I'm still looking at dresses. I'm not sure there is THE ONE so I'm trying to decide between a few. We're going for a relaxed atmosphere. Our attendants are my 3 sisters and my best friend, Kurt is having his 2 brothers. We've got 2 flower girls and a ring barer. We selected a Sunday because it is much less expensive in our area. I can't wait to be MARRIED.

IrishMeg, I thought I was the only one who dreaded looking for the dress! lol. I got mine last Friday from the first place we went too! It took me about 2 hours. I think I tried on 8 or 9 dresses.
As for me, all of the biggies are pretty much done. Next on my list are photography and invites.
Natasha

Meghann and Audra--Lets see your dresses!
RoxAnne--I think after 10 posts, you get to see and start a journal and all that good stuff.
Location--Yeah, so, the day after we decided on reno, this really reasonably local place emailed me, sooooooooooo we may not be going with Reno for sure. We'll know 100% by next week.

I though it would be fun to kind of SEE our colors. I couldn't find my blue, and I'm sure these aren't exact matches, but I was in the BM dress thread and thought this would be fun.

sparkelly
03-10-2006, 11:15 AM
I posted this in another thread but wanted to post here too :P
My brother got ordained to marry us too! I'll feel more comfortable with someone I know and that knows me...and the groom too. He wasn't as sure at first as your brother, when I first asked him he said he'd have to think about it and I really didn't think he was going to do it...but then he went home and minutes later he sent me an email saying he had just did it!! He just had to send in a fee to get his certificate.
We need to get working on designing our invitations and I need to stop obsessing over minor things like my shoes! I found silver ones that are exactly what I wanted except for being silver lol, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with them anyway.

Pretty dress, Natasha! In that first pic I was wonder what that "contraption" in the lower right corner was. It looked like something that would be in a gym. I'm glad I figured out it was a stroller because I was wondering what you and your wedding dress and the prom dresses in the BG were doing in a gym! :p
I just booked our florist on Saturday  I left that kinda late, huh? I bought my dress back in August though, so it sort of evens out :D The major things we have left to book are the baker and transportation. After that hair and makeup people. How is everyone else doing on their planning?
Natasha
03-28-2006, 11:47 PM
Nicole--Yep, it's a stroller! Hey, at least you have your florist. It seems to me that vendors like that around here (florist, baker, transportation, etc...) prefer you to book later.
So, the only thing I have set in stone is the dress. I am going to look at a reception place because the one we put a (refundable) deposit on is just out of our price range.
Anyone else? How's everyone doing with their plans?
nicole
03-29-2006, 07:02 AM
In the Bay area?! I would think good stuff would book up really fast there!
Natasha

And in this tiny backwater somehow I'm behind because we just booked a photographer last week... *sigh* Guess maybe because there are fewer choices for vendors here?
Natasha
03-30-2006, 05:04 PM
Maybe that's why, Kara. I have booked nothing yet. Hopefully I will have a real reception location next week, we'll see. I literally have zero vendors (except my wedding dress).

I was just looking through the beginning of this thread, and sparkelly is getting married on the same day that I'm having my 2nd reception in my hometown (a lot of people can't make it out here for the wedding) so I kind of have a date twin!
SheRa

I'll play, too! Though I am admittedly horrible at updating, I just love reading other peoples plans!
Bride: Sara, 24 (well, soon enough)
Groom: Jon, 23
Date: October 21, 2006
Colors: Burgundy, white, cream, orange(ish)
Ceremony Location: St. John's Church, Rochester, MN
Reception Location: 4-H Building (not as dirty as it sounds!), Rochester, MN
Honeymoon: Undecided, but will probably end up being in Duluth, MN and we will save up for a nice trip for our first anniversary.
I've gone back & forth so many times on the honeymoon, and I think I have finally just decided that really all I am going to want to do is relax with Jon in those days after the wedding. I think I would really enjoy & appreciate a big, elaborate trip on our first anniversary when we don't need/want the relaxation quite as much. I'm sure I will change my mind at least 2938759823 times though, since I have so far.
Natasha

Hi Sara, and welcome! I can TOTALLY sympathize on the decision honeymoon, or lack there of. I have yet to make a real decision about this wedding, except for the dress. My goal this month is to get all vendors booked! Somehow, I think this task will spill over into next month...
nicole
04-01-2006, 02:37 PM
I would be in awe if you can book all your vendors in a month. I've had like 16 months and I still haven't booked everything! (Still need a baker, transportation, hair and makeup)
Natasha

Ah. Mine was a decision-making issue. As in I can't seem to make one. Colors were really hard to decide, and invites were really hard to decide. Flowers were really hard to decide - even my dress decision was hard! :)
Natasha

Nicole--It is soooooooooooo hard for me to make a decision! I am always looking for the best deal. but, if I don't make a decision, I'll end up with nothing. Aftre I picked my dress and ordered it, I realized how good it feels to make a decision, so hopefully that will motivate me.
Audra--I JUST realized you're getting married on Kelly's birthday! How cool!

Linz--Your pictures aren't showing up! :(
Meg--A string quartet!? That is soooooo cool! I'm jealous! Believe it or not, the buffet wasn't cheaper at alot of venues we went to! But, since we're just renting an auditorium for our reception, we'll have it catered buffet style.
hmmm....I can see them.
Those were ones that were still on Shutterfly. Let me move them over to photobucket and see if that works... :(

IrishMeg - We had our e-pics done in October when the trees were pretty. We have some of them here (http://nicoleandaaron.weddingannouncer.com/photoalbums-2635.html) on our website if anyone wants to take a look. Ours weren't included, we paid extra for them, but we're using them for all sorts of things, so i think it was a good idea.

QOTD: our e-pics were included in the price of our package for our photographer. they say that they usually do them about 2 months before the wedding, but i would like to get them done a little earlier than that, just because i am super anal & don't want to put off what i don't need to.
my dress:
i actually bought my dress on my first day of shopping. i tried on a bunch, i discovered that i loved how chiffon looked and felt (despite the fact that it's not really a "fall" fabric), and then i found this dress that met my qualifications. strapless, chiffon, short train, simple.
of course, now i see all of these pictures of other peoples dresses & i want to go shopping again! but i can't afford another dress. so i must remain strong. :)
here is my dress:

i wish i could stop ... wanting other dresses. we have a rather small budget, and i really, really can't afford another dress. i need reassurance! :)
i think that's all i was going to say.

My photog likes to shoot engagements in a different season from the wedding. Since my wedding is technically summer, and spring is too close to summer we could do fall or winter. We both hate the cold, so we picked fall. I'm sure if we told him we didn't want to do fall or winter he would've done spring or summer, but we figured he's the pro, he should know what he's doing! We really lucked out that the one Sunday he had left was when the trees were at their peak fall color too!
How in the world did I miss the invite to post dress pics! I definitely want to play!
I bought my dress in August of 2005. It is not The Dress - it was too expensive. (SheRa - since I didn't get The Dress, I'm prone to keep looking as well. It's really hard not too, but so far I've been pretty good.)
The dress I bought is a Mon Cheri in ivory, mermaid silhouette, detachable train, sweetheart neckline and lots of beading. I tried on a LOT of dresses, and I think mermaid as definitely the silhouette for me, though sometimes I'm sad I didn't get a big poofy dress. Where else do you get to wear a dress like that?
Most of these pics are of the sample dress, so please pardon the binder clips!

Okay, I'm officially firing myself from making up Questions of the Day! :p
My answer for yesterday's would be I love the vendors that are nice enough to congratulate me/us on our engagement, because even though a lot of them get most of their business from weddings, it's nice that they don't take that for granted.
Aaron and I also did a "vow date" where we talked about what marriage means to us and what we want to promise to one another in our vows. We went to a park and walked around (it was a beautiful day). Those are my favorite things about the engagement/wedding planning so far. Trying on dresses was fun too. It would've been more fun if people wouldn't make inappropriate comments about me needing to eat though

OK, so here's a QOTD:
What have you had the most trouble deciding on?
For me, it's the location. I keep thinking I'll find somewhere cheaper, but I need to just bite the bullet and put the deposit down!

OK, so here's a QOTD:
What have you had the most trouble deciding on?
Heh. Um, everything. I didn't have a problem with the church, the reception location, or my dress. I've hedged on the honeymoon (crap, that reminds me, I need to reserve our hotel room!), the bridesmaid dresses, the food, the centerpieces, and I cannot for the life of me find a song for our first dance!
I think that I also realized that I am not someone who should have had a long (1+ year) engagement, because that just leaves me with more time to change my mind & stress myself over the small details that no one else will notice! I was thinking today that I don't remember a single centerpiece from any wedding I've been to...so who's to say that someone will care about mine! But alas, it's my day to be a total girl, so I'm going to use it! :D

QOTD: Centerpieces
It's one of the things we are doing ourselves and I just can't decide what I want.

I could have written this! I totally stress on all the details. And, for some reason, I am obsessive about having a "theme". It was going to be daisies, but my FSIL gave us this adorable Mickey and Minnie snowglobe, and now i want a disney theme! Ugh...
So, my goals this week: Put deposits on our ceremony and reception locations, and lock in a photographer. That shouldn't be too hard, right? I found a photographer I want, so all I need to do is meet and get a contract together.

We have yet to book one. Mostly because my FH is a photographer himself. We have photographed several weddings ourselves. He just can't get over the fact that he won't have control of the photography that day and has to trust someone else. I have left it up to him to pick one. lol.

I think I figured out today what is stressing me out the very most regarding my wedding:
Who is going to walk me down the aisle?
I really love the tradition, so I know I want someone to. I just have a very weird situation. My parents divorced when I was about a year old, and since then my dad has had little involvement in my life, beyond the financial. I see him about once a year (always have), he sometimes calls on holidays & my birthday, he sent a check for the wedding & he recently paid for my sister & I to take a 2 week trip to Europe (he lives in Germany). But he doesn't know me. My mom remarried when I was probably about 6 or 7 years old & my stepdad has basically taken on the role of raising me. I know I want him to walk me down the aisle. I don't really want my dad to walk me down the aisle, I don't think he's really made an effort to have a relationship with me (nor do I think he really cares to, he didn't even take any time off work when my sister & I went to visit). The only problem is that I also don't want to alienate him. I like him as a person, he's just not really my "dad", he's more a birth father & financial aid (at times).
I have NO IDEA what to do. It stresses me out constantly. :/
nicole
04-11-2006, 08:21 PM
SheRa - that is a tough situation. Since your stepdad is who you want to walk you down the aisle, I think you should try for that. Talk to your dad and let him know that you think your stepfather deserves the honor of giving you away since he's the one that's been there for you on a daily basis. Maybe you can appoint him another important task to your dad (I'm blanking on ideas at the moment, but I'm sure there's something!)
ETA: You could ask him to sign the marriage license as a witness or give a toast or something like that.
My dad and I have had lots of issues, but I don't want to totally disclude him, so I'm going to have both my parents walk me down the aisle. I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think we're going to have FH's parents escort him down the aisle as well (like Monica and Chandler's wedding on Friends)
rubyslippers - my mom got a champagne MOB dress for the wedding and one thing we found out when she was trying to find shoes is that there are a million different shades of champagne. Some are pinker, some are more brown, some lean towards gray. Maybe if you tried a different designer their champagne color might be slightly different and thus more flattering to your 'maids? Just a thought. I think that color combo is so pretty!

Our photographer decision was relatively easy. I took a lot of the emotion out of it by making it kind of scientific. I made a spreadsheet of all the "wow" photographers and all the "ho-hum" photographers, then I priced them all out. Only one "wow" photographer was in our price range. When we met with him he was really cool, so we booked him. He's moving up in the world though... I don't think we could even afford him at his new prices! Thankfully he's giving us the 2004 prices!
Natasha

SheRa--My parents split, and I have a weird situation too, so I totally understand. I vote on having your step dad walk you down the aisle. I like nicole's idea of having him sign the marriage liscense.

Hey ladies!
Thanks for the advice. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do as far as my dad, but I do have six months to decide. :)
We have bridesmaid dresses! My 2 adult girls (I'm also having 2 jr. bm's) & I went out on Saturday and tried on dresses. My sister is a plus size girl & she was dead set on having something with either sleeves or straps. I forced her to try on a strapless (I'm not a bridezilla, I swear, I wouldn't have made her buy it if she didn't feel comfortable in it!) and she LOVED it! I'm so glad she tried it on because it is a stunning dress & looks great on both of them!

I haven't been here in too long. I'm gonna catch up :)
We're having a buffet at the reception - and since I was here last we had a food tasting and everything was sooo delicious. I can't wait to eat it again.
Engagement pics are included with our photographer but we haven't had them done yet or set up an date for them. I want to...but then I also want to lose weight first hahaha.
I had the most trouble deciding on the photographer - only because the pictures are very very important to me, yet most of the BEST were way out of our budget. I'm hoping we made the right choice.
Lets see what else have I accomplished. We have most of our honeymoon reservations taken care of except for airfare. We've decided on cake flavors (just need to see if they can/will make them for us), all DIY invitation paper ordered and cut to size, bought lots of the little detail things like toasting flutes, cake topper, guest book supplies, reserved hotel rooms for out of town guests and ourselves...and some other things I won't keep listing! I'm just happy to be crossing things off the To Do list.
Oh, and I'll play along too....here is my dress. I'm still waiting for it to come in, I ordered it in all white, but they didn't have the dress in white in my size to try on...so I had to visualize and hope for the best.

Natasha - Yep! They are David's! I bought my dress there & it was really just best to go there for my sister, since she couldn't actually try on dresses anywhere else (most places only carried sample sizes up to size like...16). I LOVE them though! They don't match my dress at all, but I could care less about that. We'll have mismatched fabrics, but we'll all look stunning!
Sparkelly - I love your dress! I hope you post pictures of the dress you got once it comes in! I would love to see it in all white! I tried that one on & it looked silly on me, but on you it looks amazing!
I have been looking into food all day today (minus my insane day at work, ugh!). I think it's between 2 places, both with amazing prices. We'll be having BBQ and salads/veggies at our reception, since I want something totally informal (and my aunt is going to sew me a bib! how cute is that?!) and I was quoted $8.50 per adult at one place (which includes 2 meats, 2-3 veggies, all plates/utensils, and you keep all leftovers) and $6.95 per adult at the other place (though they haven't responded to what is included in that price). It feels SOOOOO good to be this close to making another major decision!
nicole
04-18-2006, 07:48 PM
I know what you mean. We're 2 vendors (cake and transportation) away from being pretty much done selecting vendors. I'm so looking forward to that day because I've had a hard time with most of them.

SheRa -
That's so funny, I tried on your dress too and it looked silly on me but on you it looks perfect! I've also done the same with looking at other dresses since I bought my dress on the first shopping trip. I've come to terms with it now...I think! I've just tried to avoid looking at other dresses as much as possible. I'll be sure to post a picture when I get my white dress in - hopefully soon and hopefully I still like it!
And those prices per person are amazing. Ours is $13 per adult, kids half price. We're having baked chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, stuffing, noodle salad, coleslaw, and rolls. Nothing fancy, but all delicious :)
Natasha
04-18-2006, 09:24 PM
Holy moly! SheRa, those prices are so low! I am relieved to find a place that charges $30 per person!
nicole--I am sooooooooooo jealous! We have finalized ZERO vendors!
Kelly--I LOVE your dress. I think it looks great on you, and I think it will be amazing in all white!
So, when and if I finalize with this location in Santa Cruz, it will be my ceremony location, reception location, food, and most rentals all in one contratc. When I do that, I'll feel good.

What a Desaster .........
Well I got a call this morning from my mom , she told me that we will not getting married , as we wanted in Italy.
The priest don´t want to marry us unless we decide to change our music and I must change my wedding dress from white to another colour , because I´ve got two children(by the way -- my dress is silver). WTF...............
Well the second thing was , that we can not do only a ceremony at the reception hall , because no one in Italy knows , if we are married then or not -- well that is not my cup of tea , because we will getting married legaly in Germany in june this year.
I Germany it is necessary getting married legaly before you can getting married in church.
Well , girls I do not know yet , if I´ll getting married in Italy in October or not.
What a nice day..........

We did need a bump! Thanks. I 'm actually in the process of printing my own as well. It's been very easy. I ordered all of my paper pre-cut from Anchor Paper and then ran it through the printer at home. We decided on the Stardream Copper with the text on Stardream Opal. I'll post pics soon.
I picked my dress up last Sunday and we ordered the girls dresses. We went with David's F11372 in the chocolate with a pink sash.
we've gotten a lot done but I still feel like there is sooooo much to do in the next 4 months. I am making my own invites, cutting the paper, printing everything...I am crazy, right? I just bought my envelopes online, they should be here Tuesday then I can start cutting the paper. I am just going to use one of the big cutters at my work during my lunch hour.
We are meeting with 2 bakers the beginning of June...
gosh, there is just so much to do. My sister (MOH) has been out of town visiting her boyfriend for the past 2 weeks, I can't wait for her to get back so she can start helping me. I never realized just how much she was helping me and how she was making me sane.
Hope everyone elses plans are going well. It's almost our time!!

We changed our reception site so I have to redo my invites ick! the last thing I needed was yet another thing to do.
I had a major wedding meltdown last night I'm just terrified it's going to end up boring as can be.
I am worried about that too. I want my wedding / reception to be a lot of fun. I have gone to so many wedding where it was totally lame and boring and that is a big fear of mine too. But I think the more you bring both of your personalities into the wedding the more people will enjoy it. I am making sure to have my "fun" friends get a couple glasses of wine in them and get out on the dance floor early so people will follow in their footsteps.

I'm finally starting to assemble my invites! I've got less than 3 months to go though. We're also finally making decisions on things like the guestbook and that kind of thing.
ETA: I just looked and I have 81 days! Ahhhh! :)
I am having drama with a bridesmaid from hell. It is my cousin, so it makes things all the more difficult. I won't get into details but basically she has done some things that I am not even so sure I want her in my life anymore, let alone standing up with me at my wedding. It's very complicated and putting a lot fo stress on.
I have been having panic attacks the past few days and it really sucks. I am having trouble breathing, I am having chest pains and discomfort in my chest. I just know my blood pressure is high, I am having headaches and stomach aches.
So I am trying to cut out other stressors in my life. So I think I am going to have my wedding invites made as oppose to making them myself. It is just too much for me right now.
Hope everyone is having a better time wedding planning then I am.

Wedding planning can be stressful. I think cutting back on other stress is a great idea Linz. And if having the invitations done for you removes a little stress then go for it! You can't do EVERYTHING! Hang in there it will be worth it in the end.

I think we need a BUMP! How's everyone doing in their planning? I have 70 days left ( ) and I'm still working on cutting and assembling invitations.
And not that this is too important, but I'm 24 now.
I just hit double digits this past week. I think we are at 97 days today
We ordered our invites about a week and a half ago. We were supposed to get the proof last week but the invite shop faxed the order upside down so they never recieved it. So we should be getting the proof this week and then once we approve that, it will be 3 weeks to get the invites here. So they need to get their butts in gear so we can get them out on time.
Other than that not much else is going on. I have been kinda lazy with wedding stuff. But I have gotten the guest list together for my bridal shower which is August 12th. and I have finalized the guest list and cut everyone off from adding people. Our guest list is up to 230 people. Needless to say, we are hoping about 100 people can't show...

We're moving right along. I hope to be wrapping up the invitations this weekend. I need to find a wedding band ASAP!
nicole

LINZnWILL - Can they send you the envelopes now? At least you could get started on addresses. That's a lot of invitees!
rubyslippers - I hope you have good luck finding a band. I had a terrible time with mine. We had to send my e-ring back to the designer and everything.
I tried and we can't get the envelopes early  We should get them with about a week or so to send them out. There are 230 invited but really only about 130 invites needing to be sent out. With me, my mom, my sister and best friend addressing them, it really shouldn't be that bad I don't think.

Well, today I finally booked my florist (yes, I wait until the last minute for things) -- so all I have left is ordering a cake! I scheduled my alteration appointment for August, we have to meet with our deacon sometime soon, and get a marriage license. I feel like things are really coming together!
I'm making my invitations & we haven't even started yet! Ack! It just seems like there is SO much to do!

00 days left for us. As of tomorrow DOUBLE digits!!!!! I'd better get SERIOUS!
We put all of my bridal shower invites together this weekend. They are so super cute. We ordered them from Hallmark. Everything is coming so soon. My sister and I were talking about it. Next month I start my fittings, and it's my bridal shower. The month after that it's all the finishing touches, hair and make-up trial, final fittings, bachelorette party and then a week after my bachelorette party is THE wedding! only 90 days to go!

Today is my TWO MONTH countdown and it seems like there's still so much to do! We still have some invitations to PRINT and our mail date is this weekend. We don't have transportation arranged either. I have my hair and makeup trials and my first fitting scheduled for this weekend too.
Mandy: welcome back, I can't wait to hear how your planing is going. If there is anything we can do let us know.
Nicole: 2 months! How exciting! are you freaking out?
nicole
07-11-2006, 06:18 AM
Linz - I'm freaking out slightly. The place where we're trying to get the rest of the invites printed - their printer keeps breaking. Plus we just had an offer accepted on our first house (the inspection is today!) so there's a lot of expense and stress involved in that, not to mention time!
How's your Bridesmaidzilla?
I am just ignoring Bridesmaidzilla right now. I thought it best to just leave the situation alone for now and focus on what is important and that is marrying my best friend.
I am sure she will make a fuss once she recieves her bridal shower invite. This whole thing stemmed from her wanting to make my bridal shower invites and they were going to take an hour to make each one  and we are inviting 55 people, so that was ridiculous to me.
I have to see her next weekend at a family function. that should be fun ;)

Sometimes I'm really thankful that I decided to forgo bridesmaids. :)
haha. well my other 3 bridesmaids are awesome! I just had to pick the crazy cousin. Oh well, it will all be over soon enough. only 88 days to go!
Oh yeah, and we have been fighting with the invite people all week. We finally got the proof approved. It took 4 proofs to get it right so the invites are finally being made now. They are putting a rush on it for an extra $60, the woman who owns the invitation shop is going to pay for it since she messed up the first two proofs. AND she is going to make the invite company do the envelopes first and send those to us so we can get started on them.

My bridal shower is next weekend. I need to find a dress.
We have *almost* all of the invites out. I just need 2 more addresses and then they are all done. We had so much more then we thought we did. Our ending number was 247  I hope we get a lot of NO's.
I just bought 2 new bathing suits for the honeymoon.
That is the gist of what is going on right now. Still a lot to do and not so much time to do it. but we are getting there. We are going to be Mr. and Mrs. before I know it.

We're starting to get replies back. It's not as exciting as I thought it would be since they're being sent to my future ILs' house instead of mine.
We still don't have transportaion booked or any of the songs picked. We also don't have the flowers or cake design picked out because we have no idea what kind of flowers will be in the venue until closer to the event. Big

I finally made a sample invitation the other day! I thought I would share with you ladies. I didn't blur out our names or anything (I really can't be bothered), so um...well, I guess if you really wanted to come to our wedding, you could! :)
We are sooo behind on the invitation thing (it seems like it, at least), but thankfully these invitations are very simple to make and assemble (the leaves on them are embossed which is rather time consuming), and we already have everything printed out. So hopefully sometime this week we can get them done!

The back of the envelope - embossed maple leaves.

The pocketfold. The copper colored band will stay, but the circle will have something else in it (the leaf on it doesn't match!).
http://images1.snapfish.com/347875748%7Ffp348%3Enu%3D3238%3E893%3E955%3EWSNRCG %3D3233%3A5%3A5474%3B8nu0mrj
The inside of the invite with our extra cards. (Yes, there is a typo, and yes, I caught it!)
I have other things, but I don't want to clog this post with pictures!! I'll just make another one. :)

Our most likely centerpiece. Except probably without the ribbon around the pot, and with ivory tableclothes, and four votives instead of two. You can't see, but the votives look like tiny flower pots!
http://images1.snapfish.com/347875748%7Ffp356%3Enu%3D3238%3E893%3E955%3EWSNRCG %3D3233%3A5%3A53%3B%3A9%3Cnu0mrj
My ring pillow. We only decided about a month or so ago that we were even having a ring bearer, so I just bought this on Ebay for cheap & it matches my theme & colors PERFECTLY. So wonderful!
http://images1.snapfish.com/347875748%7Ffp352%3Enu%3D3238%3E893%3E955%3EWSNRCG %3D3233%3A5%3A53%3B%3A%3A6nu0mrj
The basket I bought for my "bathroom" basket, which I am only doing for the ladies since I know my guests...and I know the men wouldn't get what it was even for! Again, fits perfectly with the theme.
That's all. I'm sorry - I had to share because I finally feel like things are coming together and with just about two months left to go! Where did that time go?!?!
great job! I was going to make my invites...for about 5 minutes. I just don't have the patience. So I am very impressed.
The hair looks great too. I think it will look great veil or no veil.
When is your wedding? Do you have a journal?
SheRa
08-19-2006, 08:34 PM
Thank you! Actually, Jon's mom & my aunt are the crafty ones who gave me the ideas. I just had to put the pieces together. And they will be helping me with the assembly and embossing, too, thank goodness!
My wedding is October 21. I don't post a lot here, but I figured I should probably put at least that in my signature. I started a journal here a long, long time ago, but I always forgot to write in it (plus I had no idea what to say). I should see if it is still there. I think I will need a place to write in as time winds down!
EDIT:
I found my journal! Now that I have a link in my sig, maybe I can remember to post in it! Thanks for reminding me of it!

It seems like we still have SO much to do! My family is coming in from OOT and my brother is staying with us. We just moved so there're still boxes everywhere that we have to unpack. We still need to finish painting the kitchen too. Wedding-wise, I still have to print and assemble the programs (the design is thankfully done) and tie up a lot of loose ends. We're getting a crash couse in dancing tonight so we hopefully won't look like idiots for the first dance. I FINALLY got makeup taken care of yesterday. Not a moment too soon!
Good luck to everyone!

Well today is the day my responses are due and we still have 39 outstanding!?!?! It was stamped for a REASON people!!! Both mothers were told we will let it go until Wednesday and then they make the phone calls.
yesterday was our cutoff for responses and 76 people still have not RSVP'd. It's kinda good because I am expecting most of them are no's and we didn't want our number to be too high. But I agree, I think it is terribly rude and it annoys me. Even one of the groomsmen hasn't RSVP'd yet

Linz, I don't know how you are making out with responses, but mine are trickling in. And 95 percent of the late ones are still yeses! I have been surprized by that. I can't wait until Melody and Nicole come back I hope everything went well for them!
Wow I haven't been here in forever!!! Just wanted to pop in and check on everyone! Now back to reading from where I left off........
Our cut off date was last Thursday. This Monday I made lists for everyone of the people who hadn't RSVP'd. I gave my dad a list of the people he works with. I gave my mom a list of family friends. I gave my FMIL a list for all the people on my FI's side of the list. I gave my FI a list for his friends. and I had a list of the people I work with.
Everyone has contacted their people, except for my dad
People drive me nuts though. Of the people I work with that I had to contact I got some of the stupidest responses.
For Example, here are what people had to say:
"Of course I am coming" - well sorry my crystal ball must be broken, I can't read your mind.
"Yes, we're coming. I don't recall an RSVP card" - ughhh....there was a pre-stamped, pre addressed evvelope, all you had to do was write your name and check a box. is it really that difficult?
"I told you a long time ago we were going to be out of town." ok, you told me that 14 months ago, when we first got engaged. How was I supposed to know your plans hadn't changed?
"when was that again? what time was it?" ugghhh...why did I send you an invite if you are just going to ask me all the info?
"oh how rude of me. us mormons just aren't used to RSVP'ing to these sorts of things. I will be there but my husband MIGHT be hunting, that's the best I can do" - first of all, don't blame being rude and not RSVPing on being mormon. I have a good deal of mormon friends and they all seemed to be able to RSVP! and "that's the best I can do" how rude IMO!
sorry for the rant, I just can't believe how unbelievably rude some people are. I know my wedding etiquette is going to change immensly after my wedding. :p
