Wow I have never told anyone besides my husband and my mom. I have had 2 sets of injections so far. They have worked fabulously!! Before my Botox I would stain a shirt by the time I got to my car. The sweat would literally roll down my arm (it did at my wedding, a BM was horrified). Blue Cross Insurance will pay for it as Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition. I was allergic to Dry-Sol and Certain Dri worked great...for a while. The botox injections were suppose to last 6 months-ish. Mine lasted for maybe 2. I didn't care. I got my first round in early Feb. I went back in late May for round 2. By the time I went back the sweating was back full-on. It has been more than 1 month and I am still sweat free. The first round I thought was going to hurt sooooo bad. I was a complete breeze!! For the second round, the doctor double the number of injections (maybe around 40 per arm?) to make it last longer...this round hurt like he||. I think it was because of my state of mind. I went on February all worked up and it was easy, second time I was so calm that I don't think my adrenalene (sp?) was going and it hurt more.

I would recommend this to anyone who has been battling Hyperhidrosis.

where do they actually inject? In the armpit or the arm?

Sorry I guess I should have elaborate more. It is injected directly into your armpit. It basically stops the sweat glands from working (like with the face muscles).

I also forgot to mention. Make sure you get a good derma who does this a lot. There is a very fine line oh how deep to inject (nothing bad happens it just doesn't work) so you want to make sure they are competent.

I remember hearing about these armpit injections well over a year ago and it's something I'm very interested in. I don't sweat that much to where it's rolling down my arm, but I stain shirts and I hate that. I rarely wear white tops because sweat stains appear so quickly. :(

40 injections in your armpits? Wow. You are one brave woman. But it only stops you from sweating under your armpits, correct? I sweat a lot in the hot summer weather, which is embarrassing, but I find my worst place is my chest and stomach. Wish I didn't have that problem.

DH and I were just talking about this. He has the hyperhidrosis and was supposed to have the surgery to cut the sweat glands (I think that's what it was). The surgeon had to cancel last minute, and the morning of the scheduled surgery, the segment aired on GMA about this.

My DH sweats all over really badly...does it help with that at all?

Has you husband carefully researched ETS surgery? I have heard a lot of negative side effects from it. I think a lot of people end up getting that procedure reversed. There are some boards on MSN (go to groups on the left column and search for groups "hyperhidrosis". There are tons of people and tons of information about ETS.

Botox only works where you get the injections. You can injections in armpits, some people in the hands and some people in the feet. Isn't ETS only effective where they cut the glands also? Has he tried other forms of solution before surgery (I don't mean like Dryol and Certain-Dri)?
