Christmas Wedding Favor Ideas
1. Wooden Napkin Rings
You can purchase wooden napkin rings in most department stores or craft stores. Paint red, green or gold. Add gold foil stickers, if desired, around rings and seal with acrylic sealer.
2 Pot Holders
Cut 6" squares of quilted Christmas material. Sew a contrasting color of seam binding along raw edges to finish. Add a small loop at one corner for hanging. If you like, embroider your names and wedding date on the pot holders.
3. Cinnamon Sticks
Tie 2 or 3 cinnamon sticks together with Christmas ribbon. Tuck in a sprig of holly beneath ribbon.
4. Christmas Ornaments
Buy or make your own Christmas ornaments. Place in a circle of red, green or white tulle. Tie up with ribbon.
5. Miniature Wreaths
Buy small craft wreaths at a local craft store. Decorate with ribbon, holly berries and small dried flowers. Tie a bow to one side and add a loop for hanging in the back.
6. Small Poinsettia Plants
Buy small plants and tie a large, white bow around the pot.
7. Crocheted Snowflake Ornaments
Crochet (or have someone do them for you) snowflakes and stiffen with fabric stiffener. While the snowflake is still wet from the stiffener, spring some silver sparkles over top of it. Add a loop to the top to be able to hang on the tree. Place in a small flat box and wrap box like a Christmas present.
8. Coasters
Give your guests some nice Christmas coasters. Wrap a big red ribbon around coasters to secure and tie a big bow on top.
9. Hot Chocolate
Give personal packets of hot chocolate to your guests. Make up some holiday/wedding labels on your computer, print out and stick to the packets of hot chocolate.
10. Christmas Recipe Book
If the two of you have some all-time favorite Christmas foods that you love, get the recipes and type them up into a small recipe book.

Christmas Wedding Ideas
Invitations
*Design your cards in Christmas shapes such as baubles, Christmas trees or Angels.
*Use Christmas cards as invitations.
*Send your invitations out disguised as Christmas gifts, in small boxes accompanied by a small decoration.
Transport
*Arrive in style in a white limousine decorated with ribbons and festive wreathes or garlands of greenery.
*Arrive by horse drawn carriage with coach and harness decorated with Christmas foliage and lots of chiming bells.
*For a real entrance in keeping with the Christmas theme, a Christmas sleigh with Santa at the reins.
*An all white Santa outfit may look more tasteful.
*A sound system in the vehicle could be broadcasting Christmas carols as it brings the bride to the ceremony.
Music
*At a religious ceremony, use joyful, Christmas carols, such as ‘O come, all ye faithful’ and ‘Hark the herald angel sing’.
*Play Christmas music before the ceremony.
*Ask a children’s Choir to sing at the ceremony. Include popular Christmas songs in the music played at the reception.
*Do not forget the oldies - ‘I’m dreaming of a white Christmas’ - ‘Rocking around the Christmas tree’ and Band Aid’s ‘Do they know its Christmas time’ and keep Elvis fans happy with ‘Santa Bring my Baby back to me.’
Cake
*Make each tier of a square cake look like a Christmas gift, with ribbons and decorations.
*Decorate the cake with trails of iced ivy, holly and berries and small artificial robins, use a centrepiece of bride, groom and Father Christmas.
*Place a centrepiece ‘church’ on the top tier and decorate with angels and bells.
Venue
*Make full use of winter greenery. Holly loaded with bright berries, trailing ivy, great swags of evergreens brightened with ribbons, gold sprayed cones and seed heads.
*Use white miniature Christmas tree lights entwined in the greenery.
*A Christmas tree decorated to match your colourscheme.
*Piles of ‘presents’under the tree. You could invite all your guests to bring family presents along to the wedding, as well as wedding gifts, and Father Christmas could arrive to hand them out.
*Illuminate your reception with a blaze of candle light (just take care that it is only the candles that ‘blaze’!)
*For inexpensive decorations, gather greenery, use spray paint to colour fir cones and seed heads, sprinkle with glitter while still wet, and place in jars which you have covered with tin foil and decorated with colourful ribbons.
*Paint delicate branches with white paint, add a sparkle of glitter and decorate with baubles, tinsel and fairy lights.
Christmas Favours
*Personalised Christmas Crackers.
*Wrap small gifts of chocolates as miniature Christmas presents, have them handed out by Father Christmas.
*Fill tiny Christmas stockings with potpourri or candy canes.
*Make or buy Christmas tree decorations, (such as small red heart-shaped cushions, decorated with a silk rose and embroidered with your name and the wedding date), place them on a tree at the reception and invite the guests to help themselves to the favours as they leave.
*Christmas candles, personalised with your names.
*Bottle openers for the men.
*Gingerbread Father Christmases
Table Decorations
*Fill a glass or plastic (cheaper!) stemmed bowl with :
*Christmas baubles
*Nuts and candied fruits
*Greenery, berries, fir cones and trails of ivy
*Sparkling snowflake decorations, trailing ribbons and white flowers
*A cream Candle standing in a miniature Christmas wreath.
*Similar, but larger, wreaths could be used as decorations or carried in place of a bouquet.
*Decorate small boxes, glue them together and place them in the centre of the table to look like a pile of Christmas gifts.
*Miniature ice sculptures.
*Small illuminated Christmas trees.
*Spray plastic champagne flutes silver and fill with Christmas greenery, (mistletoe can provide some fun!) and add silver artificial flowers.
*Use a Dickensian theme and place miniature old world buildings as a table centre.
*Surround by artificial snow and greenery.
*Create mock Christmas present boxes and stand a poinsettia inside it.
*Use small wooden baskets, filled with baubles, greenery, poinsettias, berries and ribbon.
*Anchor helium balloons in Christmas colours to the centre of the table.
*Weight them with a basket containing a model Father Christmas to look like the gondola of a hot air balloon.
*Mistletoe and more mistletoe!
Finishing Touches
*Place pens and paper at each table and have a centrepiece of Father Christmas with an open sleigh and a note to encourage guests to write messages or advice for the newly weds and place it in the sleigh.
*Compile a collage of photographs of the bride and groom taken at Christmases in the past.
*Try and present them together at the same ages during their childhood.
*Provide candles for the guests to light at the end of the reception, to light the way for the bride and groom as they leave in the dark.
*Gather the guests around a Christmas Tree and sing Christmas carols.
*‘Gift wrap’ the tables with a large central bow and ribbons reaching down to the floor on all four sides.
*Hire hand bell ringers to play Christmas carols for the guests.
*Have a Santa Clause arrive with presents for the children.

I did save a lot of ideas, since my ex and I are still trying to work things out and hope to still have a Christmas wedding someday. Most of these are centerpiece ideas, and some of them I got from the ladies on the WC boards, so they may look familiar!
A favor idea:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v638/ArienMalfoy/ChristmasWeddingOrnament.bmp
A centerpiece idea we were considering. We were going to decorate them ourselves:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v638/ArienMalfoy/BabyTreeCenterpiece.jpg
More centerpiece ideas:

Someone on the WC boards suggested this for a centerpiece (sorry, I don't remember who). It's a bowl filled with ornaments, and then you put the ornaments on your first Christmas tree as a married couple:

This is the cake we were going to go with, which is actually a variation of Angel_Kirsche's cake:

I hope that helps! :D

Christmas Weddings
The bride
*A pure white gown worn under a cloak of rich, red velvet to keep out the chill. Choose warm dress fabrics such as heavy satin, brocade or velvet.
*A short white fun fur would also look good and could be left at the door during the ceremony.
*A more modern gown, trimmed with bright Christmas motifs.
*A gold dress in shimmering fabric, trimmed with tiny golden bells.
*Make a real statement in a bright red silk gown.
The bouquet
*Mainly greenery, with trailing ivy. A few white flowers such as roses, the spectacular ‘Longiflorum’ lilies, Christmas roses (white helibore) or Guelder rose (Viburnum opulus) with sprigs of Jasmine.
*For more colour, use deep red rosebuds and twigs of spruce, interspersed with golden bells and ribbons.
*Or add small bells on trailing ribbons that tinkle as they move.
The Head-dress
A Renaissance style circlet of greenery with deep red roses (or white blooms) at the front.
The groom
Together with the rest of his party wears a glittering waistcoat in red, green and silver or gold. Buttonholes of mistletoe, easily removable for kissing the bride!
The bridesmaids
Rich, deep red, velvet gowns with matching stoles for warmth and carrying white posies or floral baskets. Alternatively white, silver or gold gowns and wraps and carrying posies of deep red roses and evergreens.
Flowergirls
In deep red velvet, with short full skirts trimmed with white fur. Keep them warm with white tights and fur muffs or they can carry rustic hoops of ivy and flowers (small white roses, anemones or guelder roses).
Page Boy
For very small pageboy, dress as Santa’s helper in a green elf costume or for a more conventional look, a dark green velvet suit.

More Christmas Wedding Ideas
1. ATTIRE
* Muffs for the bridesmaids can be an alternative to the standard bouquet. Some suggested bridesmaids dress colors are teal, burgundy, deep green, Christmas red, red and green plaids, forest green, gold, silver, cranberry, midnight blue.
* A long velvet cape with a hood for the bride.
2. MUSIC
* Consider contacting a Choral group in your area. Many groups dress up for the holidays in Dickens -type clothing of the Edwardian/Victorian era and sing authentic carols of that age. This would be a unique musical treat for your guests and would set the mood of the season in a special way.
* A harpist playing Christmas would be lovely
* A children's group singing Christmas songs
* Consider having a string quartet play during the cocktail hour playing a mix of Christmas and classical
* Handbells are another LOVELY additon to any wedding. DON"T USE THEM TO WALK DOWN THE AISLE, as no one will be watching you!! If your church has these, do ask about it.
Recorded Music
* "Christmas on Guitar", by Giovanni Di Chiaro, guitar. Perfect for quiet evenings at home with close friends or loved ones, this gently beautiful music sets a warm and meditative mood. Giovanni Di Chiaro performs his own arrangements and transcriptions of best-loved carols and seasonal melodies including "Oh Holy Night", "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear," "Sleepers Awake", "Jesu, Joy of ManŐs Desiring", "What Child is This?", and "Silent Night". Total time 54:55.
* "Christmas Favorites for Harp", by Roxanne Ziegler, harp. Let the heavenly sounds of the harp soothe and refresh you this holiday season. Playing her concert grand Lyon and Healy pedal harp, Roxanne Ziegler performs a generous program of Christmas classics including "Silent Night", SchubertŐs "Ave Maria", concert variations on "O Tannenbaum", HandelŐs Allegro moderato from Harp Concerto-B-flat, "Once in Royal DavidŐs City", "Coventry Carol", and "Gesu bambino". Total time 53:02
* "A Music Box of Christmas Carols," by Canterbury Choristers; Bornand Music Boxes. A fascinating and unusual collection of Christmas carols, alternately performed by the Canterbury Choristers and 150-year-old music boxes. The singing is pure and etheral, and the sound of the music boxes is dreamy and mysterious. The 26 carols include "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear", "Silent Night", "Ave Maria", "Angels We Have Heard on High", "The First Noel", and "Joy to the World." Total time 52:15
* "Crystal Carols: Traditional Christmas Music Played on the Glass Armonica," by Dean Shostak, glass armonica. Invented by Benjamin Franklin in 1761, the glass armonica is a series of tuned glass bowls mounted on a spindle, turned by a fly wheel, and played by moistened fingers. The sound is ethereal and grand. Accompanied by violin, piano and harp, Dean Shostak shows his mastery of this unique instrument by playing 16 carols including "Greensleeves", "O Tannenbaum", "Simple Gifts", and "Ave Maria." "Like baby angels singing" - Washington Post review. Total time 52:52
* "Rejoice! A String Quartet Christmas," by Arturo Delmoni and Alexander Romand, violinists; Katherine Murdock, viola; Nathaniel Rosen, cello. Fresh, elegant string quartet arrangements of 24 traditional Christmas carols. Total time 50:15
* The above mentioned albums can be ordered from "Classics" , a mailorder catalog specializing in hard to find/unusual musical selections. Call 1-800-949-9999 to request a catalog.
3. FLOWERS
* Holly, sprigs of ivy and pine
* Caution!: Poinsettias secrete a substance when cut that many people are allergic too. They also should not be placed on the cake (unless candy ones are made) because they are poisonous. If they are to be carried as flowers, gloves or muffs should definitely be planned.
* The fire and ice roses (white with red tips) are very nice, as are gardenias (though they'd be expensive in the winter) and maybe stargazer lilies.
* For the small pointsettias as table settings, what I used to do at home was buy those small tart tins with 3" bases and place each pot in one of them before wrapping it with paper and ribbon. That way you can water the pots normally and not worry about them leaking through unless you really overdo it.
* In corsages and boutonnieres, add mistletoe as an accent.
* A neat catalog called Petals (www.petals.com or 800-637-3825) and it's all flowers. They have a Christmas/holiday edition and the arrangements are gorgeous!! Their silks look to be of excellent quality but just the ideas would be worth taking a look at the catalog.
4. FOOD
Any type of menu is perfectly satisfactory so the issue is more of how to incorporate elements of the holiday season into the menu. Suggestions to consider would be:
* Egg nog
* Hot spiced cider
* Hot chocolate
* Christmas cookies ( gingerbread men, Spritz, bourbon balls, decorated sugar cookies, etc.)
* Sweet breads with whipped toppings (banana, cranberry nut, date nut with cream cheese and butter topping)
* In some areas it is common bring a plate of Italian cookies to each table after the cake (usually these are made by the bride & family) we are making Christmas cookies instead, I will add a handful of holiday Hershey kisses for color.
Wedding Cake
* Put the small colored christmas ball ornaments on your wedding cake instead of flowers. They can be in a casade, though they could be placed anyway you want, with pieces of gold ribbon strategically placed.
* The entire top tier shaped to look like a Christmas tree but with no lights.
* A cake that is an outdoor wedding winter wonderland. Make trees of upside down icecream cones with icing leaves and snow and little ornaments - red balls. The bottom middle layer can have a mirror on it and it look like a skating pond - try lots of edible clear glitter to make it a snowy cake. (Don't crush the glitter - it gets yucky) Next to the trees can be the groomsmen and bridesmaids that are painted (you can ice them, but it takes two weeks) to be in outdoor green & red dresses with hand muffs, caroling books and olde tyme head pieces. The groomsmen can have ear muffs and scarves and books made of electrician's tape and felt. MaKe a stained glass gazebo out of frosted glass for the top and a lovely porcelain couple inside. Paint the bouquet to match yours. The outside arhces of the gazebo can be done with tiny garlands of icing and icing wreaths.
Grooms Cake
* Use the French Noel Log (Buche de Noel) cake as the groom's cake. (Chocolate - shaped like a log, icing made to look like tree bark).
5. DECORATIONS - CEREMONY
* Having a wedding during the Christmas season means that many churches are already decorated for the holidays which is a money saving strategy.
* Clear white electric candles in the windows can be attractive for a night wedding.
* String the bushes in front of the church with tiny white lights.
* Instead of an aisle runner, sprinkle fake snow down the aisle
* Luminaries lining the church driveway are a really neat decoration and cheap, too. Paper bags are filled with about two inches of sand and a candle inserted in the sand. (A slight variation on this is to use the bottoms of 2-liter pop bottles (white, of course, but the green can make a neat effect -- cut so they're almost as tall as the bags to be safe) inside of the bags so that the luminaries last longer/don't easly blow out or burn the bags. Just put the sand and candle in the bottle bottom!
* In Diane Warner's book, How to Have a Big Wedding on a Small Budget, she tells of a wedding two days before Christmas in which the bride had decorated using unsold Christmas trees she had gotten for free from the tree lots. They had decorated the several dozen trees with many strands of white lights and had borrowed every tree stand they could find. The lights were dimmed throughout the wedding and reception making it look like a winter fantasyland.
* Place X-mas silk evergreen swags in your candlelabra. I decorated mine with gold instruments, packages, bows pinecones. The were elegant and the trees look like really elegant, candlelit trees. You usually decorate with some greenery anyway. Add a green velvet bow and you have stunning. The unity candle in nice this way also. I suggest brass. You can rent the candlelabra yourself and save $$. Half the time, this is what florists do anyway. Green velvet bows are also lovely for pew bows. We edged ours with gold.
Alter Decorations
*A nice touch for the altar area is to purchase dozens of potted poinsettias and cluster them around the front of the church. Most churches have steps leading up to the altar and the poinsettias can create a cascading effect. Afterwards, the poinsettias can be given as either favors to guests or as "Thank you" to people who have helped you with your wedding.
Pew decorations
* Small wreaths
* Greenery swags with a Christmas ornament attached
* Florist and party rental places rent a single brass candle on a pole which clamps to the pew. This can be decorated with greenery and bows, then the candles lit just prior to the processional.
* How about long cinnamon sticks with greenery and flowers? It'd smell wonderful!

More Christmas Wedding Ideas (cont)
6. DECORATIONS - RECEPTION
* Large Christmas trees with tiny lights is always attractive. Even ficus trees with white lights are beautiful.
* Stairways can be swagged with greenery roping
* Buffet tables can be swagged with greenery roping along the sides or the greenery roping placed on the table among the platters and dishes.
* Buffet tables can also have small white lights along the rim of the table but under the table skirting. Very attractive!
* Consider having a gingerbread house or church for a centerpiece to the main buffet table.
* Doorways and windows can be swagged with greenery roping and roping is cheap (usually $10 for 25 feet)
* 5 candle table candelabras (rented) are very attractive on buffet tables
* Luminaries along the driveway to the reception as well as the walkways are a cheap and attractive decoration.
* Ask each shower guest to give a Christmas ornament (they are out so early these days, it shouldn't be a problem). Then, use these ornaments to decorate a tree at the reception!
* I don't know about where you are, but in my area of the North a good number of reception halls have fireplaces in them. If you can get something like that, you could have a pinewood fire, stockings hanging from the mantel... decorate with pine boughs and some potted poinsettas.
* An easy and inexpensive way of decorating the tables at the reception: buy rolls of metallic wrapping paper and bows in your wedding colors and wrap some empty boxes up. You can use the bows and extra wrapping paper for other gifts later.
* Hang mistletoe over the bride and groom's seats.
* We had candy cane balloons done - instead of the heart - you just have both sides of it and separate them - and had them at the entrance of the reception hall. They created a magical setting. I was truly suprised that balloons could be elegant - they really transform a room - Look at florist samples.
* Use clear balloons, not white ones for a wedding. They are etheral and lovely. Solid colors are birthday party stuff.
* Take bridal netting and loop through stairways, garlands, candlelabra garlands, pews, balloon displays and platters or use netting and balloons for table decorations. It is very effective.
Centerpieces
* Small artificial Christmas trees with battery-powered lights. Be forewarned though that these small lights have a lifespan of about two hours
* Small trees decorated in small ornaments
* A mirror with a single candle and greenery
* A basket of pinecones, glass ball ornaments and ribbons
* Also, for table centerpieces, use wreath-like candle rings, decorated with tiny christmas ornaments and ribbon. Use scented candles, pine or cinnamon would be a nice touch. (Heather Thistle)
* Make pot-wraps out of pretty Christmas fabric, or plaid taffeta, or moire. Cut a circle large enough to wrap the right size pot. Edge the circle with gold metallic serged edge or gold cord. Wrap a potted poinsettia with cotton batting (or wadded tissue - cheaper). Then cover with the fabric pot-wrap and tie with gold, green, red, or burgundy drapery cord or (cheaper) coordinating wired ribbon with big bow. Perhaps stick a really tall (18") taper in the middle of the potted poinsettia. If you're marrying the week after Christmas, poinsettias will be REAL CHEAP.
* Collect all the brass candle sticks you can borrow or afford to buy. They don't need to match, but should be similar heighths. For fresh flowers, soak oasis in water, wrap in saran wrap and stick onto candlestick (where the candle would go). Wrap some green fine-gauge florist wire around to secure. (If you have those candlesticks for pillar candles with the spike, it's easier. Just impale the oasis on the spike.) Stick a tall candle into the center of the foam. You might need to use those green plastic candle gizmos they sell at craft store with wet oasis. Or if you're using a spike holder, cut away some of the oasis from around the spike and set the candle on the spike. 3 or 4 days ahead of time, push sprigs of pine, cedar, boxwood, spruce into the oasis - pretty much covering it. Maybe let sprigs of ivy trail down. You can get most of what you need in your yard. Add a lavish bow of wired ribbon with ends as long as the candle stick is tall. Wire or tie on. Bows could have been made well ahead. Keep the centerpieces in a cool place. The day of the reception, add 2 or 3 fresh blossoms. Grocery stores frequently have carnations 3/$1. You don't need a lot. Brass candlestick with greens, two white roses, gold/green wired sheer ribbon, and a tall ivory candle still look great and elegant 2 days AFTER adding the roses. If you're not adverse to using silks, you could substitute green styrofoam for the oasis and do everything way ahead. The candlesticks can be bought (most around $7, at Target, T.J. Maxx, Pier One), You can use or give away to family members.
7. RECEPTION ACTIVITIES
* Have Santa Claus make a surprise visit. Santas at other Christmas weddings has danced with guests, sat on a chair listening (with microphone from DJ) to what guests want for Christmas, handed out favors from his bag.
* Instead of the traditional bouquet toss, be creative and arrange for a wreath (fabric or real) to be thrown.
* Create a head wreath with mistletoe in it so that singles can wear it during a special dance
8. INVITATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
9. FAVORS
* Try the Oriental Trading Company (1-800-228-2269). They have many glass and crystal ornaments for as low as $1 a piece.
* We decided to get Godiva's gold foil wrapped chocolates. I will wrap them in netting, tie it with gold ribbon and add a small silk poinsettia to each, they look very christmasy.
* Or how about decorating cookie cutters.
* And for those serious crafters/bakers - you can make tiny gingerbread cottages out of square or rectangular cookies (like Nice tea biscuits) gumdrops and frosting out of a can. Spray with some kind of shellac if you want to preserve. But make sure everyone knows it, 'specially the kiddies!
* Try making X-mas bells out of communion cups and birdseed. Fill the cup, turn it over onto the netting and tie with a ribbon. Tie two together for a lovely effect of bells.
10. TRANSPORTATION
* If you live somewhere where it snows enough, a horse-drawn sleigh would be fun!
11. MISCELLANEOUS
* A skating party after or as part of the rehearsal festivities.

The "guestbook" was a little unusual, and not exactly a book. We had red tags made of cardstock, shaped like circles and hearts. The tags were about 2 1/2" across. Each tag had a hole punched in it, and we tied silver metallic wire-edged ribbon through the hole. We provided silver ink pens for people to use, and each guest signed the tag with a wedding wish and their names, then hung the tags on a wreath next to the table. (See the photo to the right.) We're going to save the tags in our wedding scrapbook.

Invitations: There are plenty of religious invitations and you may feel strongly about using them at this time of year. Or try custom-made invites shaped like Christmas stockings, snowmen, or Christmas trees. And there's always the obvious choice of including anything in red and green.
Clothes: The bride can wear a gown with white velvet accents or something with faux-fur. Added touches can include festive colors like red, gold, or green, or even a cape or bows. The groom can wear a red and green or metallic-brocade vest, or cummerbund and tie, with studs and cuff links in the shape of Christmas trees or candy canes. For the wedding party, put bridesmaids in bright red or hunter green; gold, silver, and pewter are beautiful, too.
Flowers & Decorations: Drape ivy or holly mixed with sprigs of baby's breath among the rows of seats for the ceremony. Poinsettias are perfect around the area where you'll stand to exchange your vows and even as centerpieces. Or, for instant centerpieces, fill large glass vases or bowls with solid-colored glass ornaments. Bundles of white branches (from the market or florist) decorated with white lights will look great around an entryway. Another idea is to adorn evergreen plants with lights, candy canes, and little red bows.
Food & Drink: Have the caterer recreate your favorite holiday dinner. For beverages, how about a punch bowl full of egg nog, spiced cider, or spiked rum? Festive holiday drinks for everyone! And be sure to serve hot cocoa, plain or with a shot of creme de menthe.
Entertainment: Have the band or DJ play some danceable Christmas tunes like "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "Jingle Bell Rock." Get everyone to gather around, pass out lyric sheets, and sing Christmas carols!
Favors: Mini Christmas stockings filled with candy, ornaments (store-bought or printed with your names and the wedding date), big candy canes tied with bows, silver bells decorated with red and green ribbons. Use your imagination and go wild!

Does anyone know where you can buy fake cranberries? Or how expensive real cranberries would be during Christmas time?

I would imagine that you could find something like that at Michael's or Craftmart or a similar place.
By the way, Oriental Trading Company (http://www.orientaltrading.com/otcweb/application?namespace=main&origin=home.jsp&event=link.home&tabId=Home) is a wonderful place to find all sorts of things, like Christmas items, wedding favors, etc. Here's their website:

Hi, another Christmas '06 Bride here. I just found this thread and have not been able to delve deeply into it yet. But my roomate and I came up with the best idea ever for a guestbook, and to tie in with favors.
We thought it would be neat for the favors to be photo frames we decorate ourselves,
The cool part is though, that I would like to set up a warm cozy chair, with a christmas tree or something beside it, or a beautiful drape behind it and some mistletoe, I dont know I'm still playing with the idea, and as the guests sign the guestbook, leave space in the book for photos, and have someone take the guests photos right there so you can have one, and they can have one. I dont know if it would be best to do this with a poloroid, or digital and email them, or print them off there. but I thought it was a great idea!

I had a Christmas wedding and loved it. I don't have any of my colored pics scanned so I'll post stuff around here that I can find.
Colors - red & gold, theme "Christmas in Dixie"
http://spring.bonny.com/bonny/images/243b.jpg
My dress.
The church
We of course used the candelabras. We really didn't decorate much b/c the church was done for Christmas. On the stage, my bridal party stood in pairs, so at each couple's feet we had a poinsetta along with poinsettas going up the steps on each side of the stage.
Pew bows - I collected a TON of pinecones, painted them gold & hung them with off white ribbon with gold writing from dark red and gold wire ribbon. We had lots of greenery, but we saved a ton of $$
Reception. White tablecloths, a big hurricane lamp in the middle (walmart) with a deep cranberry candle (walmart). Around the lamp was fresh greenery - I was determined to have it fresh fro the smell- with little berries in it. We decorated the table with red & gold hersheys kisses and little bells that said something about ringing for a kiss. Our favors were pepermint sticks (hand) dipped in chocolate. We were doing those the day of the wedding :)
Our last dance was Christmas in Dixie.

My sister is planning a december wedding too with a red/green/gold theme. She wants a dress with some red in it and we are not finding a lot, anything you guys can find would be great.
Some ideas we have:
-instead of a gift table, a Christmas tree to put gifts under
-a tree with ornaments with the guests names and table number on it instead of a table chart (also can be used as favors)
-a sleigh for cards instead of wishing well

Christmas Wedding Ideas
Planning a wedding near Christmas? Would you like to keep with the spirit by having a Christmas Theme Wedding? Here are some great Christmas wedding ideas to have the perfect Christmas Wedding.
First, you gotta have Christmas lights! Decorate your church or ceremony location with white lights and tulle - the perfect Christmas wedding idea for a snowy, romantic effect. Many churches will already have Christmas trees up in their sanctuaries, so you won't even need to provide much more in decorations.
If it fits within your budget, hang wreaths on a couple of pews or at the end of a row of chairs. You can even make these wreaths yourself (watch for our next newsletter on a great Christmas wedding idea - decorating Christmas wreaths to double as pew and table decorations).
Choose a ceremony location with a fireplace (or make a fake fireplace using a large piece of paper and drawing a fireplace on it) and hang stockings with all of the names of your bridal party on them. Place a special Christmas gift of thanks for each of them in their stocking.
For wedding favors with a Christmas theme, give out Christmas ornaments. You can make these, buy them, or even have your guests make them right at your wedding as a fun activity!
Place wreaths in the center of each table with a candle in the middle of them as table decorations. For an aromatic effect, choose pine smelling candles or another smell that you associate with Christmas. (Watch for our next newsletter on a great Christmas wedding idea - decorating Christmas wreaths to double as pew and table decorations.)
If you have a lot of children attending your reception, arrange for a special visit from Santa Claus. Santa can give each child a candy cane and ask them what they want for Christmas. Make sure your photographer knows about this or have someone take a Polaroid of each child on Santa's lap.
After dinner, sing Christmas carols together. Make sure to have someone well-versed in Christmas carols available to play requests on the piano and have books available for your guests to sing from.
Later in the evening, offer Christmas cookies and hot chocolate or eggnog for your guests to warm up to. Or, make lots of cut-out cookies ahead of time, along with red, white, and green frosting. Then, allow your guests to decorate their own Christmas cookies to eat or take home (this could be a less-expensive Christmas wedding favor idea than Christmas ornaments) - don't forget the sprinkles, jimmies, red hot candies, etc.
Finally, surprise your fiance by arranging for a horse- drawn sleigh to pick you up and whisk you away.
Best Wishes on your Christmas Wedding,
Kelly Kons

You can have the True story of Saint Nicholas (Santa) given at your wedding since his story has to do with weddings.. Anyhow here it is. Enjoy
The character of Santa Claus is copied from the life of a real person, a saint named Nicholas. Saint Nicholas was a Christian saint -- and he was very REAL. He was the bishop of a city named Myra in Turkey in the early part of the fourth century.
The most common story told about St. Nicholas has to do with three young sisters who were very poor. Their parents were so poor that they did not have enough money for the daughters to get married. Every young girl needed money to pay for the wedding and to set up house for themselves. Nicholas heard about this family and wanted to help them, but he did not want anyone to know that he was the one who was helping them.
Saint Nicholas climbed up on their roof three nights in a row and threw gold coins down their chimney so that they would land in the girls' stockings, which had been hung by the fire to dry. After two of his daughters had been able to marry because of the money mysteriously appearing in their stockings, the father was determined to find out who was helping them, so he hid behind the chimney the next night.
When he was discovered, Bishop Nicholas asked the father not to tell anyone else, but the father wanted everyone to know what a good and generous man the Bishop Nicholas was, so he told everyone he knew. That is how we have the story and the tradition of stocking full of gifts today.
You could have stockings as favors with the note attached and filled with gold wrapped candy.
