I'm not grossed out...yet.

I've been painting, and when I went to scrape the paint off the bottoms of my feet, I realized that the top layer of skin is peeling from my toes all the way to my heels. It's not painful or itchy or anything, just kinda weird. I haven't worn socks or covered shoes in a few months. I'm only in flip flops, my Birks, or barefoot.

Any idea what's causing it, and what I can do to prevent/help it? My feet are normally cracked and dry, so I'm at a loss as to why they are peeling.

TIA!

I'd have to guess that you're having a reaction to the paint. Have you been painting barefoot? If so, I'd definitely cover those puppies up since that protective layer of skin is gone.

I never thought that it could be a reaction. It's strange because what paint I've gotten on my feet (yes, I paint barefoot) has been minimal, but the whole bottom of my foot is peeling. I've gotten paint on my hands and arms (I'm messy :o) with no reaction. But just in case, I'll be wearing socks from now on to see if that helps.

Thanks!

My feet tend to peel in the summer, but in patches not a layer that goes from toe to heel. I just exfoliate with pumice stone and moisturize every night with foot cream. The problem tends to go away in about a week.
