Enlisting your help

I have a wedding to go to on the 23rd of July. It is my understanding that it is going to take place on a beach in Michigan in the middle of the afternoon. For those of you that don't know...it has been HOT here.

Here is my problem...I would LOVE to wear a pretty sundress kind of thing...but dressy enough for a wedding, you know? But I hate my legs. I would not even consider wearing anything that is shorter than mid calf. I have thought about wearing a pair of really dressy cropped pants or wide leg capris (the kind that kind of look like a skirt...I found several pair at White House Black Market).

I am a size 8, thicker through the waist and thighs than I would like to be, but have decent arms and shoulders. I have a decent chest...but I am too big on top to go without a bra or something to put the girls up where they belong.

Any suggestions? I need to look PERFECT (long story).

I really like the colorful stuff, but Diana is right...I have to be careful bc I am fair. I am not white white bc I have freckles. They are the only thing that gives me color. :) I do tan well, though (sunless tanner, of course!).

The issue with my legs is not that they are icky to the ankle. But, I have one vein on my right leg that is bordering on varicose. Of course it had to appear on the front of my calf, so it limits things for me until I can get it taken care of (expensive...and a PITA). It goes to about four inches before my ankle.

Honestly, I really like the pants idea. I am just more of a pants girl, I guess. I wish that I weren't. Back in my *glory days* I wasn't. Oh, the good old days.

The reason I am being so picky is that the bride hates me...bc I once dated her soon to be husband. He and I remained really close friends. Then she entered his life. I am sure that she has trashed me to all of her friends, and this will be the first time that I meet any of them. I just want to look as fab as possible so that they can't trash my looks along with everything else they find to trash about me. I know it is petty, but still :)

I think it is the perfect length, and a great cut, but I worry that the color will wash me out a bit.

You are sweet, and that compliment is much appreciated. You cannot fathom the venom this girl has for me, and how hard I have tried to overcome her feelings for me. But I have given up trying to win her over, and have decided that vengance...anything short of wearing white to her wedding...is the only thing that will make me feel better. I went to Nordstorm. Each and every dress that was posted in this thread either was not in the store, or they only had a 2 and a 0! I couldn't even try them on! I was so upset.

Okay, well jcrew was having a great sale yesterday. I got this (but in a different pattern...they don't have the pic on the site) even though it is shorter than I would like for it to be:

So, now I have 2 options. I found a light cardigan to go with the teal/green and white skirt. I will just wear a white tank that I already have under the cardigan. I am sure that it will be way too hot, but I let DH and BF talk me into it yesterday. I also let them talk me into the jcrew dress.
