Did a search and could not find any previous posts...

While at home with my sick child, I got "sucked" into watching an informercial called Core Secrets. It's workout DVD with yoga ball and it looked interesting.
I am now looking for a miracle cure but thought this looked like a good way to get some exercise in after the kiddo goes to bed. Has anyone tried it ? Liked it? Hated it? Too cheesy?

I've never done Core Secrets, but from the way it sounds you would be using a stability ball. There are lots of different things you can do on the ball (crunches, stretches, yoga, even using it in place of a bench press, etc) and the DVD might give you some good exercises. Think of it as a way to improve your balance and tone muscles.

I had never heard of it, but just Googled it after reading your post, and it looks like a good program. Most anything that keeps your heart rate elevated while working the muscles is going to give you good results.

I also looked it up on collagevideo.com, which has user comments and reviews, and it seems to have gotten good comments across the board.

I bought it (yes, I got suckered into it). I think the exercises are good ones. My problem is that I was very used to working out in a gym, so I found the first two videos to be too easy. I cancelled my trial, but the CS people told me that later videos are a lot more challenging. I haven't bought any more ideos to see if that was true.

I still use my ball all the time, though!

I love Core Secrets...it is the only at home workout that I have ever found actually make me sore and keep me going. Looking at Brooke Burke is enough motivation to get my butt on the ball.

I usually rotate the Advanced core dvd, Butt Blaster and Ab Assault.

I just watched the infomercial too and though it looked like a pretty good workout.

Smittenk- Are those the dvds that come with the original kit or are they add ons? Are there any other dvds that are really good? TIA! :)

Hey kitkat

I bought the middle offer on their website:

http://www.coresecrets.com/buy_now/buy_now.php

The one for 59.80 has the advanced, bun battle and ab assault.

HTH!

Thank you!

I am thinking of giving the basic trial a whirl and see how it goes. I agree that just watching BB would be an inspiration!

As far as the ball, is it relatively easy to inflate/deflate? (to put away when guests are visiting!) :D

I don't usually deflate it but it easy to do. It might take a couple of hours to fully deflate though.

Just got sucked into the infomercial too. :) They have stability balls at the gym so I'm thinking I should just steal some of the moves off this commercial and try it. I would buy this DVD right now but I don't have room to workout with a large ball at home and besides, I like going to the gym.

Any advice from people who use the stability ball as to how to get started at the gym. Don't want to look too much like a fool. :p

My brother and his girlfriend use the Core Secrets Abs DVD with Brooke Burke. They have really had good results and their abs look great! It makes me want to join them!
They use an excercise ball that they ordered from the internet and inflated it. I will ask them if they have any tips!

The only thing that I use the ball for is to do crunches and I also just sit on the ball and lift dumbells (just sitting on it helps with balance and strengthening your core). I wish I knew more as well!
