Charting Our Course to the BFPs

http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.

So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!

Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.

Your threadmistresses for this thread are gymwidow and cowgirl.

To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread after 5 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistresses would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if we get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.

If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test!

Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb

* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.

* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.

* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.

* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.

* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.

* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.

* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.

* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.

* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.

* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.

* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!

* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!

* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations

This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!

•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation
•AFNW: "Aunt Flo Not Wanted"; the day your period is expected to start, but you are hoping it doesn't!
•AO: anovulatory (cycle without ovulation)
•BBs: "boobs"; breasts
•BBL: "be back later"
•BBT: Basal Body Thermometer; This is used to measure your basal body temperature, when you wake up in the morning, after at least 3 hours of sleep, before you start to move around; Use a special BBT thermometer to take your temperature because they measure the small changes in temperature from day to day more accurately than the regular fever thermometers.
•BCP: Birth control pills
•BD'ing: "baby dancing"; baby-making intercourse
•BFN: "Big Fat Neutral" or “Big Fat Negative”; Negative pregnancy test.
•BF'ing: breast-feeding
•BRB: "be right back"
•CD: cycle day; a particular day in your menstrual cycle (example: CD1 is the first day of your period)
•CL: Cover Line; a visual tool used to separate the low (pre-ovulatory) temps from high (post-ovulatory) temps; a coverline is typically based on the temperatures 6 days prior to ovulation.
•CM: cervical mucous; one of the most useful clues your body can give you in predicting your fertility; it can range from dry, creamy, sticky, or (the most fertile) egg white/watery type.
•CF: cervical fluid; same as cervical mucus
•CP: cervical position; an optional, but sometimes really useful, fertility sign; CP will generally be low, firm and closed before and after ovulation, and high, soft and open during your fertile time.
•DD: "dear daughter"
•DH: "dear husband"
•DS: "dear son"
•DPO: Days Past Ovulation; number of days from your post-ovulatory temperature rise. (Example: 1DPO is the day after your ovulation)
•Endo: endometriosis (can be a fertility problem)
•EDC and EDD: estimated date of confinement (antiquated, but still used by physicians) and estimated date of delivery
•EPT: a brand of pregnancy test, or, generic for "early pregnancy test"
•EW or EWCM: egg white cervical mucus; the most fertile quality CM; it is slippery, clear and stretchy, like egg whites; also EWCF
•FAM: Fertility Awareness Method; the method of fertility and/or birth control that correlates the physical changes you experience during your cycle to predict when you are most fertile
•FF: Fertility Friend, an online (free, for basic services) fertility charting site (website); (could also be formula feeding; check context)
•FM: fertility monitor
•FMU: first morning urine
•FP: follicular phase; the phase before ovulation, where the egg matures in the ovaries
•FRED: First Response Early Detection (pregnancy test)
•HCG: human chorionic gonadotropin; the hormone that is present during pregnancy and what the HPT's and blood test measure to determine if you are pregnant
•HTH: "hope that helps"
•HPT: home pregnancy test; a urine pregnancy test you can take at home
•IMHO: "in my humble opinion"
•IMO: "in my opinion"
•IUI: intra-uterine insemination
•IVF: in vitro fertilization
•KU: knocked up
•LH: leutenizing hormone; the LH surge is what is measured by the OPKs; this hormone signals the egg to burst from the ovary
•LP: luteal phase; the phase of your cycle that begins just after ovulation and continues for 10-18 days, ending with the start of your next period; during the LP, your body continues to build up the lining of your uterus, and produce hormones which would support a pregnancy; this is the time when a fertilized egg can implant into the uterine lining
MBFP Mystery big fat positive- When you see a BFP in someone’s chart but they haven’t announced it yet
•NFP: Natural Family Planning; similar to FAM, but with abstinence during the fertile period
•O, Oing, Oed: ovulation, ovulating, or ovulated
•OPK: ovulation predictor kit; tests for presence of LH surge that usually precedes ovulation by 12-48 hours; these tests are quite expensive and not always accurate (if you take medication or depending on your age); these are optional when charting with FF, but if your fertility data is not clear it can bring more light and help interpret difficult cases
•OS: Ovusoft; charting software based on TCOYF
•PCOS: polycystic ovarian syndrome (a fertility problem)
•PG: pregnant
•PIAC: pee in a cup
•POAS: pee on a stick
•RE: reproductive endocrinologist
•SA: semen analysis
•SH: "sweet husband"
•SO: "significant other"
•SYS, SYL : See ya soon! or See ya later!
•TCOYF: Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler; a book and website about charting and fertility.
•TMI: "too much information" - There is no such thing when TTC!
•TTA: "trying to avoid"
•TTC: "trying to conceive"
•TTFN: "ta-ta for now"
•TTYL, TTYS: "talk to you later" or "talk to you soon"

Thanks for everyones kind words about the house we were trying buy. We ended up not getting the house but the story surrounding that is an interesting one. I will try to make it as short as possible. We went through the second walk through, loving it even more then the first time. DH and I went outside and talked about the price. In the meantime the owner came home and went to his realtor (who was in his own car). He talked to him for about 10 minutes and then went inside. Before he went inside we asked him for a picture of the house in the summer because he had offered to show us one the last time we were there. We went in the house, he showed us and then we went to talk to the realtor. We told him our offer and we got in our cars to go somewhere (diner) to write up the contract. Well, we get out of our cars and the realtor looks like he was going to explode. He said he was so upset he didn't know what to do. I guess the initial time the owner talked to him at the car he was telling him that a friend was coming back into town and was thinking about buying the house. On the way to write up the offer the owner called the realtor back and said that his friend was going to buy the house (for 10,000 dollars above asking) and that the owner had known about it since the afternoon but was too busy to call the realtor. So basically while we were going through the house the owner already knew that he wasn't going to let us have it...what is up with that???????? How rude can someone be??????? He realtor said that he is dropping him as a client and doesn't want to work with him again...of course I don't know if I believe it and I am starting to wonder if any of it is true but if it is the owner is a jerk!!!!! Anyway we were disappointed but not as much as we were disgusted by the whole thing. I think the trip to the diner was just a ploy to get us away from the house before he told us about it.

Anyway my stress level was really high last night. Got some sleep but it wasn't as restful as usual so I am hoping that is why my temp dropped a little this morning. If it isn't the reason then AF may be on the way. Although the symptoms I always have before AF are not present like they should be at this point. I guess I won't know till I test this weekend.

Be back later. I am sooooo sorry that I hijacked this thread with my story, I just had to get it out. Thanks...it won't happen again.

Thanks for the new thread! I hope we get our 5 BFP's soon and blow through this new one!

LDS Angel 19 - good luck this cycle!

Deanna1018 - I'm so sorry about the house. Putting in a bid is so stressful, never mind when you have realtors and owners that are less than honest with you. Everything happens for a reason, I bet there is an even better house around the corner for you!

Kimmer - sorry about AF. I have the feeling she may be paying my guest room a visit soon.

polkadot - i hope the charting break helps with your sanity and gets you a BFP soon!

My temp went up a tiny bit, and no AF yet. I'm still going to wait and see over the next few days rather than test. It may just be that AF get here a little early. I've been optimistic, and hoping the HSG would help us out this cycle. I guess I'm still not out until AF shows up, so I'm trying to stay positive. It is hard, though!

Good morning!
Kimmer sorry the witch showed.
Deanna that sucks about the house! I can't believe the owner showed it again knowing it was already sold. Hopefully you'll find another one that you like even better soon.

Nothing new to report here... plugging along on CD65.... will be starting Provera in another week if nothing happens by Wednesday. I did schedule my annual exam yesterday (for March 23) so hopefully I'll get some bloodwork and some answers at that time.
Have a great day everyone!
PS thanks for the new thread!

Happy Thursday Ladies!!!

Congratulations to bunnybeth, QuarterCentury and MichelleRenee!!!

Let's keep the BFPs going!!!

Kimmer sorry about AF. She truly is an evil lady.

Deanna so sorry about the house. The owner seems really rude and just odd -- be glad you are done with him, as it sounds like he would have made the whole process a living h*ll if you had bought the house. I bet a better one is just around the corner.

Okay ladies, I am confused, although this is only my first cycle charting, I wanted some input on my temps from you guys since you know sooo much more than me when it comes to this stuff . For the last week, my temps have ranged from 97.22 to 97.27. This seems like such a small variation. Is this normal?? I have taken my temp at a later time in the day to see if my battery was the problem but my temp definitely was much higher later in the day. I also bought another thermometer to use for my next cycle (its has a light and has a constant beep to tell you you are taking your temp correctly) and after it gave me a 97.3 read today (other thermometer gave a 97.22 read and since the new thermometer only goes to 1 tenth of a degree, I decided the two temps agreed). I am trying to not be my typical type-A self when it comes to charting, however, it looks like that plan will not work;) .

Thanks for the new thread threadmistress!!!!

Deanna So sorry to hear about the house! Real estate transactions are just so stressful -- it's horrible.

So I wanted to do two things before I decamp to Oct. Mommies. First is a slight hijack because I am too excited not to share this. Awhile back I might have mentioned that I wrote a book over the summer (called _Generation Me_, based on some of my research). It won't be out until early April, but it's finally up on amazon! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0743276973

(Though with the wrong cover. The real cover is at http://www.generationme.org)

Anyway, you'll be able to see from this why I was so into computing those TTC stats -- I am a geek for a living!! :) Though you wouldn't know it from the number of times I quote _People_ magazine in the book. :D

My other task is to drop off my warm wishes to you all. It has been so great to have a place to go where people understood what I was talking about. You ladies have been great, and I wish you all of the good luck I can muster! Plus a huge load of

wow, we move quick. Thanks for the new thread.

Question, is it going to make a huge difference if i don't temp while AF is here?? I'm at my parents with the kids till sunday night and i left my thermometer at home. Plus, I'm waking up 3 hours earlier that i ussualy do. I'll start back up again on Monday.

Also, if you do temp earlier than usual, is there a method to calculate what it WOULD be at your normal time?? thanks girls

Congrats to all of the BFPs - we're on a roll!

I'm on my way home to visit my family for a long (and much needed) weekend. I brought my thermometer but not planning on temping (no one knows we're TTC) nor am I planning on testing (I'm 9DPO today - will be 13 DPO when I get home). I think I just need to relax a bit and take it easy. I always get myself so hyper around this time in the cycle, so I think that I'm of the thinking "whatever will be will be". After all, taking my temperature at this point in the game isn't going to get me pregnant, right? And after last month's craziness of my temperature skyrocketing AND get my period in the same day (what a cruel joke) I think I'd just rather stay in the dark. So I'll make sure to report back when I'm home from my trip. Good luck to all the next testers!!

Hi ladies. It totally feels like a Friday to me - I wish it were! I'm on CD8, nothing happening. I finished the Clomid yesterday and am so glad. I've been having major hot flashes at night with it and am waking up drenched in sweat. I hope that goes away now. DH and I are BDing for fun and will continue to BD over the weekend just in case I O before I go for my u/s on Tuesday.

Kimmer, I'm sorry the witch showed.

Deanna, I'm sorry the house turned into a bust. What a jerk! We lost the first house we bid on, too, for a reason very similar to that. But we went right back out and found our home the next weekend! Good luck.

mayham, good luck waiting. Optimism is hard to come by sometimes, but I will think some happy thoughts for you!

Mrs R, don't get frustrated! My temps sometimes stayed the same for a few days at a time. I don't think it's anything to worry about. You're looking for a pattern over the course of weeks, not days. Just keep on going and I'm sure you'll see a change.

jeant, how awesome! I will be sure to check it out, it looks interesting! Good luck in your pregnancy journey.

charliezangel, I don't think it's a big deal at all to skip temping during AF. If you do temp earlier, just add .10 for every half hour difference. So if you're temping at 6 am instead of 9, add .6 to your 6 am temp to get what it would have been at 9. Make sense?

ausi2b, enjoy the break from temping. It's definitely good sometimes! And have a great weekend away.

Just reporting for duty. Sorry about AF, Kimmer...I know how it feels!

I hate yall lost the house, Deanna, but I agree with everybody else. That isn't the only great house around. You'll find yours!

I am at CD 18, 4 DPO. I got crosshairs CD 14, which I am greatful for! We covered our bases this month. I will be so disappointed if we did "everything right" and still BFN. I am feeling kinda crappy today...kinda achey like the flu is coming on or something....NO!!! We are out of school tomorrow (I work at a school) but we are due for an ice storm Friday night/Sat morning (in Arkansas we get ice storms, not blizzards or snow storms). It may shape up to be a crappy weekend. At least DH will be home this weekend. He has offcially worked his last night shift! He starts days Sunday! YAY!

CD 30, and I got a + OPK!!! I bought 20 test strips at the beginning of my cycle, and I have exactly one left, so I was feeling like I would never get a +!

We DTD last night, and we'll do it again once DH gets home. I'm so happy to have gotten the timing right despite my long cycle. :D

Should we use Pre Seed? I had EWCM yesterday, but I haven't noticed any today.

charliezangel - I never temp during AF. If you sometimes O really early, you might want to temp just to make sure you have a clear coverline before O, but I don't have that problem. I didn't temp until CD 8 this cycle.

Threadmistress, can you please move me to waiting to O? Thanks!

Unfortunately AF is here for me. My cycle was 28 days which is shorter than they have been (averaging 30-31). But, at least AF didn't have the audacity to show up late, so that is the bright side of things.

mimieliza - That's great you got a + OPK so you know your bd timing is good! I've never tried Pre Seed, so I can't help you out there, sorry. I'm thinking i might try it soon, do you think it's worth it?

Delaney21 - as much as I try to say I'm patient and not obsessing, I really think it's not possible to have a patient 2ww. Hope the rest flies by for you!

Jess71903 - I hope your good timing gets you a BFP this cycle! I know how it feels to think we did everything "right" and then not get the results... I hope that's not the case for you!

gymwidow - thank you for the happy thoughts :) I'm glad you're done with the Clomid for now and can get to the fun part. I know we had our HSGs around the same time, and unfortunately it didn't do the trick the first cycle after for me, either. They still say the next few months after are good, so let's hope that works for us!

ausi2b - have a fun time with your family! That's good you'll take a break from temping... and that IS so cruel your temp spiked the day you got AF last time

charliezangel - sounds like with all of the different factors, you should just take a break from temping while you're gone. If you resume when you're back, that should give you enough days to establish a pattern before O.

jeant - Congrats on getting published! That does explain your little data analysis here at cc :)

MrsR - sorry I can't help you, my thermometer only goes to the tenths.

My DH and I had a long talk tonight about TTC and where we are at. We have decided to take a break from the charting and the trying for now. Over the last few weeks I have been trying to lose a bit of weight and I have realized that i need to devote a bit more time and energy to that before I will be healthy enough to conceive. I'm sad to leave it for now, but I know that when I do get a handle on some health issues, it will be better for me and our future babies.

I wish you guys the best of luck! Thanks for all of the support you have given me the past months.

Thank you for all the kind words concerning the house. I am slowly getting over it. I am still in shock about the owners actions though but that too shall pass. We weren't going to officially look until this fall but we just happened to see this listing and we just couldn't resist. In hindsight I guess we should have  .

Concerning TTC, I am on CD10 with no sign of AF on its way and by signs I mean no spotting and none of some "other things" that would be TMI. Those two "things" would definitely be present right now if AF was on its way. Either way this is a good thing because either a) I am pregnant or b) my lp is getting longer. Also on the upside (no pun intended) my temp went up today.... 98.4 from 98.2 yesterday..not a big temp rise but one none the less so there is hope. Now if I can only wait to test. I will test on Sunday if the old hag hasn't arrived. With my luck I will be the one who has to have a blood test to confirm pregnancy.

Question: What is everyones definition of Nausea? I am have been having morning nausea but not enough to have to use the restroom. I know that the typical rise in progesterone during a normal 2ww can cause nausea but I just wondered what everyone else considers nausea to be. I do notice that as soon as I put anything into my stomach...even a cracker... it feels better for a few minutes and then the nausea comes back.

I get out of work at noon today so I will be back for the midday chat. Have a great morning ladies!!!!!!!!

I think I may have jumped the gun a little bit with my O prediction. Usually my temp drops pretty low and then I O and it jumps back up. I had the temp drop with an increase following it, so I thought for sure I O'ed. But today my temp dropped again. So I have no idea what's going on right now. Maybe I jinxed myself by calling my O a little early.

Congrats to bunnybeth, quartercentury, and michellerenee:) Here's to a happy and healthy 9 months.

I am thinking that I ovulated (had my 2 positive OPK's on Valentine's Day and Wed), but not sure so we will cover our bases one more time tonight. I didn't chart this month. I wanted to take the stress away and not to mention I have been so stuffed up that taking a temp. is difficult. With the HSG and moving onto Clomid if this isn't our month, I just figured I need to know let things happen and quit worrying. However I will temp next month, if my nose ever clears out.

Threadmistress can you please move me to testing week of Feb. 28th. Thanks

Hi all. Some good news = last night I slept with no hot flashes! Woohoo! I did wake up once to find I had kicked all the covers off, but I wasn't sweating. Yay! I woke up about a half hour before my alarm went off and never got quite back to sleep, but I still temped at my normal time and got a higher result. I think I may discard the temp, since I know I was "up" for a while first. DH and I are beginning our BDfest this weekend, just in case I happen to O early, before my u/s on Tuesday.

charliezangel, a regular thermometer isn't the same as a BBT one. Just wait till you're home. During this part of your cycle, you don't need to be as concerned with temps anyway.

Jess71903, good luck during your 2WW! I hope your weekend doesn't turn out that bad.

mimieiliza, great!!! I hope you caught that egg!

mayham, I'm sorry. I hope this next cycle does it. For us both!

Sare, we will miss you. Good luck in your weight loss journey. I've been there, done that and know how tough it can be, but also how rewarding. I'll be thinking of you!

Deanna, I guess nausea to me is just feeling queasy, like I'm going to, well, you know... Maybe the stress of the house stuff is affecting you? Stress like that can cause all kinds of physical problems. Of course, I hope instead it's m/s on its way!

Delaney, ugh, how frustrating. Have you been using OPKs?

jody, good luck in your 2WW! I really hope you finally get your BFP this month!

Boy, I thought I'd be too busy to agonize over this 2ww.

Please don't think I'm crazy. I'm at 5dpo today and having weird symptoms. Lastnight we were woken up by crazy storms around midnight. Realized I had to go to the bathroom. I *never* go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

So I get up this morning and eat my breakfast, only to be slightly nauseous afterward. I fed the dogs, sat back down at the table and proceeded to have a hot flash! My stomach was so upset that I couldn't finish my one cup of coffee - again, that *never* happens.

Seriously, am I crazy here?

Question of the Day:

Do you think DPO 10 is to early to test and get a result?? The reason I ask is because I know I said I wasn't testing until Weds, when hubby was home, but since we are leaving for FL for a month next weekend, if I test on Tues, and it is positive, there is a good chance of being able to get in to see my doctor before we leave.

Ericka_Jarett
02-17-2006, 08:43 AM
Bellefior - testing on DPO10, is not too early for some, but it is for others. I tested on DPO10 and got a negative, I tested on DPO12 and got a positive. I was going to test on DPO11, but was out of tests.

Jenzen01

Good morning, TTCers!

Bellefior - I like to test early and often. :D If I am pg, I want to know ASAP so I can take care of myself. I've decided not to avoid caffeine/alcohol during the 2ww, but I want to quite immediately if I am pg. I'd say test on 10 DPO, but don't get discouraged if it's -.

Gymwidow - I'm glad the clomid side effects are better now. I was looking at your info at the beginning of the thread - I was wondering what led you to see a doctor after you started TTC? I'm wondering, since I O so late and unpredictably, if I should make an appt now or wait until I've been TTC for six months.

No temp jump today, so I'm wondering if I'll get another + OPK. At least that gives us another day to BD. :) I hope I really O. If I get all these + OPKs and then don't O, I'll be very frustrated. Does that happen to anyone?

gymwidow
02-17-2006, 11:33 AM
mimieiliza, I actually ended up doing testing for a totally different reason. While my charts from Feb.-June last year did show that I wasn't O'ing with any pattern, my doc had told me to give it time b/c everything was "probably okay" even after I told him about my odd charts and intermittent midcycle spotting. I called him again in August b/c the spotting wasn't going away - I spotted every day for 6 full weeks without getting true AF. I went for a checkup because of that and they did blood tests and an u/s (Sept.) which showed that I wasn't O'ing and had PCOS. After that, since we had the diagnosis, we went ahead and did an HSG (Oct.) and SA (Nov.) so we could start Clomid. During my first Clomid cycle (Nov.) I was referred to an RE and have been with him since.

I actually feel really lucky now and kind of glad that I had all the spotting issues. That led me to find out we had problems a lot earlier than we would have if we had waited the prescribed amount of time. I think if you are worried you might have issues, it's worth at least a phone call to your doc (and maybe a couple of others) to see what they have to say about doing at least bloodwork. That's so uninvasive and easy to do, I think it's worth it.

Good luck!

Threadmistress: Please move me back to waiting to O

I don't know what's going on. My charts are usually very predictable. I feel like an idiot for calling my O after a temp jump with 2 high temps, but I had all the signs of O and I thought it was it. I'm getting very frustrated. I've been off the pill for a year now and still nothing.

I'm sorry things are so confusing, Delaney! I never imagined this TTC journey would be so emotionally tough. I just thought you had sex a couple of times without any contraceptive and BAM, you get a baby 9months later! I was SO wrong! Have you been to your Dr? I am thinking if it's been a year since BC, you can get your dr. to do some tests or something.

Hi ladies. I haven't been around much this month since dh and i have been out of town. I need opinions on something though...

I don't have a chart filled out for this month since we were out of town for a good portion of my cycle. I know about when i ovulate which is between cd16 and cd20. The latest i could be is 12 dpo and the earliest is 8 dpo or anywhere in between.

This morning on a whim i took a hpt and strained to see what i thought was a very faint line. I thought i was losing my mind and wishful thinking was blurring my vision so i went out and bought a walgreens brand digital. I don't know how other digital tests work since i vowed never to use one unless i tested positive on a different test. But on the Walgreens brand you slide the test strip into the digital reader and when the test is over you remove it. It came up NOT PREGNANT but when i pulled the test strip out i thought i saw a faint line on the test strip.

Has this happened to anyone else? Could a faint line on the digital test strip mean BFP even if the reader read NOT PREGNANT? I could see getting a faint line on 1 hpt but on 2?

I guess i am in a holding pattern until the morning... someone help get me through the wait!

Ericka_Jarett
02-19-2006, 11:46 AM
Just to chime in on the digital tests. Make sure you read the directions. I know on the clearblue easy digital test you can only go by the pregnant or not pregnant, when you eject the test you see lines like a regular test, but you are told to disregard those lines as they are just for the testing. Wait a few days or get a 2 pack of anything test (digital or non, if digital I would say he CBE digital)

Lilla
02-19-2006, 11:46 AM
Dlj Congrats!! H&H 9 months!

ellidew With my last pregnancy, my first (and verrrry faint) BFP was with a First Response. I ran to Walgreens to buy a couple other tests to see if those came up with BFP's as well. One of the ones I bought was a digital. I used the digital and it came up "Not Pregnant" but there was a second line on the stick when I removed it. (I think I was about 13dpo.) Every other non-digital test I took was a BFP and eventually I broke down took another digital that read "Pregnant" after another few days. So, based on my experience and what I've heard others say, I think the digitals are less reliable to use early on. I'd say get yourself a regular HPT and try it again. Fingers crossed!! Sounds like this is it for you!!!

I'm still just plugging along here (im)patiently waiting for the next week to go by. My temps keep going up and each day I have more and more hope that this is it. I have a feeling if AF shows, I'm going to take it pretty hard. Ugh, it's going to be so hard because I'm going to be tempted to test all week!

I hope it is a bfp! I've never gotten a false positive before and would be even more disappointed if i didn't end up being pg. I took an accuclear (and came clean to dh who said "i knew you were hiding something" not being able to lie isn't necessarily a bad quality but it spoils the fun sometimes ;))

I took an accuclear test and it was a BFN. I drank a liter of water about an hour/hour and a half before that so i don't know how accurate the results are. I am going to wait to test again until the morning. That way if i get a second line i have another backup test to confirm!

Waiting impatiently until then...

ellidew- are those the strips from the digital, or the other test? I really hope this is it for you, but I think I have seen a thread before about not putting any stock in the lines on the strips for the digital tests. DEFINITELY go get one of the more sensitive non-digital tests (I like Equate) and test again. From what I understand, those digital tests aren't as sensitive. I don't want to be a downer, but I don't want you to think you're pg if you're not either! Get a more sensitive test and let us know!!! Best of luck to you!

mimieliza hey, that's my b-day!!! I was thinking the same thing, but AF showed and I'll probably O the time of my b-day. I hope you get that birthday gift :D

I went back to temping today, but i didn't wake up until 10am. 2 hours later than I ussually temp. Plus with 4 days of no temping, i'm probably all outta whack. I'm gonna get an OPK tomorrow prob at the dollar store. According to the charts, I shoul start testing on CD12, but last cycle I Oed on CD20, so i don't think I would have enough tests because the standard comes with 7. Would it be a big deal to start testing on CD13??

mimieliza

charliezangel - Yay, a birthday buddy! :) Okay, I O pretty late in my cycle (this time I O'd on CD31). I started using OPKs on CD 15, right after I started having some fertile quality CF. I went through 20 OPKs this cycle. I bought them online, so they were around $1.10 each. I guess just be aware if you tend to O later that you could go through more than one package of OPKs.

I'm always irritated by the fact that the OPKs they sell at regular stores contain seven. Geez, if I could guess when I was going to O within seven days, I wouldn't need the stupid things!

I'm at 10 DPO, took a test this morning, and got a BFN (yes I know 10 DPO is still early). This weekend however, was just weird, as I had some major gas all weekend long that wouldn't quit and major heartburn. Yesterday morning, I felt a slight bit of nausea as I attempted to bite into the English muffin at my ILs, which thankfully went away as soon as I got it down, but it could have been due to the fact that I took my vitamin on an empty stomach. Since my temp went down slightly today, I have a feeling AF may be on her way, but I will be getting some more HPTs to keep in the house (gotta love the self scan checkout at the CVS near my office). This is my longest cycle yet since stopping the BCPs, but it is also my latest O day yet as well, so I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

Bellefior Hang in there! Looks like we're at the same point in the 2ww. When do you plan to test again?

9DPO for me and I'm really bumming today. My temps looked so good and then this morning I had a drop. I know it doesn't necessarily mean AF is on her way, but I was just very discouraged to see that after such a temp rise the past week. I am hoping beyond belief that my temp goes back up tomorrow. :(

Hello ladies,

Sorry for being MIA, my BIL passed away last Monday, so things have been a bit crazy. Thank you for everyones thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. The family really appreciates it.

Unfortunately during this time AF showed up as well. Threadmisstress - could you please move me to waiting to O. Thanks! I believe I am on CD9 - didn't have much of a chance to temp during the last week or so...so this cycle might be no good.

Good luck to everyone testing!!

Hey ladies. Sorry for no SO's today, I'm just feeling kind of emotional about this whole TTC thing and not that talkative. But I read through and am sending hugs to all, especially Jessie - I'm so sorry about your BIL. I hope you and your family can get through this rough time together.

Today is my CD13 and I had an u/s this morning. Everything looks great - my uterine lining is at 7.5 mm and I have two follies in my right ovary, 23mm and 25mm. I got my HCG injection and we'll do round 2 of IUI tomorrow morning. I'm actually feeling hopeful and optimistic this month, unlike last month. I'm just emotional at the same time. It never gets easier, does it?

jessied1025 I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I will be praying for your family. I just lost my grandfather a week ago, so I understand what you are going through. I also had a tough tim with my charting because of it. I am CD 6 and just started temping this cycle.

OK, I have a q for those of you using OPKs. I am going to buy them on www.saveontests.com. But you can get the test strips (you dip into unrine for 5 secs for result) or the midstreams (tests in a plastic holder and you hold in urine stream for 5 secs). Which do you think are better?? The strips are significantly cheaper, but i want to make sure i get whatever will give me the most acurate results. advice??

(delurking since I'm not charting this cycle)...

But charliezangel I have the strips from Save on Tests and they gave me an accurate result this month. I've used TONS b/c I wasn't O'ing but now I am and they were accurate based on my most recent progesterone test. Good luck.

I'll probably be back to charting next week if I get a negative HPT this weekend, at least I know I'm O'ing now so charting isn't as frustrating. :)

charliez, I just buy the ones that you dip into the cup. For the longest time, I didn't think that they worked very well, because the only test lines I was seeing were evaps. But, the closer I got the the first positive OPK I got this month the lines started appearing. Then I ran out.

So, my advice is to order MANY of them. I used two a day, so maybe that's why I ran out faster, I don't know.

gymwidow, hoping everything goes smoothly for you! This is your month, girl! :D

OK, so being in my first month of TTC, I need some help to keep me level-headed. Granted I've been travelling, but here's how my weekend went (I'm at 8dpo now)...

At 6dpo, my temp dipped by 0.6 degrees and bounced back the next morning - 5dpo, 6dpo and 7dpo weren't on my normal schedule, but all three were on the same schedule, so can be compared as relative.

7dpo - spotting

Way sore bb's - I love to sleep on my stomach, and couldn't the last 2 nights. And I'm not sick, but am definitely queasy off and on. I'll get real hungry, and 3 bites in can't stomach another bite.

Anyway, I'm back home now, so my time of temping will normalize again. I'm trying so hard not to get excited, but it's seeming like good signs to me...any thoughts???

Thanks!

Charliez another vote for using a non-digital pregnancy test. The digitals usually require a higher HcG Level than the non-digitals to come up positive, so if you are testing early, go with the non-digitals.

Will someone please look at my chart and tell me what they think? I've been charting for about 6 months and I thought I had it all figured out.

I'm very frustrated this month. I have a normal 26-28 day cycle, with O around CD 14. I thought I O'ed on CD 17, but then I had another drop in temp. This morning I had a big rise in temp, but AF is due in the next day or two so I don't know why my temp spiked. Am I having an anovulatory cycle this month?

ETA: I messed around with my chart a little. I discarded the temps at the beginning of the month because I was sick. Then I tried putting in a fake temp on CD 23 and as soon as I put in a temp it give me O on CD17. What do you think?

Sorry to those that AF showed up for.

Well tomorrow is 2 weeks since I called the Dr to get Provera, so I am supposed to test in the morning to make sure I'm not pg (even though I know by my charts I'm not!) and then get the pills to kick-start AF. But now this afternoon I had what I would consider EWCM, and for the past 2-3 days I've been having mild cramp-like feeling in my lower abdomen (not sure if it's uterine cramps or not.. they are very mild and vague...) so I don't know if I should wait a couple more days and see what happens or if I should just go ahead with the meds... currently on CD70). What do you guys think? TIA!

delaney-i think that you could be having an anvo cycle and I only say that b/c last week at the dr appt i had he said that women who have normal cycles can sometimes have anvo cycles and everything be ok. I am by no means a chart expert but it looks like an anvo cycle if you compare it to others on FF. I know this is probably not what you want to hear and i know how frustrating it is to think you know what is going on with your body and then to have it give you the finger so to speak....

For those of you following our home search sage…the mystery continues. We saw a for sale by owner” sign on the front lawn of the house that we lost that was supposed to have already been sold. Well, we called and the owner called us back. He told us that he still has a buyer but he put the sign out on the advice of his lawyer because his previous real estate agent could possibly sue if he didn’t show he was trying to sell the home on his own. We also found out that where his agent told us (after the fact) that he himself was not getting any commission in fact he was expecting a 3% commission that the home owner was not aware of. The home owner is (or should I say “was”…he doesn’t want the other home anymore) buying one of the homes that the agent has been trying to sell for awhile so the agent was giving him a deal (or so he thought). Anyway we think the homeowner selling his home to someone else was a ploy to get out the contract (unfortunately he can’t admit to it) and we were caught up in the middle of it. By the way the owner was very very apologetic and said that he and his wife hadn’t been able to sleep for the past few days knowing what they did to us. Unfortunately he didn’t have our last names so he couldn’t call us. He was very glad that we contacted him. He even called us twice yesterday to let us know that there are two more house for sale in his neighborhood. We think the 3% would have gone to the buyers agent but because we don’t have any agent the sellers agent thought he should get the three percent hence the reason why the agent was holding back showing anyone else the house before we put a bid on it. We even found out that is he decided to sell it to us within 3 months of his contract being null and void the agent could sue for the 3% because he was his agent when we met the owner. It is so crazy!!!

Once again sorry for hijacking the thread. Nothing exciting here...just cd3. Waiting for ovulation. Time for work. Thank god it is a short week.

Hi ladies,

Just checking in :) I've been lazy about charting so far this month...I keep falling back to sleep with the thermometer in my mouth and I don't think I'm getting an accurate reading. Today I temped and stayed awake for it ;) I'm on CD9. I'm going to try to be good about temping the rest of the month. I've got DH gearing up for a BD-fest...I told him to eat his protein, he's going to need the energy ;)

Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Thanks girls. I ended up buying a combo pack of O and PG test strips from www.saveontests.com. I get 20 OPKs and 5 PG tests. That should get me through about 3 cycles, and hopefully i'll get them in time to start on this cycle. I'm CD 8 right now and should start testing w/the OPK on CD 12. I seriously sprained my ankle this weekend, so BDing is gonna be tough, but my dr specifically recommended that we don't stop TTC because the stress of not getting PG will make the healing process longer. Interesting...

Hi ladies. I'm all loaded up - the IUI went fine. No pain, just mild cramps, but nothing bad. DH's count was good and motility was excellent. The doc told me to go home and BD tonight just to up our chances a bit. DH said he doesn't mind! I start prog. supps in 2 days and will continue those until about 12DPO, when I'll go in for a blood pg test. Ah, welcome to the 2WW.

Mrs Jackson, thanks, I feel very hopeful for this month!

lege, welcome! Those could all be very good signs! Crossing my fingers for you...

cowgirl, thanks!

bunnybeth, lol, thanks!!! I had a little chat with both the girls and the boys while laying down after my IUI. Hopefully they'll hear us both!

Delaney, your chart is hard to figure out this month. Even without those high temps early on, the low temps at the end make it look annovulatory. I hate to say it, but the only thing to do at this point might be to wait and see if AF shows up in a few days. I'm sorry! I know how frustrating it can be.

ABirney, thanks. Are you planning to go in to your doc for a blood test? Because that would show whether or not you ovulated. Personally, I would want the Provera and the chance to start over with a fresh cycle. Even if you did O this late in your cycle, it might not be a 100% great one since it's so late.

Deanna, what a weird situation! I'm glad you're not wrapped up in some strange kind of deal with this guy.

Lilla, thanks, good luck to you! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

BethIrish, lol. I hope your DH is up to it! (hee)

Hi ladies! Just popping in - I'm on the road for work. Just hanging in here...my temp stayed high today, with a regular temping time. So we'll see...just have to get through 2 more mornings :-) Thanks to everyone for the encouragement & grounding. Now that there's any site of it being a reality, DH has gone from being a little "whatever" to being totally excited. I keep reminding him that this could be months, but he's really cute about it. His mom is living with us at the moment (LONG story  ) and she doesnt' know what's going on, but he's very careful to check any food she makes - like last night she made seared tuna, so he made sure to cook mine all the way through, just in case :)

thanks for the recovery wishes girls. Thankfully, i still have a couple weeks before Oing (well, like 1.5 weeks) so hopefully i won't be in too much pain by then. Today I managed to agrivate it even more. I went to the DR this morning and he told me no work for the rest of the week, possibly into next week and started me on laser therapy. It was just starting to feel a little better today and i could start to move my toes and move my ankle again w/o an excruciating amount of pain. So DH drops me off at home and goes to work (after bringing me everything i need and piling it up by the couch!!!! i love him so much). So around 6:45 my ankle starats to hurt so i was gonna take a pain pill. well last night i took one on an empty stomach and it made me extreamly nauseas so i decided to make my dinner before i took the pill (dh doesn't come home till 9:30pm from work, otherwise i would have waited for him). So I make my food, bring it to the living room, and realize i forgot a fork. So i hop back to the kitchen on my cruches. I'm standing at the sink and i start to lose my balance. I try to catch it and it makes me wobble even more. I end up instinctivly catching myself on my bad ankle...all 240LBs of me coming down on that 1 foot. I shreiked so loud, I'm surprised the entire neighboorhood didn't hear. Then I fell directly on my bum. Needless to say, I am in so much pain and my foot won't stop tingling. SOOOOO, hopefully I o later next week or the week after...it will make things easier.

Okay, if you want to see the ugliest chart ever, go ahead and take a peek at mine. That thing is horrendous! I hate it.

Why are my temps so close to my coverline? Does anyone else experience this? Do your post O temps reflect how strongly you O'ed? I hope not, but I though that you wise girls might have some insight on that.

I'm becoming very frustrated that I can't call my O date at even around the same time every month. It's no wonder that we're not pregnant yet. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, I just wish that my body would stick to one thing. Short cycle, loooonnnnngg cycle. Make up your damn mind. It gets old real fast.

The OPK's I'm using are positive one day, negative the next. I can use one a week later, and it's positive again. I just don't get it.

I think that if we don't end up pregnant this cycle, we're going to take a break from charting. I'll continue using OPK's, and we might try some pre-seed, and possibly the instead cups. We'll see. As of right now, I'm about fed-up with TTC.

Hi Ladies,

I have a little time for a couple replies...

charliezangel Sorry to hear about your little mishap last night. Hopefully with some rest and pain meds you will be feeling better soon. Take care!

delaney Here's hoping that next month is the month for you!

ABirney Sorry to hear that your doctor wasn't in. Hang in there!

lege I have my fingers crossed that you temps stay high and you get a big positive this month!

CD12 for me. I have had major pains in my right side since Saturday. I usually get these pains every month before ovulation, but this month is worse than ever. So far I have been taking advil at 4 to 5 times a day and last night the pain was so bad I could barely sleep! Does anyone else get these types of pains that last more than a day or 2? What do you take to make it better?

Thank you also for all your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. DH has been having a hard time with it this week. I think it is getting back to our normal life and knowing that his brother is no longer with us. Plus he is getting sick. Poor thing!

Hope you all have a good rest of the day!

gymwidow

1 freakin' day past O and already I'm imagining things. I have had mild O-like cramps, but different somehow, off and on since last night, but in the center of my lower belly. It's probably just lingering O pains, but of course I'm already picturing all kinds of magical things happening on my insides! We BD'd last night for added help, but I have to admit it was hard to get into it. I don't feel well this week and all I wanted to do was sleep. I guess this is how DH must feel sometimes when I ask him to perform on command.

DH said he feels really good about this cycle and thinks it will be it for us. I don't want to say that I feel the same, but I definitely feel hopeful like this *could* be it! It's going to be a loooooooooong 2WW!

lege, thanks. My DH went through a similar transformation after we really started TTC. He asked me already this morning when we can test and was so disappointed when I told him not till a week from Monday!

jeant, thanks, rolling in it now!

Delaney, thanks! I see that FF gave you crosshairs again. I hope you get some answers soon!

ABirney, thanks! I hope you can get in touch with your doc today. What's your plan for trying next cycle?

charliezangel, yikes! I'm so sorry! I hope you feel better soon!

Mrs Jackson, ugh, I hate it when my chart looks all wacky like that. I hope this was truly your O so you can move forward one way or another.

jessie1025, I'm so sorry you're having all that pain. Not fun. I hope they go away soon. Continued hugs and prayers for you and DH as you adjust to life without his brother. I can't imagine what it's like. I'll be thinking of you!

Sorry ladies but my home computer is broken so I have not had time to do propert SOs . . . quick question and hopefully I can come back later . . .

Okay, so I woke up this morning at my normal time to temp and discovered I had kicked off my blankets and I was cold. Took my temp and it was very low (96.87).

After I took my temp I went back to sleep for an hour (with my covers on:p) and when I woke up again I retook my temp (jumped to 97.22). I know that for every half hour later you take your temp you should subtract .1 so my "adjusted" temp is 97.02.

My question is which temp should I use for my chart -- the temp I took when I first woke up and was cold or the "adjusted" temp. Since my "adjusted" temp isn't after 3-4 hours of sleep, I was not sure if I should use it . . .

Thanks ladies . . .

MrsJackson - I'm sorry that this has been so frustrating for you. I hate to tell you this, but I am not yet convinced that you have O'd this cycle. It looks like your body is gearing up to O (hence the positive OPK) but its just not doing it yet. SO frustrating! Keep hanging in there and keep us updated. I also looked at your previous charts and it looks like your first chart (or your short cycle as you called it) was what I call a "pretty chart." Were you on BCP before this? Just asking because I had the "prettiest chart EVER" my first month off of BCP and I think it is because I still had the hormones from the pills in me. Just a thought. But I am sorry you are frustrated - I am too!!!!

I am so excited! I think I actually O'd and on CD17 no less! Our BD timing was good, but on the day I O'd, I had a vaginal ultrasound to rule out PCOS. I am just wondering if that will be a problem. Ladies, looks like this cycle isn't the one :( . I've started to spot today and fully expect AF to arrive either later today or tommorrow at the latest (also got another BFN this morning, no surprise in light of the spotting shortly thereafter). I really thought this month was the month because this was my longest cycle yet.

The good thing (only good thing) about this is that we are leaving for a month long vacation in FL on Sunday, and I will actually be able to enjoy a few drinks poolside while I am down there--trying to look at the bright side of things, you know???

I've decided to leave the OPKs and thermometer behind while on vacation, since I won't have access to a computer anyway, so you won't see any changes on my chart for the next month. Good luck to everyone who is testing in the next few weeks.

Hi Ladies!

CC Name: RubberSoul
Me: Ann/29
DH: Jack/29
Married since: 10/22/05
Off BCP since: Jan. 2006
TTC since: Feb. 2006
Charting since: Feb. 2006
Known issues/test results: chem. preg. in Jan.
Current status: waiting to test 3/6 - 3/12

My DH and I were not going to start actively TTC until later in the year, but we had a chemical pregnancy last cycle. That made us both realize we were ready to go ahead and start now.

My DH currently travels a lot for his job. He works in Canada for 20 days and comes home for 10 days. It is not the best schedule for TTC, but right now his schedule is timed right around my O dates if they stay the same (fingers crossed). I also had concerns about being preggo with him being gone so much, but I just don't want to wait to TTC. We figure if we get pregnant we will start looking at jobs around here for him when we get to that point. Does anyone else have a DH with a less than ideal job situation for TTC and being around if you get pregnant relatively quickly?

Congrats Lilla. H&H 9 months to you.

Welcome to our hubmle home RubberSoul. Lets hope your stay is short and sweet!!!

Well, CD9. I had Watery CM yesterday, and today just a little bit of creamy CM. I'm waiting on my OPKs from www.saveontests.com and they couldn't be taking longer (yes, i know i only ordered them 2 days ago!!!) I REALLY hope this is our month. If my cycle goes about the same as last month, i O on my B-day!!!! That would be a killer present. But, we''ll see..my cycle went a little long last time.

Update on my ankle... I went to the DR today and they stoll hadn't gotten the X-rays from the hospital so they took some in the office. He said that my ankle is definetly not broken, but he sees a possible hairline fracture at the base of my second toe. This I figured since this toe is the most swolen spot on my entire foot. It looks like a little sausage and the bottom of it is as round as a decent sized grape!!! So the DR did some laser therapy on it and i left the ace bandage off for the majority of the day since it was starting to itch pretty bad. So then I get up to go make lunch and i tried the step down....YAY...I can walk. Well, hardly, but if i use my cruches i can step lightly on my left foot without a lot of pain. It's mostly just tingly in my heel and toes. My ankle only really hurts when i turn it the wrong way or when i have my foot entirely flat. SOOO, it seems to be getting better. hopefully by monday I'll be good to go back to work because i am so sick of sitting at home!!!!

8 DPO here, I think. BIG dip yesterday and rebound today.

My 30th Birthday is also March 4th and my parents will be down to help me celebrate. Lets hope we can also celebrate a BFP at the same time!

Time to roll around in some of that potent baby dust.

Well...I'm still holding out, but feel like things aren't looking so good...my temp took a dive today (11dpo) and I had some spotting last night. We're planning to test tomorrow, but I'm less hopeful...any thoughts??? Am I right in thinking the spotting and/or temp drop aren't good signs???

Rubbersoul - welcome!!!

charliez - SO glad to hear the ankle's getting better! I sprained mine (again) a few years ago and was miserable, so am so glad you're on the road to recovery...

Delaney - YAY!!!

thanks again for the well wishes girls. I am feeling much better today. I'm gonna try to get to the DR by myself today so DH doesn't have to leave work. I'd attempt a walmart trip, but i don't think i'm ready for that yet. We were planning on going to Rennaisance Festival on Sunday, but we'll see. I definetly can't spend the whole day walking if it am still supporting myself on cruches.

OK, so CD10 and I'm showing more signs of fertile CM. I'm gonna check the mail today to see if my OPKs came in and hopefully, i will have them to start testing on Sunday. I'm so excited, I really feel like this is our month. I never thought that i would be this way about it, but i'm really giddy!!!

Hi ladies. Nothing happening here - 2DPO (or 3 if you believe FF) and no more cramping. Just waiting!

Mrs R, about your temp from yesterday - either way, the temp is really close, so I don't think it makes a huge difference which one you use.

Ilovemygeek, I have no idea how/if lube can affect those little guys. I would assume the doc's office doesn't use a sperm-killing kind, so hopefully it won't make any difference at all!

Lilla, congrats!!! H&H 9 months to you! :D

Bellefior, hugs. I hope you enjoy your nice long vacation!!!

RubberSoul, welcome. I hope you're not here for long! ;)

charliezangel, I'm glad to hear your ankle isn't broken. I hope you're back to normal soon.

Delaney, woohoo! I hope you caught that egg!

Jess71903, good luck waiting and testing!

giry, ooh, what a wonderful bday gift that would be! If we get pg this cycle, I will be due 2 weeks after my 30th birthday and I can't think of any other present I'd want this much. :)

lege, it ain't over till it's over. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

RubberSoul
02-24-2006, 09:27 AM
Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!

This is my first month charting so I don't have a clue if this is normal for me, but my temps have been flat for the past few days. I am probably overanalyzing, but that just seems odd to me. My pre-O temps would fluctuate and post-O they aren't at all. Maybe my body just regulates itself really well after ovulation...who knows.

I can't remember from TCOYF what she said about low progesterone and temp's. Does someone else know so I can stop obsessing :o ?

charlizeangel...I hope your ankle heals fast. I am prone to hurting myself so I know how annoying it is to not have normal use of your limbs.

lege...I have my fingers crossed for you.

Jess71903...I hope AF stays away and you get a BFP!

Lilla - HUGE CONGRATS! How exciting! :)

Bellefior - I'm sorry about AF. :( Have a good trip and enjoy a few poolside drinks. :)

RubberSoul - Welcome! I hope your stay is brief. My DH has a pretty good job situation, but things are not ideal for us financially. After two years of waiting, planning, hemming and hawing, we finally decided it will never be right, and people bring children into the world in all sorts of situations that are less than ideal. What we really honed in on is that we think we will be great parents - we are emotionally ready to do this. I'm sure you and your DH will find a way to make things work.

Giry - I think you're the THIRD March 4 birthday girl! We should make sure to throw ourselves a big party. Those with BFPs can jump up and down and wave them around, and those still waiting can enjoy a margarita. :D

lege - I think you win the "Unusual FPS of the Day" award! :)

Girls, I'm stressed. I have this plan that I'm not going to act pg during the 2ww - physiologically, there's no shared bloodstream, so very little I do will affect the potential embryo. I'm 7DPO, and I had two gin and tonics last night, and I felt SO BAD about it afterwards. I kept worrying that it would make me dehydrated, or raise my temp, or otherwise make conditions unfavorable. I know it's irrational, but I think it's not worth it. I'm supposed to go to a HOT TUB party this weekend. It will be too early to test, and the friends who are throwing it know how much I love their hot tub, so I don't know how to get out of it.

And then, if I get a BFP, I'll be kicking myself for not just relaxing and enjoying myself this weekend. What's a girl to do?

QOTD: What method do you girls use on Fertility Friend? I usually run mine on the advanced, but when I changed it to FAM, it changed my O date and put my at 6DPO. Just curious as to where you guys leave yours??

lege it's not over till it's over! Hope that floating feeling goes away soon... I've felt like that and it's freaky!
mimieliza hope you have a fun weekend anyway! Not sure what to tell you about the hot tub, etc though
Bellefior Sorry about AF... have fun on your trip though!

Well I started my Provera last night (and yes, I'm already moody.... DH said last time I was a bit owly on it too. Anyone else who's taken that have that problem?) I have my annual exam on March 23 and last time I took Provera I got AF about 2 weeks later. So I should be in about my 3rd week of my cycle at my exam (if I counted right). I'll show her my charts and see if she can do some bloodwork or what she would suggest as our next step and go from there. Hopefully I'll get some answers!
Have a great evening all!

mimieliza I too have been trying not to act pregnant in the 2WW. I ate tuna yesterday and I have been having caffine. I don't drink much so that really isn't an issue. I think the hot tub would be the only thing I would stay away from. No shared blood but raising your internal temp that high could be risky. Just my 2 cents.

QOTD I use the Fertility Awareness setting on FF.

mimieliza - I have also been trying to act as though I am not pregnant while in the 2WW. I know that I will be crushed if I act as though I am and then get AF. I have had a glass of wine here and there, but often feel a twinge of guilt. If you go to the party maybe you could just put your feet in or something.

Ericka_Jarret - Thanks for letting me know that other people have flat temp's. I was looking at TCOYF last night to see if that was "normal". It is even better to know another person has experienced the same thing.

QOTD: Since this is my first month charting I didn't even know there were different options until it was pointed out. I was running on advanced, but switched it to FAM. The switch didn't change my chart.

I am just trying to patiently wait to either see AF or be able to test. I am trying to hold out to test until 18 DPO if I make it that far. Last month I tested, got a positive, and was giddy. Then, the next morning took another test and it was negative. Turns out it was a chem. pregnancy. I don't think I can go through that roller coaster again. I hope I have the will power to wait it out!

Well ladies, BFN this morning...followed closely by AF's arrival. I'm disappointed, but when my temp dipped yesterday & I started spotting, I had a strong hunch this wasn't my month...on to next month! (I told DH we're going out for sushi this week!!!)

So I'm back to CD1 - please move me to waiting to O...good luck to everyone else waiting to test!

I probably wont' be back on the boards until tomorrow night - we're going down to DC for my SIL's 30th bday party tonight. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

3/4DPO here. I had more of those O-like cramps last night and a couple this morning. It's silly to say I'm not going to get my hopes up, because of course I'm going to get my hopes up. So I'm just hoping for the best and enjoying the happy daydreams.

lege, hugs to you.

RubberSoul, overanalyzing is easy to do! Try not to worry. Flat temps happen from time to time - nothing to worry about!

mimieliza, I understand how you feel. I also don't want to drastically alter my daily life during the 2WW. One thing I am doing is avoiding caffeine, ever since I read an article last month about how some doctors think it may affect implantation. But I'm trying to go to the gym like normal, eat and drink other stuff like normal, etc. Next weekend we have a party to go to and I'll probably have a drink, just not more than one or so. Can you make some excuse to get out of the hot tub? Maybe "forget" your swimsuit, or even claim AF?

Mrs Jackson, I think I just left FF at whatever the default method is.

ABirney, thanks! I'm glad you're on your way to a fresh cycle. Hopefully your doc will be able to look at your charts and run some tests to see what's going on with you!

Hi ladies. After last weekends false positive i'd completely lost hope.

I'm happy to report that this morning i got a BFP on 3 different kinds of tests. (internet cheapie, walgreens brand digital, and accu clear line test!) I'm almost hesitant to call it until i see a doctor but the digital that said "Pregnant" was pretty convincing!

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. AF hasn't shown up yet, but I feel kinda "full" in my lower abdomen, if that makes any sense. I just kinda thought that 13 DPO should definitely be late enough...especially since there was no hint of a line, but I guess I could be wrong. I just have the same feeling I have for about the last 4 months about it. If it hasn't happened so far it why would this month be any different. Guess thats a loser's attitude...my protection against disappointment maybe. I will keep yall updated. I didn't temp this morning. CD 12 here. I was supposed to start my OPKs today, but haven't gotten them yet so I am debating weather or not to run to the dollar store and pick one up. I REALLY want this to be my month. DH has been a good sport and trying to get in the mood as much as possible (he typically has a low libedo(sp?)). we're trying to BD everyother day right now until I get my OPKs (assuming I could be Oing in the next couple days, but I don't know after last month being so late).

Congrats, Ellidew! A H&H 9 months to you!

I'm still no so sure that I've O'ed. My temps just aren't going up. I realize that last month my temp didn't go up until about 5 DPO, but it still hasn't done that yet, and I'm 6DPO.

Any opinions on if I've even O'ed yet? Anybody else have low post-o temps? This is getting very frustrating to me, but mabye I'm just going back to the way my cycle was in October, when we first started TTC. Who knows.

Any ideas or comments are more than welcome! :D

ETA: I just had a thought pop into my head. DH and I are now dieting. We are doing the low-carb diet. I'm now wondering if the change in diet could affect my O'ing? Anyone think that this is possible?

Good luck catching your eggie, charliez! I hate it when other people can't fall in with your cycle (in your case, the UPS guy!:)). I think DH and I may do the every other day thing too. We both just ran out of gas by O time.

I am on CD 28, 14DPO and no AF yet. Last month, I had spotting at 13DPO and what I called AF by 14. Previous cycles were either the same or earlier, I think. I have been sick, but that wouldn't affect when AF came, would it? If I know I O'd on CD 14? I don't know, I guess Iwill test again in the morning if nothing happens, but I hate to keep testing just to be disappointed.

OK, QOTD. In my head this is TMI, but I know we share so much here...I went to the bathroom and had CM that looked and felt like EWCM (REALLY strechy and wet and a lot of it) but it was WHITE!!! I mean, I have seen EWCM before that had a little bit of milky color in it, but this was white like an eggshell. We BDed last night, but I know it wasn't semen because i held it under water and it stayed the same consistancy (TCOYF says that if it is semen or arousal fluid it will "melt", if it's EWCM or CM at all, it should reamin thick and strechy). Has anyone ever seen this before? If the answer is yes, I'm headed to BD!!!!

Current FPS Symptoms:
Last night I had some very light pink spotting. This morning there was still a little bit there, but not much. But today I'm having a little bit of cramping, more like pokes with a needle type of feeling. It's very strange.
The only spotting that I've had before has been bright red. Like AF color, so this pink stuff is throwing me off.

Happy Monday everyone. I'm at either 5 or 6 DPO and feeling the FPS! Last night I had a severe bout of nausea (but then that could've been because I was just really full from dinner) and then had AF-like cramps for about 15 minutes before bed. One more week till I can go for a blood test.....

ellidew and mimieliza, woohoo, happy and healthy 9 months to you!

Jess71903, sorry about the BFNs. Your chart still looks so pretty! I hope you get a BFP soon!

charliezangel, when do you expect your tests to arrive? BDing every other day should cover you in case you don't go out to get more tests for now. Whether it's white or egg-white, it still is probably fertile CM, so go BD!

Mrs Jackson, what happens to your chart if you discard the CD21 and CD23 temps? Those two are high, which may be what's throwing off the overall pattern. It's hard to tell what's going on!

giry, wow, that's a nice temp jump! Test tomorrow - we need to finish off February with another BFP!

********

Okay, the obsession begins for me today. As I have stated before, I am very type-A and I know this is a bit ridiculous, but here goes . . . I have two thermometers -- one I bought at the beginning of this cycle that I don't particularly like and one I bought around CD 13 that I like a lot (different features like a beep every 4 seconds to tell me I am taking my temp correctly, a light and it takes my temp much quicker than the first thermometer). I have been taking my temperature with both thermometers with the newer one being a "backup" to make sure that I took my temp correctly with the first one and recording the temp from my first thermometer for consistency with this cycle (but am switching to only using the second one with my next cycle (if necessary :p)).

Here is my dilemma if you look at my chart I had a + OPK on Friday and my first day of peak on my fertility monitor on Saturday together with a temperature drop on Saturday. On Sunday I took my temp with the first thermometer and got a temp of 97.09, however when I took my temp immediately afterwards with the second thermometer I got a temp of 97.5:confused:, I took my temp again with the first one to see if maybe I had just positioned it wrong in my mouth the first go around and got a temp of 97.07:(. This morning my temp was 97.74.

So, just to see what was going on, I put in two additional "fake" temps for tomorrow and Wednesday of 97.74 to see what ff would tell me for an O date. With the fake temps I got a dashed crosshair for O'ing on Sunday, however when I changed my Sunday temp to the 97.5 temp (the one I got with the second thermometer), it gave me an O (with no dashed lines) on Saturday. What should I do:confused:. I know the solid red lines are better and it is not like I am making up the 97.5 temp AND all of my other fertility signs (other than CM which did not seem to be present either Saturday or Sunday (yay for Pre-Seed) -- but maybe it was just not externally visible) point to an O date on Saturday . . .

As an aside, I also put in a temp of 97.29 (average of 97.09 and 97.5) on Sunday to see what would happen and again it gave me a solid redline indicating an O date of Saturday . . .

We did BD Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday just to cover all the bases:)

I just found out that some of the FPS I was having last week may not have been symptoms at all - but withdrawal symptoms! I've been on Lexapro for almost a year now, and 10 days ago we cut me back to 1/2 dose to start weaning me off of it. I was doing some digging today and found out that nausea, fatigue, dizziness & "gait instability" are the most common symptoms - which would explain my floating last week...and the fact that I'm still exhausted & floaty!

UGH - drives me crazy that drs tell you there won't be any withdrawal symptoms!!! Can't wait to be off of it completely! :)

I am at 7dpo and already losing the will power to wait until 18dpo to test (if I make it that far). I am obsessively staring at my chart and counting when I could test. I have been having some strange symptoms. I had some crazy vivid dreams this weekend and some sharp stabbing pains in my abdomen today. It is possible these have happened with other cycles, but I just wasn't paying attention to my body then. It is amazing what you notice your body doing when looking for any sign of pregnancy.;)

My temps are still flat. There was a slight rise over the weekend, but it was probably because I took my temp an hour later than usual on Sat. and Sun. I suspect if I had taken it at the normal time it would have been good ole 98.2.

I hope everyone has had a good Monday!

We'll BD tonight and prob tomorrow night since I don't have to work WED or the rest of the week. I will prob O around Sunday or Monday.

MrsR the only advice I can give is stick to one thermometer. If you have been recording the first one for consistency, stick with that through this cycle. Also, keep in mind that with FF and OS, your O datd is an educated guess. Most of the time it is right, but if you got a + OPK on Friday and your FM peaked you on Sat, then you prob Od on Sat afternoon/evening. that would explain why your temp didn't just immediatly Sunday morning. How high were your temps this morning?? That could make all the difference.

OK, so I think I'm having trouble deciphering EWCM and Sticky CM. Yesterday's CM was DEFINETLY EWCM. But today, it is more sticky and less strechy. Although, if I wasnted to, i could clasify it as EWCM, i just don't know. It's very hard for me to tell. My undies did have white on them, but it was also very wet like watery CM tends to be on my undies. I'm just hoping these damn OPKs get here soon. This is the first cycle we'll be using them.

It hasn't been helping things that mother is boasting about how easy it was to get PG. her fave statement "if you looked at me sexy I got PG". And then she tells me she doesn't know why I'm having such a hard time, or why I'm charting, or why i waste my money on OPKs. OMG, we JUST started TTC 2 months ago. Honestly, does she really think every young healthy woman pops out a baby the week after getting of BCP??? I was really annoyed, and then stressed, and then scared that maybe shes right and there is something wrong with us. What blows me away is that my mother is a Doula. She knows everything there is to know about pregnancy and childbirth, but she is completely CLUELESS about how hard getting PG to begin with can be.

ETA: giry76 i'm keeping all things crossable crossed for you. How cool that DH is doing the HPT runs!!!

I got my results back from my pelvic/vaginal ultrasound and no PCOS! :D That is a huge relief! I do have a small cyst on my left ovary that they want to monitor by doing another ultrasound in 6 weeks, but they said it is small and probably inconsequential. Now I can just focus on getting pregnant.

Okay, I left my method setting at FAM. I'm now 10DPO. A little tiny bit of cramping this morning, and a temp jump. The spotting has stopped for now, so I'm hoping that's a good thing.

Hi all. I think I'm coming into the worst part of the 2WW - it's too early to test, but close enough so that I really hope and want to feel some more FPS! I've got none right now. I hope this week hurries up and gets over with soon!

jessied1025, thanks, I hope you caught that egg this month. Your chart looks good! Do you want to be moved out of waiting to O now?

Mrs Jackson, it definitely looks like a clearer O since you discarded those temps. I hope your temp keeps rising!

Mrs R, thanks, I do, too, and I hope we're right! As for your dilemma, well, on one hand it doesn't matter much b/c it's only a difference of a day and you covered all your bases. If your other signs point to a Sat. O and that thermometer has been accurate to this point, then I say just put in the higher temp and let it give you solid crosshairs.

lege, your docs definitely should have told you what the side effects would be!!!

RubberSoul, it's definitely amazing what we feel, and want to feel and can think we feel, during the 2WW. Try to last till 12DPO if you can!

giry76 and pocahontas, hugs. I'm sorry that evil witch showed up.

charliezangel, sorry that your mom is giving you such a hard time. I'm finding that most people just don't know anything about everything that it can take to get pg. I'm so glad we haven't told a lot of people what we're going through - I can only imagine what my evil MIL would say if she knew about all the pills and u/s and doctor's visits.

Ilovemygeek, that's great news!!! :)

Would you guys mind taking a look at my chart? FF says I O'd on Tuesday, but I got my trigger shot that morning and had my IUI the next day. I'm a little worried that we might've missed our window. We BD'd two days prior to my est. O date, and of course I had the IUI the day after. I think I just need a little reassurance that we still have a chance this month. TIA!

gymwidow It looks pretty acurate to me. Looking at your last chart, you Od on CD15, so maybe you actually Od on Wed since I see a bigger temp jump the next day. Honestly, I wouldn't worry. I think alot of times we get really concerned about the O day, but forget that it doesn't just happen in the morning. If you O on Tuesday, but at 11:30pm, you have roughly 12 hours to catch the egg, from what i understand. So if your temp rises the next morning because technically you Od, you could still potentially have a healthy eggie waiting for a sperm!!! Don't stress and I will keep my crossables crossed for you.

So we BDd last night. DH thinks he's funny and started calling it Baby Batter. At first I was like "ewww, that's just gross". But it makes me giggle now everytime he says it. I need that humor cause otherwise i'd go crazy. I think this is the first cycle that DH is really taking it seriously. The first couple months, he wasn't really in the mood when i was Oing. We BDed on my O date last cycle, but i think FF was off on my date cuz i had a few weird temps and EWCM after Oing. This cycle, however, he is definetly into it. He comes home from work and says "ok mama, lets make a baby!!!". LOL, I love my dork.

Still waiting on thos OPKs. I'm CD14 And seeing more and more fertile CM everyday. I am predicting I will O on Friday or Sat, if not sooner. We'll see.

WE NEED BABY DUST. Come on new mamas, send it our way.

gymwidow- I am with you on the worst part of the 2ww. I am so ready for this week to be over.

MrsJackson05- happy to hear the spotting has stopped. I hope your temp stays up!

giry- hugs to you, sorry about AF showing up.

My DH is off to Canada for work again tomorrow :( . He won't be home until March 24th. I wish he were going to be here next week so I would have his support when I find out if we are pregnant or not. It kinda sucks having to tell him over the phone. I wish we could test now...

If this isn't our cycle we will have to wait until April to try again. If my O date stays the same we are going to miss it next time around. He won't be home and I will be on a business trip. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Hopefully I won't have to worry about this, but I like to prepare myself, KWIM?

I am so happy that there is a place I can express these feelings. I haven't told anyone IRL that we are TTC and don't really want to.

mimieliza - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! H&H 9 months to you!!!

RubberSoul -- I hear you on the 2WW -- I for one will not be waiting until 18 DPO to test (who is FF kidding?). At most I will wait until CD13 because DH, BIL and I are driving down to Florida for vacation (I am going to see my mom in Bradenton and DH and BIL going down to Ft. Myers to see spring training) and I want to test when I can actually tell DH in person if we actually got good news, plus I could not keep something like that from my mom and DH really should be the first person IRL to know. I hope this cycle goes well for you so you don't have to wait until April to try again -- that must be very frustrating!

charliezangel -- thanks for the input on the whole temping thing -- I am trying hard not to obsess. Since my temp was way up on Monday, I think I probably O'd on Saturday afternoon -- I have decided to use the higher temp for Sunday that I got with the second thermometer so I can get the solid red lines on FF with an O date of Saturday. Love the baby batter comment -- I am going to have to tell DH about that one (better than the "man juice" one of my friends jokingly calls her hubby's "stuff")

Ilovemygeek -- that's great news!!!

giry76 and jodylovesscotty -- sorry about AF, she is an evil witch.

polkadot -- snaps to you for trying to not obsess -- I wish I could do the same.

MrsJackson05 -- great that your spotting has stopped, fingers crossed that your temps stay up!

gymwidow -- I hear you on the 2WW but for the first time I (for selfish reasons) don't want this week to go by very fast -- I am turning 32 on Monday  so once Monday hits, the rest of the 2WW can speed by, I just want to stay 31 a bit longer:rolleyes:. Thanks for the input on my temps -- I decided to put in the higher temp to get the solid red lines . . .

ellidew -- thanks for the baby dust!!

**********
As for me, I decided after getting input from you ladies as well as a friend IRL who has been charting on FF for about 6 months to go ahead an put in the higher temp for Saturday to get the solid red lines and a Saturday O date. So now I am 3 DPO :D:D .

Ok, once again I am so behind on this thread! I have been reading from time to time, but I just haven't had the opportunity to post. We are getting our house ready to sell and that is taking up all of our free time.

First off, congrats to all the BFP's that I missed- lilla, mimieliza, and ellidew!! Happy and healthy 9 months to all of you!

I'm sorry that AF showed for you, jodylovesscotty and giry. :( Hopefully next month will be your month!

Good luck to everyone testing soon. :)

This is the weirdest cycle I have had since I started charting. My body was just doing the strangest things- I felt like I was gearing up to O several times but my temp always stayed low. I finally got crosshairs today, putting me at 3 DPO, but I tend to think that I'm only 1 DPO. I think once I enter a couple more temps FF will change it. I wonder why it was so late this month (9 days later than usual)? I didn't think I was under any more stress than usual, but maybe its just a cumulative effect and finally hit me. Who knows?

Threadmistress, can you move me to Think I O'd, testing 3/13-3/19? Thank you!

I have a new FPS! My boobs feel different. I lost a lot of weight a couple of years ago and after that they got, well, sort of floppy and limp. Today when I was showering at the gym I noticed that they feel much firmer and are standing up straighter! Could just be my wild and crazy imagination, but......

charliezangel, thanks. I knew all that somewhere in my head, but needed to hear it from someone else! LOL to your "Baby Batter." My DH calls it "Baby Juice." Weird men! :p

jody, I'm so sorry. I hope the Clomid is the magic pill for you!

RubberSoul, ugh. I'm sorry DH can't be with you next week. This place is wonderful to share. Only a few of my friends IRL know about our situation, and now after all the months and dr's appts and pills, etc. I don't even tell them much anymore. It's just easier than having to answer their questions every month. I'm so glad I have these women!

Mrs R, ok, then for you the week can drag by! ;)

ptcrn, stress like dealing with selling a house could definitely postpone your O. I hope you were able to catch the egg!

Just have to give you ladies a quick update because I'm so excited I can hardly stand it...

After 5 MONTHS of MIL living with us while she "looked for a job" (i.e. watched our cable & kinda looked around), I put my foot down with DH 2 weeks ago about her needing to move into a place of her own, even if we have to help her with it - we've only been married 19 months, and she's been in our house 5 of them  (She only moved in b/c she was being stubborn about finding a job, and had run out of money - sorry if I sound harsh, but I refuse to make it easy for her not to work by providing her a nice home to live in if she's not even going to try...she's totally able-bodied, she just has a "perfect job" in her mind and so far won't consider anything but...)

Anyway, we just got word that she's been approved for an apartment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!! Not only that, she's moving out on SUNDAY - WOO HOO!!!! (I know I shouldnt' be this excited, I'm just so done with having her always around the house for no good reason!)

So that's my good news of the day :D

Nothing new on the cycle front...CD3 and counting...

Well, still no OPKs so I bought a few at the dollar tree to get me through this week. The box says "take anytime of day" but i know it's better around certain times. I didn't get home from work until almost 9pm. I hadn't urinated in a few hours and it had been about 2 hours since i had my last beverage. Came up Neg, but i'm seeing some serious EWCM today. Just had to share that my temp was something other than 98.2 this morning...it was 98.4! My chart was looking pretty boring with the same temp day after day...I was excited to see a higher temp for once. I just hope it stays up.

This might be a little TMI, but does anyone else have a lot of creamy CM in the 2WW? I don't think I have ever experienced the amount I am seeing every day.

One other question. Does anyone else have two pre-natal vitamins, one you take in the morning and one in the evening. My Dr. gave me an RX for pre-natals and I have two horse pills to take every day...good thing I don't have a problem with taking large pills.

OMG, LOL...DH just looked over at me and asked me what I was writing about...I asked why...He said he just wanted to know...lol, so i told him I was writing about my cervical mucus!!! OMG, the look on his face was pricelss. I told him that'll teach him to be so nosey!!!!

OK, so back to what i was saying...yeah, lol. i can't stop laughing now. OH, I remember what I wanted to ask you girls

QOTD Can too much BDing be bad for TTC?? It sounds stupid to me, but this girl I work with said that we should BD everyother day because doing it everyday will "kill" the sperm...she's basicly saying that the sperm aren't "fertile" if you do it everyday. Silly?? or does this have some truth to it?

charliezangel - I was worried about that, too, but DH and I tried to BD every day leading up to O. We BD'd 5 out of 6 days prior to O, and apparently it worked. What I have read says that it's best to BD everyday during the fertile period unless your DH has known issues with sperm quantity/quality.

Good morning all! 8/9 DPO today and I *think* my boobs hurt. They feel kind of achy from the inside, but don't "hurt" when I poke at them (must stop poking at them, as that will probably make them achier and that really messes with my mind). I'm not sure if it's real or just a very powerful psychosomatic (sp?) symptom. Sigh, the waiting game really sucks.

lege, that's great that your MIL will be out on her own again soon! I can't imagine having my MIL live with us. DH would have to rid the house of all knives, frying pans, etc., anything that I might have used as a weapon!

cowgirl, thanks. I hope you see a big temp jump soon!

Jess71903, I'm sorry about both your stepgrandmother and AF. I hope the week isn't too rough for you.

charliezangel, I hope you see a + OPK soon. Two lines on any stick is good! Unless your DH has problems with his sperm, then BDing every day is fine (as per my RE).

RubberSoul, I hear that creamy CM can be a great thing in the 2WW! I take a generic prenatal (that is as big as a horse pill), but only once a day. I think I've read that certain vitamins are better to take in 2 doses because of how your body best processes them - in a certain high amount, you don't absorb as much of the nutrient or something. I think that's the case with calcium, but not sure about others.

jessied1025, good luck in your 2WW!

ellidew
03-02-2006, 10:03 AM
Chris~n~Jen- It's not a silly question. I didn't know until someone told me!

PreSeed:

Pre-Seed is the first and only “Sperm-Friendly" Intimate Moisturizer that replenishes your natural moisture while providing an optimal environment for sperm. Pre-Seed’s moisture mimics natural body secretions to relieve vaginal dryness - with the same pH and osmolarity as semen. Pre~Seed also protects cell function and acts as a "antioxidant" - supporting both conception and pleasurable intercourse.

Honestly, we used it once. The last time we bd'd before o'ing. We were on vacation and didn't unpack it until then! Like i said, it could've been coincidence but we'd been trying for a year and used PreSeed once and BAM! BFP! :D I have to assume that's what it was since nothing else had changed.

I have a confession to make. As I was driving home last night I found myself driving to the drug store and before I knew it I had HPT's in my hand. I tried to talk myself out of POAS last night, but I lost the battle. Then, I stood there staring at it and turning it all different ways not sure if there was the faintest of lines there [the conversation in my head went something like this: well, if i turn it this way there kinda looks like there might be a line]. I think I may need a 12 step program to stop myself from testing so early:rolleyes: . I am 10dpo today and have decided I will not POAS again until at least Sunday. Let's hope I can make it that long.:o

lege -- glad to hear about your MIL -- I am sure she will like her new digs.

Jess -- I sorry to hear about your grandmother and that AF showed up.

RubberSoul -- I read on FF that having creamy or EWCM during 2WW is normal because the corpus luteum (sp?) still produces some amount of estrogen after you O.

gymwidow -- my boobs have been known to hurt from the inside too -- yesterday and today however, they are fine while in my bra but once I take it off in the am (I wear a bra to bed, I am crazy, I know), they ache a bit . . poking them probably won't help with the ache either though

MrsJackson -- sorry about AF. March is a great month though!!!!

Sorry for anyone I missed, I think DH and I are going to buy a new computer this weekend as we have still not gotten any response from Dell after being on the phone with (no joke) 20 different people in customer service for a grand total of over 24 hours (a total waste of a day of my life) . . .

For those of you that are using Pre-Seed are you using it every time you DTD? Isn't that terribly expensive? I have 5 packs left and I'm thinking the two days before expected O, O day, and the two days after - thoughts?

We used it this cycle for the first time -- we used it on Saturday and Sunday (which was (depending on my chart issues which I posted earlier) either O day and day after O or day before O and O date)

We shall see what happens -- if I am PG this cycle then I am totally giving credit to using Pre-Seed and taking FertiliTea as those two things are the only things I did differently this cycle . . .

Then I had to pee, but held it till I got home a coupole hours later. I took the OPK. The last 2 I took did not even have a faint test line until way later and they were evap lines. The one i took today had a faint test line. Granted, it was a different type of test than i took the last coule days. Now, I know positive would be if the line was as dark as or darker than the control ine, but could I have like a little bit of LH in my urine today, but see a surge and a darker line like tomorrow or saturday!!! I honestly hate being so confused. I wish it would just happen w/o all this work. I just want to be sure we're not stressing ourselves out for nothing by trying so hard at the wrong time.

Last cycle my LP was only 9 days, which concerns me a bit. I'm hoping I O on CD 18 instead of 20 because that will mean i'll have an 11 day LP which should be more promising. We'll see what happens. GRRRRRAAAAA....I'm so stressed about all this.

Trying to discern whether I had two lines that were similar is the reason why I switched to digital OPKs this cycle . . .no guesswork there!!!

I've heard different things about both. Although, I ended up with the strips because they were more cost effective. I think i'm really just being overly observant right now.

cowgirl That makes me feel a bit better. Hopefully tomorrow will be a + which will put me right where I though I'd be!!! I told DH to get his "baby batter" ready because we'll be DTD up through CD 20 just to make sure. He's been a little whiny about it cuz he has to do all the work since my ankle is still sore....lol. MEN!!!! What would we do without them....hmmmm

i just took my first OPK of 7 and it was positive...i am sooooo confused..i am still having creamy CM and no O pains at all...i didnt think I would O until at least Saturday, and my temp was pretty high this morning usually when I O its drops way down,..oh well...Brian is working tonight...not gonna freak out...if it was meant to be...then i would have o'ed when he was home....

(see how easy that reasoning is  )

TazLuv, I used pre-seed for the first time this cycle. "They" say that it doesn't replace CM and that it's only use is to lubricate you if you are feeling dry. So it's not something you use every time you BD.... it's just something you use if you are trying to BD and are feeling a little dry. It is WAY too expensive to use every time!

Hi Ladies,

Hope you all are having a good week.

I don't have much time for replies, so I will send a group one. Good luck to everyone trying to catch the eggie! Sorry if AF showed up.

6 DPO for me. My temp has been going up each day since I O'd, which is unusual for me. It is usually all over the place. Maybe is a positive sign...only time will tell!

Hope you all have a great weekend! :)

Well I couldn't resist POAS this morning and was shocked to see two lines. The second line appeared, but it isn't very dark (I know a line is a line). I think I am still trying to convince myself that what I saw was real. I tried to take a picture and of course my digital camera batteries are dead  .

I am not ready to celebrate yet since I got a positive test last month and then ended up with a chemical pregnancy. So please send sticky vibes my way!

RubberSoul, a cautious congrats to you! I second the blood test idea. Lots of sticky vibes!

polkadot, hope you caught the egg! :)

I can't remember who posted the ? about preseed, but we've pretty much been using it every time during the fertile time because of my lack of CM. I know it isn't a replacement, but its gotta be better than nothing! I just use 1/2 the tube each time because it does get very expensive. I know they say not to, but if it doesn't touch anything then it can't get contaminated, right? I think they are just trying to sell more!

6 DPO today and my temp went up. Not feeling any FPS yet. I don't know whether to be hopeful about this cycle or not. I'm trying to forget about it- not very successfully I might add!

Rubbersoul -- sticky vibes!!!!

polkadot -- here's hoping a polkatot is in the making:)

Okay, 6 DPO for me today and another temperature rise. I am happy with my chart so far this month.

I woke up today with a hugely swollen left eye (for the past two days it has been a bit tender and hurt a bit when I blinked). Today whenever I blink it feel like needles are shooting up my upper lid. Not good, so I call my cr*ppy primary care physician (I hate her, long story) to make an appointment. The appointment nurse was so rude and basically told me I could not be seen until next week:eek:. So I finally decided to change my PCP to another doctor that one of my friends has seen in the past. The office was so nice and are fitting me in today at 3.

I am of course going to tell her I may be PG but I am worried b/c if I have some sort of infection and I can't take antibiotics because of possible PG, then my eye will only get worse:(

Maybe <<fingers crossed>> they will give me a blood test to see if I am PG and maybe (maybe) by some stretch of luck it will show that I am PG (a girl can hope, right) . . .

RubberSoul:Sticky vibes to you.

My temp is screwy this month. I am thinking I may not have O'd yet but I am not sure. UGH

QOTD: Does anyone elses CM not stretch?

I get watery/creamy CM but it never stretches.

Hi ladies. Happy Friday. I hope everyone has a fun weekend planned!

I'm at 9/10 DPO today and starting to get discouraged. I have no FPS anymore at all, and am losing hope for this cycle. My temps are continuing to go up, but I'm not sure if that's natural or due to the prog. supps I'm taking. Sigh, it will be a long wait till I can get a blood test on Monday.

Mrs Jackson, I'm so sorry.

polkadot, thanks.

BethIrish, good luck in your 2WW!

charliezangel, deep relaxing breaths! Those OPKs can sometimes cause more confusion than they dispel. Keep on testing and hopefully you'll see that surge soon!

jessied1025, mine has also been steadily going up. I hope this is it for us!

RubberSoul, crossing everything for you. I hope this is a sticky one!

ptcrn, good luck waiting, and not thinking about it. ;)

Mrs R, owie! I hope you feel better soon!

ptcrn When I was reading TCOYF there was a little story about a couple who were having problems because the wife was not producing enough EWCM. Their dr suggested they use actual egg white to simulate it. The story says they got PG the first time they tried it. Obviously, talk to your dr about it, but it could work.

--------------------------------------------

Ladies, all systems are go. Both the test strip and casette OPK gave me a positive today. There will be much lovin in my house this weekend. I was on the phone with my step mother when i read the results on the strip. Because I saw a faint test line yesterday when using them for the first time, i decided to use one of the casettes i got from the dollar tree since they had no test line the 2 days i used them. That one came up with a dark test line as well. She was like "are you POAS while we're on the phone??". LOL, i had to explain that i already had my pee in a cup from before. So she was excited and told me to call her after I know for sure I Oed so she can pray through my 2WW!!! Also, LOTS of EWCM today, the most all cycle. YAY....this could be it.

Another question. Since I got a + today, should I continue to take the tests through my O date?? (which would probably be Sunday or Monday if I'm on the same track as last cycle).

Checking back in ladies. Thanks for all of the notes of sympathy. The hard part of it all was just trying to help my step-mom, who was not taking her mother's death well.

Congrats, Rubbersoul! Sticky Vibes to you!!!

CD 4 for me. BOOOR-INGGGG. I guess it's good that it's that time, though, because I managed to injur myself while coughing so I don't think I could BD anyway! I appreciate all of the info about Preseed! I will use some this month, but I have a ?. Do you have to get it online, or do most retailers carry it? I looked at Wal-Mart but didn't see any.

Watching a baby story now, probably a bad idea!
