I have dermatitis in my scalp, so I have to be VERY careful about irritation b/c it itches so bad that it's madening!! I have always taken showers at night and just slept with my hair wet. However, my hair looks SO much better if it has been blown dry. I always though that letting my hair air dry would be better for my scalp anyway, but sometimes even when I haven't blown out my hair for a while I'll have a bad flare up. Then, I'll be forced to blow out my hair for a couple of days in a row, and I won't have any problems.
I am wondering now if my way of blow drying it actually less 'scalp drying' than air drying. I use cold air on my scalp and some lowest temp warm on my hair away from my scalp. I don't ever blow dry my hair underneath the top visible layer all the way.
For any hair professionals out there, does this sound right? Could I start drying my hair almost all the way at night, or is my luck w/ drying only a fluke and using a hair dryer is ALWAY more drying than air drying?
