What does the "M" in MBFP stand for??
CD26, 11DPO. Still no AF. BFN this morning.

M= Mystery.
I can't find them! Ahhh.... Boo, I can never find them.

How do you find a MBFP???
Silly newbie questions coming out. :o

03-16-2006, 07:11 AM
Well, I think I'm the wrong person to ask. The only place that I look is the list on the first page of who's O'ed, and who is testing when.
But, obviously I'm not looking in the right spot either. ;)

8 DPO today and a dip below the coverline - FF says it is possible implantation. I've never had that before! One one hand I'm very excited, on the other, I'm so nervous that being so sick could affect a baby.
Deanna - Thanks for responding - we are cycle buddies! I'm going to try to hold off until I'm late. But worse case scenario, I might test on Sunday. We'll see. If I am pg, I want to call my OB right away to let him know how sick I've been. I have told my doctors that I might be pg. The first doctor prescribed me amoxicillin (and my uncle is an OBGYN and I double checked with him). The second doctor (for the second bout of strep) said that he doesn't want me taking antibiotics if I might be pg. He told me to wait 48 hours and take a test, and if I am not PG then to take Augmentin which is NOT ok for pg women. Well that doctor is just stupid because I would only be 9DPO. There is very good chance I would get a BFN, take the medicine and affect a possible pregnancy. I called my uncle for a second opinion and he prescribed me Keflex which is also ok for nursing/pregnant women. Hopefully this one will knock it out for good this time!!!
Back to rest on the couch.
p.s. Congrats to Sare and the other mystery BFP!! Spread around some of that baby dust!!!

Lurker coming out to say congrats to Sare!! I guess taking a break was just what you guys needed!!!
I'm soon to be joining you ladies (April/May) and have been lurking for a while to learn the ropes.
Ausi - I had a really similar situation with my dr last week when I was diagnosed w/ pneumonia. She was asking me if I was pg b/c she wanted to put me on Levaquin which is definitely bad to get pg on. I hadn't O'd yet, but had lots of EWCM, so had a feeling it wasn't too far off and we had bd'd the night before. So I'm trying to explain to her that I'm absolutely 100% NOT pg right then, but that if I O in the next 5 days, there's a chance of me getting pg. So she tells me to take a urine test! A URINE TEST!?!?!?!? Are you kidding?!?!?! I looked at her and said there was NO way a urine test would show up BFP - I hadn't even O'd since my last AF. She totally didn't get it - unbelievable! So knowing that I was crazy sick and that if I were to O in the next 5 days it would be really early for me (I usually O on CD18-21, and this was on CD8) and if anything that with a 102 fever I'd probably O late, I took my chances, and was right - I was totally fine. As of Monday they added prednisone to my drugs b/c my lungs weren't getting better, so that's another 12 days of no chance of bd'ing. Guess I'm out for 2006 :(
So knowing that the chances of my system holding out to O until I was done with all these drugs was slim, I've now been praying I'd O so I can get this cycle done with and start a another one...and my temp jumped this AM, so I think I may have O'd yesterday...I'll keep you posted.
CONGRATULATIONS SARE!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats sare!!! and the other 2 MBFPs!!
Well girls, some intersting news...i finally found out what the pain in my upper abdomen was...I passed a gallstone yesterday. Super fun....They rushed me to the ER from work cuz i was doubled over on the bathroom floor. SOOOOOO, after seeing a GI specialist today, I have to have my gallbladder removed. Yeah. AND, I still haven't gotten AF. How do ya like them apples. The one moment i think it might be good if i wasn't PG (because they can do the surgery until I am past the first trimester) I might actually be. I'm so frustrated and upset right now. I was so excited for the posibility of us finally being PG, and now this happens, and even if I am, i don't know how excited i'll be because even the surgery in the 2nd trimester can be risky...and they have to do an MRI to make sure the stones aren't obstructing...something...i can't remember. Wich they can't do at all if I'm PG and they are basicly running on blind faith. OMG, somthing's gotta give. Anyway. I'm 12 DPO, they did a blood test today at the DR as I have never had a cycle beyong 29 days. We'll see what is says. So much for the joys of POAS to get my BFP. I guess i'll prob do it anyway just to show you girls. And, lovely as it all is, i still can't poop (which apparently is completely unrelated to the gallstone...i just can't poop). Tried ex-lax, didn't work. Dr told me to try magnesium citrate....we'll see.

Threadmistress, please move me to "waiting to O". :(
charliezangels - hang in there! Any word on the pg test? Little silver lining...I had my gallbladder out a year ago (when I had liver surgery) and have been told that it's what causes hangovers. Here I am a year later, and after a few nights of heavy drinking, haven't had a hangover yet :D (NOT that I recommend it as a hangover eliminator!!!)

I tried to get on here last night and this morning and the site was down. For once I really really really needed some feedback and I couldn't get in here. Anyway I checked my CM yesterday and it was tinged a very light brown. I was so bummed not only because I thought it was the start of Af but because if it was the start of AF then my LP was going to be really really short....shorter then ever. I have never ever had mid-lp spotting so I was really sure that it was the start of AF. Anyway I temped this morning and although my temp was down a little I haven't had anymore spotting. Do I dare say that it might have been implantation spotting? I hear about light pink spotting but never light brown. Let me just add that my CM was of a thick consistency so that is probably why it didn't show up as spotting. Also a very very interesting finding is that when I checked CM the first time and found the light brown my cervix was very low and when I checked two hours later it was so high I had a hard time reaching it. Anyway does anyone have any thoughts on what I wrote? Trying not to think about it too much. We leave on vacation tomorrow so that is helping me to focus on other things besides TTC.

03-17-2006, 10:01 AM
9 DPO and my temp went back up after the big dip below coverline yesterday. Still have the sore "girls". Tempted to test on Sunday. Question for you all - Do you think I o'd when I did? Or 2 days earlier?
Deanna1018
03-17-2006, 10:12 AM
Ausi...I just posted before you. We are cycle buddies. I am going to hold off on testing until we are on vacation. I only have two hpts so I will be very good about holding out until at least Monday. I think you o'd on the day the FF said you did. The opk is a good indicator but the post ovulation "dry up" CM is a great indicator that you "O" on the 8th. The temp rise on the day after projected "O" is also pointing to "o" on the 8th. Hope that helps.
Jess71903
03-17-2006, 10:17 AM
Congrats to Sare and the other 2 MBFPs!!!! I found them too! We needed some good news!!! I am hanging out at CD 18, 4DPO, which reminds me:
Threadmistress, please move me to "I think I O'd, testing around 3/24-3/26"
Would somebody look at my chart. I was sure I Od on 3/12 which was CD13 because I had a huge temp dip, but FF didn't call it until the next day. I know one day isn't that big a deal, but I thought the dip indicated O. I really hope it was CD14, because we had more BDing in then. It was better BDing too because we used Pre-seed for the 1st time.
Charliez- I don't know how you feel about "natural" alternatives, but I heard a guy on the radio the other day say to NEVER let someone take out your gall bladder. He gave the caller a way to dissolve the stones naturally. I wish I could remember what he said. His name is Dr. Joel Wallick (I think that's how you spell it). I know he sells his own vitamines and stuff, so I don't know how I feel about that, but if you are worried about surgery, you might want to research it. I am one that is all over non-medical treatment, so it sounded interresting to me.
I don't have any insight for you, Deanna, but I would say that it's a good sign! Good luck to you and ausi2B!!
Delaney21
03-17-2006, 10:46 AM
Charliez: 2 years ago my doctor wanted to remove my gall bladder also and so I did a bunch of research and found "natural" ways to help like jess said. If you don't want the surgery, definitely check it out. I didn't have the surgery and if I start feeling the slightest bit of pain now, I know what to do to make it go away.

Deanna - yay for cycle buddies!! Normally I would wait until Monday or Tuesday but I'd rather test on a weekend with my DH there. Also, if I did get a BFP, I would want to get into a doctor right away b/c I have been so sick.
I can't really answer to your "spotting" but I hope it is a good sign! Are you going to post while on vacation?

I came back from vacation to find CC down for a couple days. Hope everyone is doing well! It was great to be away for part of the 2ww, I didn't obsess like I normally would.
Sare--Congrats!!!! That's so wonderful you got your BFP while you were taking a break, I guess it was just what you needed!

Deanna I see mid-cycle spotting as a good sign. The only time I had mid-cycle spotting was when I was pregnant with my daughter. I am praying from some spotting of my own today or even tomorrow!

Deanna- Sure hope that it's implantation spotting for you! Keeping my fingers crossed!
Charliez- Sorry about your gallbladder, girl! That stinks! Hoping you feel better soon!
lege- NO hangovers?! Mabye my DH needs to have his taken out. He's such a whiner when he's hungover!
Well, about me. I'm so very very frustrated. I really don't think I've O'ed yet.
I'm in deperate need of opinions. My OPK's said that I was going to O. My temp dipped, then started climbing slowly. Now, it's on it's way back down. WTF?
Talk about confusing a girl. So, let me know what you girlies think happened.....do you think I haven't even O'ed yet? Or my temps just aren't going up?
Pleeeaasseee help me! I'm about to pull my hair out!
TIA!

03-17-2006, 01:27 PM
Mrs. Jackson, I definately think that you have not o'd yet. A similar thing has happened to me for a few cycles now...Lots' of watery or EW CM, then a positive OPK, then I dry up but my temps don't jump. I don't really know what causes it, and I even asked my RE about it. She said sometimes your body gears up to o but just fizzles out. She said it's sometimes due to cysts. I dunno, but it sure sucks. I totally feel for you....
ausi2b
03-17-2006, 01:32 PM
MrsJackson - I agree with JJsanner. If you can - keep taking the OPKs and keep bding! Good luck!
Jess71903
03-17-2006, 02:33 PM
I agree too, MrsJackson. If you O'd at your temp dip it would have been on CD 10 and that is way early, especially for you...you look like more of a CD 20+ sort of girl, even though I see that CD 14 last month.
JayJay
03-17-2006, 02:52 PM
Thanks so much for taking time to coach me, ladies!
The earliest I have ever O'ed was on CD 13. (November 20th cycle) That was an extremely short cycle for me. I don't ever remember having one that short before.
I guess I'll just keep taking OPK's. The only ones I have left are IC OPK's, and they were very negative when I got the positive on the Answer.
Do you guys think that I can trust them? Or should I make a special trip to the store (an hour away....) to get some more reliable ones? All I'm getting on the IC OPK's is smudge lines. Maybe I should just be patient and see what happens. I have about 40 of them, I should probably use them a couple times a day.
Am I crazy for thinking I could of O'ed as early as CD 10 or 11? The slow temp rise really had me going, but then it just went down. How strange.
charliezangel
03-17-2006, 05:56 PM
MrsJackson05 it doesn't look like you o'd based on your temps, although with a +OPK, i would just mention it to your dr. maybe your body is trying to O but it's just not happening. On another note, we are in similar situations as we are both newly weds and the same ag...how long were you with DH before you got married?? and do your family members think you need more "time to enjoy your marriage"? LOL....my family has worn out this phrase.
Thanks for the advice ladies. I talked to DH and between now and when I have the consult with the surgeon on the 28th I'm going to look up natural ways to disolve gall stones. I haven't had any pain since Wednesday (when it happend) and I'm finally able to poop!!!! I know, TMI....but i pooped twice today, i was so excited, lol.
So I am CD 31 wich officially makes me 2 days late. My temps are still up, but my HPTs have been BFNs. I'm still waiting on the results of the blood test from the dr, but i don't know if it might be to early to tell on that too. so here is my QOTD: I know that AF can be later from stress due to your ovulation actually being late. But can stress delay AF if you have already Oed at the normal time during your cycle??
roberta
03-17-2006, 06:22 PM
Maybe I am one of the MBFPs, even though I was taking a charting break.
I got a BFP!
I knew I would probaly O while we were on vacation but forgot the first two days I was supposed to use the OPKs. According to the online calcualtors, I oed on 2/28 and the edd is 11/24.
Our past week looked like this: Sunday- DH "moves" to Minneapolis. Monday- DH starts new job at new company. Wednesday- Receive and accept offer on NY house. Thursday- +HPTs We are PG! It has been a crazy week!
***baby dust***
JayJay
03-17-2006, 06:39 PM
charliez- Thanks for looking at my chart. I was pretty sure that I haven't O'ed, but those damn OPK's always throw me off. I'm beginning to think that I should just take a break like Sare, and see what happens. I know that would make my DH happy. He's not into the 'sex on demand' thing. Another thing that he just doesn't get is the temping. Boys. Can't live with them, can't get preggers without 'em. :D
I was with DH for about 2 1/2 years before we got married. In fact, on Tuesday we will have been together for 3 years. I think that's plenty of time to prepare our relationship for a baby! I don't care what anyone else thinks. (BTW, some people say I have an attitude problem! ;) ) My family doesn't know we're TTC. I'm sure that if they knew that we were TTC at the end of October (we got married in September) they would say that we should be married for awhile before we had a baby. Buuuuuttttt, coming from a family full of females that usually gets knocked up before they get married, I would have told them to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. (There's that attitude again!)
Congratulations, roberta- I was beginning to wonder if those MBFP's were ever going to show! Happy and Healthy nine months to you!

Well, I did it. I finally decided to throw out the thermometer. I did it last night after coming home from a night of drinking. My good friend and I were out, and we had a long drawn out conversation about how I'm putting to much into this TTC thing.
At the end of my last cycle, I said that I was not going to temp. Well, no one ever took my thermometer away, so it only tempted me by sitting on the nightstand.
It felt weird not to temp this morning, but it also felt good. So, if you ladies don't mind I might still stick around here and see who's getting BFP's, but I think that I might wander over to the 'Seeing What Happens' Thread.
I'm wishing you guys the best of luck! I'll keep checking in, but for now Threadmistress, could you please move me to 'Taking a Break?'
Take care, ladies!

Thanks for the sympathy girls. I was really upset this morning, but after talking to mom this afternoon i feel much better. DH was pretty upset. Last night he was talking baout his "son" like I was really PG. I woke up at 6 am cuz i had cramps but i didn't wake him up because he hasn't been sleeping well since i had me gallbladder attack. So i called my gf next door and told her i needed a tampon, so she found out first. Then, when DH woke up at like 10 I told him. Then later he asked why i didn't wake him up and why I told J first. I didn't know what to say but it really showed that he was upset. I didn't think he'd take it that hard, but he is so ready to have a child. It's amazing. What amazes me the most is this is the same man who told me when we were planning our wedding that he didn't want children and am i sure i'm ok with that. So cool.
MrsJackson Good luck girl. I hope that everything works out for ou and you get BFP soon. My DH is very similar to yours. He's not big on Sex On Demand!! So i have to warn him advance when i know i'll probably be Oing. It's funny.

After exactly one year of TTC, we finally got our BFP!!
We were on vacation last week, and I opted not to bring the thermometer, so I could relax a little, since I'd been kind of down about ttc lately. I was just about to make appointments with an RE and an accupuncturist, but ran out of time wrapping up work stuff before we left. Needless to say, I'm very glad I don't have to make those appointments now!
It's still hard to believe, and after 6 tests :o I'm finally ready to out myself! It's been so great and helpful to be part of this thread, thank you! **baby dust!***

Wow, congrats Mayham!!! That is so exciting after a year of TTC- you deserve it! :D Congrats to Roberta as well- happy and healthy 9 months to both of you!
MrsJackson05, I'm starting to think that taking a break might be a good idea as well. Look at all the BFPs that are flying around here from people that were taking a break! Good luck to you, but keep checking in and keep us updated on you!
Sorry about AF, charliezangel.:( She really sucks.
polkadot, I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you don't have endo. I really hope things get back to normal for you this cycle! Even better, that you get that BFP! ;)
ABirney- good luck at your doctor's appt! I hope you can figure out what's going on and get some testing done.
I actually haven't temped since AF arrived and it really feels good to forget about the thermometer! I may only temp a few days to get my pre O temps down and then do just a few to confirm O as well. I wouldn't even use OPKs, but I just bought a new pack, so I guess I'll use them up.
