Zhanna It's *possible* to get a BFP 10dpo, but chances are it is too early and could just make you disappointed unneccessarily. Try and hold off a couple of more days ~ I know, easier said than done!

My goodness, you guys have been so busy! I'm going to try to do a quick update on everyone. I'm sorry to those I'm bound to miss. I only have enough time to read the current page. :o
Yay for the EWCM, Twylla! I love how we get so excited about that! He, He. I'm the same way. I hope you have more today too.
Too funny about having the tax break just before the year ends! I hadn't even though about that!
You're cracking me up, MrsK! Have fun BDing!
Zhanna (BTW, everytime I type your name I accidentally type my own and have to backspace and start over.) ~ I'd wait until the weekend too. 10 DPO is pretty early. This is coming from the girl that tested on 9 DPO this month but in my defense, I thought I had O'd 3 days earlier. ;)
Good luck Veeka! I hope AF stays away.
Update on me:
I'll be out of town this weekend so I won't be around until probably Monday. We're going camping with a bunch of friends. :) I'm not 15 DPO and still no AF. The longest LP I've had is 16 days so she'll probably show just in time for my trip. LOL I took a test yesterday morning and it was a BFN so I'm pretty sure she'll be showing any day now. It's a bummer but I'm feeling better about it today. Yesterday was rough though. Boy was I happy to start a new day today after yesterday's. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I just got my TCOYF book in the mail today. I figure we'll just see what happens these first few months but if nothing by May I want to be able to start charting. And by the length of this book I'm glad I gave myself a few months to read it!
Today is CD16 and I think I'm 3-4DPO. Too early for anything but I think I'm making myself naseous just thinking about it. I've felt like I might throw up for three days straight now.
Oh... I also got my Learn Dutch computer software. DH speaks it as well as his family so I know when we have kids I either better be prepared to not know what they are saying to me sometimes....or learn it! Yikes.
Twylla

Thanks anniegirl, I hope we get our bases covered!
jnshanna, isn't it silly the things we get excited about? lol. Have a great trip... hopefully AF-free!
miaclear it isn't a terrible read actually, it's written for us SWHers to know more, lol. Good luck with tCOYF and learning Dutch!
I have more EWCM today, let's bring on the tax deduction!!!!! :p

Shanna- have fun this weekend. I really hope AF stays away and we can get some good news from you Monday:D !!!
Zhanna- We are cycle buddies! Don't know why I didn't notice that before! I will be doing my best to stay away from the tests until Sunday! I hope AF stays away from us both:) !
Twylla- YAH for EWCM! I don't know what I would do if my cycles were as long as yours! I have been TTC for 7 months but 8 cycles, you could be TTC for 7 months and it only be like 5 cycles! YUCK! I do wish I had EWCM, though. Maybe the Preseed will do its job.
Miaclear- have fun reading TCOYF. I guess I need to get it, too. I've been putting it off too, hoping I wouldn't need it :( !
ETA: Oh yah, Veeka! I didn't realize you would be testing on Sunday too! We have a mini-test-fest going!!! We NEED some BFPs, maybe by Monday we will have at least 3 (4 if you test Monday, Shanna!)
I just had fun with color and smileys:p ! DH is working until late. Can you tell???

Jess....I bought hoping Murphy's Law would chime in and make it useless to me. I still have a week and a half to find that out ;)
Good luck to all those testing this weekend!!!!

03-23-2006, 06:22 PM
I gave away my TCOYF after DD was conceived thinking I would never need it again... HA! The joke was on me!
Wondering if I should head out to the store to buy a test... It is CD 29 and I typically have 28 days between AF... No spotting, no real symptoms, just tired. Should I just POAS tomorrow AM or wait until Saturday?
Twylla
03-23-2006, 07:30 PM
Jess I never thought of it that way, about cycles vs. months. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. But we've been TTC since August I think of last year, so this is almost 7 months, and looking back, this is just cycle #4!!! Woah... hey, this isn't fair! lol.
neener If you can wait until Saturday, go for it. If not, buy a pack of 2 tests just in case, lol. You could POAS tomorrow, and again on Saturday if you need to. But my crossable are crossed that you get a BFP right off the hop and don't have to worry about using the second one!
Today is CD 39, I had more EWCM today, and we made sure to cover our bases ;) So I'm hopeful!
jnshanna

miaclear ~ I hope murphy's law works in your favor! ;) I remember when I got TCOYF, I blasted through it. It looks big but once you get started, it's hard to stop! I couldn't believe the things I learned about my body.
Love the colors, Jess! ;) Wow, we have a possibility of 4 BFP's! Cool! Good luck to everyone!
I would try to wait until Saturday if I were you, neenbean. But I know how hard that can be too so I'm with Twylla. Buy a 2 pack! LOL
I counted how long it's been since we started trying and it's been 8 months through Feb and I'm on my 7th cycle. I'm feeling more positive as time goes on (a whole 12 hours since I was feeling sure that AF would show). I really hope this is it for us. I don't have any cramping like I usually get with AF. I have some cramping but it's more like gassy cramps, not AF cramps. And I'm sooooo tired. But then again I've been traveling and I'm pretty busy these days too so that could be why. I'm definitely hoping more than I've ever hoped before considering I'm 15 DPO. The scary thing is, if I'm not pg, I'm going to be crushed when AF shows. Fingers crossed though!

03-24-2006, 07:34 AM
Well, I figured I'd update you all on me before I leave for the weekend. I know I can't handle it when I'm waiting for someone to come back and tell us if their pg or not. ;) I'm not one of those lucky ladies. I woke up to some spotting and I can feel AF getting ready to unpack. Too bad. I'm going back to truly SWH this month and throwing the thermometer in the drawer so that I can't use it. We'll see if that works. :)
Jess71903
03-24-2006, 07:38 AM
I'm sorry Shanna! I was really hopeful for you. I am in a similar situation
I am having some light brown spotting this morning. It is only 11 DPO and last time AF didn't show until 16DPO. Why would a LP length change? I heard that it didn't by more than a day or 2, so what would be the deal if it is? I thought some of you TCOYF girls may be able to help. It's too late to be implantation spotting, right? and too early for AF. We'll see, I guess.
MrsKinnison
03-24-2006, 09:15 AM
Sorry about AF Shanna:mad:
Jess Is a 16day lp average for you? Or was that on the longer side. For me, the first month I started taking a multi-vitamin, my LP was longer than usual, but when right back to normal after that first month. Also, I've read that some have spotting and really think AF is coming when you are actually pg, so this could be too early to count yourself out yet. I will have all my fingers and toes crossed for you!!!

Mrs. K- I guess that time I got AF on 16DPO, so 15 day LP. I have been charting for 3 cycles (including this one), My LPs have been 13 and 15 days long. This one would be the shortest at 10 if this is AF. The spotting has gotten darker and tinged red. Still not bright red, but brown-red. This sucks! I don't know how long I can take this!

I am hoping our little test weekend isn't a total bust! I am almost ready to call it, though. I just want to hide under the covers until CD 14 or so. I never thought it would be this hard to get pregnant! I am stumped. Since I started this mess at 11DPO, do yall think I was pg and miscarried really early or something? I have passed some more solid-looking stuff like what you would see at the end of AF. I guess the next step is to get DH in for a SA, which he has already said he is willing to do. Very bummed today. I hope for at least one of us that the spotting is just to throw us off and we will get a BFP!

Veeka, Shanna and Jess - I am so sorry about the spotting...
I've been feeling really depressed the last few days - I have a feeling that AF is just around the corner. I just don't feel PG and I am almost at the point where I think that it just won't happen for me. :( I know that I shouldn't be letting myself feel this way, but - I can't help it...
We've been TTC since November, which would make March the 5th month, but only the 4th cycle. But it seems so long since we started!
Anyway - I am going to test on Sunday morning, even though I don't have high hopes for myself...
Good luck to everyone testing this weekend!!!

Good luck to our weekend testers... let's see some bFPs! march really hasn't been all that good to us, has it?
Sorry to those who are spotting and/or starting to really feel upset about this whole crazy process. Let's all try to find something fun to be happy about this weekend, totally non-TTC related and share Monday, okay? So, the Monday QOTD is: What fun thing did you see/do this weekend? We need to cheer ourselves up!
With that said, have a great weekend, especially to those testing... I'm sending happy vibes to you all!!!
Jess71903
03-25-2006, 06:34 AM
I am utterly confused!!! I had "called it" as far as my chart goes, and then I had another high temp this morning after a plummet yesterday. The spotting is lighter and I am at a loss. I guess time will tell. I am afraid to get my hopes up like I do every month, just for it all to end the same way. Why can't your right big toenail turn glowing chartruce the day after conception or something and eliminate all of this wondering and waiting. I hate this!!!!

x-posting from my LJ and TTC #2...
I can't believe I am posting this, but....
I tested this AM (around 5:30) and got faint + from 2 tests from the $ Store. So, I went to Walmart and bought the Equate tests. The cashier was so whacko, saying "uh oh!" but I told her it was a good thing and then she started asking me all sorts of questions (at 6 in the morning!!!) about how late I am, etc. It was awful, so I left the store and headed to another 24 hour supermarket to do the rest of my shopping.
I bought a tea and headed straight to the ladies room with it and my "water cup". I peed in the cup and stuck the Equate in for 10 seconds, set my 3 minute timer on my cell phone and starred at the wall, sipping my tea. ;)
3 minutes later I had a faint, but VERY descernable BFP!!!!!!!!!!!! Ack! I am so excited and scared all at one!!! :D  :D
I got the rest of my groceries and a mini balloon for DD that says "Welcome New Baby!" When she woke up this AM, I gave it to her to play with. DH took it away because she was sticking the sharp holder in her mouth, but he did not even notice the message. Her birthday party is today, so he thought it was for the party.
Gotta go terrorize DH until he notices the balloon... Pretty soon I will break out my tests so he gets it. ;)

I am still in shock. DH didn't realize the message on the balloon until way after I had already told him. I ended up just handing the test to DH and he figured things out... Not really creative, but it was a completely crazy day with DD's birthday party and everything.

I am. Thank you! I have been sitting here all afternoon doing nothing. I went to the bathroom and had nothing. That doesn't mean much, though. It will probably come back. I have been getting teary-eyed at stupid things, like a not-even-almost-sad moment in Harry Potter (both the 1st book and movie). I almost cried at lunch with friends over remembering a comment someone made in my "words of wisdom" book friends made me for my wedding almost 3 years ago. I am not usually like this! Could be PMS. I guess I will have to be patient...I'm not very good at it, but I seem to always have to wait for everything. I am sorry to whine so much. I am feeling foggy today. I will catch up with everyone else when I feel a little clearer-minded.

03-26-2006, 04:29 PM
zhannushka~ thank you! I really hope this is the month for you!!! I totally understand your frustration. It took us 7 months/6 cycles and we are still kinda worried that the tests are wrong. Dh is so funny about this stuff. Good luck to you.
Jess~ you sound just like me! So emotional about everything. I started crying watching "In Her Shoes" last night. Not that emotional of a movie, but I was a wreck. When was AF due? I think it may just be too early to test or something. Maybe the tests you are using require to high hCG for the level that you are at. Have you looked at www.peeonastick.com? She has all the levels posted for every brand on the market. I would compare your brand. Best wishes!

03-26-2006, 04:32 PM
Jess...sorry that you don't have a clear answer yet. I'll pray you get one soon.
-------------
Today is CD19 and what I believe to be 7-8DPO. I am not 100% sure if/when I ovulated because my CM has been a constant on and off again thing. After some research in TCOYF I found out that that can be the case when you get off the pill. I am going off the fact that I've been on the pill twice and before I was I could time AF almost to the hour, I'm pretty sure it was a 26 day cycle (if not a 28). I was on it for about 3 years and when I got off I went back to my normal prepill cycles almost instantly. So I'm hoping that is the case again this time coming off of five years on the pill. Given all that I'm going to say I'm 7-8DPO.
With that said I really don't think I'm pregnant but I have been noticing some things that make me go hmmmmm. I've noticed I've been a lot thirstier these last couple days. I have been naseous (sp) every day all week (which this would not be clear to me why that started so early....I didn't think that did, which is why I think I'm imagining it). My appetitie has changed drastically, my daily granola bar which was ALWAY so appetizing to me just does not sound good, I didn't eat one all week. Other foods give me the same feeling. I really think this is all related to the fact that I DID just come off the pill at the begining of the month. I guess I'll find out next weekend anyhow :) Anyone have any similar situations from coming off the pill?
Jess71903
03-26-2006, 08:06 PM
Thanks for the encouragement, neenbean! I had some brown spotting this morning, but there's nothing now. I was using a test that claims to measure to 20, which is technically supposed to be more sensitive than the 25 Equate test, but I will give it a couple more days anyway. I was at 11 and 13 DPO when I tested, but I got a major temp dip at 11, so IF I was pg and IF that was implantation, I guess it could have been too early. I have gotten my hopes up for nothing before, so I am trying to prepare myself.
I really hope your symptoms mean something Miaclear! When do you plan to test?
miaclear
03-26-2006, 08:14 PM
I'm hoping to wait till Sunday to test but I'm sure I'll give in before then, hopefully no earlier than Friday though. It'll be interesting no matter what. DH had asked me before if I've ever taken a pregnancy test and I haven't (I was with my BF when she took hers though)....so something new will come out of this first cycle anyhow....even if it is just peeing on a stick. ;)
Jess71903
03-27-2006, 06:30 AM
Mia- I will tell you, I TTC for several months before taking one. I thought it kinda silly to waste all of that $$ to POAS every month when all you have to do is wait a day or 2 and see if AF shows. I was WRONG! After the 1st time I did it, I have done it every month. It is so addictive!!!! Just be warned! Good luck, girl! I hope you can wait it out and it's good news for you!
Temp still up and no spotting this morning.....waiting.....

Jess, I really hope this is it for you! Keeping my fingers crossed!
Miaclear - good luck testing this week! I hope those symptoms you're having are a good sign!
As for me - I tested Sat. morning and got a BFN. I originally planned on testing Sunday, but found out on Friday night that we'll be having company all day Sunday and decided to do it on Sat. Well, a BFN it was :( AF is due tomorrow and I won't POAS again unless it's at least 2 days late. So, if it doesn't show by Thursday, I will test then. I think I O'd on the 14th, which makes Sat. 11DPO. I am just hoping that it was too early...

Me, I am CD12. We start our BD fest tonight. I have been such a rollercoaster of emotions lately. I am really stressing about TTC and it not happening yet. Sorry about AF Jess. I hope she goes away soon!
As for me, today is CD43... sigh. I'm still trying to be good and wait until at least CD50 or 51 before testing. I have a busy week and weekend, so that should help me. I've been getting into the FPS again... super nauseous the past efw days, one whopper of a headache Saturday night and Sunday morning, super duper tired. Plus, i'm feeling a bit down and emotional, so who knows... this could just be PMS all over again! But on Wednesday or Thursday I'll call to make a doctor appointment for the end of next week, probably Thursday to get tested there, and if not I'll start Provera soon.

Welcome, Heidi! This is a great group of women!
I just went to a due date calculator and put in today's day for first day of last period, and it gave me 1-1-2007 as a due date! I may be completely out for the year! Bummer! Jess...I'm feeling good for a new years eve baby for you! Good luck with the new cycle.
Twyla... good luck! Hold of POAS as long as you can.
Myself...it's like I sprung a leak today. My CM is off the chart. Yesterday I was sticky and this morning as well. By this afternoon I thought for sure I got my period which would be really odd at only CD20 for me. I went to the bathroom and it was all just wet, a little creamy but mostly wet. I'm begining to wonder if I didn't O back on CD 12-14 like I thought. Of course this afternoon I had the lower back pain like I often get before AF comes but I had a different cramp then I've ever had before. Usually they are just general grab my abdomine and moan. This time it was completely centered right over my uterus. And all day I've just been exhausted and have had some hot flashes. I've finished TCOYF (amazingly didn't take me as long to read as I thought) and I might temp next month (if this isn't my month), just to see what my body is up to.

A huge congrats to Neenbean! That is so exciting and hopefully yours will be the first in a string of BFPs!
Sorry to hear about AF Jess, Shanna, and Veeka. I hope you all can still get a December baby by having it a little early!
Welcome to Heidi! I hope you don't ahve to stay too long.
Good luck Yolanda! I didn't realize that you had been TTC for a year. I thought that I was the one who had been trying for the longest (at 9 months). I say all the more reason I hope you get a BFP really soon! I know it is really hard, but hang in there!
Miaclear~ It looks like we are on the same schedule. I am either 7 or 8 DPO too. I am thinking that I will test on Sunday or Monday if AF doesn't show up. Let's hope that we both get BFPs in about a week!
Just because I haven't been around and I had to read back a ways...I'll do the Monday QOTD: I actually went on a weekend trip to see my brother and sister. We had a great time and it was nice to see both of them since I don't get to see them that often. It was a nice distraction from TTC too. Anyone else have anything to share?

Welcome Heidi!!
Well, tonight is a very exciting night ~ this is the first week of my new work schedule and I am so excited. I have been waitressing 5 nights a week forever, on top of being a realtor. As of this week I will only be waitressing thurs, fri & sat nights. It was so nice to have time to go to the gym again and have dinner with dh at a normal time!! I feel like I finally have my life back :D I'm one of those wackos that really enjoys waitressing, plus I love the $$, (and I get a lot of real estate business from there, but it is also our health insurance) but I really love having time to myself and my family!

I hope you stay busy Twylla and keep your mind off things for the next week. And in the end it works out well. :)
I hope throwing out the therm helps you relax. I feel like it's helping me a lot already but it is only CD4. I have a feeling it'll get harder the closer to O that I get. I might spot-temp just to see where my temp is. Hopefully I'll be able to tell if I've O'd or not by doing that. I still haven't decided about OPK's. I'm not sure if I want to do that. It seems a bit too stressful too.
Wow miaclear, that sounds promising. I've heard that increased CM is a pretty good sign of possible pregnancy.
Congrats on your new, less full schedule, MrsK! You sound so happy having the extra time with your family. :)

Happy Belated Birthday Twylla! :D
QOTD ~ DH and I spent the weekend driving to Ft. Lauderdale to pick up some furniture his grandmother gave us. Then we hauled it all home and I spent all of Sunday rearranging the living and dining room and organizing our new china hutch. Also spent quite a bit of time trying to make these horrible slipcovers fit and look decent on the new couches. So over all a productive non TTCing weekend. :D

Happy Belated Birthday, Twylla!
QOTD: We entertained guests on Sunday, so - I had to clean and cook most of the day Saturday and some of Sunday (before they showed up). The dinner came out really delicious (I was so proud of myself!), and our guests brought their kids, who are the cutest! - a 2-year old and a 10-month old. Our dog had a great time playing with those kids. The day was really nice and we had lots of fun.

Wacky CM update. Today I am dry as a bone. Well I am now, who knows what the afternoon will bring. Anyone else have CM change so drastically within hours?
Edited to say that having just gone to the bathroom CM was sticky again, and then noticed an insanley long CM clump. I hate to say it was EW cause it really was a big clump, like a booger, about six inches long and very stretchy. Is this normal??????

Hi everyone, I thought I would join you.
Me: Sadie (30)
DH: C (31)
Married: June 2005
Last BCP: February 2006
DS/DD : None
TTC since: March 2006
This is our 1st cycle trying, and my first cycle off BCP in 6 years. I'm on CD29, but am pretty sure that this is not our month. I think any "symptoms" I have could be attributed to going off the pill. Of course even though I have no real symptoms I have been unable to restrain myself, and have taken 2 PG tests, both BFNs.
Anyway, here I am waiting for AF to show. Looking forward to being able to discuss things here, as no one IRL knows we are trying.

Miaclear I get wacky-o CM too. Just when I think I'm dryinging, up, I get some clumpy stuff too. Gee, how many other people do we describe our booger-like CM clumps to? lol. Nothing is TMI around here! lol.
CD44 here... nothing too exciting. My CM has definitely dried up, I think anyway, but who really knows? I'm starting to feel goofy twinges and stuff, maybe FPS, maybe signs of AF to come... I'm still holding out until next week before I test!

Happy belated birthday, Twylla!
I am on CD 5 today and cannot wait to start BDing on our first full cycle! Yeeeyyy :)
Newbie here. I think I need a place to vent about this TTC stuff or my head is going to explode.
Me: (28)
DH: (31)
Married: June 2002
Last BCP: February 2006
DS/DD : None
TTC since: March 2006
I'm not charting but have been following my CM since stopping the BCP. (My history...I have been on BCP for 8 years and had an ovarian cyst removed in 2001.) I'm estimating that I'm on CD20 (2DPO.) I did an OPT on Saturday and it had a line that was almost the color of the control line. We BD on Sunday morning (2am or so after going out.) On Monday morning we BD before work. I had EWCM on Monday afternoon around 2pm and we BD again around 9pm. (This is all probably TMI but getting off the pill have put my drive into overdrive. Is this normal? How am I to function if all I can think about is BD???) Reading this, I sound like a total spaz. Thanks for letting me vent.

Welcome FMS! I too just went of BCP and noticed the change. Enjoy it :D Although try not to scare DH with it....I think I did.
Another friend just had her baby today. DH and I are probably going to go see her tomorrow (a girl, McKenzie Grace) possibly tonight. All the baby talk this morning and BDing last night made me break down and test today which was so stupid cause I'm only 9-10DPO. But I've heard a few girls get BFPs in that timeframe. Not me. I did buy a two pack though so I can test Sunday.

Grrr Im soo angry, at THIS time my cycle has to decide that it wants to get longer (not before we start TTC!) af still isnt here and Im on day 31 of a uaual 27/28 day cycle. I was so happy to have such short cycles so we had a chance more often. Im definatly not preggo Ive had two bfn. Will wait till cd 33 and if she dont show ill tst again tho Im pretty sure tht it would have shown by now. The weird thing is on cd29 I would have bet money that af was going to show any minute but since then NOTHING! any clues ladies? I didnt chart this month at all so I have no idea when I Oed.

Hi girls was wondering if you heard anything about green tea and increase of EWCM?
What you think? Have you tried?
Sadie
03-29-2006, 03:04 PM
Squee, I understand your frustruation...my cycles have been 28 days (b/c I've been on bcp). It's my 1st cycle off it, and I'm on CD30 with two bfn and absolutely no signs that AF is going to show up in the next day or two. I'm just worried that my cycles are going to drasitically change and be really long now. I guess it's hard to judge anything by this cycle though, since I know it can take a while for them to regulate after bfp.
Can you tell I'm not the most patient person in the world? :D

Green Tea Someone ordered a big box of green tea bags here at work about 3 months ago, and every afternoon I have been drinking a nice big cup, and since I started that, I've noticed a lot more EWCM. I don't remember the science behind it (though I'm sure it wouldn't kill me to go search the family planning forum, I'm just really lazy! lol) but I can vouch for it working. I just wish it would let me know if I ovulate or not, lol.

Green Tea is s'posed to help increase cm, however you shouldn't drink it while pg (maybe not after O either, but I can't quite remember) because it also depletes (or maybe prevents absorption) your body from folic acid. I wish I could remember exactly, but you get the jist of it....

Mint Ice Cream...My FAV!!! Love It!! Like Sadie's DH, mine hates it as well. YUMMY!! Have you ever had a "Grasshopper" Drink? If not, you HAVE to try it - blended is the best but on the rocks works too.
As for waiting, its the WORST!! I thought I was a patient person. That 2WW is horrible. Why can't you just find out the next day after BD? SO unfair what we women have to go through.
Anyways, on that note...sending Good Luck Vibes for the month of April!!

CD38 here - still no AF. :( I am sure that I'm not pregnant - I tested yesterday and got a BFN. So - I am just waiting for AF, to start the new cycle and be done with this one...
QOTD: Do friends who don't know that you are TTC ever ask you when you plan on starting? If so, what do you tell them (if you don't want to tell them that you're already TTC)?
The 2 couples we had over for dinner on Sunday both have little children. Both girls got PG without ever trying - one of them on their wedding night (or so they say) and the other - on their honeymoon. I don't want to tell them that we've been TTC for a few months now, because I don't think they will understand. They both asked us on Sunday when we plan on starting TTC and I couldn't think of anything better to tell them other than we're not ready yet. Which is a big lie of course...
MrsKinnison
03-30-2006, 07:44 AM
QOTD We get asked all the time, and have for a long time. I don't know if its because we are in our 30's, we've been together so long, or what, but people just really want us to have a baby. I honestly don't mind at all. Actually, to be completely honest I have always thought it was funny. We are probably a little backwards because it was always more me holding off than DH. So its funny to hear when are you going to give DH a baby. Now that we are TTC, and almost no one knows, I just say same the same stuff I always have..."I'm busy right now." "I have to work up to these things." "What if the dogs don't like the baby? Who are we going to give the baby too?" "Maybe next year." That last one I have literally been saying for years!
Chris~n~Jen
03-30-2006, 07:48 AM
QOTD ~ I usually just shrug my shoulders and make some comment like "Haven't really thought about it" or "I guess whenever it happens". It doesn't bother me much when people ask though. It weird because neither of our family really ask at all, it's only friends that make the comments.
I posted this question in the charting thread also.
Question: I searched up and down the childrens medicine aisle searching for baby asprin. The closest thing I could find is children's pain reliever. It's a chewable tablet. The active ingredient is Acetaminophen. Is this the same thing as baby asprin? Should I be taking this to thicken my lining?
Ericka_Jarett
03-30-2006, 07:54 AM
Chris~n~Jen - the baby aspirin will be in the adult aspirin section, since it's used as part of a heart regiment. Usually called Joseph's or they have a generic brand as well. You won't find it in the children's section because children under 6 can't take aspirin. Check with your doctor before taking it though regularly, as it can cause issues for you. Remember that your uterus lining has to be thickened in order to hold a pregnancy. If the lining is not good during pregnancy, you will have to go on progesterone supplements. Just want you to be careful.

QOTD: This question is becoming more and more frequent as we near our first anniversary. Surprisingly, though, it's not my friends but my family who asks most. My older brother called me up one day and started asking why we were waiting, were we trying, and to tell me I wasn't getting any younger. I thought it was hilarious, but ewwwww  I don't like talking about my reproduction with my brother.
I usually tell people that we want to be married for a while without kids. Either that or that we are waiting until the cats leave for college. :p

03-30-2006, 09:51 AM
QOTD Our friends ask a lot, parents and IL's not so much, which is great. (We don't feel any pressure from our friends, but we would from our parents.) DH's best friend Dave is dying for us to have kids and asks constantly. We've told everyone "in the next year or so" when actually we're TTC now. Dave checks me out every time I see him and asks leading questions so I just have to flat out tell him, "I'm NOT pregnant!" It's pretty funny. When I actually am PG, I don't know how we'll be able to wait before telling Dave. He will know in a second b/c I'm a terrible liar, and he's the one person who really tries to pin us down about it. :)
It's funny now, but I can see how hard it would be if we struggle for a long time.
VeekaSF

QOTD: We just tell everyone that we want to wait a year before starting TTC :) when they ask why a year, V1: we want to spend some time just the two of us; V2: We need to recover from wedding expenses ;)
I do not want to tell anyone. And because it was only 6 months, we have 6 more months to think about it ;)
I also love MrsK dog answer, I am using it next! LOL
"What if the dogs don't like the baby? Who are we going to give the baby too?"
Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone!!!
QOTD:We have been together for so long that people have given up asking. (We're going on 10+ years of being together and will be married 4 years in June.) My IL have hinted at it a number of times but neither set of parents has really pushed the issue. We had a list of things to do before kids and we've knocked just about everything off of it so, I'm guessing that people will start to wonder.
Last night I swore that I was going through menopause b/c I was having hot flashes. My face felt like it was on fire. I drove to a friend's house with the ac on high to cool myself off. I now feel sorry for the ladies in my office who really are going through menopause. Today, I woke up at 5am for no reason at all and then didn't really sleep well until the alarm went off. I think I might be stressed about this whole process...and we're only starting. ugggh.

You ladies have been busy!
QOTD: I have started saying "when it happens" or whatever. I don't want to lie but I wish people would quit asking. It's getting harder to answer without crying.
Mia- I BOO HOOed at Scrubs! That is one of my favorite shows! I got mad a few weeks ago because Carla was getting upset because they weren't pg and had been trying for like 3 months, I think she said. I yelled at her then! That was the episode that she blindfolded him and tried to get a semen sample for a SA...
Speaking of SAs, I picked up the kit and Rx for DH today. He can do it whenever, as long as it gets to the lab within an hour (preferably 30 min). The rules are funny! It has to be collected my masturbation only, no sex or lubricants or anything. We have to abstain for 2-3 days before. Thankfully the lab is open 24 hrs. so he can do it whenever!

This is pure genious!!! I'm so stealing this for a co-worker who's constantly asking me. I'll just say, we're waiting for Ginger to leave for college! LMAO!!! Great answer. Maybe that will give her the hint.
QOTD: I've been saying, I don't know, maybe after I SEE my husband. He's about to get off weekends in the next two months though, so people will probably expect something after that, lol! We also work together, so DH gets the questions as well. Hmmm... if the wife says not right now, maybe the husband will give me a straight answer... seriously folks!
Anyway, CD46 here. I'm going to go buy tests on Monday, and POAS tuesday morning. that's my final decision!

______________
Ok....so a while back I was thinking I had 26-28 day cycles when I wasn't on the pill before. Last night I dug out an old calendar from college and counted. Well...naive girl....you gotta count the days you get your period too! So my cycles were actually about 30-32 days long. Curious to see what they'll be up to now 8 years later.

I'm so stealing this for a co-worker who's constantly asking me. I'll just say, we're waiting for Ginger to leave for college!
Twylla, it definitely helps change the subject! If people keep asking and you say something stupid everytime they ask, I think they begin to realize that they're being pushy. BTW, how on earth have you waited so long to test?!

BTW, how on earth have you waited so long to test?!
After going off the pill to chart to avoid for a while, I found out that my cycles were soooooper long. So we stopped avoiding and threw caution to the wind. Since then, I've had cycles of all sorts of lengths. Once it was just 11 days, and I think my longest was 161 or so... yuck. Anyway, last cycles was 50 days exactly, so I guess I'm just used to having to wait. And I don't really know when/if I O, so i don't really know when my 2WW starts. I guess that was the long explanation, hunh? lol.

Wow, there's so much to catch up on!
Welcome fms!
MrsK ~ Good luck with SWH this month. I'm trying the same thing this month. It feels a little weird not keeping track of anything but it's also very liberating. :D
miaclear ~ Your friend's baby's name is so cute! Don't worry about the BFN. Just hold out as long as you can before you use that other test! I'm glad I didn't watch Scrubs, I don't think I could take it if it made you bawl.
Veeka ~ I tried green tea for a little bit but it didn't seem to do anything for me.
Zhanna ~ Don't give up yet. You could have just O'd later this month. I hope that's the case!
Squee ~ Sorry about AF. :(
tinkerbell ~ Isn't it frustrating not knowing? Even if your charting, you still don't really know. Jeez! Could this be any more complicated?
I really hope this is your month, Twylla!
QOTD: We are asked about TTC all the time! It's gotten to the point where it's becoming pretty hurtful now. We've been asked our entire marriage by family and friends constantly and I would always tell them "when DH's ready". Way to place blame, huh? LOL But it was true, he didn't want to grow up that much yet. Now that we're trying the questions have a stronger meaning and I can't seem to shrug it off as well. I can put on a brave face for them but when they're gone, I'm still thinking about it and sad. These days I just tell them, it'll happen someday. I've also got to learn not to ask someone, "guess what?". When I won a trip this week, I kept asking people that and DH did too. Well, at least 4 of those people said, "you're pregnant!". Now that really stings. But overall, some days are better than others. Sometimes I take it pretty well, others I really don't.

Slow day today? Not that I have anything to report. I thought my CM had offically dried up yesterday but it's back today in a creamy state:confused: I think I'm going to test on Sunday and if it's a BFN I'm going to wait a whole week to try again. This sucks though cause I bought margarita mixings and I'd love to just drink heavily this weekend. I'd hate to end a drunk fest off with a BFP though, that would weigh on me too much. Either way I'll be ok with what happens this first cycle. If it works out that is awesome, but if not I wouldn't mind another cycle of BDing. Plus it would get me out of the holiday baby range. Ideally I'd like a Feb baby anyhow.
Not too much going on here either.
I have to stop eating weird things for lunch. Yesterday I had steak tacos with a pesto/onion based sauce and today was a lobster/portabella crepe. Both days I ended up with really smelly pee. I am drinking water like it's going out of style to dilute the smellyness.
Monday will be *fun.* We're changing life insurance companies so we have to PIAC and have blood taken. Following that, I have my annual exam with my doctor.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

I have been MIA the past two days because we don't have an internet connection at home right now. I am at school and only have a minutes but I wanted to check in on everyone and wish everyone luck, whether they are bd'ing or testing.
As for myself, I will be testing on Sunday or Monday if I don't have AF by then. I am excited but I am trying to talk myself out of being excited because I have no reason to think that this cycle will end any differently than the last ones.

Thanks for the luck ladies!
I'm also trying not to get my hopes up to high looty. And I hate it. I wish I could still be optimistic about this, it would make the whole process a lot more fun, kwim? Oh well.
Today's "FPS": bloating, sore nipples, gas :o , twinges and cramps in my abdomen, and I'm very tired and moody. Sigh. I hope I hope I hope....

Good luck testing Twylla and looty! :D
In my news - nothing's changed... CD39, no AF, no BFP. I don't want to test anymore, 'cause I don't want to see anymore BFN's. So, I'm just waiting it out, waiting for AF to arrive I guess... :(

Good luck ladies! I'll be testing again Sunday myself.
Here's my positive comment today! A coworker who is known for her randomness in just saying things said to me today.... "You're glowing...are you pregnant?" I just no....and I was really hot cause it was hot in the office so I'm trying not to make too much of it but....I hope she's not just random...but psychic too :D
Edited to say Twylla that I've been poking and rubbing mine a lot the last couple days too. I almost did it in front of this random coworker. Maybe that's why she said it:rolleyes:

So we ended the month with only two graduates. I hope that means that April will be raining babies.
