This initial information is copied from the College Basketball thread. If it's okay, we can use this thread for questions and chatting about our brackets and use the other thread for chatting about teams and the tourney generally. :)
I've got us set up with a bracket competition on Yahoo!. I think that's what we did last year, and it's pretty easy to use.
Here are the details:
Group ID# 42765
Group Name CC March Madness
Group Password constantchatter
First things first, you need to select a team name. My Team name is KULawGirl. It can be anything you want, as long as it's not already taken. If you use something other than your CC name, as I did, please let us know here so we can connect you up.
Go to this link:
Yahoo! Sports Tournament Pick 'Em (http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/)
and click "Sign up".
Once you have your team name, you will need to use the Group ID# and Group Password to sign up for the group.
Go to this link:
Join Private Group (http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/men/register/joinprivategroup)
A little more about the contest:
Your goal is to accumulate as many points as possible by correctly picking the winning team in each of the games played during the college basketball tournament. Each correct pick earns points based on the tournament round, and the player finishing with the highest total wins each group.
You can make and change your picks as often as you like, but your final picks must be submitted by five minutes before the first game tips off on Thursday, March 17.
Let me know if you experience any problems and/or need any assistance. You won't be able to start making your picks until the teams are announced tonight, but you can go ahead and sign up. :)

All right, I'm in as lawyergirl25 (pretty original, eh?). Diana, you will be happy to know that I put Kansas in the Final Four, although they ultimately lose to Duke (your National Champions). Duke wins over North Carolina, who managed to knock Villanova out of the whole thing with a last-second 3-pointer in overtime.
I'm clairvoyant. ;)

I'm really suprised at how many non-KU people are picking us in the Final Four. I hope their predictions are right. :)

so, who do y'all have going into the Final Four? I picked Duke, UCLA, UConn and BC.
I'm bummed Memphis (my hometwon team) and KU (my alma mater) might have to play. That's never happened before :( I chose Memphis. I think they deserve it. John Calipari is a great coach and the city and college don't get props as often as KU does. Hope my fellow Hawk fans understand ;)
eta: D, maybe a mod can changed the title of the thread so we can talk about the tourney in general?

Traitor!!!! ;)
I have KU, Duke, Florida, and North Carolina. I feel okay about these picks, I guess. The only one I'm iffy about is Florida, but I didn't want all four of my picks to be obvious, if that makes sense.
We do a contest in my office, too, so I may do my picks for that slightly differently. I'll let ya know. I actually need to get to work on those. :)

I did mine differently too. I've got two brackets for the office pool. Here are my Final Fours for all 3 of my brackets:
CC: Duke, Villanova, Kansas, UNC --> Duke vs. UNC --> Duke
Work #1: Duke, Villanova, Gonzaga, UNC --> Duke vs. Villanova --> Duke
Work #2: Duke, Villanova, Mich. St., UCLA --> Duke vs. Villanova --> Duke

I'm in.
I always pick my teams based on a complicated system of picking the schools that people I know went to, or if I don't know anyone who went there, based on school colors and mascots. (In the past it has worked out well for me because I know lots of people who went to Big 10 and ACC schools.) This year was weird for me because I only know one person who went to any of the schools in the Oakland bracket, so I feel like it messes up my system.
I have Duke, Memphis, UConn, and Ohio State in the final four, with Duke vs. UConn in the finals, and UConn winning it all.

My final 4 are: Memphis, Iowa, UConn & Ohio State, with UConn winning it all. Since I am a big Wisconsin Badger fan, I have all the Big Ten teams going as far as I possible think they can. Unfortunately, I don't think the Badgers will get past Villanova, but at least they should win tomorrow against Zona.

I'm in! (same name as here) :) Ahhhhh...this is one of the days that I look forward to all year long...the beginning of the Madness (sorry, I don't count the "play-in" game the other night)!!!! My Final Four: Texas, UCLA, UConn, and Nova. Championship Game: UCLA vs. UConn...and the Huskies cutting down the nets!
And as I was filling out my bracket, I was looking for some first round upsets, and after reading this...
Go UNC-Wilmington! FEEL THE TEAL!

I think if they played better in the Big Ten tourney and the last couple games of the season they would have gotten a better seed. Do you know if Ray Nixon is going to play or not? I know he sprained his ankle the beginning of the week. He didn't practica at all and most of the time he was in a boot.

Ugh, just lost my post!
I'm in under the same name. My picks are bad, but that's because I procrastinated until just now to look again at the brackets. :sigh: So I have my first thought picks so I could get in in time, and then I had time to change up a few that I screwed up on.
Right now my Final Four is Texas, Gonzaga (as long as Morrison is healthy), UNC and BC. Championship between Texas and UNC, with UNC winning. I wanted to change that, but it's too late now, lol!

I got 12 out of 16 so far, which is a lot better than I was doing at this time last year. I missed with picking Oklahoma, Seton Hall, Marquette, and NC Wilmington. Luckily I didn't have any of those teams picked to go any further than that.
Right now it looks like Arkansas and Wisconsin are losing. I never seem to pick well with the #8 and #9 seed matchup.

Yeah KU losing hurt my bracket, and so did Iowa. Not to mention my Sooners choking again. :sigh: We're so inconsistent. We're a very very good team, but we can't seem to keep it together all the time. Very frustrating. Now I'm even more annoyed and pissed at De'Angelo Alexander and Drew Lavendar. If they had stayed instead of ditching because they couldn't start every game, then we could have gone deep in the tournament I bet.

Hell no! I had KU. :( I can't believe how piss poor the committee did the seeding this year. Both Wichita State and Bradley should have been seeded higher, but weren't because they are in a small conference (Missouri Valley). It's so not cool. Not that that is the only reason Bradley beat KU, of course. They are a more experienced and mature team, too. But they are not a 13.

Let's Gooooo Mountaineers!!!!
I've thrown my bracket to the wind, and I'm just focused on supporting my team! And of course, it's a GREAT weekend for this 'Eers fan, when Pitt, OSU, UNC, Kansas (Sorry Jayhawk fans, but one of my cousins attended KU. And we are very competitive when it comes to our basketball teams.), Indiana, etc. all fall short of the Sweet Sixteen! It could only be sweeter, if BC had flopped as well. The Cats *almost* pulled it out over UConn...Sparks gave every ounce he had in that one. I was very proud of their showing against the Huskies.

If Florida doesn't win tonight, all of my Final Four picks for our contest will be out!
In my office contest, I picked Texas instead of Duke, so at least I know I have them. My whole goal with the office contest is to place as close to the middle as possible. If you win, you have to use the money for our office lunch so we aren't gambling ( ) and if you lose, you have to plan the lunch.
So it will be kinda funny if I do better in that one than in our Yahoo! contest because I actually tried to do well in this one! :D (Well, except for picking KU to win, of course! ;) )

That's pretty cool. So if you're in the middle you get to just enjoy the lunch? Nice. I hope you end up in the middle!

It really is nice! Everyone brings something to eat, but otherwise you just show up and GRUB. But I've got bad news - We got our updated standings this afternoon, and I'm tied for fourth! Noooooo!!!!! :p

So, did anyone have George Mason in the final four? I think I'm rooting for them from here on out :).

Nope, I sure didn't! But I'm definitely cheering for them. They have been so amazing and determined. I'm impressed as hell! :)

I definitely didn't (man my bracket is completely dead!), but I'm sure as heck cheering for them now!

Is it just me, or was that game and the subsequent celebration totally boring?

No, I thought it was pretty boring, too. I'm guessing only Florida fans found it truly exciting. :)

Wow, I thought for sure I'd be near the bottom. 11 isn't too shabby given the number of games I lost!
Congrats JillyB!
