Where to go 4th of July

General Motors shuts down for 2 weeks every July so DH & I want to go on a weeks vacation the week of the 4th. We are leaving Ohio and dropping my girls off at their Dad's house in VA. What I am asking is where to have a vacation. I have already been to Nags Head, Mrtyle Beach,Atlantic City. I would rather go south (will be picking girls up on way home) Where else is there to go? I rather not go somewhere that is nothing but taverns because it will be just the 2 of us. We both like history, doing different things, etc...
Any suggestions?

How about Savannah? I have yet to get around to spending a weekend up there myself (I'm about 4 or 5 hours south in Orlando), but I've wanted to go for the past year or so. It's such a beautiful, romantic city and there's TONS of history.

I just spoke with DH and he wants to go to Nags Head because a group of people from work are going down there. I have been there before but it was in March and alot of things were closed down for the season so I quess I will still see things I have not before.
