We are going to DW in September with our one year old and I can't figure out where to stay. We want it to be as simple as possible so we were thinking on the property but obviously we are not made of money. The resorts that are affordable seem like the rooms are tiny and my son goes to bed at 7pm. I don't want to go to bed at 7pm! What did you do with your toddler and naps/bedtime??
Also did any of the places you were have childcare? Did you ever leave your child unattended in the hotel room? I am so confused as to the logistics of this but I am sure people do it all the time.

Hi! I am new to the site, but I have been to Disney with my kids, although they are a little older. You might try to look in at a Holiday Inn (they have kids rooms) or try to find a room that has a separate seating area. Then you could put your child to rest in the bedroom while you hang out in the "living area". Check out the hotels in the Downtown Disney area...you still get transportation to the parks. Disney does have a babysitting service, you would have to call the hotel and get more info. I would not leave my child alone unless I was just sitting right outside the door. Hope you have a great trip, check on the Disney website and it will give you all of the things that are good to do with a 1 year old.

we stayed at the wilderness lodge and if we were to go again i would stay there or one of the monorail hotels again. it was just so convenient to roll the stroller onto the boat and ride over to the magic kingdom (IMHO the only park that is really appropriate for a toddler anyway). i tried the bus twice, once to epcot and once to animal kingdom and it was a nightmare.

didnt use any childcare services at all, but my dd stays up late anyway. she slept in a pnp in the room and it was fine. for naps, sometimes she napped in the stroller and sometimes she napped in the room. it just depended on the plan for that day. her naps and bedtime got totally messed up the entire time we were there but hey, its vacation.
