DS is turning "1" in August and I having a tough time figuring what to do about gift bags. I need ideas on what to fill the gift bags with. Party guests will mainly babies/toddler between 10 months and 2; with a couple of 3 and 5 year-olds. Any suggestions? TIA.

For my DS's 1st bday I made 2 favors bags. One set for babies under 18 months old and then one for the older kids. In all favor bags I added
bubbles
pin wheel
for the babies I put in
1 little bottle of Gerber juice
1 pack of Gerber gummy snacks
1 box of cheerios
1 biter biscuit
the older kids got
play doh
sticker books
pez dispensers
Good Luck, hope I helped some.

My sister has always given "baby" items in gift bags for children under 2. Some of the things she has put include:
Baby jar food
Baby cookies/biter biscuits
Baby juice
Teethers
Baby toys (rattles, keys, etc)
Little books (they have .95 cent ones at Walmart that are pretty cute and are shaped like animals like kittens, bunnies, horses, etc and are even hard backs)
Homemade CD's with kids music on them (ABC's, Disney songs, Sesame Street songs, etc)
Hope that helps :)

You might want to take a look at orientaltradingcompany.com for some inexpensive ideas. I threw a bunch of stuff in mine.
Toys I call clappers. You wave the thing handle and two loose pieces on the ends clap against the stationary center. Ours had animal faces on them.
Squirt toys for the bath tub
kid toothbrushes
inflatable beach balls
disposable kiddy cups, spoons and forks
teething cookies
gerber fruit puffs
I have also had friends given bubbles. One friend just gave each child a nice little ball.
little stamps with safe ink would be fun. I know the kids at daycare LOVE when they get a stamp on their hand for helping clean up. In fact the will play pretend stamp using little peoples. I love watching Gabe look at the invisible fake stamp on one hand and than put out his hand to his friend so he can get one more for his other hand.

we had kids of all ages, so every bag had something different it seems.
-the babies had personalized onesies that i found someone on ebay to make
-pb kids straw cups
-bubbles
-curious george books (we had a monkey theme)
-finger puppets
-some wooden finger push toy
-rubber ducks
older kids had
-stickers
-candy, gum
-those rubber bracelets with their names
-mad libs, pens
I'm putting a copy of this over in the new Gift Ideas (http://www.constantchatter.com/forumdisplay.php?f=95) thread. You might want to pop over from time to time to update it with the sort of things you might want to give or receive as gifts
