I'm planning to go back home to visit some family and friends for a week in mid-March and would love to meet up with some local CC gals. Could I interest anyone in a GTG?

The majority of my time will be in the Atlanta area, but I'm planning to head out towards SC/NC to visit a good friend over the weekend. I'll post dates as soon as I know specifics.

heck yeah!!!!

where does your friend live?

I'm in SC..just about 1.5 hrs from Atlanta. (20 mins from the GA border)...I'd love to try and make a GTG - it seems there are hardly ever ones I can get to around here!

Yes, where does your friend live?

I live in a suburb south of Atlanta. I'd like to try to come. :)

In Atlanta, my family is in the Marietta/Acworth area, but I'm planning on visiting all OVER the Atlanta area while I'm there to visit with friends.

In SC, my friend is in Fort Mills (not far from Charlotte I believe) and I was thinking of driving to and from NC.

In NC, I have no idea, I'd love to get out to the Myrtle Beach area (is that right?), but if not, I'll probably focus on where most of those NC GTGs have been so far.

So as you can see, I'm pretty flexible an open to suggestions

MurphysLaw

Myrtle's in SC Katy, and although I would LOVE for the GTG to be here, I think I'm the only one that lives here!! :o Course if you want to come out here, I can have you all to myself and we can go get Margaritas and we won't have to share them! ;)

Columbia, SC is a little closer to me than the halfway mark to ATL...I don't know what SC gals would/could go to Columbia, and I'm not really familiar with the area, but I'm sure I could figure something out.

Charlotte is about 4 hours from me, and I know NADA about driving in or around Charlotte.

Raleigh is 3 hours from me. There's a good handfull of gals that live in/around Raleigh & it's my old stomping ground(lived there 13 years) so I know it pretty well.

Those are some major cities that are pretty central (I think?) for NC/SC gals. I don't know about GA...if there are a good deal of GA ladies, then maybe we should opt for meeting in the middle in SC somewhere??? I'm pretty flexible, just hoping to not have to drive too far with LMSP!;)

Anyone else have any ideas?

I'm game, but depends on where. I'm in the Raleigh area. We could possibly do around the Charlotte area and visit some family while we're there. My DH's extended family is in Gaffney, SC.

This actually isn't that far away. So, let us know when you know for sure the dates and we'll pick a day and place that works for majority of us. I'm willing to travel though, just to meet the one and only IRL ;)

Depending on where, I'd love to come. We just moved to Sylva, NC (1 hour west of Asheville), in December and there isn't much here, so any chance to get out is great for me!

We are approx. 2.5 hours from both Atlanta and Charlotte and about 1.5 hrs from Spartanburg, SC. Also, could husband and baby come or would this be just for the girls?

Jaycee
02-03-2006, 03:41 PM
I'm totally game!! There are so many of you that I can't wait to meet :p I am in Charlotte and would love to have it here, although I'd be willing to drive to Columbia or even Greensborough..I think either of those are about 1.5 hrs from here.

Bummer. I'm moving on that weekend. I'd love to get together with you guys!

Katy -- I saw Jenny this weekend. I was in LA for a bridal shower. My hair is so much happier. :) She told me that you were the one that told her I'd moved. It's just crazy that we've never met IRL, and now I'm missing another chance for that.

Hey girls!
I'm 1.5 hours from both Charlotte and Atlanta. Columbia is about 2.5 hrs from me ... and Myrtle Beach is a good 5-6 hours. I probably couldn't make a Myrtle Beach one.

I have only driven THROUGH Charlotte many times on I-85...and I live off of
I-85 just inside the SC border from GA. So...maybe Greenville, SC or Spartanburg/Gaffney would be a good "in-between" place.

And while I'm excited about meeting any other CC'ers...I'd be so excited to meet JRPAGV and JAYCEE, my fellow december mommies!

Katy

I don't see why babies or husbands can't come along (though I might think that hubbies would be bored). And speaking of hubbies (would that be a correct plural for the slang term "hubby"?!?!) mine doesn't want me making the drive from Atlanta to SC/NC alone (like I haven't done it many, many times before!). So now I have to see if I can persuade my girlfriend to make the drive and overnight with me. Wish me luck!

Let's see. I'm all up for Charlotte if we do it there, Raleigh would be awesome but I could make the trip to SC if need be.

Charlotte is an hour from my hometown and would be easiest for me besides Raleigh.

Katy, you could try having a GA lady ride up with you (Janna or Yota-- Beevo) are from around that area, I believe.

Katy,
I'm up for it.

Locations: I'd say Myrtle Beach or Columbia, SC. Or even Raleigh...but sounds far for any GA ladies. Charlotte would be far for many as well.

Weekends: I can only do 3/4, 11 or 25 (those weekends).

My mom just moved back to Greensboro, and my grandparents are moving back to Burlington at the end of February. I can try to talk DH into making a trip up there to visit them, then I could try to make it to a get-together.

If that doesn't work out, I could still try to make it to an Atlanta get-together.

ETA: Greensboro and Burlington are in NC. ;)

Jaycee

DH just told me he's going to be working in Atlanta that weekend, so I can be pretty flexible..I can stay with him in Atlanta over that weekend if the GTG is closer to there, or I can stay here in Charlotte if we GTG closer to here :)

Katy
02-05-2006, 08:05 PM
Don't worry about the Atlanta or GA folks, I'll be there for a couple days before and a day or so after. I plan on covering them earlier in the week.

You guys just kind of work out what works best for SC gals and what works best for NC gals.

I can't drive to Charlotte. :( It's 4 hours and I just cannot do that with a 7.5 month old. Greenville/Spartanburg/Gaffney are out for me too...they are just too far. :(

I'm down for it and I'll be back in NC by then. I could do most of the areas mentioned. I live near Charlotte so that would be best but could do Greenville as well.

EmilyBronte my grandfather lives in Sylva. It's so small that I get really excited when someone knows about it!!

Katy my brother lives in Atlanta and I am very used to the drive from Charlotte. It's really not a bad drive at all -- 4 and 1/2 hours usually.

That's so cool you have family here. It is small, that's for sure! So then do you know how long it takes to get from here to Charlotte? We only know from mapquest results, but have wondered what the real story is. We think it's around 3 hours. Do you ever come visit here?

I live in Sylva, NC, and I'm willing to travel 3 1/2. I have a 13-month old who travels well, but a whole day without a good nap is not a good thing. :)

Within 3 1/2 hours I can get to Winston-Salem and Charlotte in NC, Atlanta, and Greenville/Spartanburg and Columbia in SC.

The RDU area would probably be too far for us, but we might be able to swing it if we can stay with friends there.

Emily you are right with about 3 hours from Charlotte. I live about an hour east of Charlotte and it takes me about 4 hours to get to Sylva.

Okay, so it's around 3.5 hours from Atlanta to Greenville (around 2.5 hours from Greenville to Charlotte) and just under 2 hours between Charlotte and Raleigh.

Quick addition - it is only about 2 hours from Atlanta to Greenville. I live 30 mins from Greenville (between Greenville and Commerce, GA) and it takes me 1.5 hrs to get to Atlanta, and 1.5 hrs to get to Charlotte. You have less driving to do than you think. I-85 moves very fast. :D

I live in Anderson, SC and am willing to drive up to 2 hrs. Columbia/Raleigh/the coast is too far, although I could be bribed into going to Charleston. (We used to live there and I love it...LOL)

Seems like Charlotte is the place now...

And Jaycee: definitely bringing Andrew. Maybe Liliana will like younger men! I don't think DH would be interested in a GTG like this AT ALL. He'll probably think I'm insane to go meet these "internet mommy friends" IRL. LOL!

Janna: If you somehow can't make it or don't want to drive that far, you could drive the almost 2 hours to my house and we could ride together...I think my Honda Accord can accommodate two car seats in the backseat if need be! :D

I just took what mapquest said (who, by the way, assume you're driving 60 or so, not 80 like everyone else!) and used that to get an idea.

I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better to do an eastern GTG and a western GTG as opposed to north/south. I need to take a good look at a map to find out how far out west I could go. Charleston isn't too far for me, but I don't know how many people can make it there besides me and ktdelsur.

I'll be back after I look at a map and I'll have a better idea of what I can do.

Just as a reminder: Can everyone post their city/state or area(n/s/e/w) of state here so we can get the groupings down? This may make it easier. I can go back in and add to this list as everyone updates

Yota (beevo12) hasn't posted in this thread, has she? She lives in Atlanta too. I thought there were more of us in GA.

ktdelsur: I wish I could drive to your house and ride with you, but my car doesn't hold a car seat, and I wouldn't feel safe driving with Nathan in my car (DH wouldn't let me either). And there is no way I can drive DH's big truck further than the end of our street. It intimidates me. :D  The only way I could make a GTG outside of Atlanta would be if I can talk DH into visiting my family in Greensboro and Burlington. I doubt he'll go for it. :(

Technically, I'm planning on THREE - one mid-week in Atlanta, one in SCish and one in NCish. My friend is definately driving with me, so time really isn't an issue (first is NC for dinner on Saturday the 18th, then SC for brunch on Sunday the 19th). Unless of course, we divide things east/west, then I'm not sure.

The other definate is to see my friend in Ft. Mills (was shooting for Saturday AMish on the way to NC)

I have a question, why are we doing Charlotte and not Greensville? Can't the Charlotte folks come down to SC? I'm just asking because again, I'm planning on doing one for SC and one for NC, so there's no need to try and fit everyone into one GTG

Charlotte works great for me. Oh, and I added myself to the map.

IMO, I think Greenville would be just a little too far for a day trip for the ladies coming from the Triangle area. But for Charlotte people, it would be no problem. I'm up for whatever.

Thanks for the offer Summer, but I can't do Charlotte for one, and two, as little as Gino would mind for me to be gone overnight, that won't fly for him with Angelina. No way, no how!!

I don't think we'll never be able to make it work if we keep trying to figure out one location. The reason I brought up Frappr was to see what some options would be for east/west...and also to see if there are any other locations that are a good medium for us.

Okay this is just from looking at the map now, and recalling what I can from memory(which isn't much so bear with me). Remember, this is JUST a suggestion, and by all means I am NOT trying to tell anyone where to drive, etc. :)

I'm thinking those in or around ATL can meet Katy there.

If she does a GTG in Greenville(that's about 2 hr from Fort Mill), then those closest(think 2 hours+/-) ktdelsur(48min.), emilybronte(2hrs), anyone in Charlotte(Jaycee & others?) (1hr45min), Albemarle(2hr20), and Greensboro is just at 3hrs.

Then, we could do a Raleigh GTG, which would cover Camdynlyn, shellbell, ardathpaige, and amtaylor. Mel7dog is about 1 hour from there in Fayetteville, about the same distance as Durham(kam?) Greensboro gals are only about 1.5 hours out, Wilmington is only about 2 hours away, FutureGallucci is 2hr20(same dist from Greenville) from Albemarle, and Myrtle is 3 hours from there(granted I don't want to do 3 hours there and back with Lina, but I can and at least I know the area well - I'm the only one out in east bum f*ck, so I can't really say much, but can I just say it won't be fair to not be able to have a margarita with Katy after all this time!!!).

I don't know how this sits with anyone else, but it's more than just "point a is good for me" and "I can't go to point b."

Personally I think everyone should come to Myrtle and make a weekend beach trip out of it. Heck bring the hubbies and send them golfing. But that would be too easy for me huh? ;)

Now for some input please. :)

If there are two GTG (Greenville and Raleigh), I prefer going to the Raleigh one. This is very confusing. I think it's going to be impossible for everyone to be able to go. It's a shame, but that's how it is.

So, list people to their proposed GTG place and date and let's see who can go to each

Kim- I think you seem to have divided everything very well to have 2 GTG's. Since Katy is planning to do 2 anyway, I think your plan would work. I, personally, like your Myrtle weekend idea, though. :)

I cross-posted with Southerner, so ETA: If it seems everyone is going to the one in Raleigh, then I may try to get there, too and just stay with friends there. We lived there until December so we would be happy making a weekend of it.

I swear I wasn't trying to make it more complicated!!!:o I proposed those two locations, because most ppl can make it to one or the other within 3 hours. Some may be willing to drive more than 3 hours, but IMO anything more is a little much for a day trip(especially with a little one!).

I haven't seen kam post in here, but I believe she's in/around Durham/Raleigh.

Kim- I think you seem to have divided everything very well to have 2 GTG's. Since Katy is planning to do 2 anyway, I think your plan would work. I, personally, like your Myrtle weekend idea, though. :)
Now if we could get everyone on board...there would be no rush...the beach is right here...there are lots of places to eat/shop/drink(margaritas are on my list of things to do)...I could go on and on. :D;)

Bummer. I was pretty excited to meet all the girls that were willing to come to Charlotte :( If we do it in Greenville than I won't get to meet them.

Katy, while Ft Mill is technically SC, it's only about 2 miles from South Charlotte.

ETA: Greenville is halfway to Atlanta from Charlotte. If you guys decide on Greenville then I'll probably skip it and go to Atlanta with DH, and then go to the Atlanta GTG instead.

I'm on the Durham/Raleigh line. Trying to catch up here. Where exactly are we talking about? March 17 wouldn't be good by nature of the holiday (we're Irish, although I guess it doesn't matter on that day, huh?).

MurphysLaw
02-10-2006, 12:50 PM
Okay, I believe that it's listed as the weekend of the 17th(not exactly ON the 17th if that helps anyone's case!! :)) to go as follows(please fix whatever I mess up on Katy!):

Midweek (before 17th) - GA(Atl)
Sat (18th) AM-ish...Fort Mills to see a friend on the way to NC(Raleigh?)
Sat (18th) night - listed as NC for dinner
Sun (19th) brunch - SC (Greenville) on the way back to ATL

Jaycee - what I listed was only a suggestion. As of right now, Katy mentioned a possible 3 GTGs. But,(and I'm just curious) why would you go all the way to ATL as opposed to 1hr45min to Greenville? I understand Charlotte was closer to some people, but I was just trying to keep everyone within 3 hours or less. Who else lives in Charlotte besides you? I'm sure there's another/more, but I was only going by who had responded to the map & whatever I could pull from memory(which isn't much:p). If you or anyone else has other suggestions (more than 1 meeting place) then I'm all for hearing it!! I have no problems going somewhere other than Raleigh, I just don't want to drive more than 3 hours.

Anyone got any other ideas? We're going to run out of time to plan!! :p

Jaycee
02-10-2006, 12:57 PM
Kim, because DH is going to be in Atlanta that weekend, therefore I would get to spend some time with him as well as see some other friends in Atlanta :) If it was going to be in Charlotte which I would have LOVED, than I would have stayed in Charlotte altogether.

MurphysLaw
02-10-2006, 12:59 PM
Jaycee - Okay, that makes sense. :) I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to travel alone. I would opt to stay home too, but I'm not a central point unfortunately (but it IS the beach!!!). Plus, DH works on weekend nights so I can't get him to travel with me. :( Your trip to ATL almost sounds like a mini vacay. :jealous:

We're talking about a midweek GTG in Atlanta (I'll be in town from the 14th - 22nd) - Saturday (the 18th) and Sunday (the 19th) I'll be in SC/NC.

Jaycee, I actually knew that Ft. Mills was close to Charlotte (since that's where my friend works - even if I didn't know that Myrtle was in SC) :o I'm just making sure that everyone knows that regardless of where folks decide as a good location, I WILL be stopping there and visiting before the GTG.

Feel free to keep discussing...

Stopping by again to say I will do Raleigh or Greenville. I'm in a pretty central location. At this point, I think Raleigh has been decided as the NC GTG, assuming Katy wants to drive that far. I think we need a final okay from Katy and then it will be set.

So we know ATL is a definite GTG area. The other two need to be decided btw Charlotte, Raleigh and Greenvile, correct? Unfortunately, there is at least one person who cannot go to each place, so I say we chose the option where the most people are committed to going. Seems like Raleigh and Greenville are the best choices to leave the least amount of people out :( We can do an NC GTG in Charlotte another time, Jaycee.

So, taking a step toward a decision here.....

Midweek GTG in Atlanta

Sunday, March 19th in Raleigh

Okay, for Saturday, I'm thinking dinner time. For Sunday, I'm thinking brunch/lunch time (that way, I can mingle for a while and still have plenty of time to get my friend back to her hubby and kids at a decent hour!)

I'm all for Ruby Tuesdays (I'm even fine with it for BOTH locations). I'll do O'Charley's in Atlanta with friends and I'll do BBQ in Atlanta with my dad. Um...unless there's a Cooker around (all the GA ones closed down). Just remember that they need to be relatively easy to get to (off the freeway, hopefully) since I'll have NO idea where I am.

Um...are you guys sure you're planning this the right way? I'll be on the road, both days for 10 hours - here's how you guys have it written out...

Saturday (I'd have to be on the road by 6:00 am to swing this)
* Atlanta to Fort Mills, SC - approx 5 hours (visit for a less than an hour, if I can visit at all) then...
* Fort Mills, SC to Greenville, approx 5 hours

Sunday (I'd have to be heading home by noon, at the absolute latest)
* Greenville to Raleigh - approx 2 hours (really? 2 hours?) then home...
* Raleigh to Atlanta - approx 8 hours

The way I was planning it a while back (some place on page the first page) I woudn't be on the road for more than 5 hours and it gave me plenty of time to visit with my friend AND visit with you all without having to rush to leave. I'm not so sure I can work the above schedule, it would just be WAY too crazy and I'd only have like an hour to eat and visit before rushing on (and I wouldn't be able to visit with my friend at all, which was one of the main reasons behind these GTGs).

Can we rethink this some?

southerner
02-15-2006, 03:56 PM
Katy, I didn't realize it was all that driving and that you weren't going to be with your friend longer. Definitely. maybe you should just do 2 GTGs?

Katy
02-15-2006, 04:09 PM
no, my one girl friend is driving with me, but I was planning on meeting up with my other friend. I'm just not so sure I'm up for 2 ten hour days of driving. Really, I'd have to cut things so short, it really wouldn't even be worth it. Why are the two GTGs only 2 hours away from each other?

southerner
02-15-2006, 04:17 PM
I don't know. I quit.

MurphysLaw
02-15-2006, 04:17 PM
I was actually thinking you'd go Atlanta to Greenville first(2.5 hours), then from Greenville to see friend in Fort Mill which is about 2 hours, for ome reason I was thinking you'd stay there over night. Then On Sunday from Fort Mill to Raleigh (a little over 3 hours) to eat, then back to ATL, which was the longer part of driving (I got 6hr40 via mapquest).

I think it's a lot of driving even if you *were* to go to Greenville first. As far as there being 2 locations within 2 hours(I think you mean Greenville/ATL) for some reason I was thinking that some folks(closer to G'ville) couldn't make it all the way to ATL. We should definitely rethink this, I don't want you having 2 ten-hour driving days, I know no one else wants that for you either Katy! :(

southerner
02-15-2006, 04:19 PM

Katy
02-15-2006, 06:30 PM
Kim, I show Atlanta to Greenville as being just over 7 hours on one site and nearly 10 hours using another! And Greenville to Fort Mills at about 5 hours

ETA: Here's what I've got...

* Atlanta to Fort Mills, SC - approx 5 hours

* Fort Mills, SC to Greenville, approx 5 hours

* Greenville to Raleigh - approx 2 hours

* Raleigh to Atlanta - approx 8 hours

* Atlanta to Greenville - approx 10 hours

* Fort Mills to Raleigh, NC - approx 3 hours

* Fort Mills to Greensboro, NC - approx 2 hours

* Atlanta to Charlotte - approx 4 hours

* Charlotte to Raleigh - approx 2 hours

* Charlotte to Greensboro - approx 1.5 hours

* Charlotte to Greenville - approx 4 hours

I'm thinking that you are plugging in Greenville, NC? There are 2 Greenvilles, but you want the SC one...that will change the times for ya. ;) The Greenville in SC is not too far from where ktdelsur is on the frappr.map. (http://www.frappr.com/ncscgagtg)

I don't know if that will change things enough to make things better for you, I still think that's a lot of driving. We'll get it figured out somehow....I hope!

* Fort Mills to Greensboro, NC - approx 2 hours

* Atlanta to Charlotte - approx 4 hours

* Charlotte to Raleigh - approx 2 hours

* Charlotte to Greensboro - approx 1.5 hours

* Charlotte to Greenville - approx 4 hours

Katy, you must be using Greenville, NC, for these driving times. The Greenville meeting place we were all discussing on here is Greenville, SC. Here is what I got for driving times:

* Fort Mills, SC to Greenville (NC), approx 2 hours

* Greenville to Raleigh - approx 4 1/2 hours

* Raleigh to Atlanta - approx 6 1/2 hours

* Atlanta to Greenville - approx 7 1/2 hours

* Charlotte to Greenville - approx 2 hours

Also, I was thinking, for some reason, that the Raleigh GTG was going to be dinner on March 18 (Sat) and then the Greenville one was going to be brunch on March 19 (Sun)?

It looks like Raleigh on Saturday, then Greenville on Sunday, perhaps after you meet with your friend in Fort Mill?), which puts you closer to being back to ATL. How does this sound?

I'm thinking, for Katy's sake, we should do either a Gboro or a Charlotte GTG for NC. It would be much less driving for her. And to make it easier for the girls from the Triangle area, you could carpool down. I know that some people still couldn't make it but I just don't think it's realistic for Katy to do all this driving for a two hour lunch date. But these are all just my opinions.

I can probably make the Atlanta GTG depending on the time.

JannaI thought you weren't working right now, you can't make mid-week? :(

Katy
02-22-2006, 05:39 PM
Okay, here is what I've come up with (and the approximate travel times for me).

Saturday, 3/18
* GTG in Raleigh - 5:00 PM (Atlanta to Raleigh - 7 hours)
* Hotel & Sleep - (Raleigh to Charlotte/Ft Mill - 3 hours)

Sunday, 3/19
* GTG in Greenville - 2:00 PM (Charlotte to Greenville - 4 hours)
* Head back home (Greenville to Atlanta - 3 hours)

Let me know how the times work out. I can be a BIT flexible, but with all that driving (a combined 7-10 hours on Sat & another combined 7 hours on Sun, I don't have much wiggle room). And I still have to figure out how in the world I'm going to visit with my friend - with luck I can convince her to skip church on Sunday (not sure that will work though). I seriously can NOT drive right near her town and not visit - that would be SO VERY WRONG, as I'm sure you guys can understand.

That said, if there's anyway we can move the Greenville GTG a shorter distance for me, I'd really appreciate it. But if this is really the best that we can do, I'll just be waking up bright and early both days to be on the road by 6:00AM  and plan on spending a LOT of time on the road. Just don't be suprised if I'm bouncing off the walls from all the caffeine I'll be drinking.

Thank you, and YES to both - it would be fun to meet up sometime you have more warning. And we have eaten at Nick and Nate's once, but we didn't get pizza. We were there for lunch and just had sandwiches but they were really good. Have fun up here this weekend.

We do usually go to Annie's on Main St. on Saturdays for a cup of coffee and to get James a cookie. It's sooo good. Have you been there?

Also, in regards to the GTG - the Raleigh one works for me (we are visiting friends there that weekend). What if the Greenville GTG was moved to Fort Mill? Then you could at least invite your friend to come and spend some time with her afterward. It's about 2 hours from Greenville to Fort Mill and closer for anyone in Charlotte. Just an idea so you can stop to see your friend.

No, I didn't think it would solve the driving-time issue since Charlotte and Greenville are both on your way from Raleigh - Atlanta, anyway. My idea was more geared toward you getting to make only 1 stop in Fort Mill instead of 2 stops.

Katy I have a 2nd bedroom and bathroom, so you are more than welcome to crash at my place on Saturday, March 18th. I live like 2 minutes from Crabtree Valley (where the proposed Restaurant is), you are welcome to come to my apartment pre-dinner so you have somewhere to go and definitely don't need to get a hotel.

Anyone else that is coming from away from Raleigh that needs a home base, is also welcome to use my place as a hang out pre-dinner, if you need to.

Well it looks like it'd be me, myself and I for a Greenville GTG...but unfortunately I just found out I have to be in Charleston that weekend (3/15-3/18) with my husband so I wouldn't be able to be here. Maybe another time? :(

I'll be at the Raleigh GTG!

Emilybronte yes we do go to Annies. Infact, in three days time we went twice. Love, love, love her pastries!! I was actually in there this morning...were you? We also eat at LuLu's down the street. You should go back to Nick and Nates and get pizza because it is soooo good. Sylva might be a small town but boy does it have some good food downtown. Next time I'm planning a trip up, we'll have to GTG. See you in Raleigh!

That's funny you were there today. We actually didn't go today. We went to story hour at City Lights (for James) and then to Blackrock (the outdoor store, I think that's what it's called). We skipped Annie's because it was close to noon and we had to go grocery shopping before James' nap. Boo! We've been to Lulu's once - I had squash casserole that was excellent. Looking forward to Raleigh!

Katy

aw man, I'm such a dork. I just sat here and went through five pages to see if anyone put down "Raleigh" thinking it was "Greenville" I just wanted to get an approximate of who might have been interested in Greenville so I could PM them directly (thinking if there won't be much of a, or if any, Greenville GTG, then that would influence where I got the hotel (and how long I could visit with my friend in Ft. Mill)

So please, Greenville ladies, be sure to speak up, one way or the other, so I can finalize my end of the arrangements.

Kim, instead of just editing, can you copy and repost the names as well (this way we know as we read along). Thaks

I am so late jumping on the bandwagon, but I just wanted to pop in and say hi from Greenville! I don't visit CC that much, so I didn't know this thread was here, but ktdelsur can vouch for me -- we're friends in real life. :)

I'll be around on March 19th, but it looks like I might be the only one here since ktdelsur will be out of town, so ... any other local gals out there want to jump in?? :)

Since it's Saturday instead of Sunday, I'll be bringing Angelina as well. :) But DH will stay at home because (1) he has to work that night, and (2) although he loves the idea of all of us sharing stories/lives/advice/etc. , he doesn't necessarily want to take part. :p

Wow, there are actually lots that I haven't met....I'm usually pretty open & talkative, but I'll have my hands full with miss Lina so that may not be the case. I'm also usually a huggy person, but after reading the "do you hug acquaintances" thread, I think I will refrain so as to not make anyone uncomfortable :o Well, except for those that I've already hugged in the past, haha can't escape me!:p Or maybe if someone really *needs* a hug, can't turn down those in need.;)

The area I was talking about heading to is 'down the street' from the Mall. It is really close, so Katy, I don't think you'd need to change your hotel as the ones downtown are probably more expensive.

Kim, even if you can't stay out 'all night' :D, the restaurant is really close to the area I was thinking we could go to. Really, in Raleigh, there isn't much that is too far away. So, you and your friend could just head out when you need to, but stay w/ us as long as you can! As per the mom ?, we could go down to one of the Wine Restaurant/Bars, which until like 10-11pm, have people eating etc, so it should be fine for moms and babies.

Put me down as a probably yes for the Raleigh GTG. My mom's probably going in for surgery this week, and if all goes well, I'll be there. If not, I'll be on the next plane to Phoenix.
