I think he was just trying to show me up for my earlier posting in the "What do you do with your dog while you're at work?" thread.
I posted that he had recently gotten much better about his behaviour while home alone.
Hmmmm, guess not! :D

I wish I'd had a camera the day I came home to the Great Bed Destruction of 2003:
Maggie chewed a hole in the comforter, and comforter stuffing was everywhere. She chewed through the flat sheet, the fitted sheet, the mattress pad, the bed skirt, chewed a corner of my BRAND NEW box spring. But none of that compared to what was just a few feet to the left of all of that-a 3 foot high pile of feathers from the feather bed.
It was a good thing she was so darned cute.
(She lives with grandma & grandpa now. Rusty doesn't chew stuff, so Maggie doesn't chew stuff. Rusty pees outside, so Maggie pees outside-Maggie see, Maggie do. She's a whole different dog now.)

OH those days, we have those days sometimes and it pisses me off! The last thing you want to do when you come home from work is clean!

Holy freaking crap! Okay, that pretty much reminds me why not to get a dog. I'd much rather clean up a little hairball puke than come home to that! The Monica in me would have a breakdown.

OMG...sometimes the only thing saving them is that they're so darn cute.:D
Thanks for sharing that!

Oh yeah, I remember coming home to that! I put him in his crate RIGHT AWAY so that I wouldn't kill him! The little bugger. It's a good thing we love them so much!
Looks like someone was hungry ;)

When our Weim puts his ears back, we call it "crazy ears." He does that when he's not listening and when he's running around being a bad dog. It looks like your Weim had a case of the "crazy ears!"
They can be sooo sweet and then they can just drive you nuts!

This is a post from my LJ about our crazy-obsessed-with-the-trash dog.
Sunday afternoon, leo got into the bathroom trash again. He chewed on two pantiliners, so I picked up the trash and put it on the shoe holder in the entranceway. I didn't think about it again, b/c DH is the trash taker in the family.
Yesterday, I came home late, and I had my hands full of groceries. I heard leo at the door and felt bad about getting in so late. I had to pick the groceries back up, and he ran outside. I really felt bad then, b/c he never does that. So, we go inside to get his leash on, and I see something on the futon. I said 'leo, how did you get another panti...', and at the same time, I turn into the living room to see that he wasn't running outside b/c he had to pee really bad.
He had gotten that trashbag and ripped it open, then spread DIRTY tampons, liners and the toilet paper they'd been wrapped in all over the floor. He'd ingested several parts of DIRTY tampons and liners!! Then, I see that he gotten so sick and scared about what he'd done that he'd shit on the couch with the only saving grace that it was on a blanket that we leave for him. I go into the kitchen table area to see that he'd eaten so many tampons that he'd thrown a couple of them up on the floor.
I have no words for what this all looked like. It was horrible. He had run to the bedroom door, which was closed and peed. I just started screaming about 'how could you do this to me?' (really realistic, huh?), took leo outside where he shit immediately again, then I put him in his crate. DH had left a message on my phone, so I knew he was on his way home. I just went outside to wait for him. He drove up right after that, and I met him at his car just saying 'follow me'. We both just stood there staring at the mess in disbelief. I did not get mad at DH b/c I forgot to remind him, but secretely, I blame him for not taking the trash out. I wanted to take a picture, but it would have been WAY too NASTY.
We're leaving leo in his crate during the day for a while. He has not gotten in the bathroom trash in so long. That same night during the night, he got my lipgloss out of my purse and chewed on it. I forgot to hang it up, so I didn't even let leo know that I knew what he'd done.
Since then: Two nights ago the bathroom trash was getting about 3/4 of the way up and at 4am I got up to pee to find kleenex's shredded up on the bathroom floor. I really don't know what is up his butt that he is really crazy for the trash right now. We already have an office trash can in there so it's taller, but now we also have to put it up on the counter during the night. Eventually we'll have to get a covered can, but DH thinks (as do I) it'll look funny.
I have a hard time being really mad at him b/c I know he is probably reacting to that we've been busy lately. Plus, both DH and I are really stressed right now, so I know leo is feeling that from us.

Ah- the memories of Maverick doing all that. When he was very young he was in a crate when we went out. But DH felt bad because we had another dog who was older and allowed to roam. So we started allowing the other one to roam also. I can't tell you how many pillows, comforters, pens, and paper he went through. The older dog was put down many years ago, so it has been just Maverick for a while now.
I finally had enough of him doing damage each and every time we went out. So he was confined to his bed in the hallway with the living room and bedroom gated off. He was allowed to use the hallway, bathroom and kitchen. He is a much better doggie now and we allow more room to roam. The bedroom is still blocked because I don't like him lounging on my bed all day. Thank the Lord he is so good and doesn't get into anything anymore.
Oh- I am waiting for a new one though. Can't wait for the craziness again. :) LOL

Heh.
Honestly, I had to laugh at the mayhem. He looked so sheepish, and I guess he really needed some carbs in his diet, seeing as how he attacked the entire bread loaf and 2 bags of english muffins!!
The worst part is, this was all while hie BASKET MUZZLE WAS ON! So he did all this tearing with his paws (soft claws be damned).
I'm making baby blankets for some friends and Blue is eyeing the ribbon with a gleam in his eye. Better go clean up. This dog forces me to be neat!

It's so hard not to laugh at them - they're just so cute!!
Beau has tried to eat some of my cross-stitch string in the past. Forced me to get keep all my string in a bag instead of out in the open! Much too tempting.
Paper goods are always a favorite in our house - kleenex (used or otherwise), papertowels, napkins, etc. Close favorite are dirty socks and washclothes, although this morning it was a pair of hose that I had just put in the laundry basket.

YES! Blue loves socks (dirty or otherwise), paper stuff like you described (store receipts are a big fave, and of course, the ones I actually need are the tastiest!), and slippers. In the 7 months that we've had him, I'vfe gone through about 8 pairs. I keep them in a drawer, but if I forget, even for a second, and leave them out in the open, they're gone and chewed to molecules in the blink of an eye.
The hamper is his fountain of youth, his mecca. Anything we put in it, he digs out and carries around the house in his mouth all day. So now we keep the hamper in a closet.
His all time doggie crack, however, is sticks. And after he feasts on them, he throws them up. Inside the house, of course. And the other obsession is obsessively liking silk stuff, like my dupioni pillow shams or my silk-covered sofa cushions. He leaves HUGE wet spots on them. Oy.
By the way, katmg, in this month's Real Simple magazine there is an article from a writer who adopted a Weim, and it made me laugh and cry to read through it. I kept saying (aloud) "Yes, that's so true!"
I highly recommend reading it, for any Weim owners.

I'll have to go pick it up! DH and love hearing about others' experiences with weims. They are so funny!
Beau's not much on sticks - Blue can keep them and Beau will take all the dirty socks. :D

Is it bad that I'm happy I'm not the only person walking into a mess after work?:p My little (and she is little-as in small) puppy has taken to pooping in the kitchen where she's gated off when we're gone. Now, she has puppy pads-she uses them. She used to use them. Lately she poops by the gate and proceeds to jump in it until its sooo smushed into the tile, I have to use a plastic knife to scrape it up. Grrrr.
Did I mention she's the cleanest puppy too? She gets a bath at least three times a week! Today, after twenty minutes of kitchen clean up and bath time she stood on my bed, looked at me and peed.
The sad thing is, I think she's mad because after a two month illness, my fh just went back to work. Ahhhh!
