names!
Hope everyone has a great evening.
09-14-2005, 04:06 PM
Great belly shots! I haven't taken any yet; I should but always seem to forget about it. I need to take them in the morning right after I wake up, because by the end of the day I feel like I'm about 20 lbs heavier! I've always had a bit of a tummy, but I can tell that it's getting firmer and rounder right above my pubic bone.
I think I'm going to have to buy maternity bottoms this weekend. The last pair of regular pants that were still fitting were awfully snug when I wore them to work on Monday. I have some stretchy pants/skirts I can wear, but that won't last too long. I'm 5'10" and already know I'm going to have to order most things off the internet in order to find them long enough.
09-14-2005, 04:45 PM
kdotp, just an fyi- Gap and JCPenney both carry maternity pants in long. I'm 5'9" ;) JCPenney has some stocked in their stores but I've had to order Gap online (I've also got 1 pair off of ebay).
09-14-2005, 06:01 PM
This is DH and I on vacation in Puerto Vallarta this January.
It's fun putting faces to names. And even though I'll probably take this down sooner or later, I wanted to play too! :D
Wow -- this thread is growing faster than my belly these days. :D
Speaking of which: I have been in maternity clothes for weeks now (months?), and as a matter of fact I just decided to order some of the "over the belly" stuff from the Gap. Not that I could fill out that belly yet, but it'll be soon. And the "demi panel" pants I have from the Gap are starting to drive me nuts because they keep falling down.
QOTD: I took one belly shot at around 12 1/2 weeks (right after I really "popped" the first time). I plan to take another one this week. I don't think we'll take one every week, but every couple of weeks for sure.
I've had my digital camera for over a year now and still haven't loaded the software onto my computer to upload the pictures. :o Maybe y'all will inspire me to do that, so I can post belly shots, too. :) Until then, let's just say I am HUGE. And gonna get HUGE-ER.
09-14-2005, 08:42 PM
Quick question for you guys, x-posted from the pregnancy forums...I've been having major massive headaches every night this week, and i'm running out of patience. Regular tylenol doesn't even come close to touching the pain, but I have no idea what else to do! A cold washcloth helps a bit, but only for a few minutes before I'm crying from the pain again. And my m/s is back, so i'm even running to the toilet with this pounding headache, i'm miserable :( Any suggestions?
09-15-2005, 06:04 AM
Red- are you eating & drinking enough? I did not get bad headaches, but daily ones. The NP at the office told me I was not drinking enough water, so even increasing it a little really helped.
Tuni- remember the NT ultrasound is just a screening. I almost did not do mine because I was reading about so many people getting results that were slightly abnormal, & panicked, but everything was fine. Talk to your doctor about it.
Elly- good idea about the applesauce & fruit cups. Those would be good to take to work.
Had my NT ultrasound yesterday. Baby measured 13 weeks,5 days. I thought I was 12 weeks,5 days. Oh well. There is only one day this baby could have gotten conceived so I still think 12 weeks. But I am not saying anything!
Glad to see I am not the only one in maternity clothes. Thought I was abnormal or something! I actually bought 2 pairs of really nice pants at a used clothing store for $17 for both. They fit perfect, as I had to look at the mall at every store & could not find any! Walked into the used store & found 2 great pairs. I just hate to spend too much on them as you don't wear them that often. I also found a pair of corderoy (sp?) at burlingtom coat factory for $20.

red~~Do you drink coffee? If so, go have a cup. I'm so very serious and no it won't hurt your baby. A good friend of mine is having pre-eclampsia issues again (second pregnancy) and had a raging headache (but not a migraine) for almost 24 hours so they went back in to the doc and her BP was fine so doc told her to go get a cup of coffee. Did the trick. Anytime I start to get a nasty headache I just have a cup of half and half coffee and I'm good to go. Even not pregnant I tend to drink my coffee half and half because coffee effects me in a weird way (compared to soda).
09-15-2005, 07:01 AM
Hi Ladies! I had my doc. appointment yesterday and got to hear the hb. I can't believe how fast it was :)
We scheduled my big u/s for 10/4 and I should be finding out the gender of the baby :D.
We also did the walk through for our new house yesterday so it was a busy afternoon. Everything looks good and we are set to move starting next Friday through the weekend.
09-15-2005, 08:10 AM
red, I posted in your thread but phart had a good suggestion too - caffeine. With the m/s you might not be able to drink coffee but if you can get your hands on a regular Coke that might help both the headache AND the m/s. I have been picking up a Coke Slurpee whenever I find myself near a 7-11 :)
Hope that everyone else is doing well! I had another big improvement in the m/s situation last week and am finally feeling semi-human. Actually made it to a prenatal yoga class last night for the first time. It was so nice to be around other pg women IRL. I know no one (except my CC friends, of course!) who is currently pregnant. But it was a little depressing to see that my belly is just as big as one of the women who is 23w. Oh well!
So exciting that some of you might be feeling the baby moving! I am dying for that - I know I am not really going to feel comfortable with this pregnancy until that happens. A couple of weeks ago I was feeling flutters but seems like they turned out to be nothing :( I have been feeling little pinches but not sure what that is.
I have been bad about updating appointments and such - when they happen every 2 weeks it seems like overkill. But I've had the "big" one scheduled for weeks so it's probably time: threadmistress, would you mind upating my appointment for 10/6? Thanks! That'll be the big ultrasound. We are still up in the air about finding out the sex so we will have the u/s tech put it into a sealed envelope in case we come to a decision later on (which probably won't happen until the week before DC is born  ).
Hope everyone's doing well!

QOTD, I've taken a handful of belly shots. I definitely see a difference now, but I still just feel fat. I will post some maybe when I get a cuter belly.
I broke down and wore my first pair of maternity pants today. I put on a pair of elastic pants and I just didn't like the way they were sitting on my hips, so I broke out the maternity pants. They are big and the belt on it is pulled all the way around, so they look a little silly, but they are SO comfortable. I just pulled a long enough shirt over the belt. I'm in heaven, these are SO comfy. I guess I should head out shopping since this is my only pair of maternity pants.
Another question...now that the majority of us are either in our second trimester or almost there, do we want to start a new thread? Tuni, I think you're the threadmistress. If you need help, I'd be willing to help you do updates. I haven't moderated a CC site yet, but I think it should be pretty easy to update. Let me know what you think. You can send me a PM and I'll give you my email addy if you want to share info.
Sorry for the late replies.
phart - Thsi is my third pregnancy, but my first two were miscarriages. I've never felt fetal movement. This is totally cool!
tunibell - that's exactly what it feels like. Isn't that wild?!
Bernie - i'm completely excited! It's such a cool feeling (if that's what it is ;))
Red - I've recently started to get bad headaches too, and I still have m/s too. I've found, as aprilshowers said, that a regular Coke really helps both. :)
I have 13 week belly shots and I'll post them later. I'll try to take my 14 weeks shots today :)
09-15-2005, 11:06 AM
So I've been a little obsessed with nursery ideas as of late... my latest and favorite by far is doing either toile bedding or toile wallpaper (probably on one or two walls only). I saw one yesterday that I loved because it was gender neutral, yellow background, blue design... let me see if I can post a pic.
I have a feeling I'll go with a more plain bedding for cost reasons and then add the toile throughout the room in other ways. A girlfriend and I are hitting the paint store this weekend to look through some wallpaper books for inspiration. What's funny is that normally I'm totally ANTI wallpaper and will only consider paint. Apparently this baby is making me change my tune because I'm really liking this idea! And then if it's a girl (assuming we don't find out) I'll just pink it up a bit with accessories and what not.
I also like this paper...
...but maybe a blue design instead of green.
QOTD: Anyone else having thoughts on what they would like to do?
09-15-2005, 11:07 AM
love the belly shots! i've only taken a couple, and will post some later down the road.
yby1 i had a couple friends experience the "flutter" and they were told (2 different drs) that it's definitely the baby moving. congrats! it must feel so cool. although i think it might freak me out a bit.
i'm still in my regular loose fitting pants. i have one pair of maternity shorts which i'm wearing a lot (5.99 at Old Navy, can't beat that!). i too need longer lengths so Old Navy is out for me for pants. i'm borrowing a friends maternity clothes this weekend, she was pg the same time last year. what a huge money saver. although i know i'll want to buy my own things too, but why is it that every cute pair of pants i like are $100!
iualum can't see your pic! :(
Phart - Great belly shots!
Shannon - Thanks for the info on the pants, I just send regular length back to JCPenny because they were too short. I am 5'9" as well and like my pants long enough to wear heals!
Red - I ditto the caffeine big time!!! Tylenol doesn't work for me either without is! Also, not sure where your headaches area located, but someone may have mentioned the ice pack, which I use on occassion. I know this is going to sound weird, but when I get a headache I try to locate where it stems from. Most of the time, I have found that it goes all the way to the back of my head to my neck. I have been having quite a few of these headaches and sleeping with a heating pad at night helps tremendiously.
April - How fun! I wish we had prenatal yoga, but there is only one class in my town, prenatal fitness and I am attending this evening. You have me fearful of the belly thing now though!
Everything is going well today! I am still walking this week, which is a good thing. Dh and I had our 3 year anniversary yesterday! We had a very nice dinner, but I fell asleep at 8:30pm, how sad is that! I am sure we will celebrate more this weekend.
Oh, and speaking of tight clothes, um, I get up and come to work in my gym clothes, work a couple of hours, head to the gym before lunch then put on my business stuff. Well, this morning I grabbed an outfit that just got back from the cleaners and well, the skirt was quite snug, so I am sitting here with it unbuttoned and the zipper 1/2 down. Thank god the top doesn't need to be tucked in!
09-15-2005, 11:27 AM
Updated to here. :)
heidi suggested we start a new thread in honor of the 2nd Trimester, which I think is a great idea. So I thought I'd throw the "when" question out to the peeps due in the last week of March...
The 2nd Trimester is such a major milestone that I'd like us all to be included. On what date will each of you consider yourselves to have "graduated?"
- Co-Mistress Tunibell (along with the lovely tray622)
09-15-2005, 12:21 PM
Such a hard question, threadmistress:)
I'll go with beginning of week 14 since that makes the most sense to me:)
eta~~That's next Wednesday for me.
09-15-2005, 12:27 PM
Beginning of week 14 is fine with me! Which, for me, would be 9/25/05. What a monumental occasion! :D
09-15-2005, 12:36 PM
I consider it at the beginning of week 13, which was last week for me! I am actually a few days ahead of that original due date, though they havenít adjusted that yet.
I canít wait to feel the flutter! Congrats to those that have!!!
Also, check out www.motherhood.com for maternity clothes. I have ordered some pants off there and so far I love them all!
09-15-2005, 12:37 PM
phart - What date is the beginning of your 14th week?
09-15-2005, 12:46 PM
09-15-2005, 12:49 PM
no...21st. losing. my. mind.
09-15-2005, 01:00 PM
jen71, I forgot to ask you this when I posted before - did your doc say anything about the baby measuring a week ahead? Last u/s I had I was 11w and it was measuring 12w. She didn't say anything and I never think to ask these things until after I leave
09-15-2005, 01:09 PM
aprilshowers, do you know if it measuring a week ahead on more than one angle? FWIW, my friend (the u/s tech) said she usually takes at least 3 measurements from different angles and then averages them out.
09-15-2005, 01:26 PM
Shannon, I'm not sure. This was just my OB doing the u/s in her office so an actual tech would probably have more training & experience with u/s than she does. Like I said, she didn't say anything so I'm assuming there is no cause for concern - it just seemed early for there to be that much of a discrepancy. My original dating u/s (at 6w) was done by an actual u/s tech so I assume that one was correct, even though it was a couple days behind by my calculations (based on O)! I'm very curious to see where the "big" u/s says I'm at next month.
OMG, I just started getting the worst gas pains I've ever had in my life. I had been spared up 'til now - guess I have to pay my dues.
09-15-2005, 02:11 PM
I'm a Saturday week switchover. I want to consider week 13 the beginning of my 2nd trimester, because I doubt I'll feel much different between this Saturday and next! If I consider week 14 the start of my 2nd trimester, then 9/24 for me.
Dear threadmistresses, could you please change my Due date to 3/25, that's the one my doctor wants to use. Who am I to argue? ;)
QOTD ~ Belly Shots ~ Yes, I've been taking belly shots approximately every week. I will probably share, but not yet, because I don't think I've changed much!
Maternity clothes ~ Nope, not in mat clothes yet. Still in my regular clothes. I keep wondering if I'm still pregnant! I guess I'm not as far along as some of you guys though, especially being at the end of the month!
Thanks for some of the compliments on Bear, guys!! :D I love my puppy! (Although he's now almost 5!)
09-15-2005, 02:13 PM
MCD ~~I wasn't in maternity until about 16 weeks with my first pregnancy so don't fret!
09-15-2005, 02:22 PM
Hmm, I think I will mark the 2nd tri at week 13, which will be this coming
I've had migraines *forever* and have had some bad ones during pregnancy.
What Ive done is take the extra strength tylenol and drink some caffeine.
I also try to take it AS SOON as I feel it coming on because if I let it get
bad, there is no stopping it. Really what works best for me is to sleep it
off. I did ask my OB about it and he says you can't take the conventional
migraine medicines during pregnancy so if I got a horribly bad one that I
couldn't handle I'd have to go to the ER and get a shot of demerol. I guess
I'll just suck it up and pass out when necessary. No more shots for this one!
Well, here I was complaining yesterday about the uncertainty of my life
and it looks like we may be moving to Rhode Island the first week of
November. Still not DEFINITE, but looking more and more like it. At least
now I know I need to stop sleeping so much and start getting the house
in order to rent!
09-15-2005, 02:37 PM
Well We have a heartbeat.... I have only heard it a couple times but I am pretty sure its the babies heartbeat and not my own. Mine is a lot slower..... so that is a relief.......
Can you please change my due date to MARCH 24 per the DR. Thanks
Red- I am to getting headaches. When they come on I go take a shower and wash my hear that normally helps. I sometimes have to drink a soda or coffee as the caffeine normally helps...
Tomorrow is my 13th WEEK so I am considering this my first trimester.. On other news I start back to work on monday... Looking forward to it but am afraid of the amount of work I am going to have after being gone a month. or if anyone is going to treat me weird... I work for a big department and a lot of people had to pick up my slack.... so we will see how this goes... wish me luck :o
09-15-2005, 03:15 PM
Lost- Good Luck going back to work tomorrow! Yeah for finding the hb!
aprilshowers - If you are measuring a week ahead that is great. Baby is growing like gangbusters! In my first u/s he measured me a few days behind and that I O'ed on June 20th. I charted before I got pg and there's no way I O'ed that late. June 17th the latest and that would be pushing it. Then again, he seemed to have some problems balancing the dildo cam and operating the computer to compute the measurement. He also told me that within a week of the EDD they don't change it. On my last u/s, after I switched to a mw who sends all her patients to a tech who does baby u/s exclusively. She said I'm measuring on target. So, I'm sure even baby's in the womb are like all people. Some sprout up earlier than others, some are a little late bloomers, but catch up.
I'm not in maternity yet either. But all my pants are too tight in the waist, I've been doing the ol' elastic trick to extend the waist. I wish I could wear sweats to work each day though :)
Over here, things are okay. I wish I could feel the bambino already. I think I feel something from time to time, but then again not. It's not the fish in the tank of water feeling like some have described.
I had a really scary experience today and almost lost my car due to flooding, while I was in it. There were crazy flash floods in NJ this am. I was dropping my DH off at the train station, after than I was heading for the highway, I couldn't go back the way I came because I knew those streets were like knee-deep flooded with water, I went the other way, got onto this street that looked passable then all of a sudden, it seemed a lot deeper, but I couldn't turn back. There was traffic behind me, and I just figured I should just keep the car moving... and suddenly the RPMs ranged on the car and it stalled on me. I could smell the water all around the car and it smelled salty. Fortunately, I never applied the break, just kept the car moving through the dirty water, also double lucky that it actually started and I was able to get the car out of it!!! I'm 5'4'' and the water had to be waist deep. I was so totally freaked out. I can't even imagine what Katrina victims felt like... sorry to hijack this thread!
Also, I had a crazy dream last night. Sorry is this will be TMI, but I had a baby boy that I was trying to BF and as my bambino was suckling, all my milk was like overflowing and dripping down me and the little bambino. I couldn't figure out if he wasn't swallowing or what, but I was little unnerved in my dream and then I woke up. Perhaps this was some harbinger of the fluid that would be all around me later that morning. **shrug**
Did you notice that we are on post #1068??? Crazy huh?
09-15-2005, 06:02 PM
Elenitsa ~~Wow! I'm glad you got through that ordeal OK. Had to have been scary.
It's not the fish in the tank of water feeling like some have described.
The first time I felt any movement with Aiden it was more like going over a hill on a rollercoaster. It's still early for most of us, really.
09-15-2005, 07:21 PM
:D We have a heartbeat!!! :D
I was so nervous going into this appt but I'm obviously feeling much better now!
Elenitsa, I'm so glad you're okay! That must have been so terrifying.
losthoosier, I'm glad you found the h/b! :)
amychris03, wow! It sounds like you have an unpredictable life right now! Will you be moving because of a job?
MrsCantDecide, I totally know what you mean about not feeling pg still!
09-16-2005, 07:01 AM
April- my doctor did not do the US, but a friend who goes to the same practice as me said they won't change your due date if you are within 7 days of it being different. So, I think my due date will stay the same.
09-16-2005, 08:05 AM
It seems most of my LJ friends consider the start of the 13th week the second trimester so if y'all want to start a new thread I'm OK with that. Well, I'd be alright with it regardless (pretty easy going over here) but figured I'd throw that out there anyway
But since I'm apparently in the second trimester now maybe I'll go have that bit of wine I've been craving:-)
09-16-2005, 08:20 AM
Even though I'm not officially in the 2nd tri yet, I'm cool with a new thread too. Or maybe we can start a new one on Monday since by then I'll be 13w1d.
Going on a camping/canoe trip this weekend. Should be beautiful weather...highs in low 80s, lows in 60s. I can't wait for S'Mores....Mmmm.
09-16-2005, 08:51 AM
QOTD ĖNo belly shots for me yet. I want to wait until I feel I have more baby belly and less blob, which is all I feel like now.
MCD Ė Congrats on the date change. We share due dates now!
AmyChris Ė Yay for finding out tentative plans about where youíll be living. RI is a nice place!
losthoosier Ė Congrats on the h/b. Itís such a beautiful sound.
elenitsa Ė I heard about those floods and saw crazy pictures from the parkway on the news last night. Glad youíre OK. That must have been really scary. I also had a weird BF dream a few nights ago. Itís very odd, right?
Shannon Ė Congrats on a great appt.!!! Enjoy your smores. They sound terrific!
When can we expect to feel the first movements?
When do you plan to register? When is it *normally* done?
09-16-2005, 09:24 AM
QOTD re movement - with DS I started feeling movement around week 15/16 right before I went back for my 2nd monthly appt with this one I started feeling movement last week but I wasn't positive it was the baby until this week which I guess is about right b/c I will be 15 weeks on Monday.
QOTD re registering - with DS I registered when I was 20 weeks I think but I didn't do everything at once. We took about 4 weeks to register, going to BRU every weekend with a goal in mind (ex. week 1 we picked out crib, bedding, week 2 picked out swing and exersaucer, week 3 picked out all the "necessities" like mattress pad, extra sheets, first aid, monitor) I found it easier on us to not go nuts and try to pick out everything at once. Now that is not to say we didn't look at other things and start to get ideas while we were shopping but I really wanted to research a lot of things and felt it was easier to do by breaking the registering down into pieces.
09-16-2005, 09:50 AM
QOTD1 ~~I first felt movement with Aiden around 16-17 weeks. And then it was very sporatic and not kicks yet. I'd have to go look at my old WC journal to see when the good kicks started.
QOTD2~~I don't really remember when we registered, to be honest. I did almost all of it on-line with BRU and we went in once to check a few things out. I ordered/paid for our crib and bedding on-line without having seen it in person first.
09-16-2005, 02:39 PM
i'm 13 weeks tomorrow so i'm comfortable with the change.
phart i've felt a couple of those rollercoaster belly dips. hmmm never thought that could be the baby. kind of exciting!
aprilshowers i was measuring ahead at my last ultrasound and the tech told me that your very first or the earliest ultrasound is the most accurate for measurement. because now it's mostly genetics that is influencing the measurement. made sense to me.
lost good luck going back to work. hope it goes smoothly.
elenista scarey! glad you didn't panic and you made it out.
qtod 2 the plan is to register after we find out the sex around 20 weeks.
09-16-2005, 03:12 PM
First of all...
It's been so long since I sat here to write! My life is so blend...so, nothing interesting to report!
School started a few weeks ago and that has kept me busy. I don't even know why I am taking classes this semester, I am constantly tired and never feel like studying...but, it is hard to say no to free school...and I feel obligated to take advantage of it while I can.
I have been so tired and all I want to do is sleep, which is very unlike me. But...with school and work...I have to pick what I do and what I don't. I love to see DH taking initiative to do laundry, for example... It's the first time in our marriage that he has done it...and I appreciate it a ton. I feel bad for him though...having to pick up much of my chores. He is so stressed out with school, work, and the infamous LSAT coming up...
These past few days I have felt a bit better, though -sickness wise, that is- and with lots of energy.... I finally cleaned my house after living in there for a month, I did grocery shopping by myself... I feel like super woman!
I hope my twins are doing well. On Tuesday, I get to go in for my second visit and a second ultrasound. I am far along enough that we will most likely be able to see the gender for both babies! I hope so. I will make sure to drink lots of apple juice to get the kids moving.
This week, I started to really think about all the implications twins entail. The first few weeks....I have no clue how I am gonna do it. I just pray that the Lord will send me good souls to help me through the whole thing....
On the 14th, marked the 10th anniversary of my mother's death. It's unbelievable that it has been that long. I wish she could be around to see me become a mom. She always dreamed about becoming a Grandma... Sadly, there are so many little things about her that I don't remember anymore...like her laugh or the sound of her voice. My mother was a wonderful woman...but, tough as a mom. We didn't have a great of a relationship...but, she was still an incredible individual and is greatly missed!
My MIL is amazing. I love her. She called me yesterday at work just to say hi. She said that every time she calls the house and talks to DH, I am never home. So, she called me here at work because I am much more fun to talk to about baby stuff. She has gone absolutely crazy about these babies. My FIL said that she comes home everyday (literally) with a new little gift for the babies. She is just excited to be a grandma. She has a grandson, but he is so much more a son to her, since she basically raises him....that I can see why she is so excited about my kids. Plus, she also lost the one grandkid she was waiting for, when my SIL died in a tragic car accident last Christmas -she was 6 months pg -.
I know many people have problems with their in-laws, but there is not much I can complain about mine. They are so loving and accepting...and so willing to help us in anyway they can...I am so lucky!
Hugs to all!
PS: May I say you are all good-looking women!
This is us at our wedding... Nov. 2001
And, Us at the Amazon Forest this Summer...
09-16-2005, 04:09 PM
lovin'it- I am to taking the LSAT in OCTOBER.... So tell you Husband I wish him the best as I am too stressing.....
Love you belly shot.... Can't wait till I can play
09-16-2005, 04:24 PM
So it looks like we're on for a new thread on Monday. Sound good?
09-16-2005, 04:41 PM
losthoosier - Bless your heart! PG and having to stress about this LSAT! I will pray for you. My husband is to the point of losing sleep over this. He is a perfectionist and although he has been scoring around the 160's on his practice exams consistantly, he is still very nervous!
Hugs to you!
09-17-2005, 09:34 AM
Nothing much new here.
Eleni- Wow, that sounds scary! Glad you are ok!
AS far as registering- doing like previous said a little at aa time is good. We did not with Cassidy- but birthom was already 6 months along when we started the adoption process. We were so CLUELESS it was not even funny. We had no idea what we were doing or what we even needed. So definitely looking into carseats & strollers & seeing what you like now while you have the time I think wouyld be smart. Not necessarily registering, because it seems like thinhs change, new products come out, etc. Also, I suggest getting on consumer reports to compare car seats to be helpful.
People tend to like to buy a bunch of the smaller, less expensive things. Like hooded towels, clothes, burb cloths, in my opinion. Maybe work people group together to buy one big item. I definitely suggest a sling or a Bjorn. I definitely used a sling & pouch alot the 1st 6 months!
09-17-2005, 08:27 PM
Gosh, it has been a long time since I have made it in here. I started back to work a couple of weeks ago and between teaching, Zoey, being pg, and my MA classes... I feel like I am sinking!
I am going to get caught up though. I promise!
In a nutshell:
According to the docs I am 17wk 1day. The baby is measuring pretty darn close to that, except I know we are about 6 days behind that. I have to admit that days can go before I even remember I am pg. It was defintely not like this with Zo. I feel guilty but am so busy right now. We are still battling bp issues just like last time except much, much sooner. It is looking like I will be taken out of work right after Christmas but I am hoping to get to February 1st. I havent gained any weight but started out about 20lbs heavier than I did when I first got pg with Zoey, so that is good right now.
Our newest name and the one I think will be it is:
Once we have our u/s to defintely confirm it is a girl, I can start to calll her by her name :)
BBL... dinner time :D
Drive-by with a request to the threamistress(es):
Could you please include a link to this thread in the first few posts of the new thread? Thanks.
All is well...overdid it a bit today (we hosted a BBQ for a few college friends & their kids) and tomorrow I'm hosting a poker game....but thankfullly I won't need to clean again. :) My appetite is almost entirely back (I even had sweet things for the first time in months!). Have been forcing myself to eat a few veggies & fruits per day, and to try to cut back on the bar food. Just takin' baby steps to return to healthy eating...

I think that my infomation got overlooked so I will post it again (this time in color as I was supposed to do in the first place)
CC Name: klm2klh

Am feeling like poo :( I'm not sure if i've aquired a cold from my lovely
kiddos that I work with or if I have allergies (I'm thinking its allergies
because I was outside all day selling stuff at an airshow), but I can't
breathe out of my nose and my throat hurts. I think being out in the
heat all day and on my feet for a large portion of that didn't help
We'll be moving because of DH's job. He's in the navy. We knew for
a while that it would be a last minute move, but i'm still stressing out

My first belly pics
09-19-2005, 07:34 AM
ajb524, definitely seeing some growth there! :D How fun!
amychris03, I'm sorry you feel like poo. :( I know what you mean about overdoing it though. I went camping over the weekend and I'm sure I'll be playing catch-up on sleep for the next week!
klm2klh, I'm sorry you got overlooked. :( Hope all is well with your pregnancy!
My friend is working me in for an u/s this afternoon! I'm SO EXCITED!!! :D
09-19-2005, 09:25 AM
Wow Ladies, Happy MOnday!
I love seeing everyone's pictures! I especially love the belly shots! Sadly I haven't even taken a belly pic yet! I have been so busy. I am putting it on my list to do tonight b/c tomorrow I leave for Atlanta and I won't be back until I am almost 16 weeks! I just can't belive how quickly time is going. With Alex I took belly pics every week starting at 9 weeks and here is it I am 15 weeks along and haven't taken a single pic.
ShannonGH How fun, an u/s today! I just love being able to see the baby and how much s/he as grown.
ajb524 love the belly shots!
amychris03 I totally feel your pain on the allergies! Mine have been really bad this past week and especially this weekend! The only thing that I can take that helps is Benadryl but that puts me to sleep so I have only been taking it right before bed so at least I can breathe while sleeping.
kat sorry you overdid it but the BBQ sounds fun! Hope you got to at least enjoy yourself this weekend.
tray622 Boy you have been busy. Love the name you posted, sounds very "girl" and I just love feminin names like that.
jen71 I totally agree that people tend to buy lots of the little things, and it does help and is needed but we got so many clothes!!!! Just now that Alex is over 1 year have I had to go buy some onsies, a pair of pants and a couple shirts for fall.
lovin'it love your pictures! You are so lucky that your DH is helping out! That is a great sign that he will be a great father and pamper you when you need it after the babies come!
losthoosier good luck on your LSAT! My DH took it and said it was the hardest test he had taken. I guess he said it can be confusing but that the more you practice the easier it is.
My DH took it and said it was the hardest test he had taken
I take it he hasn't taken the bar exam yet? :D :D :D

LOL Kat, I was going to say the same thing. :D
Great belly shots ladies!!!
Allergies, OMG, I haven't had allergies this bad ever. I have always been medicated, so I normally breeze through with only a few sniffles. Not this year, when I start sneezing I just can't stop. I feel for the rest of you that are experiencing the same episodes.
So, time is starting to fly for me. The next two weekends are booked with a bridal shower and bachelorette. Then two weeks after that the wedding will be here! I have been busy getting my share of things ready for these events, which has been fun but exhausting. I have been having itty bitty bouts of ms here and there, but other than that, I am doing fine. Definitely able to eat more than just carbs. I have to run and get blood drawn for the quad test this afternoon.
Other fun stuff!
Started looking for cribs over the weekend. I really want a iron crib, but still have yet to find an inexpensive one. I received my maturnity clothes order from JCPenny and had to return everything. Their measurement charts were a little off, so I needed to drop a size. We also had our 1st interview with a doula yesterday and that went very well. I am amazed by how much of her services she provides compared by how little she charges. We really liked her and can see working with her, but are looking forward to meeting other doulas to see how they compare.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Wow, I have a lot of catching up to do in here! I was out of the office for a week of training and didn't have much time to check in.
I think I felt the baby last week. I was reading a newspaper and sitting really still/quiet and felt a little flutter low in my belly on the left side. It's the same spot where we picked up the heartbeat a few weeks ago so that helped to convince me. It was the most reassuring little flutter. Melted my heart. In other baby news, I have an OB apt tomorrow morning. I'm really anxious to go and find out when we'll schedule the ultrasound. I still haven't *seen* my little one yet. Otherwise, no complaints here. The second trimester is treating me very well and I even managed to stay up until 10pm twice last week! Whoohoo!
It's so nice to see you ladies, I love the pics. I don't have any picutres of DH and me on my work computer except a couple wedding photos. So here's one of us just over a year ago...
Belly shots...well we took one at 6 weeks with every intention of continuing weekly. Here we are 10 weeks later with nothing since. Hopefully I can remember to have DH take one of me tonight for comparison.
Well I guess that's all I can update on for now. I hope you all are doing well and having a good Monday.

Quick drive by!
tgal DH & I want to look into hiring a doula as well! Glad to know someone else is in the same club!
Also, I'd be very interested in seeing what you come up with the iron cribs? All the cribs I have seen tend to be too mission or too country. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I was hoping for something else. If you wouldn't mind sharing, I would be a very happy camper!

Thanks for the well wishes on the LSAT... on bed rest I got lots of studying done..... so now its just relaxing and refreshing up before the big day.
I hope all is well with the rest of you...
Good luck on the LSAT, losthoosier! The most important advice you get is to make sure to sleep well the night before! Not so easy sometimes in pregnancy, but hopefully you'll get plenty of rest beforehand.

I was so excited to hear about the Old Navy sale that I went right out onto the web... their site was down for maintenance! Oh well, I'll just have to check back later!
Had another appt on Friday that went well, nice strong HB that Matt was able to hear too! (He missed my last appt because of work.) It's hard to believe that my next appt will be the halfway mark... makes me get a little stressed though I'm trying to stay calm about it! I think I'm going to start calling around to daycares this week and find out what the protocol is for visiting, cost, etc... I'll keep you girls posted!

For those interested in the Old Navy sale, I went in last night and all their maternity stuff is 25% OR MORE off. Also, all baby stuff is on sale too. The baby sale is even bigger than the maternity sale. Enjoy, FWIW!:)

Got some cute u/s pics yesterday!
Profile with chin up and hand near chest
Foot w/ all 5 toes
It is so crazy to me that this little perfect baby is inside of me and I can still wear my normal clothes. I know that probably won't be for much longer though. BTW, JennW, thanks for the heads up on the Old Navy sale!

Love the pics Shannon, so cool! Though I've grown a bit I still find it hard to believe there is something in there... maybe once I round out a bit more or in another 4 weeks when the big u/s is scheduled? ;)

ShannonGH - you get the best U/S pics. Those are awesome! I was in my regular clothes until just this week, and this is my second pregnancy! I just started wearing maternity clothes to work yesterday (14w2d). Before you know it you won't be able to see your toes.
Fantastic u/s pics! You've got me really excited now, I am guessing I'll be asked to schedule mine at my apt. on Friday!
Elenitsa - Have you started looking for a Doula yet?
I hear you on the cribs! I am not too thrilled with the different styles out there. I do like the iron cribs, but the difficulty is finding something that doesn't have a white finish. I found one at JCPenny, but of course they don't have it on the floor, so you have to order it to see it and by the looks in the picture, I am afraid it is going to look like plastic! So, back to the search, I'll post pics should I come across anything interesting!

Great U/S pics Shannon. I love the ďthumbs upĒ one! I canít wait to get another u/s and be able to see a real baby in there.:) It is truly hard to believe at this stage, I agree!:D
