We're on our 3rd month of TTC, and I've noticed that every month so far I've had O pain. This didn't surprise me too much, because I had it previous to being on BCP. However, it's been REALLY bad. First month, it was on the left and lasted 2 days. Second month, it was on the right and lasted a day at best, and wasn't nearly as bad. This month, it's on the left again and BAD. It's still just an annoying pain, but it's enough to make me wince and not want to walk around a lot. :(
I imagine it will be gone by the time I wake up tomorrow, but I guess my question is, does anyone else get REALLY BAD O pain like this? I'm trying to decide if it's worth a doctor's visit, since there's really not much they can do, but yet I keep wondering if it's something I should be worried about. I don't remember it being this bad when I was younger, but then again we are TTC and I wonder if I'm just over-analyzing things, heh. :)
Oh, and I'm 100% sure it's related to O... I am charting and the pain always coincides with ovulation.
Thanks in advance....

I can't help TOO much, other than to say there's one very good thing to come of this: you'll KNOW when you O, and should be able to tell if there are any spermies there to catch the egg.
If it would make you more comfortable though, talk to your doc, even if it's just to ease your mind.
Good luck!

My Os were never very painful until I started Femarra - The trigger shot they give me makes my O VERY painful- As in uncomfortable to stand even. I feel your pain!

I definitely get strong O pains. I had a surgery to open my tubes in April and ever since they have been really strong. I am still trying to figure out if this is a good sign or not. I tend to get the strongest pains on the DAY I get my +OPK, so I would think that I am getting the pains before I actually O. So I am not sure. I have heard that some women are just more sensitive to stuff like that and therefore feel it more than others. I am just hoping its a good sign!! :)

Thanks for the replies ladies. I did try to scour the net to find some info about it, and I couldn't find much other than "some women get them, some don't". I'm just surprised by the intensity, and I'm not a pain wimp by any means.
Oh, tigerest, FF's calculated O date has (so far) been the day my pain stops. I assume it's correct... it looks OK to me according to the temp changes. The sucky thing is that the pain is so bad, BD'ing is painful and I have no desire to do it, so I don't think our timing is working out as well as it should. :(

I used to get mild O pains before I was PG. Now that I am Oing again (6months post PG) my O pains are really bad!
I even went to the Dr last cycle b/c the pain was so bad and I had it for 2 full days. Of course the day I went to the Dr was the day the pain stopped but he examined me and said that I had just O'ed and there wasn't anything to worry about.
I feel your pain (literally) and I am trying to figure out why its worse for me now after my DS than before PG.

I get crazy O pains. Before I was charting, I would get a really bad pain, and just suffer through it since it didn't happen that often. Then one night, it got so bad I could barely breath, so my DH took me to the emergency room. After waiting 3 hours to be seen, the pain had gone away, and they couldn't find anything the would explain the pain. Once I started charting, I noticed the pain around my O date, and ever since, I can track the pain along with ovulating.
I have found that if I take Aleve or asprin as soon as I start to feel the pain, it usually doesn't get that bad.

I get really, really bad O pains. I have had them since I was a teenager. So badly that sometimes I just want to curl up in a ball for two days and wait for them to go away. I have medication that I take for it, I think it's called Anaprox.
I would suggest that you might want to see your Dr. about it. I mentioned my O pains to my Dr. during my post pregnancy checkup and she sent me for an ultrasound. There was nothing there, but she was concerned that I might have a cyst.

If they are extremely painful like you describe i would also recommend checking with your Dr. to see if you might have a cyst b/c those tend to be most inflamed and painful around a typical ovulation time. Plus getting recurrent, untreated cysts can lead to scar tissue around the ovaries and other health issues like that.

I get the exact pains. It's called middleschmertz. It's german meaning "pain in the middle". I get them the same way you do...sometimes it hurts to stand up and walk. Like yours also, mine go away within a day. I look at it as a blessing. I've never been on bc and I've only had one baby...and it took me only 2 months to get pg :D I definately know when it's O time.
