I will be travelling to Tucson tomorrow. I was checking the weather online and it said in the 70s during the day and 30s at night. Is there really such a wide swing? I'm trying to pack and don't want to overpack if possible. Any help on what to expect weather-wise would be appreciated.

Not supposed to quite get down to 30 - more mid to upper 30's. And, yes, there can be that much difference. I think one reason is that Tucson has less cement and can cool off at night - well, they've done tests and have pretty well determined that it's the pavements, cements and mainly, the parking garages in Phoenix that keep it so hot at night. Typically, desert regions get much cooler at night because there's nothing much to hold the heat in...

I have it even better, I'm out northwest of Tucson in the desert - dirt road - and it probably will get down to 30 tonight out here. I like it! Those 111 degree days are just around the corner - we relish this!

This is the weather site that I've found most accurate. Have fun while you're here!
