I didn't see a pomeranian thread, so I thought I'd start one. Does anyone else own one?

We have a pomeranian named Minnie. She's right at two years old. She is such a sweetheart but also a complete mess! :D

Wow, your Minnie looks a lot like my Chloe, but in a different color. Their facial features are almost the same and their coats are about the same length. What's Minnie's personality like?

If I got a dog, this is what I would want, I think. We know someone that has two and they love them. They don't seem to be yippee dogs and don't smell, which I like.

We had a pom while I was growing up. His name was ALF (yes after the TV show). I loved that dog. We had to put him down 6 yrs ago (long illness) and my parents got another pom. This time they got a female, Jesse. I was shocked at the personality differences between them. I thought all pom were the same. So not true. :) IE: ALF hated cats and Jesse loves them. So strange!

If I can find some pictures, I will post them. I would love to see other poms. I think they are so cute!

Has anyone had their pomeranian shaved before? :) We're thinking of getting Minnie shaved or her hair cut at least some. She is shedding like crazy (big chunks of hair).

My mom shaves her pom's fur in the summer. I don't like the looks of the dog after she has done it but I guess it really helps the dog, especially during the summer months. She just puts the dog on a table and uses an electric razor and shaves away. At first Jesse didn't like it but now she use to it.

Don't have any anymore, but did own 2 poms prior to getting my yorkies. I owned a male named Teddy and a female named Nicole. They had babies (not planned) and we sold the babies and found homes for those 2 when my FH's dog started getting aggressive with them.... I love the breed and will definitely have more pomeranians.... Gotta show some pictures now

:) Aw... all of the dogs in this thread are adorable. My mother has a pomeranian who we've come to love despite her love of barking. :)

I don't know if anybody's visiting this thread anymore but cute pups!

My hubby and I are adopting two pom boys and they are coming to our house this Sunday. I'm VERY excited and was wondering if anybody has any advice...

How did everybody housetrain them? I have lots of different methods, but I know that toy breeds can be a little more difficult. Anybody know a good method? Any other advice for the breed?

Here are the soon-to-be-our boys. Aren't they adorable!??!?
