After reading the "What time does your DC go to bed" I have some questions. Some may be obvious to you all, but I have no idea.
When did your babies start sleeping 12 hours?(or close to it)
Those of you who co-sleep, what time do your babies go to bed, and do you go to sleep right away with them? (some of the bedtimes seem early for the parents to go to bed)
When your DC sleeps that long, they don't get hungry?
At what age did you start a bedtime routine?
TIA!

Co-sleeper here. My son has never slept 12 hours straight. He still, at 15 months, nurses 2-3 times a night but because we co-sleep he doesn't fully wake up. His bedtime fluctuates but for a long time he was going down between 7:00/7:30 and getting up for the day at 6:30/7:00. Now he goes to sleep around 8:00/8:30 and gets up around 8:00. :)

we got a routine down at about 8-9 weeks. it just seemed to click all of the sudden. we co-slept until 3 weeks, and then i insisted on getting him in the crib, so i just sucked it up and go up whenever i needed to. it was wonderful when the bedtime routine worked!! HA!

Around 3-4 months, typically bedtimes get earlier according to HSHHC. Originally my DS was going to bed around 9, now he goes at 6:30.
We stopped co-sleeping at 4 mo. So I didn't have to deal with putting him down in our bed before we were ready to go to bed.
My DS doesn't STTN by any means, but has been in "sleep mode" for 12 hours or so nearly from the beginning--or at least since he got the earlier bedtime. He still wakes up several times during the night to eat.
When did your babies start sleeping 12 hours?(or close to it)
DD1 started sleeping 12 hours at 6 months. DD2 started sleeping 12 hours at around 5.5 months. I sleep trained both of them (DD1 at 6 months and DD2 at 4.5 months) but DD2 still got up to eat once or twice for about a month after I STed and then just started sleeping through on her own.
When your DC sleeps that long, they don't get hungry? DD2 woke to eat until about 5.5 months. DD1 ate at night until 6 months.
At what age did you start a bedtime routine? I think 6 months with DD1 and early with DD2, maybe 3 months or so.

When did your babies start sleeping 12 hours?(or close to it) DD is 4.5 months and sleeps 12 hours at night now - started maybe 3 weeks ago.
Those of you who co-sleep, what time do your babies go to bed, and do you go to sleep right away with them? (some of the bedtimes seem early for the parents to go to bed) DD goes to bed at 6:45ish pm and first goes in her crib and then comes to bed with us later - so no we stay up later.
When your DC sleeps that long, they don't get hungry? Yes - she still eats around 12 and 5 - sometimes only once around 2. DS ate once overnight until 6-7 months so I expect the same with DD.
At what age did you start a bedtime routine? About 3 months this time and it has helped so much - nurse, bath, pj's, book, song, nurse, music on, pacifier and bed!

Hi Beevo!! Congrats on your baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DD started sleeping 12 hours around 5 months. I never co-slept because I quickly realized that I wasn't able to sleep with her in the bed so I don't have any advice on that.
As for a bedtime routine either I or DH will sing and rock her to sleep, which is pretty much what we've done since she's been born. Some people have very elaborate ones where they start getting ready for bed like an hour before actual bedtime. That doesn't work for our schedule but I think when she gets older we'll start incorporating a book into the routine but for now it works just fine.

Co-sleeper here. He doesn't do 12 hours all together. We usually get 6-8 hours and then anywhere from from 2-4 hours after he wakes to nurse (but since we co-sleep he wakes for just a second then goes back to sleep, as do I)
Those of you who co-sleep, what time do your babies go to bed, and do you go to sleep right away with them? (some of the bedtimes seem early for the parents to go to bed)
This is a tough one for us. Our DS has always been a night owl. He goes down anywhere between 9 and 11 but usually around 9:30-10. (But will get his 11-12 hours of sleep, so he is a late riser too). It all depends on when he naps and for how long. Sometimes he goes to sleep and I put him on the floor in his room until we go to bed (he hated his crib, this works). Sometimes I hold him while he sleeps (and I stay out with DH in the living room and watch Tivo) then take him to bed when we go to bed. Sometimes, if I know he's tired and won't sleep, I'll go to bed with him (but since it's later, I don't mind once he's asleep I read/watch TV).
When your DC sleeps that long, they don't get hungry?
Especially since he's been a crawler, I feel like I should let him nurse at night b/c it's harder and harder to get him interested in nursing during the daytime.
So I DO feel like he's hungry when he wakes.
At what age did you start a bedtime routine? We weren't good at a routine though we tried it starting around 2 months.
