View Full Version : Easter Outfits for Boys?

We all know there are gobs and gobs of cute little Easter dresses for little girls. What about the cute outfits for the boys? I personally don't like preppy-preppy outfits (think pastel blue, lightweight materials, etc.). So - moms of boys - where do you find your outfits?

Before Luke was born, we bought an adorable sailor suit on clearance at Macy's. Aren't all baby boys required to wear a sailor suit for Easter?:p ;) It's a size 18mos, so a little big, but I can't wait to try it on him. I don't usually like baby-ish stuff for Luke, but this is just too cute.

Oh geez, LILRTL, if you don't like jon jons and rompers and you live in the South, what *is* there to wear?! I thought all Southern boys were required by law to wear them. ;)
Last year, Children's Place and Gap had cute seersucker pants and matching jackets. My guys wore the pants with matching polo shirts for Easter. This year I'm hunting down sailor suits for Easter.

During lunch today, I ran to Kaufmann's (I was actually looking for St. Patty's Day clothes, but I didn't find anything), and they had just gotten in a bunch of new Polo stuff. It was all super cute...They had bunches of stuff you could mix/match...like sweater vests in different colors, "big boy" button-down shirts in a variety of colors, and cute khaki pants. I'm not big on "pastel" colors for our little man, so I'm probably going to go with something like I saw today...more along the lines of mini-Daddy clothes! :D
I went into our Baby Gap too, and I just didn't see anything that "struck my fancy".

Ok, maybe it's just my kids, but I HATE how sweater vests look on my little ones. They never fit just right, either too big or too small. We tried doing that last year on ds#1 and I LOVED the outfit on the hanger. Put it on my son and BLECK!
Are there any options that aren't sweater vests?

Sailor suits!:p
Seriously, though. What about a polo shirt instead of the button down and sweater vest? Or just a button down? With some khakis, of course.

Not a sailor suit, but still nautical!
From my old company...near and dear to my heart.

On a side note, our dear Aunt sent us a 24 month Easter outfit. God love her, she was very very kind to do so, but I really really am not diggin' it. DS can't wear it this year for Easter and I'm not so sure he would fit in it for next Easter. It's so Easter specific that I feel sorta bad if I don't put him in it for next Easter IF he is even a 24 month at that time. Good thing is, she lives in Florida...oh well.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. lol I distinctly remember my brothers wearing sailor suits for Easter and I've seen pics of my DH as a baby in a sailor suit, too. It must be a mom thing! Yesterdays moms, that is.:p

I know the OP said no sailor suits and pastels, but if anyone else is interested there are really cute outfits in The Wooden Soldier catalog. They're kind of pricy $, but Grammy wants to buy DS's Easter outfit. I also heard Gymbo's Easter line was coming out today. Unfortunately Wal-Mart isn't working size-wise for us right now. DS is very much in 9-12 months and I've haven't been able to find that there.

Dotsie-I kinda like sailer suits too! :D
I'm disappointed in Gymboree's Easter line. I do like what the Gap has out right now.
My MIL hates it when we dress DS up like a "little man" so since we'll be with her for Easter, we'll have to find something else. Probably a sailor suit. ;)
