Northeast Florida (Jax, etc)

Is anyone out there from Northeast Florida (Jax, St. Augustine, Fernandina)? I didn't see any threads for our locale, so I thought I would start one myself! :D

I'm not sure where I fit in....lol. I'm from NC but I am currently living in Daytona Beach attending school. I'm not sure if I'm considered Central or Northeast FL.

My husband and I will be moving to Gainesville in June. We are pretty excited but have so much to do. Does anyone live in Gainesville? I was wondering if I could get some inside information on what area to look for houses.

Gainesville isn't really that big. Try to avoid the area immediately adjacent to UF and you should be ok. If you are moving there for college, you'll love it. If not, prepare for the deluge of blue and orange. Everything in the city is bathed in Gator stuff.

thank you for the info. My husband will be attending grad school there, and I will be trying to find an accounting job. I will probably have to commute somewhere, from what I have seen there aren't many jobs in my field.
