Since a lot of us have moved here to CC I figured we might as well have a Gymbo thread.
I love the new lines that just came out. I have a 2 year old son. This is the first line in months that I can truly say I could buy out the entire line.

The new boys' lines are pretty darn cute! I may wind up using this Gymbuck after all.
We leave for vacation the day Gymbuck redemption starts, and won't be back until it's over (and we're going out of the country).... so I guess I'd better fill up my shopping cart now, huh, so I can just hit "submit" on the day of? :)

Dotsie - just let me know when he's done and you're ready to sell those new gymbo clothes! ;) Since we got good use out of your snowsuit last winter you never know!
Seriously, I love the new line... but since the financial planner just scared the bejesus out of me over the weekend I think I'll have to skip it.

I'm so glad people found this thread. I am not buying anything until it goes on sale. I am so in love with the new lines though. It's going to be sooo hard.
This is the 1st time since I have been buying Gymbo that I have no gymbucks...none. Everything before this line has been blah.
OctoberKate - I'm so glad you got good use out of the snow suit. I loved how cute it was.

The dinosaur line was extremely cute also! And the hawiian one before that. I didn't really like their boy clothes til those two lines...and now the cowboy line is so cute! I have three gymbucks to use! I can't wait!
Marisa Should we hold our breath for a sale already on the cowboy stuff?! ;)

I also love the Wild West line, and the dinosaur line!
Did anyone see the article in the August 2005 Money magazine? It's called "Confessions of a compulsive shopper" It goes thru a woman and her obsession with Gymboree clothing. She also started a gymboree addiction recovery website! I wish I could find it online it was pretty funny when she talked about shaking as she got ready to go to a sale. There is also a pic of her DD's closet bulging with cute clothes.
...and I thought I was bad

http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/Gymboree/140002839?$240x305$
I actually like the construction zone line! I think it's cute. I love the orange hoodie and some of the sweaters, but probably would not buy orange pants--talk about limited options pairing tops with it. :)
I also picked this up from the Wild West collection:
http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/Gymboree/140002598?$240x305$
I love the whole collection!
I wish DS could still wear the newborn stuff! Best in Show is SOOO cute. I'm not crazy about the construction line - too orange for me!
I'm also not crazy about the newborn girls'/baby girl stuff!
For the first time in a year, my Gymbucks might go unspent! I spent an hour the other night online - only to realize what a PAIN it is to redeem Gymbucks online! Then, I had a credit that I wanted to use... only to realize you can't use store credit online! What a hassle.

I notice you guys talk about Gymbucks. How do you get them? Do you have to sign up for something there?
Thanks!

07-28-2005, 02:16 PM
Lexylou ~ To get Gymbucks, for every $50 you spend during Gymbucks earning time, you get one Gymbuck...which is a coupon good for 50% off your entire purchase during Gymbuck redemption time, BUT you have to spend $50 (pre-tax) for every Gymbuck you spend. So...spend $50, get a coupon, spend $50 during redemption, get your purchase for $25. Just the same if you spend $200 during earning time, you get 4 Gymbucks, then if you spend $200 during redemption you get your purchase for $100...and so on, I'm sure you can figure out the math. ;) If you sign up to be on the mailing list at Gymboree.com they will send you email notifications when earning/redemptions times are. They usually only do Gymbucks 3 or so times a year. (usually spring, fall/back to school, and winter)

I have a desperate favor to ask. If anyone sees the Cowboy boots in a size 8 at Gymboree please get them for me and I will paypal you or pay you any way you want. I waited too long to get them for my DS and now it's too late. None of my Gymbo's has it in his size.

New lines came out today. The Newborn boy I'm not impressed with at all. It's almost identical to the Hedgehog line last year.
Baby boy is ADORABLE!!! I am loving it. It's all football and varsity themed. Being the football addict that I am, Aidan will be sporting some of this line in no time.
Newborn girl is Grown with Love. Not the cutest I've ever seen. It's pink, cream, and brown.
Baby Girl Is Teacher's Pet. Once again they are using faux cat fur. One word.... WHY??? Blech!!
Gymbo is going to be starting their "Tier" sale this week. spend 50.00 get 10.00 off spend 75.00 get 25.00 off spend 150.00 get 50.00 off

The new lines came out on Tuesday. Am I impressed? Somewhat. It is a bit of a rerun though. The one line is for baby girls in "Grown with Love" It's very similar to last years "Grown with Love". The baby goys line is "Gone Fishing" It's cute. I'm not a huge fan of it but it's better than the lines they have been coming out with.
Gymbucks earning period has started. Aug 25 to Oct 2. There is a sale on too. Get an extra 20% off sale priced items. Oh and the costumes came out. Lady bug for girls, firemen, or aviator for boys. Not impressed at all for the boys comstumes.

I have a question...right now Gymboree is having a "baby" sale...some of the baby stuff is marked down to 9.99 or 19.99. Today I get the Circle of Friends email that starts on Sept. 16. Do you think the baby sale will end once Circle of Friends starts? Or will the stuff stay 9.99 and then I can get 30% off. Just curious b/c I need some cheap play clothes for DD so I was going to run out today and pick up some of the knit stuff. But I don't want to do that if I can get those prices AND 30% off. Anyone familiar with how Gymbo works this type of thing? TIA!

OK, I have a gymbuck and since my MIL went shopping for DS's 1st B-day we already have a lot of what I like there. Anyway, I want to use my gymbuck and I know they just came out with a Holiday line, but I don't like a lot of it.
Does anyone know if they will come out with another line by October 6th?
Do they always come out with a new line right before the redemption period?
Does anyone know what it could be if there is a new line?

I have $25 in Gym Bucks and am waiting to see their infant snowsuits, which the store told me are coming in the 1st week of October. Hope they have something good, since I couldn't find one I liked or that fit anywhere else (and I've looked at about 6 stores).

Howdy all, I took advantage of Gymbucks redemption yesterday and got Aidan some really cute things for fall and winter. Did you know that you can now redeem your Gymbucks online?? VERY convenient!!
The only crappy thing is, I ordered a little over $100 (after my Gymbucks) and I was supposed to get the Rise and Shine coupon/code. However, I have a popup blocker on my browser and it blocked the popup with the code (I think). I emailed Gymboree but I haven't heard back from them. Any ideas? Do any of y'all have the code?
TIA!

We went to Gymboree yesterday also.Got DD tons of cute clothes, mostly 12-18 months/ 18-24 months because she doesnt need any more right now lol
I couldnt believe how there were some really mean women there! They were acting like teenagers at a rock concert, pushing people and grabbing things! I was next in line and this lady was behind me but she thought she was first and when the salesperson called me I went ahead and the lady got all pissy and started putting her stuff back and left!? Maybe next time I'll shop online in order to avoid people like that :P

That's crazy!! The Gymbo at my mall is a tier one so we get stuff the other Gymbos around here don't and I've never seen anything like that! I have seen several stroller traffic jams and a number of almost stroller wrecks.
I like shopping online because I don't have to try and dig for stuff in Aidan's size, online they either have it or they don't.

I went today with my $25 in Gymbucks and put it towards some really cute sweaters. Love their stuff!
Though some pushy broad about half my size started hip checking me to dig through the section I was in (literally I was reaching up looking for a hanging sweater in DS's size and she snuck between me and the shelf under my arms to look at something!!), and if DH wasn't there with his eagle-eye on me I would have had words with her. ;) Why the heck do people go so crazy when shopping for kids clothes? I mean really, Chill Out lady!

Question about Gymoboree sizing for all you experts! :)
I rarely shop at Gymboree, but there is a holiday dress that I would love to buy for my DD. We're planning to have her holiday photos in a few weeks, so I need the dress soon, but I also want her to wear it on Christmas. My dilemma is that I don't know if I should order 2T or 3T. She is 36" tall and her waist is about 20" so it seems like I could get either 2T or 3T. The measurements (from Gymboree website) are:
2T
Height - 33-36"
Weight - 30 -32 lbs
Waist - 20 1/4
Inseam - 13"
3T
Height - 36 -39"
Weight - 32-35 lbs
Waist - 20 3/4
Inseam - 14 1/4"
What do you ladies think??
Dotsie
10-26-2005, 02:49 PM
Gymbo runs big. I would probably get the 2t. My DS can wear 18-24 months at Gymbo and Baby Gap but needs a 2T anywhere else. My DS is 37 1/2 inches tall and weighs 25 lbs.
Littlelamb11
10-26-2005, 03:30 PM
I'd go with the 3T. i find their height and weight measurements to be spot on and being the very last measurement of the range, i would go with the next size up. whenever DD is at the last measurement of the range, the clothes are at the point of being just about too small. :)
lee60657
10-26-2005, 03:37 PM
I second that Gymboree runs big. DD usually wears one size smaller in Gymboree clothes than she does in other brands.
This thread has been dead for along time....what does everyone think of the new lines?
tgray99
10-26-2005, 03:55 PM

10-26-2005, 04:09 PM
Tgray....I agree, I am not really into the new lines either. I have not bought DD anything from Gymboree in awhile, I keep hoping they will come out with a line I really like. Janie and Jack, on the other hand, DD has scored a ton of stuff there! :) Is there a Janie and Jack thread? Off to look.....

I am a HUGE gymbo addict. So its nice to see other addicts here as well.
I have a DD and I really don't like the new lines (sugar and spice, sweets for the sweet or home on the range)
What I am looking forward to is the new stuff that they have coming out in November it sounds really really cute.

Dotsie
10-27-2005, 07:49 AM
I only had 1 gymbuck and wasn't impressed with anything either. The new firetruck line I like because my DS is obsessed with fire engines. Other than that, I think I'll be shopping at Baby Gap and The Children's Place.
Marisa
10-27-2005, 08:25 AM
I was able to use my one Gymbuck, and I even went back this week to look for an item from an older line (the hooded sweatshirt from the dog show line, so Joey can keep wearing the short-sleeved one-piece outfit now that it's cold!)
I'm going to have over $200 credit thanks to my Gymbo visa (which we've put everything on this year -- vacation, house repairs, car repairs, all the big stuff)... so I'm wondering what I'll spend it on!!! When we were there this week Joey really liked the firetrucks so I'll get him something from that line, but I have a feeling I'll be holding onto this credit for a while.

Rise & Shine Reminder: Oct 28th. :)
i have no clue what i'm going to get though. DD doesn't need much and i'm not so thrilled with the lines anyway and since Gymbo started only having 0-3 in their horrendous layette lines and staritng all newborn and baby boy in 3-6, i can't buy anything wintery for the boy yet. Although, if they keep it up with this orange garbage, i won't be buying much in the future for DS either!! :p
oh how i wish Janie and Jack did the same types of promotions. :(

I'm getting ready to make my first Gymboree purchase.:D
Question: Shipping is free if you order $100 or more, however the items I want do not cost this much. So can I "pad" my order (and make it $100) just to get the free shipping and then return the items I don't want to a store?
~Kelly~
11-08-2005, 09:10 AM
I am sure that you could. Circle of Friends starts in 2 days if you want to wait and get an extra 25-30% off. That would probably cover what you would have paid for shipping.
Here are the codes
Nov 10-13th
Circle of Friends (30% off sale and full price items)
Online Code.... GYMFRIEND
Nov. 10-23rd
25% entire purchase (FULL & SALE items)

Hi! I wanted to introduce myself as a fellow Gymbo junkie, as I shop there a little more than frequently. My DD is nearly 2, and I just love so many of their clothes.
I also shop at Janie and Jack, which is a division of Gymboree.
I got my e-mail this morning with savings and % off stuff, and I'm pretty excited. I bought some PJ's this weekend and will return them to get extra savings, as I see they're running a special savings on them - and I just paid full price.
Anyway, looking forward to talking with other Gymboree lovers like me! :)

Hey, just wanted to say that I'm a gymboree junkie, too! So much so that I'm on two message boards to keep up with their sales, etc.
Just a reminder that last year on Black Friday, they did 30% off everything plus gymbucks earnings (before noon), which is an even better deal than COF since you can't earn gymbucks. So if you can wait two weeks, do it!
What do you guys think about their new line? I really like it, but the colors are very much like the layette Grown with Love line, so I'm having to restrain myself somewhat.

Ok, here's the word from on high ;)
If you are interested in a particular item, post an ad in the swap shop section of the classifieds. Those ads are free. Here's the link to the classifieds - http://www.constantchatter.com/classifieds/index.php - just do clothing & accessories under "All things to Swap". You can put in your add that you're willing to swap or buy.
Thanks for following the rules, guys, and checking before you post. We mods appreciate that.

Hello! I'm just a lurker - I thought I could ask you guys this question!
I found a Gymboree boy's vest the other day at a thrift store - it looks practically brand new. I just wondered - How do I find out what line it's from?? It's brown, with a little dog patch on the lower corner of it. Is there anywhere I can look up previous lines???
Thanks!

Circle Of Friends or Friends of Gymboree is just a time when Gymbo sends out coupons to certain customers (I don't know how its determined). We got ours because my DD goes to the Gymboree play and music classes.
Gymbucks are a certain redemption period. Gymbo sets a certain time frame where you can earn gymbucks. Spend 50...get 1 gymbuck. Then there is a certain time frame for you to redeem them. If you have 1 gymbuck and spend 50- you get 25 off and so on.
I hope that helps. Maybe someone else can explain it a little clearer.

That depends. I usually buy a couple of mix and match pieces that she can wear with things that she already has. But lately we have been buying A LOT of outfits. Tomorrow with COF we will be just picking up as many sale pieces as I can and then searching ebay for coordinating pieces. R
Right now I am trying to find a great deal on the Petting Zoo line off ebay in 12-18 months because I love it sooooooooo much.

DisneyGirl: I bought ahead for DD last year just by buying the size for her age. She has so far been pretty consistent in moving to the next size when she's in that age group. But there are lots of babies who don't do that, so it's a bit of a gamble. I've stopped buying ahead b/c her next size is 2T and I know that for a lot of people, it seems to take their children longer to start wearing that size.

I did that. Noah was right on sizes for his age from birth through 7 months or so. I bought ahead for the next year assuming he'd be in his age-size then. Then his growth slowed. He wore 6-9 m clothes until he was 12 months old.
I've also stopped buying ahead more than 1 season, because if I do that, then I find that by the time it gets closer to the time he's wearing the clothes, new things have come out that I like more, and I'm sad because I can't justify buying new things when he already has a closet full of clothes.

She is not in any 12month clothes yet. But she fills out her 6-12 month outfits. I know that pants are the only thing that we have to worry about. She is really long in her legs thanks to her Daddy that is 6'7".
But thanks for the encouragement. I would hate for her not to be able to wear all her cute gymbo summer clothes.

Just chiming in (late!) on the sizes. Joey was wearing 12-18 month stuff at Gymbo when he was only 8-9 months old... and I bought him some 18-24 month stuff that fit him before his first birthday. However, the second year is amazing as far as how they grow and change -- now at 21 months, he's tall and slim and can still wear 12-18 month shirts (not onesies -- they're too short) and almost all of his 18-24 month stuff.
My plan was to buy 2Ts in the 'seasonless' stuff -- long-sleeve shirts, sweaters... if he's not wearing it by Spring then it will be for fall.
We have to get us some of those "di-ducks":
http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/Gymboree/140004007?$240x305$
Size issues here too.... I learned my lesson and never buy more than one size/one season up.
I don't know if DS (who is 17 months old) has a weird body or what - but he wears 12-18m PANTS and 2T tops. He can also wear 18-24m pants, but I hate rolling them up!!

One thing I've noticed with sizing too. My DS is wearing 18-24 in the newborn lines, but in the baby boy, he wears 12-18 months. I brought this up to a sales associate and she said that the newborn lines are generally smaller...
Dotsie

I always thought the newborn lines ran bigger. Aidan can still wear 18-24 in newborn sizes but needs a 2t in the baby boy lines.

The only reason I asked the associate was because I bought a long pant/long sleeve outfit, same material and everything. One was baby boy 12-18 and one was newborn 12-18. The newborn one was a good inch shorter and at least half an inch to an inch less width wise as well. Onesies are the same way...

I just earned my first Gymbucks - I'm not sure exactly how it works. Is it that if I buy $50 worth of stuff I get $25 off of that? Or if I buy $50 worth I get and ADDITIONAL $25 free (so $75 worth of clothing)?
And do they expire?
Thanks!

I have a question about shoe sizing.
We bought the "Cut as a Button" cream jacket about 6 months ago (before E was born) in size 3-6 months and a size 1 shoe that matches the jacket in cream with 3 buttons on each shoe.
It's totally adorable but I just looked at the shoes and now I'm worried that the size 1 shoe is for 0-3 months and she'll be out of it before she's in the jacket...but the girls in the store said size 1 goes up to 6 months.
What size shoe at Gymboree do you guys get for a 3-6 month old?

Thanks! I didn't know that - I rarely go to the Classifieds. Hmmm, I'll definitely have to check that out - my DD has soooo much hair I always need new clips. Thanks.

gymboree newbie here. i am officially addicted!!
i went to the store today (to find one measly blue beanie to match the coming home outfit) and lo and behold, they had about a zillion bins with things for .99, 2.99, etc. so i bought a bunch of items, i mean a BUNCH, and spent only $50!
i hit the jackpot at janie and jack too, they had a sale for about 60% off stuff, and scored this awesome jacket for $30!

Does anyone know if they'll have new lines out before gymbucks redemption (starting 1/12)? I'm hoping they have more Spring stuff out by then as I have $150 in gymbucks!
Marisa

wildcat -- me too! I must've bought more than I realized for Christmas! :)
One of my friends just linked to the forums at www.gymborebel.com where the sneaky Gymbo addict ladies linked to all kinds of new pictures of the spring lines. I think that many if not all are due in time for Gymbucks redemption.
You might need to sign up for the forum access, I think. But then it's in the regular area, under New Lines, I believe.

Yes! There are new lines coming out for gb redemption. I don't know what the girl's line is, but boys is beavers (newborn) and alligators and lizards (bb and kb).
There are links on gymborebel.com, like Marisa said.

Does anyone know what the difference between the newborn and baby lines are? I know it's different clothing but are the sizes different at all?
I can't figure out why the newborn line goes all the way up to 24 months but the baby line starts at 3 months. Why such the overlap?
~Kelly~
01-14-2006, 02:15 AM
I don't know why the overlap but layette goes from newborn to 18-24 months and baby girl goes from 3 months to sometimes 5T. Kid girl starts at 3T and goes all the way up to size 12.
Hope that helps.

The overlap is to give mommies more options to spend our money on!! I am very sad that DD has finally grown out of layette--I really love gymboree's layette lines.
Marisa
01-14-2006, 06:59 AM
Alexis, I'm not sure if it's always true, but I've found that 18-24 months in the layette line (the largest it comes) is not always as big as 18-24 in the regular baby line.
For some reason Joey can wear pretty much everything in 18-24 in the Baby Boy line, but onesies and one-pieces from the layette are out of the question.

Same for me. My DS can wear 12-18m in the baby boy, but wears the 18-24 in the layette. I asked a store manager once and she said that the layette lines do tend to run smaller than the baby lines...
LexyLou

That's what I was wondering. I know at Janie and Jack the layette sizes run a little smaller. Sounds like it's the same thing at Gymboree.

I believe the coupon was mailed to certain homes only (according to the mgr at my local store on the phone today). Try calling your order in by phone, someone on the Baby Bargains board did and said she was able to use both codes (free ship and 25%) but when I called AFTER I placed my online order they said you cannot use both. Jewamese is it a store credit card or a gift card? you can use GCs online with a promo code (i used one today with the 25% off code actually) but as far as i know, you can't use merchandise credit online as of yet. i have some merchandise credit cards lying around my house too. gotta use those at some point. but bringing 2 kids INTO a gymbo store ain't happening for awhile. especially since the tier 1 stores are too busy and crowded during the first days of promotion time. much easier to order online!

I am so excited for my order to come! I went crazy and bought tons of cute spring/summer clothes for DD. Then to make it worse, I actually went to the store the next day and picked up a few more items from the baby sale! CC newbie. There's so much I want to buy, but how do guess what sizes you'll need?
DD is almost 6 months old and has been in size 6-9 month since 5 months old. For spring/summer clothes would it be best to get size 6-12 or 12-18? I hate to buy something that she'll never get to wear.
lee60657
02-13-2006, 09:23 AM
Shellbell: that is a tough question, but in my experience Gymboree runs big. My dd 12 mths and can still wear most of her 6-12 mth clothes from Gymboree. Some things are getting too small lengthwise, but DD is off the charts for height. Alot of her 6-12 are even a bit loose in the waist. I am buying her 12-18 mths for spring and summer. I tried one a pair of the overalls on her and they were big. DD has not had her 12 mth appt yet, but I am guessing she is about 20 lbs and 31 inches. Hope that helps!

Shellbell - my DD is also almost 6 months and definately on the big side (9.2 when born and top of the charts ever since!) and I've been buying 6-12 - she might need 12-18 towards the end of the summer but for now it would be too big:)
Don't know if that helps...

My baby girl is almost 12months. And at her 10 month appointment she was 21 lbs and 31 inches so we are buying all 18-24 months clothes for summer. The gymbo tags actually say that their 18-24 months clothes start at 31 inches.
Gymbo sizing is horrible. Some pieces run big some run small. I just bought Maddy a top in 18-24 months for this summer from FP and the arms just barely fit so there was no way she would fit into it this summer. So you might end up needing to buy both sizes depending on the pieces.
Hope that helps.
I agree that Gymbo sizing depends on the individual pieces.
We have overalls in 6-12 months for our almost 6 month old that fit well. However, I bought a couple of their sleepers in 12-18 months and they still were too small for her. DD has rolls on the arms and thighs and those rolls didn't like being stuffed into the sleepers. Very odd sizing.

I too went crazy with this sale! I went to the store because I didn't want to spend the $15 shipping plus I had some things to return. I didn't get a coupon in the mail but I said to the girl "I got a code for online for 25% off, but I didn't get a coupon in the mail, can you do the discount here? If not, I'll have to go home and order everything online." She thought for a second and said YES!! I feel like I bought every $10 sale item they had, I figured I'd save the more expensive stuff for the redemption period.
Oh, and I did hear he tell somebody that the Easter line will be out then.
I don't know what happened to me, I became a gymboree junkie! I absolutely despised (sp?) the store when I had my son. I still don't like it for boys clothes, but oh my gosh, my daughter came along.......I'm going broke!! I just keep telling myself what a great deal everthing is, but it's still hundreds of $$$ no matter how you look at it!!! oh well, happy shopping everyone!

Went to the Gymboree store yesterday with DS--funny, I bought very little of the new lines--just a couple things. Most of my purchases came from the clearance rack! The one near me has such great stuff marked down.
I did get DS his first pair of swim trunks (the tiki pattern), and matching shirt. Also got him a bodysuit from the 'frog' line. Everything else was clearance!
I've decided I'll use my Gymbucks to buy some of the pricier pieces I really want. Plus, like others have posted, I am confused about sizes....some of the 3-6 month pants fit DS perfect now, while the shirts look WAY too big in the same size....how can I tell what size DS will be wearing come summer? At least they have a good return policy; 60 days for cash refund, if I return it after that I can get store credit.
I'm going to get some of the Everglades pieces with my Gymbucks coupon--so cute! And orange is Ian's favorite color. :)

Does anyone know if the Easter line is already available in the store? The closest Gymbo to me is about 45 minutes away, so I'd prefer to just wait until it's on-line. DS has some gymbo outfits that were gifts, so I'm not sure if they were newborn or baby boy lines. He's long and lean. (50% height, 25% weight) Would 1 line fit him better than another or just buy from the line I like best?

Dally When Gymbuck redemption starts (march 23rd, I think), you need to buy $100 of merchandise and you'll get $50 off, so half-price (or better, if you buy sale things). Some people think gymbucks are a gimmick, but my opinion is if you earn them buying things you would've bought anyway, it's a good deal.

Each gymbuck is worth $25 off a $50 purchase. So if you have 2, you get $100 worth of stuff for $50. If you have 3, you get $150 worth of stuff for $75. Etc, etc.
The thing is you have to have at least $50 per gymbuck. So if you have $49 and want to use a gymbuck, they won't let you.
Does that make sense to the gymbuck newbies?

They usually put out a new line just before redemption. gymborebel.com has insider information, frequently.
Here's a gymbuck tip - once the new line goes up (a couple days before redemption), go online and figure out what you're going to get. Use your online shopping bag to do the math for you and get the total as close to your necessary dollar amount as possible. That way (if you shop in the store, because you hate paying shipping like me), when you go to redeem your gymbucks, you won't be trying to do the math in your head and end up spending more than you needed.

I bought a couple of their sleepers in 12-18 months and they still were too small for her. DD has rolls on the arms and thighs and those rolls didn't like being stuffed into the sleepers.
ITA! I think most of their stuff runs big but the sleepers all run super small. I think it's because they want them to be snug for safety reasons (less flamable when close to the body) but DD is only in the 50% and her 3-6 month sleeper is too tight. I just got a 6-12 month and she can already wear it now and it's just a tad too big.

Lee, that's the experience I had during the last Gymbucks earning time, before Christmas. They used to give you one per $25 coupon (I think!) but this past time it was just one coupon for the total amount. They've recently 'upgraded' their Gymbuck system a little, now there's a number that you can input on the website and everything... so I think that's why you only need one coupon - it's all computerized and whatnot. :)

Ahh! I need to be stopped. :) Lots of cute stuff for DS that I want to order online, before the baby sale ends this Monday.
Question for y'all: How to you figure what sizes to order for a growing baby? Right now my little guy fits perfectly nto 3-6 month sizes in layette (the regular baby boy line sizes do run WAY bigger, and do not fit him right now).
I bought him some swim trunks in size 6-12 months at the store the other day, but they look like they'll be too darn big for him, even by summer, and even with him growing like a weed! I was about to order some summer wear for DS in 6-12 month sizes, but am afraid it'll be TOO big. Is it easy to return stuff purchased online? Can you return stuff bought online to a store? TIA!

Marisa - Thanks! I have only redeemed Gymbucks once before, and I thought I remembered it being 1 each per $25, that is why I was confused. Hopefully I will like the lines during the redemption period....usually I can't find anything to buy or not enough to use the Gymbucks:rolleyes: I am hoping the Easter lines are cute!
Chefker: It is really hard to predict what size your baby will be, I always end up with things that don't quite fit, but I just always keep the tags on and keep my receipts so I can return things and at least get a store credit. I think that you can return items you buy online to the Gymboree store, but I have not actually done it, so maybe someone else knows for sure.

Sizes: I too am ahving the hardest time judging the size my DD will be when summer rolls around. Some pants in 6-12 fit great while other 6-12 pants are floods on her. 12-18 months shirts fit a little loosly right now but then I think to myself..well we still have a few more months till summer actaully arrives. So I decided to go up to 18-24 months and just hope for the best.
Why do they bring the damn summer stuff out so freakin early?? LOL YEah I know evreryone does it and it has been done like that forever..but geesh how am i suppose to know what size she will be in another 3 + months.

For those of you wondering what size to buy your kids, my suggestion is to print a growth chart and plot points from their progression thus far. If they have been continuously 50% for example, then you can assume they will still be somewhere along those same lines in a few months. You can get an idea of their height & weight based on that. I did that last summer when buying and it seemed to work pretty well. My kids are now toddlers so they don't have growth spurts like babies but you can kind of get an idea. Hope this helps.

Gymbo is actually talking about changing their shipping right now.
If you go on to their website you can vote if you would rather have a flat rate $5- shipping (like Old Navy) or free shipping over $100, which is what they have now.
Its listed under "Gymboree Listens"

I was returning something at Gymbo tonight, and the customer at the other register was buying that line for a gift. It was so funny, she just kept saying "hang on" and running back and grabbing another piece, another accessory. I think she spent over $100 getting all the coordinating bits. (Lucky baby!) :)
It really is adorable in person. (sigh)

I see that your having a March baby girl. Congratulations. Its hard to believe that a year has gone by and that I am now planning her first birthday party. So crazy.
That's the dress she is wearing to her birthday party. I am so excited.

we bought most of the frog line on sale and have $50 in gymbucks. i'm not loving a lot for boys right now. i hope they have some cute lines soon or i'll have nothing to spend my gymbucks on.
i bought my daugther the lady dress posted above (but i have to exchange it b/c i actually bought the wrong size  ) but i also bought her the jean dress from that line w/ the matching hat. OMG so cute. but it's what marisa says. by the time you finish buying the matching socks, hair clips, etc.etc. you are over $100 in the hole. my husband is not a happy camper. my excuse is that i didn't like many of the lines until now, lol.

After seeing the beautiful picture of Kelly's little girl, I headed to Gymbo to pick up the ladybug dress and of course, I waited too long and they are out of size 12-18 months. Do you know if they ever restock the sizes or is it first come, first serve? I ended up purchasing the remaining Little Lady line, but I really want that dress!
One thing I did notice is that the outfits do not look the same in person as they do online, so I will definately be purchasing the clothes in the stores for now on. Some clothes that I thought were "eh" online were adorable in person.

AHHH...Thanks. Yeah....I totally agree that seeing pics of little in certain Gymbo clothes makes me want to go out and by that outfit. Because some pieces just don't photograph well online.
Maddy and I have "fashion shows" all the time. She enjoys it and it helps me determine if the clothes are going to actually fit.
I would love to see other kiddos in Gymbo. ;)

I've had my shopping cart filled for over 2 weeks now and just kept putting off buying everything for some reason. Boy, am I glad I waited!! The sale stuff is 40% off right now PLUS the spring1 code is still working. I just got an obscene amount of stuff for dirt cheap. Woohoo!

I have a question for those more experienced Gymbo girls.....will the lines that are on sale now stay on sale during the gymbucks redemption period, or do they usually go back to full price during that time?
I'm just trying to decide when's the best/cheapest time to by some of those pieces. I've already got $75 in gymbucks to use. But with the 40%lines + 25% spring code + additional gymbucks.....it's killing me not to buy it now. But if it's still 40% during redemption time, it's like getting another 50% off with the gymbucks........does all this make sense?????

Jaylin - I'm not sure how long the 40% off sale will last but my concern in waiting for redemption time is that A LOT of the sizes/items won't be available.

Once things get a "hard" markdown, i.e. 20 or 40% off, they will not go back up to full price. The only time prices go back up is if there's a 20% off everything sale for a specific time--the online prices automatically reflect that, then when the sale ends, they go back up. Things that are 40% off now will still be 40% off for GB redemption, but may not be around anymore--if you're ordering online, you might need to stay up till midnight eastern time the first night of GB just so you get the older item.

Pixiecat, that's Aloha Wahine. I agree it is cute!:D
FYI, there are new lines coming out this month: for boys it will be Surf and girls has 2, Tutti Fruity and Daisies. The Tutti Fruity one looks cute tropical fruit prints and strawberry themed items.

Return question...
I have this shirt:
http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/Gymboree/140007708?$240x305$
bought it at gymbucks redemption, don't have the receipt anymore. Noah's started potty training, so onesies are difficult now. Can I return it for something else? It's selling for 11.49 online right now, so would I get that much towards something else with it? I'd be willing to pay a few $ more to get a shirt that'd be easier to use if they'll take it back.

Yes, you will be able to return the shirt without a receipt and you should get the current selling price in the form of a credit.
I must say I'm pretty dissappointed with the new baby boy line. Gymbo is loosing its touch with me, I haven't seen I line that I love in quite some time. I only earned Gymbucks because I purchased his easter outfit at full price but I'm thinking that I may return it, it's just not that cute for $90 and I can't even use my gymbucks since I don't see anything in the new line that I really care to buy! I'm just frustrated. Maybe I'm just super picky??

OctoberPrincess I agree, I saw 1-2 items in the baseball line, but that was it. Not liking much of the summer stuff. I guess I am just not into tropical stuff.

Oh I agree so much! I had my DS first, and I absolutely hated gymboree. I never liked anything thing they had for boys. But luckily my DD was next and man, I'm hooked. I'm going to be broke!! If I'm not buying her the current stuff, I'm on ebay buying older lines....(I love the spash, sunshine daydream & wildflower lines!!!) It's officially become an addiction.
So girls, your wallets (and probably husbands) will thank you for having your sons, I easily spend 4xs more on my daughter than my son!!!
I'm right now planning my attack for the redemption period. I've got $200 buck to spend....its sad how little that buys me when things are full price!

Oh, I forgot to ask ya all.
Where did these shoes come from?
http://static.flickr.com/42/115416086_a269839ea0_m.jpg
All of the sudden they're online and cheap....they're not with the prep club line. Are they from an older line and they found them in a corner of the wearhouse somewhere????
They're so cute, and they do match the prep club line pretty well.

They are from the Dandelion Wishes line. That was last year, IIRC.

Pretty sure those are the Dandelion Wishes. That was definitely last year, but the outlets were carrying the line again this winter too.

Anyone know when redemption starts and how long it lasts? I'm not seeing anything in the little boy line that I'm loving so I'm hoping that we'll have the results of our "big u/s" for baby#2 before redemption ends - maybe that way I can use my gymbucks on something I like more.
