Help, I don't want to look like a yokel...

DH's 10 yr reunion is this Saturday night. It's at a bar, a nicer bar but still a bar, though (I think) it's closed except to the reunionees (? is that a word?).

Bar-wear's out of the question, as I have a two-month old baby and she rearranged a few things in the months before her debut. :)

Pants vs. skirt? "business casual" vs. don't-look-like-you're-headed-to-the-office? The invite was fairly casual itself, 8.5" x 11" decorator paper, printed on someone's home computer from the looks of it, and trifolded into a business sized envelope.

Any thoughts?

I'd probably wear a casual skirt or maybe some capris. I say you just wear something comfy that makes you feel pretty. Probably lean more toward the casual side. :)

I think I'd go with some capri's and a nice top.

A sleeveless dress might work (with a harmonizing sweater or jacket in case you get cold.) The right one can look casual or "night out" and still just glide over where your daughter "rearranged" you. ;)

By the way, I think the official term is "reunionnaire" - as in "legionnaire." (Just kidding; I have no idea!)

What about a casual looking skirt paired with a sexier top. That way you don't look like you're headed for work but at the same time, it's not too clubby.

Scrubs are probably a little too casual. :)

I would think a casual skirt and cute top would be appropriate. If it is a nice bar and people haven't seen each other in 10 years, I would imagine capris might be a bit too casual.

I'd go with a tried-and-true pair of black pants, a party-friendly top (doesn't have to be revealing, but should be "non-work" style--i.e., satin, beaded, etc.), some sort of non-work dangly earrings, and heels.
