D'oh - I just saw the answer to my question back a page... sorry about that, ignore me.
The bad news is that we WON'T have the results of our big u/s yet. Pisser.

ugh. what is with all the orange for boys? orange is my favorite color, but they are really overdoing it.
I don't suppose there will be another new line before gymbucks redemption ends?

anyone know what this means? during the last gymbucks earnings, i had ordered online and was due 2 bucks, attached to my packing slip was just one buck and i noticed that there was a online redemption code printed on the packing slip. do you think that redemption code will show 2 bucks when i use it online or did someone just screw up and not send me 2 like they were supposed to?
Marisa

dana -- this is the new way they're doing it (finally catching up to technology!) It will show a $50 credit if you use that number online. I had the same situation in the last earning/spending period. :)
I think the new 'bucks don't show a value anymore?

Looks like I won't be spending my gymbucks this go around..........The new girls line isn't that great IMO. Usually I can go crazy buying everything but this line has way to many stripes and fruits..Oh well
Anyone else not "love" the new girls line?

I like it enough to use all my gymbucks on it (I only have 3). You could always buy stuff the next size up for the next season. Also...there is a mysterious Daisy line that the SF test store has but is not online. So maybe you might like some pieces from that line. If you don't use your gymbucks you could always sell them on ebay.
DisneyGirl

Maybe when I get to the store I will change my mind. Things usually looks so much better in person.
Kelly: what pieces are you thinking of buying..Maybe I'm just missing something?
JAYLIN

DISNEYGIRL... I agree, the new line isn't all that great. But like KELLY said, I will definately be using my gymbucks. I would also buy stuff for next year, not the fruit line, or sell it on ebay, it would kill me to let them go to waste!
This is the only stuff I'm getting from the new line, the rest of my gymbucks are going toward the sweaters from the Palm Springs & Freshly Picked line, I refuse to pay $38 for a white sweater that my DD will probably ruin the 1st time she wears it! Same goes with some of the cute pants/capris from those lines.
I'm getting this...I think it's adorable!
http://static.flickr.com/41/115931647_3c97e3dcef.jpg?v=0
this shirt...I'm hoping it'll match the capris from the freshing picked line
http://static.flickr.com/43/115931646_2edc3c0211.jpg?v=0
And I think this outfit is adorable, but it's too expensive, maybe I'll wait till it goes on sale....

You could always state in the terms of aggrement for the auction that it is for an online order only. That way you only have to send them the gymbuck number.
Off to go get the pics

The white dress from those pics someone took is cute. I might get that.
Im also not too thrilled with the new fruit line. I was hoping it would be like the old Fruit Punch line. I loved the halter dress from that line. I wish it still fit DD :( Maybe Ill have to check out ebay for a larger size for this summer! There are a few cute things though...

You know it took a long time for my registration to go through as well. But trust me the wait is well worth it. Their buy/sell/trade thread is awesome. I have bought so many clothes from members on there its crazy. I don't sell on there but I really should because I have some 12-18 month summer stuff that isn't going to fit and I want to find it a good home. Maybe I will try ebay.
DisneyGirl
03-21-2006, 04:10 PM
HMM they have a buy sell trade on there...I wish my damn registration would go thru already! I tried joining like 4 days ago and still no e-mail confirmation.
I would love to trade/buy some clothing for my DD.
KELLY- are the prices from bying from member on that thread a good deal or are they "rip offs"?
~Kelly~
03-21-2006, 04:44 PM
I think that the prices vary as does the condition of the clothes. But you can find some great deals on there. Plus most of them sell on ebay so you can check their feedback before you buy.

I am not that experienced with Gymbucks, I have earned them before but never used them. This time around I have $100 worth and would like to use at least some of them. People are posting that they will place their order right at midnight.....does stuff sell out really quickly? Just curious how serious I need to be about this!! I had planned to try to get to a Tier 1 store on Friday afternoon...I called and they said they have more of the Daisy Chain in the store than online so I am excited to go but don't want to get there and have the new lines be really picked over. Do I need to plan on trying to get there tomorrow morning?
JAYLIN
03-22-2006, 12:48 PM
Can someone explain the "Tier 1" store to me? How do you know what "tier" your store is? And I wish I could find a gymboree outlet somewhere. Is there somewhere online that I could see all the locations?
Franni
03-22-2006, 12:49 PM
I am not that experienced either, Lee But if you are going to use your Gymbucks for regularly priced items, then i would say there is no major rush. The bargain stuff always goes really quickly. Also if you have your heart set on a specific item from the new line, then maybe it makes some sense to go to the store tomorrow. If not, the gymbo stores near me always have a good stock of the styles that they have in the store.
Hope that helps.
DisneyGirl
03-22-2006, 01:16 PM
when you guys use your gymbucks do most of you use them for sale or full price stuff?
I thought about using some of mine for sale stuff for next Spring but I'm not to sure.
Maybe I'll head to my Gymboree tomorrow Morning to see about sale stuff.
Franni
03-22-2006, 01:23 PM
jaylin Tier 1 is supposed to be a store that has all styles including boutique and specialty items. Tier 2 has less. Tier 3 lesser. Tier 4 the least.
I used to be able to go to www.gymbohaven.com and get a listing. However I read somewhere that they are doing away with the Tier system. Maybe that's why the listing on gymbohaven doesn't work anymore.
DisneygirlI am a gymbo addict and a sale shopper. So although I love the new lines, I keep myself to the sale racks. So my gymbucks usually go to the bargain basement stuff.

I read on gymborebel that they are opening an outlet at Jersey Gardens around April 15th...that's like 30 minutes from me!!!
I have 3 gymbucks and will probably end up going tomorrow in the afternoon. I like the new boys surf line and some of the baseball line also.
~Kelly~
03-22-2006, 05:20 PM
lee60657-You are probably safe not to due an order right at midnight. Its just the sale stuff and older lines that sell faster at the beginning of redemption.
jaylin-all the outlets are listed at www.gymbohaven.com
If you wanted to pick up sale stuff I would definitely go the day before and put what you want on hold. That way you can guarentee that is will be there for you. Some stores allow 48 hour holds.

I have a question about the Daisy line though....the pics of the line posted earlier in the thread show many pieces that are not online. Ladybug Dress

goldenbridge I'm pretty sure when you return the items the gymbuck discount portion if forfeited since they divide it up among the items based on cost. They don't apply the total amount at the bottom, KWIM?
You can do what chylynn suggested, return w/o a receipt but you also can't use store credit during Gymbucks earning (I overheard the sales person tell a customer). At least where I am, they said b/c so many people were returning w/out a receipt that they are limited when store credits can be used. Anyway that's been my experience.

Thanks, girls! I thought the Ladybug Dress would work, but I was not too sure. I actually do have both of the ladybug onsies(I almost have the whole set...I loved it!), so maybe I will put it under the dress as it does get cold in our church. Thanks again!
Alienhost- I love the sweet pea outfits you posted. Too cute! I am going tomorrow to Gymbo. I was going to go this morning, but decided to wait until tomorrow since I figured they would be insanely busy. They were nice enough to put what I want on hold until tomorrow.

does anyone know/have the rise and shine coupon code? or where I could get one?
Littlelamb11
03-23-2006, 09:19 AM
The R&S code is going to be on the coupon you earn with your purchase this time around. i think you have to spend $100 or $125+ and the codes are going to be individual to each coupon and can only be used once.
i can't believe i used all 9 gymbucks and still have some waiting to be purchased at R&S. i guess that's what happens when you're addicted and have 2 kids. :p i'm glad i remembered and put in my order at 11pm central wednesday night since they've already started to run out of some of the more popular items.

I love the Ladybug dress. Maddy has 90% of that line as well. She wore it for her 1st birthday party and it was a big hit. We put the white ladybug onesie underneath and it worked out perfectly.

R&S coupon - I'm not sure if every store or SA is different in handing the coupons out, bc I only had $50 in gymbucks, so spent $115 before gymbucks and $65 after, and still got a coupon!

I better get a coupon when i spend my gymbucks! I'll be sure to ask for it.
Golden I would defianlty ask before buying just to be sure you don't lose out.
I had no idea when i was PG with baby #2 what i would be ahving so when she came out and said its a GIRL i was so damn excited since i wanted a girl SO badly. The next day i sent DH out to the store to buy her the most girly outfit for soming home thay he could find. LOL and the clothes buying hasn't stopped since..I have to say though that my DH loves buying her clothes to..LOL
Let us know what you will be having when you find out.

I'm a major gymbo addict and I'm not ashamed to admit it! :D
I'm absolutely in love with the rompers from the layette lines. They're just so cute and they make diaper changes a snap. It's going to be a sad, sad day when DD outgrows the layette lines.
Rise & Shine -- I placed my online order last night after midnight E.S.T., before the email reminder regarding gymbuck redemption had even arrived in my inbox. :p After using my gymbucks, my total was $65 -- but because the merchandise total was over $100 before the discount, I still earned a R&S coupon. Woo Hoo!!!
Ladies, it's time to cash in your gymbucks!

I am so upset - I waited until late afternoon to try and place my order and they are sold out of the two items I wanted the most - the daisy pants and shirt - if they are sold out online does that mean they are sold out in the stores as well? I can't believe this stuff sells so fast..I am kind of new at this.

cr8zyforaf- Definately check the stores. The stuff I want to buy is always sold out online and they usually always have it in the store.
another thing- call your store and check and if they have it you can put it on hold for 24 hours!! I've done this many times!

I went to a tier 1 store yesterday around noon. Although they were very picked over on sale stuff, they had a lot of the new line. They also mentioned that they're getting in another shipment in next week, though they didn't know what it would be. So, I'd say check a store if you want a newer line!
Good luck :) This gymboree thing has gotten crazy, there was a mom almost in tears at the store yesterday because they were out of what she wanted.

Cr8zy?: I hope you find the outfit your looking for! I have not gone to the store yet to use my coupons and now I'm thinking i better get there today. Thouhg I'm not to worried they would be sold out since I live in the sticks and this gymboree is never usually busy.

That is insane that they are selling out onling.
I would definitely start calling stores to find it and then put it on hold.

I have 3 Gymborees near me (Tier 1, Tier 2, and a tiny one, probably 3 or 4). I always go to the Tier 1 the day before redemption to hold stuff, I'm always so worried what I want will be sold out and the girls on gymborebel freak me out about it! I hope everyone finds what they're looking for! Here's a few pics of Lauren in her new outfits (still has some growing to do in Daisy):

I put the gingham Capri’s, gingham sleeveless top, (those were the two items that I wanted that were sold out) flower hat, and socks on hold. I plan on getting a few more pieces but those were my must haves.
I love the dress, however, since my daughter isn't walking - I hate putting her in dresses - they just bunch up around her arms...plus, she really doesn't go many places that she needs to be dressed up.
I will take pictures of her tonight. Whenever I get her new clothes - we play fashion show (which she hates by about the third outfit).
Franni - I can imagine. I am looking for a pair of pants that match a shirt I got at the outlets which sell older lines - can't remember the name.

Franni- that's me too!! I love the Wild West and the Go Bananas lines (I think that's what they're called- I think of them as "cowboys" and "cute monkey"). I did really well on eBay and in the stores with the cowboy stuff, but I'm having trouble getting the bananas merchandise. Right now I'm bidding on what I want DS to wear for his Curious George themed birthday party- the romper and the hoodie.
I don't love what they have out for boys now, but I have a good friend who's expecting in May and who's a huge baseball fan. So I'll be using my Gymbucks on the baseball stuff that they have in the store closest to me.

I also got a hat, dress, socks and onsie for 18-24 months for next year from the Patchwork garden collection - the blue Gingham trim dress - with the hat it is adorable.
I asked for a rise and shine coupon and they said no - I only spent 88 bucks - isn't that close enough??? My total was $160 ish before my bucks.

I'm having some trouble as Joey transitions from the layette stuff into Baby Boy... the sizing seems to be different and I'm just not sure which way to go. I got him several of the surf shirts in size 18-24 months, but the tan overalls, now that I try them on him, fit him only if the straps are at their longest. On the other hand there's plenty of room around the middle, so I don't know if I size up, will it be huge? On the other other hand, I do want him to be able to wear this all summer. And then, I don't know, are we on to feet by now?, I want him to be able to wear these clothes in just a couple of weeks when we go to Hawaii.
I'm so conflicted over a silly pair of overall shorts.

I'm loving the pics, OMG they are all so cute, I can't wait till my stuff arrives! Although my DD hates trying on clothes.....isn't that the whole reason I gave birth to a girl....so I could play dress up!!!!
Anyway, I must confess, I had 4 of my own gymbucks, spent all them, after hearing someone here say the bought some off ebay (sorry I can't remember who)I got another one, then I realized I'm never going to get to the store and I refuse to pay shipping online, so I had to go back to ebay, I ended up buying 4 more, just to get over the $100 for free ship. I ended up with 9 gymbucks total and EASILY spend all of them.
Oh I'm also addicted to the older lines, I'm probably in with you girls on those ebay wars. Last year I did the Lemony Fresh and Strawberry Fields.....and this year I'm loving, Splash and Sunshine Daydreams, and Strawberry Patch.
It's probably cheaper buying new stuff at the store during promo times than it is buying older used stuff off ebay.....
Oh and the gymbo CC is great, it gave me 5%off total before gymbucks, not a bad deal...and I got 2 rise & shine coupons because I placed 2 different orders!
Geez, the summer lines with the great sundresses aren't even out yet and Gabrielle already has WAAAYYY to many summer clothes!!!

Do you guys know if the clips and curlies will stay in baby girl fine hair or are they for older girls?
Lexy -- we just started using some of their clips in DD's hair this week. Her hair is super fine (but she's got a good amout of it). We have been pulling some of it up with a hairband, then clipping the clip over it. Seems to work just fine. I might have a pic, let me go see!

Lexy: I don't know about the hair texture, but the clips themselves are HUGE. DD got a few as a gift last week. She has hardly any hair, but even if she did the clip seems way to big for a younger baby. Alas, she will have well outgrown the matching outfit before the hair clips work for her.

I think all their hair things are too big unless you can get your DD's hair into a ponytail and then clip it onto that. I don't know why they don't make some on alligator clips. I've started buying M2M ones on ebay.

OK, I braved my local Gymboree yesterday to redeem my Gymbucks. (I honestly think every other mother in southeast Michigan was there!) I have a potentially stupid question.....I got DD this adorable swimsuit for this summer:
http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/Gymboree/140009832?$240x305$
I LOVE the ruffles on the butt. Anyhow, it says it has a "built-in diaper cover." What does this mean? How does the whole diaper thing work when your baby goes swimming? Do I need to buy a special swim diaper to put under this suit, or will a regular one suffice? I have NO idea what I should be putting on DD when we go up to swim at the lake this summer!
~Kelly~

As for your question on the stappy dress. IMO I'm not to crazy about them on little girls for some reason. I think like 3+ they are better for.

Diane - Definitely use a swim diaper under it. Lauren has a few Gymbo swimsuits that say "built-in swim diaper cover" so I thought it was ok. We went to swim lessons yesterday and the swimsuit didn't begin to cover her diaper. We borrowed a swim diaper from a friend that was also there and it worked great!

Kelly, what size are you buying for her? My DD was born exactly 2 months after yours and was wondering what you are doing about sizes for the summer?
Maddy is a big girl so we are buying 18-24 and 2T for this summer. I am going to gymbo today to size up a lot of her shirts and shorts. I am thinking that she is about 32-33" and 25-26lbs. Hope that helps.

Kelly: Thanks for answering my question about sizing. Sometimes i find a few things that run so huge while others run a bit small so its like a guessing game more or less.
I really need to get to the store to use my gymbucks.

I love all of the fashion shows in here! I tried to get DS to model his clothes from my Gymboree trip yesterday, but it was a no-go.
I bought a bunch of the monster truck stuff- two onesies, a t-shirt, two pairs of shorts, a hat and some socks. But now I'm concerned that it's all going to be too big for the summer. DS is tall and skinny so pants that are a smaller size tend to be too short in the crotch, but fit him correctly in the waist/hips. To be safe, I went with 18-24 months because it listed the height as 31-33" and he's already 31". However, maybe the 12-18 months would work. I wish I had a crystal ball to see how much taller he's going to be once June rolls around!

I finally made it to Gymboree on Sat. I actually drove further to go to a different store so I could get the Daisy Chain line. I was eventually able to get it after a HUGE hassle with my gymbucks. To make a long story shorter, I had one $25 buck from an in store purchase and $50 from an online purchase. Well, I never noticed, but the online gymbuck was totally blank...it had no bar scan or numbers on it. They said that they needed my invoice to use those gymbucks. I had brought my invoice, but the top was torn off for some reason and apparently that was the location that had the gymbuck # on it. They told me they would honor it for $25, but I was a bit annoyed b/c they could see the total of the invoice and it was over $100, so clearly the buck was worth more. After much back and forth, I finally got the manager to honor it, so I got the clothes but it was a big ordeal. Then my total was and I am not joking....$98 plus some change and after the transaction was all completed I asked for the Rise and Shine coupon. Nope. I have to spend $100 after redemption. Fine, but why did you not say hey spend $1 more to get the coupon. Whatever. It was a pretty frustrating experience so I just left. I would have not bought anything there, but I wanted the clothes from the Daisy line. My DH thinks I am crazy :) Oh, well...I am thinking about going into my regular store which is a Tier II and seeing if they will let me have a Rise and Shine Coupon.

You're KIDDING me! My subtotal after redemption was $77.48 & they gave me one of those coupons at my local store! I'm not going to be using mine since you can only use it on regularly priced items - can I mail it to you? PM me & I'd be happy to.

Another sizing question.
DS is 2.5 and very average in size (not tall, not short, not cubby not skinny) He is right now fitting well in most of his 24 mnth and 2t for various makers (we have no winter gymboree stuff to use as a yardstick). He even squeezes into some 18 mnths stuff. Many of his pants are still long and need to be cuffed. For the summer do you think I am safe getting 3T or will they fall off of him? I would rather go large so that things may still fit for our annual winter trip to Florida and maybe even for the start of next season, but I don't want his clothing falling off or being a tripping/catching on things hazzard. At 2.5 he is obvious climbing, running and jumping through the world. We will also be starting potty training the end of May so he will be in underwear not diapers most of the time, which might effect the waist fit. I am mostly shopping for pull on shorts and T shirts, maybe one pair of linen pants to cover all the holiday dress up (Passover, Yom Kippor, Roshasha). Any thoughts, particularly from the moms of older toddler/preschool boys?

I have a son who will turn 2.5 yrs old and I am buying him 4T in shirts and 3T in shorts/pants. I am buying him 4T for the summer because he has always been up one size in everyones clothes..Like Gap and Old Navy. Because your son is average as mine is short and a little stocky in the shoulders I think 3T will bring you through the whole summer and early fall for the shirts and 2t I would buy for the shorts. I think 2T will fit right now(for shirts) but I'm not to sure if you will get the whole summer out of that size plus you have to leave room for a very small amount of shrinking in 100%cotton stuff.
Its so hard to decide what size will work.

Thanks Disney - If I can get DS to cooperate I, which I doubt, I may try to get him into a pair of Gymboree 2T shorts, zip ups, from the end of last summer and see how they fit. Grandma bought him some 2T and 3T short (I forget the brand) at Marshals in January and they were all huge on him.
Is your DS potty trained yet? If so, how many more pairs of pants did you/do you go through. I am trying to figure out how much is too much.

What is the rise and shine coupon anyway? Like what is the percentage off?
Renrel: I have not started potty training yet. I know i really should be but I'm going to wait another month when the weather starts really get nice out.
Plus he will be 2.5 yrs old in another week so I hope to ahve him day trained by the end of the summer the full trained by October when he turns 3.
Now I have a question about that coupons thats good onlt for today for the % off if you buy online.. how much would one really save since there shipping prices are so darn high? I know you will save money but i wonder if its worth it by the time they change you shippinf if you send over 100 which it seems like most everyone did or will.

Disney - Thanks for the response. We are starting at the end of May, at the request of daycare since he will be transitioning to preschool in July. I think they want us to sent 5 sets of clothing a day, so I am weighing in that requirement as I decide how much to buy during this sale. But then again, why spend money on "nice" clothes only to have lots of accident in them?
I believe the The Rise and Shine coupon is for 25% off of one of the new lines.

I am not a Gymboree addict but this time I could not resist. I order a bunch of clearance sale items a few weeks ago which got me on gymbuck. Then you guys posted that 25% off coupon. I just ordered 9 times, plus a few sets of underwear for just under $100. I saved over $50 just with gymbucks and the discount. That does not count the fact that half of what I ordered was on sale and one item was deep discount, from $24 to $5.00. And I got a Rise and Shine Coupon as well, though I really should not be buying anything more after this. I don't know whether to thank you all for telling me about the coupon which saved me all this money or curse you for telling about this coupon which caused me to spend all this money I otherwise would not have. Now I just have to hope I like the stuff when I see it in person and that it fits.
Here is my haul, minus 3 pairs of on sale boy briefs to get us started with potty training in a few months.

Outlet opinions?
I found out today that we have one near us, so after Noah didn't take a nap, we went. I was really disappointed. The lines were just like last year's, and the prices were pretty lousy. Is it always like that?
the outlet like me is like that. pretty sucky even for girl clothing.
cr8zyforaf
03-29-2006, 04:45 PM
Yes, I spoke with the manager at our outlet - basically it is 20% or 25% off of last years stuff (which they didn't have a great selection of) - and then the really old stuff is an additional 20% off..and that is standard according to her. I was very disappointed as were a few of my friends that rushed to the mall the day it opened.
Does Gymboree often produce knock-offs? I just noticed this sweater in one of their new newborn lines.

JennZ Sent you my info. Thanks a lot.
Marisa
03-29-2006, 08:22 PM
It's my understanding that the outlets are not getting old store stock anymore, they're getting 'new' made-for-the-outlets lines that just happen to be 'knock-offs' of older lines. Like, they'll have many of the same pieces of an older line, but they might change one of the colors, or one of the shirts, or something.
I used to love the outlet out on Long Island, even though it was SUCH a haul, because they really did just dump old stock out there. I found the cutest stuff, for SO cheap! But on my last trip out there there was only one rack left of stuff like that, and they were converting the store into something more like the Gap outlets.
The one near us in Jersey Gardens will be like that too. Don't get me wrong, I'll still be there every week. My gramma loves her some Jersey Gardens, and she doesn't drive. :)

Disney - Just wanted to thank you again for the sizing info. I ordered the pants all in size 2 and it looks like that was the right choice. I forgot that I had bought one pair of size 3 pants in the haul that got me the gymbuck. DS picked those as his pants for this morning and they are huge on him. I sent a second pair of pants to school in case he starts tripping on the cuffs as the slip off his waist. And these pants are roll ups that are supposed to be at mid calf or something. I will have to check if there is one more button hole inside to tighten but it did not look like it as I was rushing to get him dressed this morning. And of course he seems to really love the pants. He was having such fun pushing his hands into many the pockets.

Gymbo buying advice for a new baby girl please....
So my cousin and his girlfriend had a brand new baby girl yesterday. Because her gender was a surprise, all of their outfits are of the white/green/yellow sleeper unisex variety. I have exactly one gymbuck, burning a hole in my pocket, yet nothing I want to buy for my son (because I've already bought it all).
I'd like to get this little girl something she can wear this summer and something that is girly. I don't mind spending a little beyond the $50 (ok, beyond the $25 after redemption), but I already gave my cousin and his girlfriend a very nice shower gift, so I don't want to spend a ton extra.
What are your suggestions? For those of you with little little girls, what are your favorite things that you've bought for this summer? I'm thinking something that would be appropriate in 3-6 or 6-9 month size, probably for a baby not crawling but maybe sitting up. We all live in the DC metro area, so summer are hot and muggy outside, really cold AC inside - I don't want something super heavy or super light because of this.
I need help. I'm just overwhelmed with choices. As a boy mama, I just don't ever GET these kinds of choices! Please, tell me what I should buy!
Franni

I absolutely loved rompers and dresses for really warm days. Capri and bodysuits for coolish days or playing at the park.
Chylynn
03-30-2006, 04:21 PM
We did not know the gender of our DC until she was born, so we had a ton of yellow and green clothing. I loved recieving anything pink, so I think clothes will be a nice gesture.
I would get anything from the Little Lady Line or the Patchwork Garden line (both on sale 20%), but I am partial because they are my favorite lines right now.
Seriously, my DD lived in onsies when she was tiny (and still wears them a lot) because we live in S Florida and it is hot and muggy during the summer, so I would just buy a couple of those and maybe matching bibs. I would go with size 3-6 or 6-12 in something easy to dress a baby in. Congratulations on the new precious baby girl in your family!

Holy cow, people. I just unpacked all of Joey's summer clothes, and the boy has 25 t-shirts. I think that about twenty are from Gymboree, and the rest are Gap pocket-T's. :)
That's not counting the shirts from last summer, which he can still wear because he's still fitting most 18-24 shirts.... and it's not counting the ones that are dirty and just for "play".
If any of you see me near a Gymboree, PLEASE steer me away! I need an intervention!

Good lord, Marisa! Just think of how long you can go without doing laundry though!
Marisa
04-05-2006, 04:28 PM
I know. The kid could go at least two weeks without wearing the same thing twice. :)
I'm thinking of it this way though -- first of all, at least half of the stuff was bought on sale for $7 or something like that -- the cowboy and sea life lines from last summer, for example.
And then half of it is 18-24, and half is 2T... so I'm not even touching the larger stuff for a while. Gymboree's sizing is so generous that if he stays fairly slim, he may wear it in the fall (with a l/s shirt or a sweater) or even next spring, maybe.

Question for all of you "Gymboree Pros"... I received a *ton* of Gymboree boy clothing from last summer's line at my baby shower in October. DS is 5mos old and wearing 6-9 months sized clothing (9mos fits best). All of his Gymboree stuff is sized 6-12mos... how long do you think this will fit him? He seems "comfy" in the few items I've tried on him just as a test. I'm afraid that by the time the summer weather rolls around it will all be too small. He's about 17lbs now.
Edited to add - I want to order a few things online... how true are their sizes? DS could fit into their 6-12mos now as I said up above... should I order him 12-18mos? That just sounds so *big*... but, I want him to be able to wear the clothing throughout the summer... what do you all think?

sebski - Good Question!! So far, DD is 18 (almost 19) pounds and is still wearing 6-12 mos and fits just fine! I would also like to hear what age (and poundage) that some of the other babes moved up. It would help when perusing the clearance racks ;)

Okay here is my take on sizes that I'm buying DD for summer.
My DD is 20 lbs right now so I have decided to buy most things in 12-18 months with a few things in 18 months. Like a swimsuit i bought in 18-24 months. Some shorts like the biker shorts. They tend to run a tad on the smaller side on DD. Though i sometimes feel like I really could have gone up to 18-24 months. Even thought the size tag is nowhere near what she weights now. I find these numbers on the tags to never be correct not even at the Gap. I just hate the feeling of getting to August and her not fitting in her clothes and all the fall stuff is out.

seb -- my son started wearing 12-18 months when he was about 7 or 8 months old -- but he measured at over 20 lbs. at his 6 month WBV. He was a chunky guy back then, but the 12-18s were still pretty big/roomy on him.
The 6-12 and 6-9 size were *fairly* close, obviously he grew out of the 6-9s a little bit sooner (too bad, he had the cutest outfit from the Dog Park line...)
For the summer, you probably want to buy more stuff in the smaller size, then if it seems like he's really growing like crazy, maybe in June pick up a few items that are the next size up.
(As you can see in my last post, I have a problem buying too many t-shirts... but I love them because they're seasonless, you can layer them under warmer shirts... So I always stocked up on t-shirts or onesies in the next size up if I felt compelled to shop. :))

I'm not so sure I like the new girls line..HMMM I don't think I will be running to the store on the 12th to buy anything. Maybe I'll take another look at the line again..I was being rushed while looking at it.
Whats everyone looking to buy from the new line????

I haven't been too keen on any of the Gymbo lines for months until now. I couldn't find a thing to spend my 3 gymbucks on. Now, I'm wondering if anyone knows when they'll do the first markdown on the new lines? I have a hard time paying full price on anything. :)
I love this outfit:

Finally something that's not pale pink and lime green!

I have a 'Rise and Shine' coupon that I won't be using this week. Please PM me if you want it. Obviously, it's too late to mail it, but I could give someone the code for online shopping.
ETA: Code is gone now :)

I'm kinda "eh" about this line, too. Granted, I've only seen it online and most lines usually look much better in person. BUT, if the colors on the computer are true, they're just OK with my DD's complexion. I'm heading to the mall tomorrow, so we'll see...

Another one here with a Rise and Shine coupon I won't use. I love the new girl lines (newborn and baby girl), but I can't justify another purchase, and I prefer waiting for the clothes to go on sale.
Anyway PM me for the code, it's good until 11:59 pm et.

Does anyone know if there are any promos comming up soon....or when the next gymbucks earning period is? I have a few pieces that I still would like to get from the daisy chain line, but there's no way I'm paying full price!
I did just notice on my Gymbo CC that May 5-7th is 10% off instead of the 5%. I still don't think that's enough to get me to buy anything else!
Oh, and I am soooo in love with the Floral patchwork line, I have no idea how old it is but I went crazy on ebay and have almost everything, I love it! The colors are just so pretty! That and dandelion wishes are just adorable, I find that I'm dressing my DD in them instead of the brand new stuff.

From what I heard they were supposed to start handing the out last week. But I just read that most stores are holding them until this week. I didn't know that they Play Class have them. I will have to check that one out. Emschwar, if I can't get one and you can...can you pleeeaassseee send me one?
The coupon is called the Circle of Friends, I am not sure how they decide to hand them out, each store is different. And you have a short time to use them from May 11th to the 14th.

Not sure if this is everywhere, but today when I went to Gymboree they had some small bins of I guess last year's lines or so. Every item in the bin was marked various prices, but the manager told me that it was supposed to start tomorrow to where anything in the bins is $.49 - I got over $200 worth of boy clothes for $5! (she let me have the sale price early, I was so excited I put pics of my stuff I bought in my journal!) Sweaters, a blazer/jacket, onesies, pants, rompers - all for $.49 a piece. Just a heads up - if you're out, it might be worth your time!!

I tried my best to get more than one but the girl wouldn't budge:mad: It wasnt the regular girl that is usually there and knows me because I think she definately would have given me another one.
I heard the new boys line is Hawiian??

I don't think it is everywhere. I was in there this AM and they didn't have anything for .49. They had their usual bins of .99, 2.99 & under, etc. but that's usually just accessories (socks, shoes, leggings). :( It'll prob be a cold day in hell before our stores here sell anything for that cheap! I'm glad you were able to get such bargain though!!! That's just dirt cheap!

I almost went to Gymboree this am after seeing Mrs.Tim's purchases in her journal. Glad I didn't make the trip. She got some amazing deals!
I was at my Gymboree on Sunday and they had baskets full of hats for .49 cents but not clothing. They did have some pieces from last years lines out that were like 3.99, 4.99 etc

If anyone has a extra circle of friends coupons I would love to have it!
Can someone please post the pictures of the new line on here..I don't belong to the Gymbohaven site...
Or can someone at least tell me if the stuff is cute.
What are Gymbucks and generally speaking, which store is less expensive: Gap Kids or Gymboree?
Marisa
04-28-2006, 05:57 PM
I think that Gap Kids and Gymboree are probably similar in pricing. IMO Gymboree seems to run more sales. I love the Gap Outlet for kids clothes. :)
Gymbucks happen a few times a year. During "Earning" time, when you spend $50, you receive a $25 "Gymbuck". You get one for every $50 you spend -- so $100 equals 2 Gymbucks -- 2 $25 coupons.
A "Gymbuck" is good for $25 off a $50 purchase. After "Earning" time is over, there is a "Redemption" period -- usually about a week. There's usually a new line to coincide with redemption.
They just had a Gymbucks cycle, there's probably going to be another one over the summer. I know there's always an earning period right around Christmas too.

WagsThanks! Off to take a look.
cc8I buy all my DS clothes at the Babygap/gap kids and all my DD clothing at grymboree and the prices are very much comparable IMO. Shorts at gap run about 19.50 same with Gymboree and there t-shirts are between 12.50 and 19.50. I think both stores have great quality and minimal shrinking.
